Ok Gang, we are a Comrade target

(Susan’s Note: It’s important to read Uppity Woman’s story below. The far left is ganging up on every blog that does not “toe the line” for Obamabots. They don’t notice that we’ve posted stories praising some of Obama’s appointments (see also “Inspired Choices for DNI and CIA?” by Larry Johnson), and our economic expert LD posted a report approving of Obama’s latest economic plan. But the rigid left can’t see that we have flexible minds and simply wish the best for our nation. Why? Because WE ARE PATRIOTS. We CARE about our country. FIRST, and forever. Vote for us, every day. And for Uppity Woman, also a NQ writer. Blogs like NoQuarter and Uppity Woman are “endangered species”; we are among the few blogs left that haven’t been bought by special interests, politicians, or the media. We eschew “group think.” These days, most blogs are indentured servants. Now, Uppity’s report on the insidious efforts by the left.)

UPPITY WOMAN:

Ironically I never even knew who Wonkette was till two days ago when they did Confluence in. Somebody got a screen shot of how they were going to cheat using a particular site to go in and vote. I guess somebody reported it, but apparently it still works. This is so infantile, I’m laughing my ass off here.

Thanks, Red Dragon, for the copy of this message.

From Wonkette:

Another “major” nominated PUMA blog this year in the category of “Best New Blog” is one called “Uppity Woman” (jesus christ) and it cannot be allowed to win. So we arbitrarily endorse another one called “~ synthesis ~” because it has a fun-lookin’ name. Vote “~ synthesis ~”, the best new blog in America.

Now here’s the message that’s on Synthesis’ site. The poor guy probably doesn’t even know what hit him.

Posted by: shafeen | Jan 06, 2009 at 17:48

You, by default of Wonkette chance, are the best new blog in America. Check the link. Congratulations.

Posted by: miserable denizen | Jan 06, 2009 at 15:52

Thus, a “Fun Lookin” name got 600 votes in 12 hours.

Who says we aren’t headed towards Communism? WTF? I have never even been to their site. I suppose we should be glad they haven’t set us aflame. Yet. And they wonder why we can’t stand their Plastic Jesus.

So…………….the rest is up to you. You shall just have to hire ACORN.

Note: I’m leaving this post on top for the day. The blog traffic increase is exponential. Thanks Wonkette, whomever the hell you are! Can we do this again next year?

Guess who this is dedicated to?

From my blog, Uppity Woman.

OMG! I knew we were seeing the end of America if we got BHO, but it is worse than I imagined.

    Welcome to democratistan!

      Or maybe it’s Democrapistan!

What pro Obama post did Uppity post? How is the confluence a Liberal blog when it endorsed McPalin?

        • helenk

The confluence did not endorse the McCain-Palin ticket.
          Many voted for other candidates.
We are a pro Hillary site and proud of it.
We called foul on the dnc and many of us left the democratic party including me. I left after 48 years because this year made me ashamed to called a democrat.
Many of us are now independents and will examine every candidate before we vote not just those with a d after their names.
We believe that country comes before party always.

            I feel the same way.

If there is only one small thing that some of us can take from this phony bs “selection” is that FINALLY people will REALLY do their homework on the candidates, rather than just run out and vote party. This is the biggest example I have ever seen of WHY country HAS to come first. If people would have had any respect and love for this country, Fraudbama would be moving back home to Kenya.

        • Donna Brazile

          Gettin giggie with it:

Know what the frak you’re talking about before you post. The Confluence NEVER endorsed McCain!

          Stop the lovefest!

        • bert

Go over there and read some of their posts, Gigi, and maybe you will learn a few things.

“The essence of the Liberal outlook lies not in what opinions are held, but in how they are held: instead of being held dogmatically, they are held tentatively, and with a consciousness that new evidence may at any moment lead to their abandonment.” -Bertrand Russell

          Any other questions, Gigi?????

        Democrapistan!

        That’s it, Csuzeq!

