Hillary, Murdering Bitch

We got her now. It is bad enough that she whacked Vince Foster (at least that’s what the rightwing crazies say), but she has now crossed the line. She helped kill Benazir Bhutto, a Pakistani woman promoting democracy. That’s downright heinous. Thank God that Senator Obama’s spokesman was on the job today and ensured that Hillary would not escape from another murder. According to Obama’s mouthpiece, David Axelrod:

Obviously, one of the reasons that Pakistan is in the distress that it’s in is because al-Qaeda is resurgent, has become more powerful within that country and that’s a consequence of us taking the eye off the ball and making the wrong judgment in going into Iraq. That’s a serious difference between these candidates and I’m sure that people will take that into consideration.” . . . “She was a strong supporter of the war in Iraq, which we would submit, was one of the reasons why we were diverted from Afghanistan, Pakistan and al-Qaeda, who may have been players in this event today, so that’s a judgment she’ll have to defend,” Axelrod said.

In case you failed logic in college, Axelrod believes that Bhutto’s death is a direct consequence of Hillary’s support for the resolution that authorized the use of force in Iraq. Why? Because the resources committed in Iraq were shifted away from Afghanistan, al-Qaeda seized the opening, regenerated its capabilities, and is running around Pakistan willy nilly killing aspiring democrats because of Hillary’s vote several years ago. Let’s not even consider that General Pervez Musharaf had a hand in this sordid affair. Nope, it was Hillary working hand-in-glove with the terrorists.

Fortunately, Axelrod did not point the finger of blame at any other candidate for the Democratic presidential nod. He also apparently is satisfied that George Bush’s hands are clean on this matter. Otherwise, we would have heard something I am sure about Bush’s guilt along with Hillary’s.

I never realized that Hillary was so powerful. Her vote and her vote alone in 2002 was the deciding factor that pushed the Senate and ultimately President Bush over the brink and into war with Iraq.

Not buying this? Neither am I. My preceding paragraphs are absurd. Unfortunately, I am not manufacturing Axelrod’s quotes. His remarks, made with the full consent of Senator Obama, are not only ridiculous, they are obscene. I have made the point previously that Obama appears to be the candidate the rightwing crazies are wild about. Name me one other Democrat who has tried to play the terrorist fear card like this? Just one? Anyone now doubt that Obama’s crowd is reading and using the Karl Rove playbook for political success?

Obama’s twitting about terrorism:

I am shocked and saddened by the death of Benazir Bhutto in this terrorist atrocity. She was a respected and resilient advocate for the democratic aspirations of the Pakistani people. We join with them in mourning her loss and stand with them in their quest for democracy and against the terrorists who threaten the common security of the world.

This sure has the sound of a good old George Bush speech warning us about islamofascists just before ratcheting up the homeland security threat warning system. The terrorists are coming to get us and its Hillary’s fault. If there was any doubt that Barack Obama is neither qualified nor ready to assume the highest office in the land, today’s conduct under fire should erase all doubts.

That is Obama’s OWN official statement. He’s miming George W. Bush’s obsessive language about terrorists.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Obama TWICE used the word “terrorist.” (terrorist and terrorists). Note the avoidance of “ratcheting it up” contrast in Sen. Clinton’s statement:

Clinton: “I am profoundly saddened and outraged by the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, a leader of tremendous political and personal courage. I came to know Mrs. Bhutto over many years, during her tenures as Prime Minister and during her years in exile. Mrs. Bhutto’s concern for her country, and her family, propelled her to risk her life on behalf of the Pakistani people. She returned to Pakistan to fight for democracy despite threats and previous attempts on her life and now she has made the ultimate sacrifice. Her death is a tragedy for her country and a terrible reminder of the work that remains to bring peace, stability, and hope to regions of the globe too often paralyzed by fear, hatred, and violence.”

      • Shirin

So, Hillary has a more savvy P.R. director. So what?

        • Percy

Shirin, no, Hillary’s P.R. Director is covering a viable presidental candidate.

          • Shirin

So is Obama’s P.R. director – at least it seems so from the polls.

Either one of them is apt to be a foreign policy disaster based on their records, which are near-identical, except that Hillary has had more time to prove how much she loves using the military as a tool of foreign policy.

            • Percy

Shirin it is sure hard to have a reasonable conversation with you. No way can you match Obama and Hillary foreign policy experience. Sure there are candidates who outweigh both of them with experience! Yet between the two of them, Hillary has met with more work leaders and respected by them, then Obama can even name. Heck, he has not even traveled Europe, silly girl. I will let you live in your bubble and drink the kool aid of Obama.

              • Shirin

What I was comparing was not the amount of experience. What I was comparing was voting records and policy statements. Yes, I agree that Hillary has more experience than Obama – that is not difficult to accomplish. Even I have more experience, and have probably even met more leaders than he has. That does not qualify me to run the country.

