Cher: Another example of airhead Hollywood bigotry

With her latest pronouncements Cher has added her name to the list of botoxed bigots who populate the self-congratulatory circle of mutual masturbators in Tinseltown.

In asking how anyone could possibly be a Republican, she insulted half of America and displayed that kind of smug, self-satisfied, holier-than-thou attitude typical of the not-so-liberal celebrity left.

Being from foreign shores, with no affiliation to either party, I hold no particular prejudice towards Democrats or Republicans. I have met some very civilized, tolerant, socially liberal and pleasant people from both parties.

At the same time I have met idiots and jerks from both parties too. Both have their share of narrow-minded bigots.

But I have yet to hear a Republican publicly proclaim that he or she never met a civilized Democrat, in the way that Cher implied that there are no civilized or intelligent Republicans.

The tragedy is that these airheads are so wrapped up in their sense of rightness and moral superiority, and so sure that everyone else in Hollywood shares their outlook, that they cannot even begin to believe that any right-minded person might consider such views to be extremely bigoted and narrow-minded, or that their fan-fed vanity might exceed their intelligence.

It was very evident at the recent Golden Globe awards, where Laura Dern announced how great it was to have a president who offered “change we can believe in”. You could see that she fully expected her pronouncement to be warmly welcomed by the gathered airheads, and she was not disappointed. With the exception of a few taut-lipped celebrities, the airheads gave her just what she expected.

It was not so much the smugness with which she delivered such comments that I found most sickening; it was the whole smug milieu in which she delivered them.

I wish Tom Wolfe was still writing the kind of satire he did so brilliantly in such essays as “The Electric Kool-Aid Aid Test” and his piece on “Radical Chic” about Leonard Bernstein’s party for the Black Panthers. I am sure he could do a wonderful piece on today’s “radical chic” among Hollywood’s botoxed bigots.

I know some socially liberal and broadly tolerant people who happen to vote Republican because they believe in fiscal restraint on the part of the national government.

The country would almost certainly not be in the economic mess it is now if their views on responsible fiscal management had prevailed.

The video has been edited to remove the positive things she said about Republicans. Does she suffer from Obamania? Probably…

PS, to anyone who doesn’t know, Cybercast News Service used to be Conservative News Service, though it seems to be only biased in the stories it chooses to cover, not that it outright lies FOX-style typically. Founder claims they cover stories that are biased by omission, which one can take a lot of ways.

  • AlexisM

    I’m appalled.

  • Neverland

There’s a big double-standard what comes to tolerance and respecting other people’s opinions. People only seem to tolerate their own views no matter how much they speak of tolerance.

Back here where I live politicians are up in arms trying to create a legislature that would ban talking about the crime rates of immigrants or critisizing them in any way. All in the name of tolerance.

  • mel

Cher’s ex Husband dies from slamming into a tree while ski’ing and yet Cher is the one who’s face looks like it took the full brunt of the tree impact not to mention her brain appears to operate like someone who has had their brain severely damaged from a full head collission!

  • Fredster

Open her mouth to sing, yes. To talk, no.

  • beebop

She threw out body parts that interfered with her desire for a predetermined self image … teeth? ribs? Who needs ‘em? She hasn’t used her intelligence (???) in so long that she forgets she ditched some of her gray matter for botox …. silly twit. The sad thing is that the media wastes valuable tape on these dinosaurs.

  • mountainaires

Cher was married to a man who became a Republican Senator. Cher spoke at his funeral, cried about how much she loved Sonny. But she doesn’t think there’s a Republican alive who is civilized. She’s just a wacko and a hypocrite.

But, have to disagree with your comment that no Republicans are ever so crass–I’d say Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and some other right-wingers frequently cast aspersions on Democrats; indeed, they refuse to call the party by its real name, and call it the “democrat party.”

That said, I am not a Republican or a Democrat any longer; I am an Independent, and don’t belong to any formal political party, and never will again after this last election.

  • oowawa

You know, I watched the whole Cher video because I thought she would smile and show us her beautiful teeth, but she never did. I’m always impressed with these celebrities because they have such perfect white teeth. But she never smiled. I hope she isn’t hiding kool-aid stains.

  • Old Grumpy Guy

Excellent point. She described Sonny Bono as the great love of her life and yet she condemns all Republicans. That goes beyond hypocrisy.

  • barry bums a ciggie

    LOL, Kool-aid stains.

