Our Little Shop of Horrors

webshop-of-horrors_edited-2

I have to admit that I feel kinda sorry for the guy. I would for any President buying into our current crises (of which there are far more than pictured here), but especially for one who has no experience in dealing with any of them.

I wonder if (or how often) our President-Elect says to himself, “What the hell was I thinking?”

For all of our sakes, all I can say is “Let’s wish him luck.”

As for me, I am thinking of trying to grow my own food.

  • Clara Barton

    Pat,
Me thinks if more of us were paying attention to your earlier cartoon of Rove in front of the candy store, then we wouldn’t be looking at His Excellency recoiling when he realizes just what horrors he’s stepped in.

The reason he’s not even to the point of wondering “What was I thinking?” is that he is still not thinking along those lines. He gets to be the Pres and sleep in the WH with Meshell. What? You mean there are decisions to be made? As long as they don’t come at 0300.

    We’re screwed.

    • Ferd Berfle

And that is the crux of the problem. He wants the glory and the perks that go along with the office but not the real work, which is beneath an idol (and an unmitigated snob) for the ages such as him. All he wants to do is beat his gums until we’re deaf or wished we were.

      • socalannie

        Haha! Agreed!

  • Sam Copeland

Fortunately he has Hillary at State and Clintonistas all around him. It is just like that Saturday Night Live skit.

    • Ferd Berfle

Fortunately he has Hillary at State and Clintonistas all around him.

They’re only the fall-back go to people to which to shift the blame when the crap hits the fan so that Barry doesn’t get caught in the backspatter. That One has surrounded himself with competent people who will ultimately fall on their swords for a huckster.

    • Ani

Exactly. I have brought that one up a dozen times — Obama smoking cigarettes at 3 AM in the Oval Office calling Hillary (with curlers and an exfoliating mask on), asking her what the hell to do about some foreign policy crisis.

Gotta hand it to ‘em — SNL really called that one on the nose.

      • Ani

By the way, Pat, fabulous cartoon — as usual!!

      • Beener

Ani you represent this website and you want it to be voted as best political coverage and you have comments like this. What a joke!

How can anyone take you seriously? Your comments are so juvenile!

Obama has a very difficult job thanks to the disaster the Republican party has left this country in.

He may lack executive experience (Hillary has no more), but he is a very smart guy. I would rather have a smart guy in the office during this period of severe challenges than a dope like McCain and Palin. I doubt you appreciate the challenge Obama has in front of him. If he can keep you and everyone else from losing their jobs than that may alone be enough to call him a success.

        • Ferd Berfle

          Your comments are so juvenile!

You want juvenile? Wait around to see your fellow traveler obamabots make their grand entrance with their prepackaged pablum designed for mass consumption by the unwashed herd. Too bad such hogwash doesn’t work at all here. Oh…you are part of that unwashed herd that bought it hook, line, and sinker and are now paid to repeat it. Never mind–go back to your obot trolling.

  • Don X

Nice depiction of the ominous threats he faces, Pat. Obviously, the window isn’t wide enough to include all the horrors Obama faces, including Iran, Afhanistan, Pakistan, immigration issues and many more. Perhaps the best thing he can do is to attempt to surround himself with experienced people who hopefully will be committed to work together to help solve some of the difficult problems we all face as a nation. Also, his determination to reach across the aisle and to mobilize the public to join him in an effort to get involved in the process of problem solving. If he can’t make some headway with at least some of the major problems on several fronts, it is likely that, as some are predecting, he will be a one-termer. I would not want to be in his shoes; however, I wish him well.

    • Barium

The article’s title is also bogus. You cannot separate Hamas from the Palestinian people. You kill Hamas, then you are killing Palestinian family members
      ————-
When you put it that way, I think “he better not stupidly piss off TPTB in the CIA, and the military, like Cheney did, or he’s on his own.”

      Whew!

Glad it’s not me in his job.

      • Barium

Sorry, I was replyng to your quote:

Nice depiction of the ominous threats he faces, Pat. Obviously, the window isn’t wide enough to include all the horrors Obama faces, including Iran, Afhanistan, Pakistan, immigration issues and many more.

But I guess it works the other way, too.

    • http://ksclematis ksclematis

It doesn’t matter how many experts he has to surround him, HE still has to make the BIG Decisions. Can he make the right decisions?
We’ll find out in due time. Lotza luk O!