And it is interesting that despite all her experience, Hillary’s voting record and policy statements look an awfully lot like Obama’s do. And I repeat, once again, that Hillary (and also Obama) has stated her intention of significantly increasing the size and budget of the military. That combined with the fact that she has repeatedly, both as First Lady, and as a Senator, demonstrated her preference for use of the military as a foreign policy tool, does not bode well either for the United States or for the rest of the world.

    • anon

But Susan, please! *None* of the candidates gave a rip about Benazir Bhutto or was even paying attention to her until her death took over the news cycle and, in order to keep themselves in front of the camera, they turned her assassination into a political football.

*None* of the candidates has or had any sort of deep, serious Pakistan policy, and none will. That is the stuff of serious leadership. They’re just playing the game of personal appeal in mass media.

I really do hope that this web site gets out of the presidential horse race hysteria soon. It was really nice to have access to Larry Johnson’s understanding of Middle East and Central Asia national security concerns and insider understanding.

      • TeakWoodKite

deep, serious Pakistan policyMY name is Joe

      • Percy

Hey anon…..not fair. Many of the candidate have given the are thought! Just not Obama, he didn’t really know anything about her at all, probably. Joe Biden, if you do your homework, called for more security to Bhutto in October! he was clear in his statements abot Pakistan.

  • DCDemocrat

Barack Obama was just on Wolf Blitzer. Wolf attempted to quote Axelrod, and Obama used every trick in the book to try to stop Blitzer from quoting Axelrod. “I was there, and I overheard the comment.” Blitzer finally overpowered him at the end and recited what Axelrod said.

  • campskunk

Obama was just on CNN, stammering and talking over Wolf Blitzer when Wolf tried to ask him about Axelrod’s statement. He was clearly uncomfortable. Sounds like another slip of private Obama campaign talk out into the public sphere.

    • Jess Wonderin

I keep hoping that Obama would catch fire and wake up “smart” – so far what I thought was a great new light on the horizon has become the Comet Kohoutek of the Party . . .

No wonder the Republicans fear Edwards and keep wishing for Hillery . . .

  • TeakWoodKite

Seems like everyone has forgotten what good ole’ Tommy Franks said when Rummy told him to “do Iraq”.

Something akin to “Are you for real?” I can get the quote from his book.
Axelrod is not telegenic enough to wing it. oops.

  • http://bluegirlredmissouri.blogspot.com/ –Blue Girl

Should that empty suit be the Democratic nominee, it will take more than merely holding my nose to vote for him. It will probably take a valium, too.

Although I have selected another candidate to back in the primary, I am warming to Hillary because she makes so many people apoplectic to the point of foam-flecked stupidity, and I have always enjoyed a good spectacle.

    • http://proctoringcongress.blogspot.com/ Apollo 13

It will take a valium the size of a hockey puck for me to vote for Obama in the general and a lot of booze afterwards. I’ll do it if I must. With Hillary, not so much.

I’ve got another six weeks to decide between Richardson and Edwards in the primary. After that, and if it comes down to Hillary v. Obama, I’m supporting Clinton.

      • Fred C. Dobbs

Once you get started, it’s not so bad.

In 1992, I went into cerebral arrest in the voting booth. I found Bubba so noxious that I couldn’t make myself pull the lever next to his name.

Then I thought about 8 years of The Addled Puppet Reagan, the up-streaming of income from the middle class to the Oligarchy so evident in the previous twelve years and the colossal affrontery of Shrubbie Daddy in his constant, public crapping to windward of me…and asked myself a question:

Would I vote for Gus Hall instead of George Hideous Wanker Bush?

Sheeeeeeiiiiiiitttt…I’d have voted for Lyndon Larouche rather than GHWB.

So, I held my nose and pulled the lever marked, “Cracker Whizzbang.”

        Know what?

I made a LOT more money after that.

And my country had a president who had some spine, a sense of fun and didn’t make me want to hurl my last three meals every time I saw him on The Toob.

        So, what the hell…why not?

Who ever heard of a Democrat Recession?

      • Shirin

Hmmmm – it would take the same for me to vote for either Obama OR Clinton. They are more or less the same thing anyway, except that Hillary somehow manages to look smoother doing it, at least most of the time (That vicious, derisive, maniacal laugh she has unleashed at him a few times not withstanding).

    • Shirin

Well, Blue Girl, to each her own, but I would rather vote for a president who has a record of OPPOSING military action than one who has never met a war she was not enthusiastically supportive of.

  • http://cujo359.blogspot.com Cujo359

I hear she whacked Jimmy Hoffa, too.

Not sure whom I’d vote for if Obama was running in the general. Who will the Greens be running this year?

    • Fred C. Dobbs

Wasn’t she on the Grassy Knoll in a Charles Harrelson mask?

Ooops. My bad. That would get her the GOP nomination hands-down, wouldn’t it?

