When he was on ABC he endorsed the old Hollywood Blacklist, "because we were fighting Communism." Only after some elderly victims on the show explained what the Blacklist actually ENTAILED--guilt by association, rewarding turncoats and people willing to betray their friends--did Maher relent and admit that Blacklisting people under those conditions was wrong. And Maher does give Ann Coulter way too much slack, when she slings so much baloney she should open a deli already. It's obvious he's thinking with his crotch instead of his brain. All in all, the guy's a loose cannon who can take incredibly reactionary stances at times without considering that he's getting into bed with people whom he otherwise hates.