      • ritamary

If Obama maintains the unitary executive set up by Bush/Cheney he can just do like Bush did. Obama keeps the jobs he likes to do and gives Biden the jobs he does not want.

  • Ferd Berfle

That One, with the help of his moronic minions, got the job so he’s going to have to own it and stop the endless oratorical jib-flapping; roll up his bell sleeves; and actually get his little hands dirty from doing some real work for a change. No running for another office; no blaming Bush or Clinton or sunspot activity or solar flares for his mounting troubles.

Nope–he wanted it so bad, he had to steal it–so now we get to hold his feet to the fire until he either does something, resigns, or ends up with a serious blisters.

  • oowawa

I have to admit that I feel kinda sorry for the guy

Pat, after chuckling over your cartoons and reading your stories for some time now, I’ve developed a pretty good image of you as a kind and tolerant person. You “feel kind of sorry for the guy,” and that’s what I would have expected.

I do not feel kind of sorry for the guy. It wasn’t easy for him to get himself installed in the “Little Shop of Horrors,” and he broke a lot of rules and hurt a lot of people in getting to where he is now. Of course, he didn’t really understand that it would be a “Little Shop of Horrors.” He imagined the glory of the position, and imagined he could dance his way through his presidency while others did the work for him. Sorry for him? No. I feel sorry for us.

  • JohnnyB

    Another great cartoon, Pat.

We’re all in the same ship, and we’ve got only one “leader”. We better all do what we can to help get us out of so many messes. We owe our Country that much, and we owe the rest of the world, as well.

Yes, we all have issues with the primary process, the delegate voting at the convention, but we now must do what we can to support/change the direction of our leaders. Keep their feet to the fire, support where you can, and make your voices heard.
For the good of our Planet Earth and its inhabitants.

    • oowawa

We’re all in the same ship

But is it the Good Ship Lollipop, as O would have us believe, or is it the Titanic?
Or the Ship of Fools perhaps? If we suspect that the Captain of the ship has pretty much no naval experience, should we be concerned?

If it is like the Titanic, after the iceberg hits, I have a good idea who will be the first to the lifeboats, and it won’t be the women and children.

At any rate, playing with the associations engendered by the “ship” metaphor is not very reassuring.

      • Ferd Berfle

That One as Captain will cut his own tow line at some point, I’m certain.

      • avwrobel

        Nice!

  • blue orchid

Though Obama tried his best to denigrate Clinton’s accomplishments during his campaign, it seems that he is well aware that he did that in bad faith. Why else would he appoint so many Clinton’s people to all the vital positions in his administration ?

I think deep down Obama knew that Hillary is better qualified than him to be President.

    • yttik

I think obama knew hillary was more qualified than him and I think he was even aware that he had no idea WTH he was doing. You can see it in his cabinet picks, he’s like oh crap, I better find some people that know what they’re doing. No doubt he had to run and ask the Clinton’s who to pick.

He wanted to “win’ the presidency like it was a basketball game or something, a trophy he could put on his mantle. Look, I won the presidency! He’s a lot like Bush that way. It’s not about service or trying to help your country, it’s about building your personal legacy.

I don’t feel the least bit sorry for him. I pity us, however.

    • tek

He appointed all the Clinton people because he doesn’t have any experience and he needs someone with experience. He (and the rat pack) are going to try to re-implement the Clinton years and take experience for the Clintons’ ideas and policies so they need the Clinton staff.

But all those Obots didn’t want a second Clinton administration, that would be a terrible thing. And they don’t want political dynasties, but they’re all pulling for Caroline Kennedy to be the totally inexperienced senator from New York because her name is Kennedy.

  • HARP

Maybe Obama can borrow this song from the British.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsEqC3n0A4U&feature=related

    • oowawa

Well, we have to do a rap version, but the lyrics are perfect. You don’t even have to change the video–95% of the folks who voted O will think these are all scenes of the good old USA. You might need to substitute the new O flag to really stir the noblest feelings at the heart’s core.

  • indypol

Obama is pathologically disinterested in governing, just like his predecessor, and he got away with the con, just like his predecessor. Why should he change now?

  • Oisafraud

    Pat! BRAVO!

    • Seattle Moss

I kept telling the obamabots be careful what you wish for. I knew all along that Obama was promising the moon to these hippies.
      Now the ultimate barack track.
Oh well..So much for the revolution

      Enjoy the ice age!