I am beginning to hate these celebs who think their opinion actually mean something. ZZZZZZ.

  • Old Grumpy Guy

Their perfect teeth are as cosmeticized as their faces and bodies. So what other things impress you oowawa?

  • Fae

We quit going to movies and we also quit buying any
magazines or anything to do with Hollywood. I use to
    be a Democrat. Not anymore.

  • obamastolemyboyfriend

Well, I am not one to judge because in the past couple of weeks, I have loudly asked, “Why are all democrats mentally ill? That is the only explanation I can come up with for their bizarre behavior!”, even to liberals I know. I do apologize after though.

I suggest that these do gooder millionaires do their part since liberal hand outs are the way to go (per them), they should just donate all their money to a Save America fund or they can adopt a foreclosure and buy someone their house that has been foreclosed on and then gift it to that person so they can keep their house. We all know that they could afford to probably do it for a dozen people or more. So do it and get all you rich celebrity buddies together to donate a few trillion dollars and buy America out of it’s problems! Otherwise I suggest those stupid Hollywood Fs just STFU!

2008 has caused me to boycott certain movies because of the star. I know some celebs are Obots and now will not go see the movie of a known obot, no matter what the movie is about. They are not getting my money if they are that stupid and believe in messiahs and/or that Sarah Palin is the devil. No money from this chick for any of them.

Jon Voight though? Yes, I’ll see his films. Chuck Norris? Yes, he made sense during the GE and deserves to make money.

    Liberal bot fluff heads? Um,No!

  • Animal Control

He was a Representative but I get your point. If not for Sonny she would be an unknow.

  • Diana L. C.

I used to like Cher back in the day. I still go into nostalgia mode when I hear some of the old Sonny and Cher songs. I give her credit, too, for morphing into an actress in a few pretyy darn good roles.

But when she started the mummification process of botox, cosmetic surgery, etc., she totally lost me. If she wanted to help the world, take the money she spent on those procedures and help the world. The most beautiful person I can remember seeing in the news in recent times was Mother Teresa.

I believe she would have had enough sense not to spout about politics and would instead talk about what the people of the slums need.

  • typical gram cracker

Sonny Bono was a Congressmen not a Senator. His widow, Mary Bono Mack, was appointed to finish his term in Congress. She still represents the Palm Springs, CA area. She is now married to FL Rep. Connie Mack.

Guess Cher doesn’t think much of Mary.

  • Peggy Sue

I’ve always loved the movies, but frankly it’s getting harder and harder to find something to like because there’s so much dreck out there. And, unfortunately, Cher represents the sad aftemath of the generation I belong to–the botoxed babyboomers, who are wa-a-ay too eager to be perceived as “kool” and young [which they're definitely not] rather than thinking for themselves.

I mean for crying out loud, we’re grownups now, not loopy teenagers!

And then there’s that sizeable amount of money in the stimulus bill pigeon-holed for Hollywood. To create jobs we’re told [or ensure mindless devotion]. My understanding is that your political affiliation as an entertainer is an important career move in “the business.” Particularly when you’re moving through the ranks. Conservative actors and/or entertainers tend to be hush-hush about their opinions, so their careers won’t be shipwrecked.

Something like the McCarthy years in reverse. Then “left” was wrong; now it’s all there is.

Nothing new under the sun, I guess. Just different accusers. And hopey-changey slogans. Sad. Very sad!

The renewed visage of Sonny Bono and Cher reminds me of the old joke about the Bucket and Saucer Method of Birth Control…

(“When his eyes get big as a Saucer, I kick the Bucket out from under his feet!”)

  • Old Grumpy Guy

    yes it s sad.

  • oowawa

Funny–I just got back from Wal-Mart (buying Valentines cards with other bewildered geezers who looked like extras from The Night of the Living Dead), and in the check out line, I was glancing at the tabloids, when LO! there was Cher, whom some paparazzo had managed to catch sans makeup: EGADS! I thought. GADZOOKS! That’s hideous! I was glad I wasn’t buying a valentine for her! My valentines are sweet of soul and kind to animals. They are beautiful from the inside out. That’s what impresses me.

  • Lizzy

These hyperventilating bot brains are just too much. Big O is soooooooo intelligent-he can do anything. The only things I see are the manipulative lies of the slug who slimed from the Chicago sewer. Is a bot brain the side effect of botox? Cher is old like me guess her days are numbered.

