I Just Cannot Keep Up

I bet Roland Burris can’t either. First, according to NBC Chicago, Obama “forcefully” sided with the Senate, and Harry “No One Gets To Come Into My Clubhouse If I Don’t Want Them Here” Reid, saying that while Burris is a good man, he wasn’t going to get the secret handshake to gain admittance. Okay, maybe not in those words, but in these:

“Roland Burris is a good man and a fine public servant, but the Senate Democrats made it clear weeks ago that they cannot accept an appointment made by a governor who is accused of selling this very Senate seat. I agree with their decision, and it is extremely disappointing that Governor Blagojevich has chosen to ignore it. I believe the best resolution would be for the Governor to resign his office and allow a lawful and appropriate process of succession to take place. While Governor Blagojevich is entitled to his day in court, the people of Illinois are entitled to a functioning government and major decisions free of taint and controversy,” said President-elect Obama.

Oh, no. Obama is “extremely disappointed.” Well, join the freakin’ club, Obama. You aren’t the only one. There are millions of us who are disappointed. Heck, despairing might even be the word of choice. But I digress.

Now, Obama has changed his tune (surprise!!!!!). According to this CBS Report, Obama is now saying:

Mr. Obama was just asked about the Burris appointment during his morning press conference. The president-elect did not take a position, saying it was “a Senate matter.”

Mr. Obama noted he had known Burris for years, adding: “If he gets seated, then I’m going to work with Roland Burris, just like I work with all the other senators.”

Newsflash from the Department of Duh: You already took a position, Mr. Obama. Perhaps YOU should learn hot to use that whole Google thing to remind yourself of what you said about a week ago. Just sayin’.

And for the record, the Senate does NOT get to decide who they will allow in or not. It’s a matter of who each state sends. You might want to go take another little look-see at that pesky piece of paper you find to be so “deeply flawed,” the Constitution. Just a thought!

But Obama isn’t the only one who is probably making Burris’ head spin (and mine). The above-mentioned Senate owner (hey, that’s how he is acting), Harry Reid. His constant stand that Burris will now be admitted to his playgroup is now weakening:

After repeatedly saying they wouldn’t accept him and turning him away Tuesday, it now appears that Senate Democrats eventually plan to seat Roland Burris after all.

After Burris met privately with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, Reid told reporters today that he hopes “sooner rather than later” the full Senate will vote on whether to accept Burris.

And get this:

Reid said he and Burris met for 45 minutes and since he had “never met the man,” it was “very enlightening,” calling Burris “obviously very engaging, a very nice man.”

Well, by all means, Harry, if the only criterion you have is if you think someone is “nice” enough, glad to hear Burris suits you on that level.

I have written about this before, but holy crap – our Senate is a very small junior high school. Grow the hell up already, Harry!! Sheesh!

By the way, in the article linked above about Reid, there is a link to a US News and World Report article (by Michael Barone)regarding issues of legality and seating Burris. I’ll bottom-line it for you: they have to seat him.

In the meantime, I think the following should be Burris’ theme song:

So, what will it be? Will he stay or will he go?

Is Obama making a TV appearance full with the media at his command again tomorrow? I think I have seen him everyday for this pass week on the tube, so I hope he is going for broke and giving us another bit of wisdom for Friday.

I really can’t keep up with this guy, he sure loves the bright lights and today he spoke I felt as if someone was not waking me up and reminding me know the election campaign is over, as I listened to him honestly I got nothing, I just kept wondering exactly what he was trying to say, he is helping the country but he is sinking us into more debt, I guess my simple mind cant understand what that will mean for me in the future.

  • http://deleted Buzz LaRue

Obama is looking like a n00b. Which is exactly what he is…

LOL – Obama is “extremely disappointed”. It looks like some of the Democrats are already extremely disappointed at his economic stimulus package and the plan to give small businesses 3,000 incentive for hiring new employees. Yeah, right…an employee only costs that much money…

But back to Burris…Obama and the dems got outsmarted by one of their own. Obama should do exactly what what all his little obot minions like to advise.

    Just get over it.