      • TeakwoodKite

Seattle, I have a telescope for looking at the moon…(as it unseasonable warm in the wine country this eve) it is a perfect night for seeing all the hippies running around up there

        Great window dressing Pat!

  • Barium

GM is opening a plant in MI to build lithium batteries for it’s VOLT.

Domestic manufacturing, green manufacturing, for the American market.

I think it is good news, among the all the bad, here.

    • Seattle Moss

      Barium,
      Thanks for the good news!

I have more good news…The dollar is starting to drop which means my exports to Canada are going to take off again
Also..Even though things look bad the end result may be good for the US. The playing field is being decimated. No country is spared this collapse.
Because the US has a 14 trillion economy we will be the last country standing with investments of 7 trillion in reinventing America.

The result will be that manufacturing here at home will make a tremendous comeback.
This will still be the American century.

      Think positive!

      • Peggy Sue

Boy, I hope you’re right, Seattle. As for Obama, I keep hoping [against my gut instincts] that he’ll be better at POTUS than I expect. There does seem to be a growing grumbling in far-left quarters that Obama may not come through on all the hopey-dopey change.

But do I feel sorry for him? No. I feel sorry for the rest of us.

        Loved the cartoon, Pat!

      • oowawa

        Think positive!

Okay! After I sell my house, I WILL have enough money left over to buy that little trailer with gingham curtains I’ve always wanted! (But in a month or so, I might have to leave out the gingham curtains).

        • oowawa

(And I might not have a car to pull it with.)

          • oowawa

(And I might not have enough money to put in the car that I no longer have to pull the little trailer with the gingham curtains that I probably won’t be able to afford . . . )

            But I’m not “thinking positive!”

            • oowawa

“to put gas in the car.”

              Okay, I’ll shut-up now.

  • Baba Rum Raisin

I feel sorry for him like the dimwit that my ex-wife ran off with…whatever he gets, he asked for, ran hard for, threw friends under the bus for, spent a billion bucks for.

Enjoy it, before it consumes you…and remember: WANTING and HAVING are two different things!

    • oowawa

With a name like “Baba Rum Raisin,” I thought you might be into calypso and tropical music, but this statement definitely needs to be expressed as a 12-bar blues. I don’t think O understands the blues. I suspect he soon will.

      • oowawa

Then again, in order to understand the blues, “soul” is an absolute necessity. You have to know what it feels like to be an old pair of boots with lots of hard miles. Will he get there someday? “Blind Lemon Obama,” “Huddie Hussein Ledbetter, Barackobelly,” I don’t think so.

        • Barium

          “Blind Lemon Obama,”

          Well, that’s just cruel.

          Funny, but cruel.

          • oowawa

            Funny, but cruel.

As Steve Martin once said, “Comedy isn’t pretty.”

  • brodie

I’m thinking that maybe Hillary is saying “Gosh am I glad it wasn’t me!” Of course, she’ll have to fix the mess overseas, but I think she’s up to the task. Funny how all that she said is coming back at Barky- poor baby- not! I feel sorry for all who will be caught up in the FUBAR that will ensue, not Barky who wanted the title so badly he cheated to get it. Serves that one right.

  • Sycamore

I don’t feel sorry for Obama at all! He lied, cheated and misrepresented himself over and over again to win the Presidency. Now he has reached his, “What was I thinking moment?” and is freaking out! I too love the way he bashed the Clinton administration on the campaign trail, then appointed half of them to be on board with him. Obama will say or do anything to get what he wants and he doesn’t mind who he steps on to get it.

I also won’t feel sorry for him when they haul him off in handcuffs because it is proven (and it will) that he is not eligible to be POTUS because he is not “natural born”. He has perpetrated the single biggest hoax on American than anyone in U.S. history. Those that voted for him will feel really stupid someday soon. The media should be held accountable, as should Pelosi and Dean. Hope Obama likes stripes and solitary cause that is what is in his future!

    • Johnny Smithfield

Now he has reached his, “What was I thinking moment?” and is freaking out!

What are you even talking about? Obama may have many flaws, but self-confidence is not one of them. I don’t see him “freaking out” right now.I think what Pat was trying to say is it is time for all of us to put aside bitter feelings from the campaign, move forward and wish him and the rest of the government well for OUR OWN SAKE!

If he’s not up to the job, then we’re all royally screwed as in another Great Depression kind of way. ‘I told you so’ may make you feel better, but it’s not going to keep the factory open or make the payments on your mortgage.