  • Old Grumpy Guy

I hope your valentines cards are made out of recycled paper

  • http://www.DailyPUMA.com Alessandro Machi

    A minor defense of Cher.

I think the Republican convention displayed an embarrassing lack of minorities. One of Cher’s comments about who wouldn’t be a Republican, when juxtaposed with an image of the Republican parties convention, would pretty much back up her assertion.

  • Ferd Berfle

It all depends on whose ox is being gored and who is wielding the saber. I remember when Charleton Heston was the darling of the right even though he was as unintelligle as the average farm implement. Imo, Hollywood types should remain actors and leave the pontificating to the Pope or at least a subject-matter expert in the area of expertise.

  • Old Grumpy Guy

and I’m sure you didn’t use the expressions EGADS and GADZOOKS! We are not living in medieval England

  • Lizzy

  • Ferd Berfle

    A minor defense of Republicans

They weren’t nearly as sexist as the democrats. The former democratic party lost two long-time members in this household. I expect Republicans to behave a certain way. They are, at least, honest to their principles. It is truly a shame the democrats can no longer make the same statement without creating a logical dilemma or two.

  • Ferd Berfle

Probably. I’ve been had more times than I can count.

I loved the last piece where she warns us not to expect we can get out of Iraq soon…” too simplistic”. Pure comic gold.

In addition to her myriad charms her face is very scary. Yes, you can use too much botox. Someone tell her this, quickly.

  • FLDemFem

She apparently said that she doesn’t understand why anyone would want to be a Republican, well, I don’t understand why someone would fill their body up with implants, silicone and collagen to the point where they look like a bad caricature of themselves. I know lots of nice Republicans. I don’t discuss politics with them much because I like them and don’t want to have to tell them that the policies and people they think are great are taking this country to hell in a hand-basket. And if Cher doesn’t know why anyone alive would be a Republican, it’s a good thing Sonny is dead. Heh. And why would anyone ask her about what President Obummer is going to do? Is she one of his advisers? Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if she was.

  • Ferd Berfle

And HRC couldn’t be nominated, much less elected, because she merely voted to allow an option for military force if all else was exhausted.

I smell a lot of pants on fire in this Administration and its supporters and it isn’t open-burning season, yet.

Just this evening, Chris Matthews was drooling all over a story about Obama going out and pitching his sale of the stimulus package and said (and this is not a direct quote but close to it) “Isn’t it great that he goes out and talks to the street people, you know, the people in the street, the everyday street people.” WTH????

Matthews made it sound as if Obama was willing to dirty himself by coming out and talking to average Americans, who seem now to be dubbed by Chris Matthews and his elite media as “street people”. It just sickened me.

  • candymarl

Cher apparently missed the part where a few Republicans and Democrats tried to stop the run away spending and were called disloyal, unpatriotic, or tinfoil hatters.

Not all Republicans are bad people and not all Democrats are saints. Apparently the “post partisanship” mantra didn’t reach some parts of the entertainment industry.

That’s too bad because when the sh*t hits the fan we are all Americans.

Yet the first so-called African-American (literal as in Kenyan and Caucasian American) has no record of doing anything for people of color other than supposedly registering them to vote, in their neighborhoods, in the 90′s.

Hardly a life-threatening assignment. According to the person who assigned him, he quit. Unlike those who registered people of color to vote when it could mean the loss of your life (see Hillary in the 60′s).

Oddly enough, I saw more folks of color at the Republican convention when Reagan ran for President.

No Quarter used to have rational people. I’m getting really tired of some of the crap that’s going up here.
    Cher?
She’s the one who called out Bush and did so when everyone was a coward.
    Cher?
She’s the woman who campaigned for Hillary like crazy. Not just in California but in other states including Texas. She, Melanie Griffith and the actress who plays Ugly Betty were all over the place campaigning as hard as possible for Hillary.
So you disagree with her comment?
Too bad. She’s more than earned the right to speak her mind and once upon a time at No Quarter — before it went into crazy right wing land full blast — Cher’s comments might have been called out or might not have been but it wouldn’t have resulted in a personal attack.
This site is really going downhill.
I wonder which Hillary supporter will eat next in our rush to the right.
And since the site’s gotten so right wing, I didn’t vote for Barack. I’m sure someone will accuse me of that. I didn’t vote for him. I wouldn’t vote for him. I do not support him. I do not applaud him.
I do take offense to any Hillary supporter getting these kind of attacks (she can’t sing! look at her face!) that are just bulls–t attacks.