  • SWPAnnA

Wonkette may not remain on top (due to the disrespectful language of posters) but there was a time when the entire Newspaper Kingdom applauded this first demonstration by the blogosphere that the Press wasn’t doing its job and that the Big Leagues of Journalism had sold its collective soul to be part of the elite. Their revenues soon followed.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

You can tell this nonsense is going on because the really nasty TROLLS are all over this site lately. It’s rather vile.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Well, we believe in free speech, but one man’s free speech is nasty filth to another. It’s difficult to even compose a set of standards to which everyone can adhere.

Then there’s that we are all human. Once in a while, we blow our gaskets.

I’ve done that here. I’ve lowered the boom on someone who wrote a comment I found insulting. And what I wrote was “over the top.” Later on, sometimes much later, it dawned on me that what I wrote was regrettable, and I’ve gone back and changed it. But sometimes — especially since we take care of so many chores as well as trying to write stories — we get tired, angry, crabby, upset.

Like me last night. I brought my beloved Bear home from the vet where he had major dental surgery that I can’t afford but the vet is kindly allowing me to make payments.

During the trip home — and it was a frightening trip because rain was pouring down and it was nearly impossible to SEE on the dark, narrow, two-lane highway (that kills many people annually), so I was tense from the drive itself — Bear wetted himself. I didn’t know until I took the carrier out of the car. And the urine poured all over me and my clothes and my purse and all over poor Bear too.

We finally got ourselves cleaned up. I put Bear in the kitchen sink and gently rinsed off his thick fluffy tail that was soaked with urine. I changed clothes. (Now I need to figure out how to get that stench out of my clothes, but will worry about that later.)

Bear was miserable, and unsteady. He kept climbing up on the kitchen counter and then falling off. I made little beds for him so he could lie near me, but he was restless and trying to shake off the effects of the anesthesia.

Then I get to the computer, and my inbox is backed up. And people are shooting me e-mails and they’re upset.

I finally gave up on answering the e-mails from upset people, and laid down in bed with Bear. He finally fell asleep, tucked in my arms.

Then I got up later and tried to get things in order for the blog. Sometimes it is hard to juggle everything, and make sure that all of our dear readers’ concerns are met. But we do try. Albeit VERY imperfectly!

Again, we are human. We get angry at times and let it all hang out. Then, finally, I say to myself, “This too shall pass.” And so it does.

I always feel that I shouldn’t be condemned for a single angry moment, but for the totality of all that I do. And I hope we extend that same regard to our readers. (Which I’m sure we fail to do at times, because we are so damn imperfect ourselves.)

      And life goes on.

      TROLLS:

During the election, we were very strict about trolls, but it takes several hours a day to do all that. None of us has the time needed to monitor all the comments and all the people. We wish we did. (I’m lucky if I get time to read 1/4 to 1/3 of all the comments, which bugs the hell out of me, but there just isn’t the time.) It’s not humanly possible because we don’t make even enough money to pay for the monthly server costs, let alone hire people.

We rely on our readers to report nasty comments to us. So please do. susanunpc at gmail dot com

      • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

        Susan,

Sorry about Bear and the urine mess…Ughhhh.

I know the job you do here, first hand, and I appreciate your thoughtful, caring demeanor about your readers/posters. The troll thing is usually okay, just annoying. I know you can’t clean it all up time-wise and we’re all adults who can handle ourselves. I always know when we are being effective, because they come out in teams, or post really vicious attacks. No worries, we expect it. The only issue I have is the troll posting here today, to me, that I am my partner, Gigi. You of course know I am not. I don’t want her to be credited with anything I post, as I don’t purport to speak for her. That’s when it is a little dangerous – when they are reckless, inaccurate and detrminental to others.

        • oowawa

Susan, sorry about Bear. In my old age, I increasingly evaluate people by how well they treat animals. I also think you are doing a wonderful job, and I thank you.

As far as the trolls go, it’s no big deal. The troll combat on this site is one of the big attractions, and if they were all to suddenly disappear, the blog would not be so lively. Now if all the fierce troll warriors like Ferd & HARP & O’Fraud and many more were suddenly to disappear, then the blog would quickly be overrun, like kudzu covering a neglected field in the south. Sweet fellows like me could never keep the trolls away. Hurray for NQ! And for Uppity Woman too!