  • avwrobel

Its all about self-preservation and self-promotion with this weird guy. Public posturing to get past the moment, and then all is forgotten. Thank god NOQUARTER is here to make sure we don’t forget. By the way, the birth certificate issue isn’t going away.

    • ritamary

Public posturing to get past the moment has worked well for Obama so far. Will it continue to work? Is the rest of world as dumb as the American public?

I tried to give Obama a chance and put the racism, misogyny, lies and cheating of the campaign in the past. Then we have Blagogate where Obama immediately chooses to lie again. By the way, has everyone noticed that Burris will be seated as Senator, as was predicted on No Quarter?

  • rolling_thunder

    I can’t stop laughing.
The Usurper thinks he can get away with shit for long. Hahahaha. Well Karma is swift. Justice Roberts will be in a world of pain and treason for doing the inauguration for this Usurper illegal alien.
So the Usurper took a pile of money to Hawaii to bribe get some fake birth certificates and Rahm went to Kenya at the same time to bribe pay to destroy the Usurpers birth certificate there. hahahahaha He thinks he’s going to be dictator…karma baby. What a crock of shet. This bloviating lip flapper who stole this from Hillary will get a swift taste of Karma. This is rightfully Hillary’s gig. I hope she runs in 2012 and beats the pants off the creep. If we make it that long with a Usurper in there. What a constitutional crisis. They are trying to operate outside the constitution.

  • Pkat

I don’t feel sorry for the a-hole either. I hope he falls flat on his face. I don’t hope good for him at all. He wanted it, he unscrupulously got it, now let him do it. Like the guy on MAD TV…let me do it. OK DO IT A-HOLE!!

Then I’m going to start bad mouthing him like all get out. I’m not going to let up. I’m going to point out every broken promise, every fumble, every mistake, every miss-handled issue.

RAKE HIM OVER THE COALS AND MAKE HIM LOOK LIKE HE WAS NOT EXPERIENCED ENOUGH BECAUSE HE DAMN SURE WON’T ADMIT IT.

  • Pkat

    That’s how they treated Hillary!!!

Do you think we’ll even see any of the Trillion extra dollars he wants to spend. OBOY he can’t wait to get his grubby hustler paws on the keys to the federal reserve bank. Blacks voted for him as a revenge on slavery and the whites. Black Pride has nothing to do with it. victim mentality prevails.

  • Kathleen Wynne

How can anyone feel sorry for a man who has yet to be held accountable for his mistakes, setbacks, flip-flops or outright lies to the American people?

BO is walking into the oval office protected by the media, corporate big wigs, and the DNC. With Soros’ help, I’m sure BO will find a way to “buy-off” the republican party as well. I’m sure that will be cheaper than the cost of the White House was.

We all know that if anything goes wrong, it will be blamed on Hillary. Any bets?

    • Barium

The democratic party, the democratic congress is complicit in this mess, that is the dirty little secret they’re trying to hide.

They provided no opposition to Cheney, it’s my impression they never intended to: FISA, torture, GITMO, the whole mess belongs to them, too.

They plan to continue as is, and they will fall, too, except with BO at the helm, they’ll be easier to expose, I think, visibly held accountable.

      • Barium

And remember, they STOLE this election from Clinton.

        We certainly didn’t forget.

    • QueenofHearts

Actually, I’ve thought Obama maybe offered HRC Secretary of State to get her out of government once and for all. Think about it. He gets her out of the Senate, so she can’t oppose his policies there, or amass more power to run against him in 2012. This also has the happy coincidence of freeing up Hillary’s seat for Caroline, so Obama can give back the tit for tat for Caroline and Teddy agreeing to farcically bestow JFK’s mantle on Obama. Pay to play at its finest! Then, the moment Obama is in deep sh*t over some foreign policy bungle, he can throw Hillary under the bus and simply fire her to save himself. Gone. Voila. Hat trick! No more HRC in government, the Clintons are neutralized as any kind of force in the Democratic Party, and Caroline Kennedy is sitting in Hillary’s seat.

What do you think of my little theory?

      • ritamary

Makes a lot of sense and you are not the first person on NQ to put this theory forward.

  • Park Slope Pubby

He never says anything cheerful or upbeat about our country.

Roosevelt and Reagan, faced w/ economic problems, were always upbeat about America, but Obama really doesn’t like or believe in America, except for the most token statements.

This downer attitude is going to have terrible consequences for our county, plus the trillion dollar deficit. I have my own business, but I’m trying to unload it before the s. hits the fan. I agree about learning to grow your own food.

