I've treasured some of his speeches on the Constitution. But when he ran again in 2006, I had mixed feelings. Sounds good to me. He did a great job yesterday on FISA. Btw: I've heard from veterans' groups that Nancy Pelosi has been a true champion for them -- they really think highly of her hard work for veterans -- and that finally, with a Democratic majority, they're beginning to see improvements. (The newsletters I get every week from Pattty Murray, primarily on veterans' issues, confirm that.... it's taking time, and the president hasn't been helpful, but they're getting some great bills passed. The latest is a Wounded Warriors bill. Of course, the media never report those successes so it's a miracle if anyone hears about it... I heard about it in Murray's new newsletter.)