            Thank you oowawa…Hugs.

      • wodiej

Susan, I’m sorry about Bear too…I am a total dog nut and they are my babies.

Last night wasn’t a good night for you anyway and then all of the upset e-mails on top of it. Sometimes it does seem to pile up in one day and we just need to step back and take a breather.

You extended to us before to notify you of over the top troll comments and I have done so and appreciate it.

I think most people understand you can’t monitor every single comment. Most of the troll comments aren’t too bad, they’re just senseless. Together we all usually exterminate them pretty quick. :)
For me, I contemplate the remark before I decide if it is even worthy of a response. 9 times out of 10 it isn’t. So I move on.

Of course we have all said things we later regret. We just need to remember, once something is said, no amount of remorse will erase it. A good rule of thumb-we should always wait to react to something that upsets us.

        • oowawa

Of course we have all said things we later regret.

I sure have. And I hope others will forgive me, as I will forgive them.

      • bert

It was better for both you and Bear that you forgot work and stayed with him. Yoyr priorities are straight.

Recipe for dog urine remover. (There are many others out there in a simple google search.

If you’ve got the time and the patience, you can easily make your own dog urine cleaner. This method is not only good for removing dog urine, but also for getting rid of dog urine stains. First blot up as much of the urine as possible. Then mix 3 parts water to one part vinegar and saturate the spot. Next, blot it all up again. After it’s dried sprinkle the area with baking soda. Next stir ¾ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide up with one tsp. dish detergent and drizzle over the baking soda. To make sure the hydrogen peroxide won’t discolor your carpet, first try this concoction on a small inconspicuous area. Next, use your fingers or an old brush to work the baking soda in. I recommend a hairbrush with little bits of plastic over the tips. Once it’s dry, vacuum it up. If there’s still a slight odor or a little bit of the stain left when done repeat the process.

I hope Bear feels better soon. (I’m sure he didn’t like wetting himself either!)

ALL newspaper revenue plummeted once Craigslist and eBay decimated their classified ad sales. It’s a myth that the content of an editorial page caused revenues to fall.

Larry is right, NQ has praised some of the new cabinet appointments. I respectfully suggest that perhaps if this blog had a thicker skin and some of the posters let criticism roll off of them instead of freaking out in conspiratorial frenzies, than this blog’s reputation would survive.

    • Zeke

      So Razzy,
All you want is for people to stop voicing their opinions about The Kenyan and his illegalities and then this blog would survive?
Well here’s a good one from the past.
We speak our minds here, not what vapid, thoughtless, ignorant fucks want us to say.
      GFY

      • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

        ROFLMAO Zeke…Hahhahahhaha….

      • Erasmus

        Wow.

Who said anything about “not voicing your opinions”? A lot of what goes on in blogs is pretty silly, and freaking out because Wonkette made fun of one of your posters is really a waste of time and energy. Being mocked by Wonkette isn’t part of a gigantic plot by hard leftists to “silence” you, it’s one website saying something mean-spirited in order to get a rise out of you guys. Frankly, the speed at which you took the bait was fairly impressive.

Having a thicker skin and/or letting some of the noise roll off of you will do wonders for the reputation of this blog. Oh, and maybe not resonding to even minor dissent from your groupthink with profanity-laced echo chamber responses might be a start.

Truthfully, getting your knickers in a twist over a website award nomination is pretty silly.

        • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Quite honestly, I’m curious why you think it’s okay to ridicule people’s feelings about being recognized for their hard work? The writers here put a lot of love, time and effort into what they write. I kind of think it’s their business if it upsets them that they are being cheated out of an award they so deserve. Of course this is just minor dissent, you know.

          • Seattle Moss

            OIAF,
You’re sharp as a tack and I appreciate your comments and dedication to the truth.
Because of NQ and other similar blogs Obama is forced to govern from the center. Just imagine if he had won in a landslide. Instead Obama is conscious of the 56 million who had concerns about his socialist leanings and dubious associations.
We can all give ourselves a big pat on the back for making Obama throw the left wing hate America bums under the bus.

                How’s my OIAF today?