    • rolling_thunder

I’m closing my business too and putting things on hold or just working it as a shell.
Can we have Hillary back? She’s the only one who knows how to implement & execute the plan that Fraudbama “borrowed” from her.

    • oowawa

I agree about learning to grow your own food.

There will be a big market for a new book:

LMAO. I thought there might be a use for it other than killing trees and ruining machetes. Well, here where I’m at, we have plenty of both Kudzu and English Ivy. Maybe they’d taste good together.

        • oowawa

Ferd, I sure wish I lived down there in the Land o’ Plenty!

          • Ferd Berfle

Well, there’s plenty here, including more than a bit of fly ash downhill and downstream from me. It could be worse, though, I could be back at Hanford. At least here I have the benefit of a frying pan.

      • Ani

        ROFLMAO!!!

Yes, Kudzu. I remember it well.

Thanks for the great laugh, oowawa. I needed that.

      • ritamary

Someone needs to write a new cookbook for Southern California – 250 Wonderful Meals You Can Make with Cactus.

  • Sassy

Pat, I thought of your cartoons today when I saw one in our local paper.
Bush and BO were in the kitchen, Bush hands BO an apron while saying “it’s not as easy as it looks”.
There are boiling pots all over every surface…yeah, BO will be cooking!

  • oowawa

    yeah, BO will be cooking!

This is going to make it easier to start that diet.

  • rolling_thunder

The blacks pulled a schadenfreude on whites by voting for Fraudbama.

    • rolling_thunder

I forgot to say “by voting for Fraudbama multiple times” as directed by MEchelle in her CODED rally speeches.

    • tek

rt: white liberals are too dense to figure this out, blacks actually hoodwinked and bamboozled whites–with the help of the media and the DNC. Next, we’ll be handing the country over to hispanics who mostly have come in here illegally and the white liberals are doing everything they can to help more of them come in everyday.

  • jwrjr

I hope that Obama does well while in office (but I don’t expect it). Not because I want him to do well, but because if his presidency “crashes and burns” the rest of the country is likely to go with it.

  • EWard

Why would you feel sorry for BO? After all, he cheated, lied, and collected hundreds of millions of illegal donations to become the President-select.

When Obama uses the words “reinvestment” regarding his stimulus package, they are code words for socialism and welfare. Obama and the Democrats want us to be dependent on government handouts- also known as redistribution of wealth.

This country is in serious trouble not because of the economy but the new leadership in the White House.

Case in point – his new nominated energy secretary-Steven Chu hates both nuclear power and the coal industry…how can Chu create energy plans when he will be at war with the various industries that bring us power?

2nd case in point – the Democrats want offshore drilling in places where there is no oil or have placed too many restrictions to make it possible.

To drill for oil a state would need the approval of the surrounding states.

In addition, it is the federal government that would get most of the revenues and not the states.

BO will bankrupt this country. He needs to be forced to resign from office. Patrick Fitzgerald – this country needs your investigation to move forward.

  • Anyone

So let’s see, we would all be less worried if we had elected McCain and Sara … I can see Russia from my front door & let me get back to you on what publications I read…Palin was only heartbeats away from the presidency?

Now that is a thought too horrible to even contemplate!!

    • Ferd Berfle

We’d be better off than with your glorious False Messiah who is about to throw you boobs under the bus, too, right after giving you the proverbial finger that he’s never used before. LMAO

Don’t bother to ask anyone for a rope to drag your carcass out from under as there’s just no interest in it.

    • SWPAnnA

Palin bashers are far too comfortable in that lie. The woman worked her way through college, assimillated enough of what it took to get elected Governor of the state that processes as much corporate welfare as Iowa, Illinois and California combined, and after two years, still had an 80% approval rating from her electorate. She has no questionable associates and despite the petty, hate-driven tactics of the Gibsons, Courics and Shusters, Sarah Palin sent a message to young women: You can have the top job, be the decision maker and still look fabulous in silk and stillettos.

    • Angel

      Anyone says…

So let’s see, we would all be less worried if we had elected McCain and Sara … I can see Russia from my front door & let me get back to you on what publications I read…Palin was only heartbeats away from the presidency?

Now that is a thought too horrible to even contemplate!!

Anyone…there’s a thread here I really think you should read. You may find you can completely relate to everything it says. Quite a fascinating topic actually. NQ Blog Post You’ll Love!