Glad Obama finally wants a senator for us here in Illinois who will do something! What did he just say, “The people of Illinois are entitled to a functioning government.” Ha-ha-ha. He didn’t think it was important while he supposedly was our senator. He did nothing for Illinois, travelled around the country and the world on Illinois taxpayer dollars, collected his salary and ran for President. I think Burris may actually try to do his job, be a senator, show up for meetings, perhaps VOTE. He’s probably the best choice around. And that phony hypocrisy, arrogance and shock of Obama, Reid and Co. that Blago was attemtping to “sell the senate seat”, gosh, it isn’t that long ago since Obama and the DNC bought the presidency for Obama! Could they all have forgotten the details so quickly?…

  • IBI

The poor senators — they’re just trying to figure out Illinois/Chicago politics. And it gets so complicated because it’s still unclear to many just how close Obama and crew are to Blagohevich. If they agree to Burris as senator, will Blago then make nice and not spill what he knows?

Meanwhile, what’s happening with the US Prosecutor? Need to keep him high profile so he doesn’t get disappeared/out of a job by the new administration as a was to get Illinois politics back to “normal”.

    Interesting article from Bloomberg News…

I remember when the Obots were complaining that Hillary liked to use focus groups…

Wonder how they will feel now that The One is using them and, err, changing words for better effect like George W. Bush!

We had Obama on for a couple of minutes because no one was close enough to change the channel and I have to agree that he loves the limelight and says absolutely NOTHING.

As for Fitzgerald and Operation Board Games, it looks like all things are still in play and Blagojevich is still the governor. It makes you wonder what both Blago and Rezko, who hasn’t been sentenced yet, have on Chicago wonderboy Obama.

We have a bet that there’s something behind Bush not letting Obama move into the Blair? house…LOL

Two Wars, Economy in shambles and we still carrying on a campiagn to taint the only black senator appointed to the Senate. Where was the taint with Obama and his terrorists pals? If Obama is not tainted by guilt by association why is Roland Burris tainted? The Democrats chickens are coming home to roost!!!!! Get rid of Harry Reid.

The Hill Dmeocrats need to allow the State of Illinois handfle this matter. This is a state issue. The Office of the PEBO should never have gotten involve in this matter. WHat is more serious Roland Burris taint or commenting on the war in the Middle East.

And on another note, I wish Obama would stop with all this negative talk on the economy. Everytiem this man opens his mouth with a major speech, the stock market fails to rally.

Obama President Elect of Doom and Gloom!!!!!

  • Mr. X

I’m a Canadian, but Obama is making critical errors now that the elections are over. The problem with these appearances is that the entire world gets to see them. I didn’t like Bush, but after 9/11, people knew that he meant business. Even if he did go into a wrong country, the fact that he did it meant that one message was loud and clear. Anyone messes with the US and shit is gonna go down. Bystanders be warned.

With Obama, I don’t get any sense of decisiveness. No sense of authority at all. It’s like his modus operandi is whatever way the wind blows so as not to upset whichever apple cart he deems too bothersome on that particular day.

IOW, he’s still acting as if he’s in the Illinous senate and voting “present”. He’s taking all sides or no sides. In the end, there’s no difference. A wimp is a wimp. What he actually is doesn’t matter. He’s already forged the wimp image to unparalleled success. Forever the victim.

  • http://deleted Buzz LaRue

Obama may just prove out to be the “lights are on but nobody’s home” president.

  • rolling thunder

Reid said he and Burris met for 45 minutes and since he had “never met the man,” it was “very enlightening,” calling Burris “obviously very engaging, a very nice man.”

WTF? Of course he’s a nice man. Look into his eyes. They better seat him. Dirty Harry thinks if they are NOT crooked then he doesn’t want them…

On a side note about the weblogs vote cheating..where the cheaters have bee hard at work with clearing their isp and revoting…
All polls are subject to correction for overvoting, or other identified cheating, prior to the finalization of the results. Polls that hava vote totals adjusted will be listed here.

I wish Obama would stop with all this negative talk on the economy

Yeah I saw him on TV last night saying this is the worst ecomony ever and we are in for it…‘hope’ you can believe in
Anyway, I was hollering at the TV saying stop with the negative comments on the economy.
Just goes to show you he knows nothing about politics. No other President would go on the news and give a speech about gloom and doom especially after they ran a campaign based in HOPE! STFU nOBAMA!

  • Winston

“I guess my simple mind cant understand what that will mean for me in the future.”