  • Mr.Murder

Hillary voted for the AUMF, which req

  • Mr.Murder

Hillary voted for the AUMF, which required a return to the Security Council for a vote on moving forward.

It also had an established date for any action to be authorized and Rumsfeld went two days ahead of the agreed upon calendar. So much for the coalition, legitmate authorization in the world’s eyes, or any sense of procedure.

A diplomatic lever using the threat of force. You know, the thing Obama’s boy Colin Powell said was necessary all that time. The guy that is Barack’s foreign affairs advisor has such a fine reputation.

    • Percy

Obama if you fail to ackowledge, doesn’t take an offical stand on much. “PRESENT” voting in ILL and NOT PRESENT in the US Senate to vote on the Iran Resolution so he can easily sit back and take the position, of what I would have done. Colin Powell, while he evenutally came foward….HELPED BUSH TAKE US TO IRAQ! Maybe Colin, Obama’s boy, is responsible for the death of Bhutto!

      • Shirin

I think saying that Powell “came forward” is a bit of an exaggeration. What he did was to play the innocent dupe and whine a lot about how he had been misled and deceived. He has yet to take a bit of responsibility for his own criminal actions.

  • kenoshaMarge

So glad that the rest of the world is waking up to what I have observed for years. Everything that goes wrong in the world is the fault of either Bill or Hillary Clinton. We all knew that the Republicans were dumb enough to buy into that phony mantra, but who would have ever guessed so many so-called liberals would too?

  • Fr33d0m

Can we get back to reasonable posts now?

    mr johnson-

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/12/27/iowa.one.week/

wiliam schneider, cnn analysts and analyst as the American Enterprise Institute, agrees with you that “experience” is most important right now. Enjoy your new buddies on the fringe right, I’m sure they will make your efforts to discredit hillary’s opponents much easier. they are very good at that sort of thing.

and obama is absolutely right that the war in iraq has led to instablity not only in pakistan but all over the middle east.

    • Fred C. Dobbs

      >>> “…and obama is absolutely right that the war in iraq has led to instablity not only in pakistan but all over the middle east.”

Discerning and articulating this fact hardly qualifies anyone to be POTUS.

Perhaps proves that one is awake and reading an occasional newspaper, but not exactly an example of earth-shaking insight.

And, BTW, before it’s done, the war in Iraq may well contribute to some instability in THIS region, as well.

    • Percy

      Dear Lester,

Bush’s lack of judgement is responsible for taking the eye off of Afganistan. We all knew that was wrong. LOL…you make it sound like that was an original thought of Obama… you are funny.

  • anon

The web log entries have gotten really silly on this site, and I really hope that, after the election, this site returns to its previous level of quality.

On the topic of the Democratic primary, what I find odd is that none of the otherwise intelligent people writing on this site (including Larry Johnson, who must be a smart person indeed to have gotten to where he is) can observe the obvious: that the entire primary campaign has descended into a bitter, vapid contest of personality appeal. There is no meaningful contest on the major issues of the day and the biggest-name candidates (Hillary and Obama) seem to be involved in what is at best a game of chicken played out on the Highway of Stupidity or is at worse a real threat to the hopes we all have that the state of the nation, its economy, and its place in the world, might improve with serious work.

The Democratic primary this year is so utterly vacuous that it seems an allegory for our Paris- and Lindsey- infatuated culture. I keep wondering if one of the candidates is going to stage a boob outing in front of paparazzi. It would be about on par with the “debate” we’ve had and the “options” the Democrats and Republicans are presenting voters with this year.

    • Shirin

I noticed it, Anon. I also noticed that no opportunity is lost to promote Hillary, often in silly ways (like that photo of her and Chelsea all dressed up pretending to be rich Pakistani ladies.

  • anon

Here everyone is a very good read from Ray McGovern on the domestic surveillance or wiretapping issue: http://www.counterpunch.org/mcgovern12282007.html

While it is not breaking any new ground, I always do enjoy McGovern’s capacity to sum up a situation in the form of a narrative and this is a good example of that.

  • oldtree

superman or santa clause, who will they blame next?

  • Retired

Larry, you really missed it on this one. Think about it: Hillary whacked Vince Foster and no one said boo. Now she hits Benazir Bhutto and sitll no one is looking her way. What more can you ask for in a Presidential candidate? If she gets elected–bye, bye, bin Laden and maybe she’ll even throw in the Castro brothers as a door prize. Of course, if Bob Novak is to be believed, the Agency will probably oppose her on these hits and she’ll have to turn to Bill’s cocaine-dealing Mob buddies to get the job done. You used to be a pretty good analyst in the old days, but you’re slowing down now.

    • TeakWoodKite

Must be ’cause Larry likes getting up at 9:00am.

percy- so you agree that what obama said was correct

and what’s really funny is you, susanpc and larry johnson acting like hillary clinton is a sound chioce for POTUS.