Why, exactly? She has no more right to her opinion than anyone else, snooty one. While she has a big soapbox, it does nothing to augment whatever specious aregument she may use to back her it. Using your logic, Britney Spears has earned her right to opine, too. Yeah, right.

I look to the subject matter experts for edification and not some sun-baked ham from Southern Claifronia.

Seems to me the last time he dirtied himself by talking to street people, he accidentally ran into Joe the Plumber, and that didn’t work out too well for him . . .

  • Ferd Berfle

Yeah-the she and Sonny kept a lot of second-rate writers employed during the 70s, too.

  • Cathy in Ks.

I, like a previous commenter, remember the “good old days” when Sonny and Cher were different and fresh. For me their appeal was that they were “real” and not “air-brushed”.

Alas, everything changes and not always for the better. Cher had a “unique” voice that was good. She later proved to have some acting ability, basically playing herself, but not everyone can play themselves well. However, like so many celebrities before her and after her, she does not seem to have been similarly gifted in the “intellect” department.

Cher is entitled to her opinions, even if they are “bigoted” and “stupid”. It’s just too bad that they merit any type of press coverage.

  • Ferd Berfle

The only thing That One had in common with Joe the Plumber was a Y-chromosome.

  • The Real HC

By the way, it is not sexist to say that Cher looks ridiculous. Its not an irrelevant ad hominem attack. And it has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton.

Its not like we broke into Cher’s house and found her unprepared and grilled her about politics. She chose to go on TV spouting nonsense wearing a scary plastic appendage formerly known as a face. Her only qualification for this little interview is her status as “entertainer”.

Cher says she wants to be charitable and then right after that says she doesn’t understand how anyone would want to be a Republican! What they asked her was what was it about the Republicans that killed her and that was her answer.

People like Cher are to be pitied. Most celebrities feed off of attention and are not known for being too bright. What Cher thinks is irrelevant to me except I will not spend my hard earned money supporting her witless ego.

  • Old Grumpy Guy

  • http://www.TheOtherDemocrats.com Florida Ex-Dem

Agreed. It really was sickening. I’m something that’s an oddity, I guess – a fiscally conservative Dem. I’m disgusted by the Dem’s feeling it’s absolutely ok to bailout anyone who whines, to give tax money to things that are not needed, and to spend money as if there is money to spend.

These Hollywood liberals are really becoming sickening to me. Most of them don’t have brain one and are simply going for a cheap applause. They only respond to ‘superstars’ and so they see Obama as just that – not as an individual who cheated his way into the position.

I would rather admit to being a pedophile on national tv than be a Dimocrat these days. And the Hollywood liberals? Who listens to these boobs? They’re so out of touch with reality. I have to admit that I have always liked Cher. I thought her singing was unique and I liked a few of the movies she was in. I agree with OGG, I disagree with her viewpoint concerning Republicans, but I hate to see everyone trashing her, since she was a very strong suppoter of HC. At least, she knew that Hillay was superior to BO, a view not shared by many celebrities. So, even though I don’t agree with her view, I hate to see us totally bashing her. They asked her her opinion, and she gave it. Hopefully, she will wake up. I have to admit that if they asked me that question, a couple of years ago, I might have said the same thing about Republicans. Now, after 36 years as a Democrat, I am happily Independent.

  • AlexisM

Well, the left has some big surprises on the way. They’re digging their own grave with two shovels. As much as I don’t want my country to fail, it was a done deal when Obama got elected. I have tried and tried with this Bacon Bill; faxed, emailed, phoned all of the turncoats supporting it. Now it’s going to be done and over. So be it. I relish the backlash that’s coming and I’m happy to be part of the imminent Revolution.

  • AlexisM

If Cher supported Hillary, and Cher is so in the know about politics, then she could never support the Fraud because of what he did to HRC. That doesn’t make sense. These nuts go on their liberal tirades and it has nothing to do with reality or the way the world works.

  • RebelCarol

I’m really not. I left the Dem party when they screwed Hillary.

They are still screwing Hillary. Read the following article on how her role is being diminished as SOS:

  • http://Safari AnnieCollier

I’ve been doing the same thing. I see their silly faces in the ads and all I can remember is the way they trashed Sarah and for some Hillary too. OTH, I haven’t been much of a Clint fan but did go to see his latest because he used his $$ to support McCain/Palin and kept his mouth shut otherwise. I was pleasantly surprised and liked the message in Gran Torino.

