A Wise Perspective On The Man Behind The Mask and *Open Thread*

Despite the longest presidential campaign in history, so many in the mainstream media have stated of late that they still do not have a handle on the real Barack Obama. Further, they are scratching their collective heads as to how he really plans to govern. Well, his policy positions are, shall we say, flexible. In light of this, we thought it only fitting to share an insightful comment that was left by one of our posters, Apishapa, on Larry Johnson’s thread earlier today, Getting A Handle On Hate.
All thanks to Apishapa for sharing these thoughts on P.E. Obama’s persona and what he needs to do in the days to come:
What I told my daughter who voted for Obama because she felt McCain would be a worse choice after Hillary ceased to be an option is this. I hope Obama is a better President than I think he will be. I think he is a fool and a liar. He’s proven his lack of character again and again in the lies he’s told and his complete lack of conscience in throwing one group after another to the wolves at first indication they might become a political liability. He is completely without a moral compass as far as I can discern.
However, we are stuck with him and I hope for the sake of this nation I love that he proves me wrong. I am somewhat heartened that Hillary will be there to try to steer us in the right direction.
However, Obama is not Martin Luther King Jr. He is not JFK or RFK and he is not Abe Lincoln. …
It is time for this man to tell this country who he is and try to form a thought on his own without stealing everyone else’s legacies. I have never seen anyone so obsessed with trying to claim he represents the legacy of every great man in our history without ever providing any evidence he is capable of doing a damned thing. It is time to cowboy up.
If he is going to save this country he needs to be a man himself and stop playing dress up. This country is in serious peril and we need a true leader capable of walking in his own shoes, not a child playing make believe he is someone else.
Thoughts?
Chat away.