    • Ani

By the way, Tina Fey said that I can see Russia from my house — Palin never said it. And she still has ten times more Executive and Governing experience that Mr. Obama — and by all accounts is doing a great job for her state.

Then again, how lucky for us to have PE Obama who takes a teleprompter with him to a diner and to a small rodeo ring (see CNN for a picture of this) — anyone who campaigns for 2 years and still needs a prompter to know his stuff when he keeps talking about the same issues worries me a little — or a lot.

      • Johnny Smithfield

I think you missed the point.

She sighted as her foreign policy “expertise” the fact that there is a small island off Alaska where one can see the Russian mainland (which she never visited). Tina Fey merely exaggerated the quote for comedic effect.

But I laughed just as hard when I heard Sarah Palin say it to Gibson, with Putin rearing his head or whatever. That was hilarious!

She should have just said “Charlie I’m a governor and thus have no foreign policy experience. BTW neither did Bill Clinton before he took office.” But no, her first instinct was to lie, lie, lie.

Thank God she will never sniff the WH!

        • tek

Johnny smithfield: your post is full of lies, lies, lies.

Sarah Palin discussed in detail the experience she had as a Governor with foreign policy. You Obama people show your insecurity and fear by hating Sarah Palin because she isn’t what liberals wanted. That doesn’t make her a bad or ineffective candidate. All the liberals we know (and it’s a lot because we are liberals) were scared to death of Sarah Palin and said so openly at various social functions. They said they were afraid Obama wasn’t going to win because McCain chose Palin. She must have some terrific appeal if so many liberals were so afraid she’d beat Obama.

And I wouldn’t bet the retirement fund that she’ll never be in the WH.

        • Magic Puzzle Box

Actually, I know someone who lives in Wasilla, and she works with communities there that have strong roots in Russia, including the Amish-like “old believers” and other Russian immigrant groups. And why did the Russians make that surprise visit to Alaska during the campaign after that discussion in the media? Was Putin kind of fascinated by her, like the Pakistan head was? Clearly, they didn’t think it was so stupid, or they would have said so.

sniff the white house? dang, you are disgusting.

        • Ferd Berfle

          “Sighted”? LMAO.

Lookey-there, I found my foreign policy experience down by the snowmobile.

Prior to commenting, kindly learn to spell. Try “cited”, next time.

And as for lying, no one does it better than your Boob-in-Chief Messiah, Chester. Your selective indignation is breathtaking in its sheer hypocrisy.

Funny, we never see a picture of him smoking, a thing that is anathema to the left wing.

Go back to the Obama cesspool!

He can’t–he was tossed under the bus, too.

    Pat –

Whether I agree with your opinions or not, I appreciate that you are understand the art of intelligent conversation and that you conduct your communications in a respectful manner –

but what I can not understand is how you allow yourself to be associated with the quality of people that follow your cartoons and messages.

    • Ferd Berfle

Your “quality” is nothing to write home about, Goober, considering you apparently get your news from the many voices populating your tiny little skull. You’re an obot who comes here castigating a former Vice Presidential candidate (still) for her “lack” of qualifications while selectively ignoring the stark lack of qualifications of your POTUS.

Cry us all a river, obamabot. You malodorous melodramatic mush ain’t making it so far.

    • Pat Racimora

Anyone–Thanks for the kind compliment, truly.

But No Quarter visitors are my peeps! They have stayed loyal to my work (whether they agree or not) and I appreciate them.

    • Ferd Berfle

      Thanks, EWard.

You know, it must be lonely for these scout obots, coming alone to a blog that won’t snap-to when they fracture and twist the English language into a pretzel in a puny attempt to win over a few more converts to the Kool-Aide Kumbaya-fest.

I doubt he ever say “What was I thinking?” He knew exactly what he was getting into: vacations in Hawaii in a nine million dollar house, loads of photo ops, being the celebrity figurehead (no wonder he loves Reagan) of the Powers That Be, and letting the men who orchestrated his candidacy and election worry about all the political decisions.

I had forgotten about him scribbling in a committee meeting: Just Shoot Me Now. That certainly says it all about this guy. Not interested in the nuts and bolts of governing, only in the perks.

I had forgotten about him scribbling in a committee meeting: Just Shoot Me Now. That certainly says it all about this guy. Not interested in the nuts and bolts of governing, only in the perks.