Fear not. The Overlord is all knowing.

That means, for all you rappers, that “Obama is the smartest pimp is the hood”.

Now sit back, don’t worry and don’t ask any questions, the Politicians will save us.

57 million Americans who didn’t vote for Barry Hussein nObama are silently saying to themselves, OSHIT‘oh shit’

  • Steve1

Barry Soetoro is flipping all over the place, just like he did in the primaries. Only problem, he is PE and people are getting confused with all of his flipping. One minute, he is stands for something, like condemning Rollin Burns, the next time-Soetoro-Obama flips. Now he’s flipping for Blago! WTF? Soetoro, a person of good judgment??? This is getting to funny…now we have, several major Dem Senators knocking Barry Soetoro’s proposed taax-cuts. Including John Kerry! What-I guess he is a little upset he didn’t get SOS!

Not a single word in the MSM about the constitutional eligibility of PEBO.
WND tried to buy a 60 sec. commercial regarding this, but none would accept it.

I seems that NQ can’t keep up with the latest developments regarding Roland Burris. Here is my analysis of his status.

And I am sticking with it.

    Roland Burris,

  • Sassy

Amy, I read an article today that sources reported that BO told Reid to resolve the issue and seat Burris.
I’m doubtful that he is the first pol from Chicago that is as “pure as the driven snow”, but he won’t be my Senator, so I don’t care.
I liked Pat Buchanan’s suggestion that ten or twelve of the dems Senators resign their seats in favor of more minorities, to reflect their 25% voting block for BO.
    Works for me!

it seems like obama thought the public would be against seating anyone blago selected. then, it seems the winds shifted, and the racist comments started, and it appeared the public was more on the side of seating burris, he flopped. (or they figured out that Blago was legally right…) but, we’re used to his flip-a-flopping!

And the supposedly learned professor of the US Constitution – Obama – thought that somehow the Burris appointment would be turned back.

I guess he skipped the chapters on the legal fundamentals of the Senate and the one about the presidential requirement of being a natural born citizen of the US.

Politico deleted 2 of my comments about Obama. The comments were no more derrogatory than any the Obamabots posts (and I did not use profanity as they do.) I will not give Politico any more hits.

The “Hope” has already been fulfilled: he has been elected. The concept is no longer useful–though it might resurface before 2012. Now it’s time to move-on to the next crew of manipulative bamboozling super-concepts.

The next operative concept will probably be Blame. I suspect he will be riding that horse a lot. Bush should bear a hell of a lot of Blame. Once he’s exhausted, other scapegoats will emerge. And he’s always got Hillary standing by.

There is nothing more problematic than creating drama where there is none…or creating more drama that what is necessary.

Blago is still the governor and sorry folks, he gets to make the call.

The economy is in the tank. Whether or not the stock market goes up or down isn’t really the point. Bernake could fart the wrong way and the Dow would lose a hundred points. No one is buying and the banks are not lending.

And to add insult to injury, That One makes dull speeches bereft of any meaning designed to induce both nausea and narcolepsy at the same time, thereby killing the patient, albeit peacefully.

  • Prem

When I heard him on NPR today saying that the economy is going to get worse before it gets better made me want to yell at him to STFU, too. He is not encouraging at all—he is dismissive and arrogant. Whenever I hear him, he sounds like he is a “know-it-all” and we need to listen to him or else. The trouble is he never really says anything of importance or it’s muddled, or it’s extremely negative.

I still think he was “installed” as POTUS because there is a grander plan to let our economy go bust and he is the perfect person to let it happen. I don’t think Hillary would let it happen and the true puppeteers knew that. Sorry to sound negative but that is just my gut feeling about how the Obamafraud came to be “selected.”

  • Prem

ROFLMAO! OMG! Hilarious! Nausea & narcolepsy at the same time! Brilliant! So true!

buzz — I have to feel sorry for Reid. Obama was the one who demanded that Burris not be seated. When things got too hot Obama turns around and its all Harry’s fault. Obama is going to need the support of the Senate Majority Leader if he wants to get anything done.

When I called Reid’s office today with regard to Obama’s Social Security remarks they were adamant that Reid’s position as not only not changed on SS and if anything he feels more strongly that SS should not be tampered with.

Obama appears to be ruffling feathers needlessly and it will come back to haunt him.
