I thought you all might appreciate Barney Franks latest great idea that maybe the government should get around to capping executive pay for all US businesses someday.

Congress will consider legislation to extend some of the curbs on executive pay that now apply only to those banks receiving federal assistance, House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank said.
“There’s deeply rooted anger on the part of the average American,” the Massachusetts Democrat said at a Washington news conference today.
He said the compensation restrictions would apply to all financial institutions and might be extended to include all U.S. companies.strong>

Taking advantage of an Open Thread here, with some snark: I saw a picture of Amy Klobuchar at the blahblah dinner in DC. This rising senate star is on my ___ list for endorsing the O almost before Michelle did. Anyway, if you see the photo, check the outfit. If Michelle wore that – well, it’s worse than Michelle’s upholstery ouitfit.

I saw bits and pieces of the debate? yesterday.
Senator Graham lit up the room for a time, in spite of interruptions from Boxer and Durbin!
This bill reeks to high heaven, but it will pass, by hook or crook!
I am so through with the Democratic Party!
Not one of them will ever garner my attention again, and any Republican who goes along is fair game for their constituents!

Does anyone know of a source that has a line by line accounting of all the 900+ billion dollar stimulus package? Does anyone- even the friggin’ Senators voting on it- know exactly where the money is going? I have tried to piece this together myself from various reports and only get to 400 or 500 B.

WTF- one would think, if there was an item by item listing, debate could be focused on stimulus spending and stimulus tax cuts, dumping pork and those things that won’t work or should rightly be in the normal budget process. But oh no Washington can’t do it that way. That may lead to agreement and a solution that actually works!

Unrelated topic….heard an NPR report this a.m. during drive time about a new (?) nonprofit investigative news organization called ProPublica. I just signed up for their free daily emails. Anyone here have an opinion on them? Sounds a little better than any of the other MSM—but certainly in no way better than our writers here at NQ. heh

Did he not watch or listen to advisors when he was on the stump?

That’s right once he was elected the skies were going to open and everything would be fine.
The light would come down and we would here them chanting Obama Obama!
Wonder how that lady feels now who said he was going to pay her house payment? Wonder if she has a job to pay it herself? and I guess walking to the store is better too….
Worrying times and we are not through the first month yet.
The best is yet to come at a guess?

the transcript was posted incorrectly. if you watch the video, he says IN as plain as day.

it was a stupid interview, but he didn’t say she was losing the weight battle.
