Attacking Hillary

Couple of pieces out today that underscore the hostility of MSNBC in general, and Chris Matthews in particular, to Hillary Clinton.  Please check out the following:

Greg Sargent at Talking Points Memo:

One Day After Saying He’ll “Never Underestimate Hillary Clinton Again,” Chris Matthews Says She’s Only A Presidential Candidate Because Bill “Messed Around”
January 9, 2008 — 9:36 AM EST // //

Normally Chris Matthews isn’t worth the bother, because he serves up so much non-stop clowning that there’s no humor value left in anything he does, in the same way that printing lots of currency deprives it of worth. . . . (read the rest)

And Pat Lang:

In accordance with my preference for finding wisdon in unlikely places, I would echo at least some of the sentiments of this Fox News story.

Hillary Clinton won in New Hampshire.  It was a satisfying experience for those of us who support her, but it was a shattering, paycheck threatening experience for the punditry.

Christopher Matthews had howled with glee and danced like the proverbial dervish for days in derision and loathing of HC and her husband, all the while swooning like a teenager over the possibility that Barack Obama might fulfill the “dream.”  Whose dream. Well, who else? .  .  .  . (read the rest)

Chris Matthews needs to be fired.

since the debate Hillary making it more “personal” like Edwards

And Obama sure has taken on the fight the lobbyist mantra.

Edwards has had this as his theme song all year.

Chris Matthews needs to be fired.

You know, I agree. On the one hand, he did say at a press party that the administration had been caught in it’s criminality but on the other, he seems far more interested in creating an interesting story (like a close ballgame!) than justice in his actual work.

Every time I’ve seen Matthews recently, he looks like he’s on drugs. Certainly that would explain his thought process.

    Susan, Larry,

the pundits like lost-without-a-brain msnbc’s chris matthews are scratching their noggins wondering ‘why’ hillary won nh, much to their dismay. that one is ‘easy’, hillary addressed the ‘lower 80%’ and ‘won their votes’.

hillary appears to finally be waking up to what being a democrat is all about, in particular what fdr did. why was fdr so popular? that one is ‘easy’, fdr appealed to the ‘forgotten people’, and hillary addressed the ‘invisible people’ in her victory speech. she received support of more lower-income than mr. nose-in-the-air obama. hillary has been meeting with families all over the nation who’ve lost their homes to foreclosures, couples who both work day and night and still can’t pay the bills and hope they don’t get sick because they can’t afford health insurance. she also has met with young people who can’t afford to go to college to pursue their dreams.

hillary is recognizing (in the sprit of fdr) that ‘too many have been invisible for too long’.

mr. nose-in-the-air obama appealed to the wealthier voters and those who could afford a college education. also among union members, hillary fared better than obama by 10% spread.

Nothing will happen . . . Chris is a mouth with no class – so many times you just sit there and go WTF? – and he pushes on . . . a bigger mystery is why Tucker can’t find his bow tie and go home . . . bring Rachael on and shit can one of these bozos . . . or BOTH.

I think it’s been evident for some time that Matthews needs to be fired. He’s a clown. His habit of constanly interrupting his guests is enough for me to avoid any program he’s involved with.

Carlson has ratings so low that if he’d been a liberal they’d have fired him and sued him. Yet if he is fired, he’ll almost certainly end up somewhere else.

His daddy is someone important to the Bund… er, the Conservatives, so he’ll always l and somewhere. Maybe not an AEI Fellow…probably running a riding mower at Scaife’s place.

  • Fred C. Dobbs

Nope. He’s a boozer, complicated by diabetes.