I’m unable to write as much lately as I’m tripling my efforts to bring new business into the company and keep my workers on the line.
I have no clue where business is going even for a company like mine that produces an essential product for mankind.
In my travels I always have my blackberry and always find time to read thought provoking comments by you and other great writers on NQ.

                • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Hi sweetness. I am great today, thanks. But of course we are missing YOU being around more. Glad you are busting your bee-hind for your business. And thanks about the “thought provoking” writing by those at NQ.

                  • Seattle Moss

                    OIAF,

I’ll be looking for you precious!

          • Erasmus

Again, I don’t think one way or another about the Web Awards. If people are going to be recognized, great for them.

However, I realize that web blogs are filled with people who like to throw verbal bombs and stir the pot and what not. I repeat, Wonkette is trying to get a rise out of you guys, and sadly has succeeded famously. Not everything is a massive conspiracy to deny you guys your glory or to suppress the truth. Just a little perspective.

            • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

LMAO…We’re all fine with our “perspective,” but thanks for your concern!

              • Erasmus

Ok then…it’s off to rail against imaginary conspiracies against this site?

You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

                • Donna Brazile

And those that lie down with dogs get up with fleas:-)

                • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

                  Erasmus,

It’s none of your damned BUSINESS what people here post. If you don’t like it you can scroll down and ignore it. Or leave. But I highly doubt you are going to be successful telling people what to post. I think Zeke summed it up nicely for us.

        • pressboy

Well said about the skin thing, Erasmus.

A snarky website dishes its usual snark, and NQ cries communism? That’s…well, “vapid, thoughtless [and] ignorant,” to quote Zeke. :)

The funny thing is, Wonkette’s writers have gotten so witlessly vulgar now that the site could qualify for the censorship the real [Chinese] communists are currently demanding from Internet providers.

This whole competition to see whose supporters will vote the most number of times is pathetic.
It’s like the 13-year-olds who speed-dial American idol over and over again.

That’s very sad stuff. It’s not like we don’t have enough to worry about, without the pettiness of what goes on with blogs. So, now what? Does that mean the results of the Blog Awards have no change of being fair?

  • Peggy Sue

This what happens when you’re dealing with a bunch of juveniles. Cheating? No big deal. As long as they get their own way. If you can’t win fairly then you flatout steal the crown.

Hummmm. What does this remind me of? A recent nomination, perhaps.

Democratistan is a very good label. This is where we’re at, and God help up all.

Sorry this happening, Uppity. It stinks.

It’s worth it not to sell my soul, I’m fine.

But if everyone who has been victimized by these animals were to go out and find five people who never heard of weblog awards and got them to vote, maybe just once the message that you are sick of this shit would sink in.

You can’t be a victim unless you allow it.

For me, knowing that I mean that much to them tells me that I am doing my job. If I weren’t, they wouldn’t even know I existed–or if they did, they wouldn’t care.

      • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Uppity…of course you should be flattered in an odd way that you are getting the attention. It sucks but it’s not surprising, considering the vicious air America has since this whole nightmare started. So sorry for you.

On January 8, 2009, both the U.S. Senate and House shall meet for the purpose of counting and certifying the electoral votes. We only need ONE Senator and ONE Representative to object and demand that President Elect Obama provide the proper paper work that proves UNDENIABLY that he is eligible to be President under the rules of the Constitution.

Please call the Senators and Representatives listed below who have shown concern for this issue and ask that they show the courage in objecting to this certification of the electoral votes until President Elect Obama’s proves his eligibility.

I’m sorry that they are targetting you, Uppity Woman. Its pathetic really.

Thanx for posting this. I thought I was absolutely LOSING MY MIND when I went to vote today (for you Uppity, of course) and saw this blog that I’d never heard of leading (when yesterday, Uppity was certainly ahead). Not to mention that Sully is kicking HotAir’s ass, that kind of clued me in to the fact something is DEFINITELY WRONG. (yea, I’m guilty of lovin’ HotAir – I guess I just outed my Conservative side :)
So now that we all know that the blog awards mean nothing, I hereby state that all my faves win…

Something definitely is up. NQ is getting beat by some unknown by 4k votes when yesterday they only had 1400 votes. So in a span of 7 hours they got 2600 votes..I knew then and there the votes were by cheaters.