It relates to a West Wing rerun I just watched today. President Barlett was talking about how his basketball coach in prep school said (paraphrasing) the difference between winners and losers is not talent. Winners ALWAYS want the ball.

Obama strikes me as a man who does not want the ball. He talks as if he does, but when push comes to shove, when has BO actually ever taken the bull by the horns and made a command, no quivering or wavering, decision that he hasn’t flip flopped on later? Sometimes it’s causes, other times it’s people. And sometimes, he’s just not interested enough to even care to participate like the 100 plus times he voted “present”.

BO is going to have many balls thrown at him. I’m curious to see if he will pass them to a teammate to handle or actually set his feet and take the shot knowing that the outcome is truly on his shoulders alone.

    —————————————————–
Excuse me, what about all of Obama’s lies? That’s all he did during the campaigning. He is still doing it. Lying to every single american on a daily basis. But thats ok because he is democrat? Are we better of with Obama in office, and nit wit Joe Biden as VP? I seriously doubt that. At least McCain and Palin were truly about change, bringing government back to the people, for the people. They lost simply because they were republicans. But with Obama, he is not going to look out for our best interest. He only ever cared about achieving the next higher office without any significant accomplishments. Everything about him constantly screams PHONY. The sad thing is so many people believed him without ever questioning him on anything. Those that did question him were and still are crucified for having the audacity.

    • cynic

Have you forgotten that long series of negative republican campaign ads? Their entire 2008 national strategy was based on the promotion of lies and distortions about Barack Obama.

Meanwhile–unlike Barack Obama–they denied the reality of a growing economic crisis for months. The economic fundamentals were sound, they assured us.

      Yeah. Right.

      • Eidnoreid

Really, because the msm was just spinning everything to defend their faux messiah, all obama can do it just point out the obvious…it’s sad when he only benefits from our country’s miseries so he can pretend to be a hero to magically save us from our problems, it’s sick.

        • Ferd Berfle

Indeed, Ednoreid. He is such a shiftless creature. He lied his way into office only to take the same positions HRC would have. But the bots just had to have their False Messiah. Thanks for nothing bots. We could have had the real thing but get a facsimile, instead.

Oh, and don’t complain, bots, as That One gives you that finger you said he never used and throws you and your $0.05 per post under the bus.

      • Ferd Berfle

And Barack’s campaign was based on lies about McCain AND about himself. He lied about almost everything and what he didn’t lie about, he tried to hide. While he is transparent, his record certainly isn’t.

And you’re no cynic, you’re a gainsaying bot. Nice try but no one here buys manure by the crockful as you’ve just presented, even if it is disguised as souffle.

I don’t feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for us. Unfortunately the Pres. race has become a POPULARITY contest, not unlike American idol. We (they) are not looking for the brightest, most intelligent on issues that matter, we (they) are looking for someone you would want to have a beer with (George W), someone who is funny (unlike Al Gore), someone who is a good speaker (Obama) but not well-versed in issues or solutions. IMO, the biggest con was not Madoff, it was Barack Obama, who conned America into making him president!

  • Rich

Wonderful Cartoon! In one cartoon you captured many of the major problems this country faces. It also shows why now, more then ever in our history, we regarless of party, need to put together.

We know what the country intends or is going to try and do for you. The question is what are “WE” going to do for our country.

  • Beener

Bush wrote a lot of checks and Obama is going to have to find a way to cash them.

Thank god we have Obama rather than McCain. McCain would not have had a clue and would have been a complete disaster!!! McCain and his party are the guys that got us in these messes. There is no one left with any intelligence in the Republican party. They are dropping like flys.

    • Ferd Berfle

That’s a crock and akin to saying everyone in the former Democratic party is a southside tough from Chicago.

McCain is not Bush just as HRC is not That One. You really need to think prior to posting, troll, since it amply demonstrates your shallow thought processes when you don’t. Either that, or stay off the Arkansas Wagon Varnish when posting.

Oh, and the plural of fly is flies, not flys.

Is there no end to this cult-like worshipping of That One?. Even bushbots weren’t this pathetic-and that is saying a lot.

  • susanclare

Pat, so nice to again see one of your toons. Looks like Hillary and other Clintonistas will be doing all the work for him. How about that for a cartoon theme? As I watched Hillary at the confirmation hearing yesterday, I couldn’t help wondering what she was thinking…especially while that j— Kerry
was speaking. All of a sudden she’s great, experienced, intelligent and capable. Imagine that! I think our next challenge will be to pass the ERA!!!