No Quarter ran a thread which you titled Obama’s first Foreign Crisis.

I may have the exact title wrong, but the topic is accurate.

We had lengthy discussions about the Hamas rocket barage being Obama’s first crisis and Obama’s scilence coming back to Haunt him.

With in a week that discussion was picked up almost word for word by some talk radio shows.

Go back and take a look at that “thread” and you will see that your readers and bloggers predicted, over a month ago, the events of the last 12 days.

We discussed that Obama’s scilence implies consent when it came to the rockets.

Yesterday, Al Quiada’s #2 said that Obama”s scilence on the IDF Gaza incursions implies consent.

Trolls argued with us when we called for Obama to speak out.

He didn’t and now he is off to a damaged start on the pivot point of Middle East foreign policy.

I would love to see you go back and re-post that thread and examine just how insightful you, your readers and Bloggers were.

Because No Quarter is fair and invites differing points of view, you invite deeper levels of discussion.

Which is why you are respected by your opposition.

They fear you because they respect you.

You have got it exactly right.

    Keep on keeping on

You do realize that no matter what any American President says, AQ is going to blame them or condemn them or whatever for anything that goes on in the region. In the absence of the US withdrawing all support from Israel, then the AQ’s of the world will always condemn us.

      • William L. Donlon

        Erasmus:

        You are exactly right!

It is exactly the reason No Quarter advised Obama to speak out on the Rocket attacks six weeks ago.

Had he listened, he could have turned a “No win” situation into a Win, Win.

If he had spoken out then, he would be free to speak out about the IDF’s responce to those rocket attacks.

If he had spoken out and Hamas pulled back and stopped the attacks -(very unlikely)

No problem, No IDF/Gaza crisis, Obama gets the credit.

If he had spoken out against the Rocket attack but Hamas continued, prompting the IDF to attack Hamas–

Obama would be free to speak out against the rocket attacks again AND the Gaza situation.

He could not be accused of not being even handed.

Had he listened to NO Quarter he would be in a much better position than the one he has boxed himself into..

And I believe that supports Larry and Susan’s point that everything on No Quarter is not aimed to hurt Obama.

He is going to be our President and for love of Country no one on No Quarter wants to see him fail.

However, I do wonder if Obama had started to speak out and set up de facto foreign policy that the whole “presumptuous” meme would be flying around here fast and furious, not to mention in the World Net Dailys of the world.

Yes, he’s spoken up about the economy, and he’s taken some crap about that for doing so.

I think that the Gaza situation represents a tremendous challenge to Obama and Hillary, however I think they’ll be able to rise to the occasion. That certainly guarantees nothing in that region (sadly, very little is going to solve that mess in our lifetimes).

I do agree that Larry has been much more conciliatory and measured in his praise and criticism since the election. No one is either in the tank or reflexively obstructionist here.

Great post. The selection of O-shit by the powers that be, has made the extreme left babbling drooling psychos.

I actually get scared when I see what some of them write….in PUBLIC.

Like O, their idol, travel the lowest form, in the gutter, to achieve their prize-any means for the end is fine by them. No accountability, no integrity, no respect. Glad to not be a part of their groupthink.

I can’t say that I’m shocked at all to learn of yet another crooked election. To me, the real news was that DK is in the toilet.

My AA friend in NJ laughed when she told me everyone she knew voted over and over for the FraudO. AA’s got up at 5:30 am to make their rounds of multiple voting. Her kid made her get up early and go ballot stuffing for nObama.

  • wodiej

Not suprised at all by the immature, moral less comments. Did we expect any less after the election was stolen??

If they weren’t worried, they wouldn’t bother.

I know this is upsetting, but don’t let these folks get you down. In some bizarre way, they offer you free publicity with their stunts. And I could not care less about this whole weblog award thing. I would not even have known about it had not not been for NQ. In the grand scheme of my day, it is utterly meaningless.

You lot will go down in history. Whenever and wherever there is an election for you to lose, you will be there, complaining that the rules are unfair and that those unfair rules have caused voter fraud.