Poor Cher. She never has been too bright and when she tries to “act as if” she merely exposes herself more as a twit.

  • AlexisM

Is anyone surprised by that RebelCarol? Really. If they cut HRC loose, and let her do her thing, she would literally be running this country. It’s sad that garbage like Pelosi and Obama are so scared of the Clintons. But, then again, the Clintons know the truth. This makes me sick. But, then again, every single email I get, every article I read, every bit of “news” that I have to check out makes me puke. I’m in a state of perpetual nausea that will last until 2010 and 2012.

  • RebelCarol

Now I am no expert on the subject, but it seems to me that actors, musicians, anyone in that genre immerse themselves so much in their artistic fields that they lose touch with reality as we see it. Their reality can best be described as “Being in Outerspace.” They just don’t think like real people.

  • JulieD

    Robert –

Apparently, she is brain dead. I guess that’s where the mummification process comes in.

Have you ever seen “Death Becomes Her”? I couldn’t care less if somebody has really good plastic surgery. I’ve dated some excellent plastic surgeons. They do great work. But she looks like a pufferfish.

And she’s a terrible singer. She’s only famous because of her Republican former hubby and the fact that homosexual men can easily imitate her.

I wonder how many millions she gives to charity each year?

She thinks she’s such a great example for US…

  • RebelCarol

We had discussed this before on NQ when Hillary was first nominated as SOS and some of us were hoping she wouldn’t take it because she would be more effective in the Senate. We saw this coming.

  • AlexisM

They absolutely have zero grasp on reality, but sadly, we got an American Idol “President” because the voters in this country listen to and believe the crap of the celebrities. The whole media system needs to be revamped. We have tried and tried to find something in the Constitution, or some law, that indicts the lamestream media for what they did to this country. Nothing. All there is is the First Amendment, which I cherish with all of my heart, but let’s these pigs do what they do. Sigh.

  • AlexisM

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0508/10481.html

“Hillary Rodham Clinton, you’ve got a friend in Dirty Harry.

Though a longtime follower of John McCain — dating back to the Arizona senator’s 2000 run against George W. Bush in the GOP primary — Clint Eastwood thinks Clinton deserves some serious respect. And enough already with the calls for her to quit.

“Everybody’s trying to talk her into folding, but it doesn’t seem like the spirit of Americana,” Eastwood told Politico before heading to France’s Cannes Film Festival, where his period kidnapping drama “Changeling,” starring Angelina Jolie, had its world premiere Tuesday.

“Put yourself in the place of [Clinton]: You’ve gone out there and made a thousand speeches, and you’ve shaken a million hands and you’ve been out there working your ass off,” Eastwood said. “And then somebody comes up and says, ‘Why don’t you just drop out of it?’”

The actor/director/producer/jazz aficionado — who had his own brush with politics as mayor of Carmel, Calif. — said Clinton’s fortunes could change: Barack Obama could trip over himself again, as he did with the controversies over his association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Obama’s remarks about working-class voters clinging to their religion and guns.

“I watch Clinton and feel kind of sorry for her and wonder, ‘What are all these people telling her to run away for?’” Eastwood said. “She’s showing her strength by hanging in there.” “

And I do not know how Cher could possibly have actually warn that night mare of an outit she wears in the “turn Back Time video”. I had nightmare about that outfit for weeks after i saw it. Yeesh

Ps. obama has a spirit? Yeah ok, whatever.

    Eddie,

I know Cher was a big Hillary supporter.

She simply did what most Dems or Repubs do whenever the nominee gets picked — they support the eventual nominee, no matter who that is. Even though she did not want Obama during the primary either.

We are all very connected to all the gory details but most out there are not and the media certainly did their best to bury the details of Pres. Obama’s campaign and past behavior and flip flops. Most people do not get on the internet digging for a story. Whether that makes me miserable or not is not the point — it’s just the way it is.

I did not appreciate her comments about Republicans either and I think that is out of line — but I would never personally attack her and I think personal attacks take away from the argument.

I also do not appreciate grouping everyone in Hollywood under the same banner either. Not everyone there is an Obamabot. Please believe me when I say this. You might be surprised as to how many people in the arts feel about him.

As a general comment, I’d like people to remember how painful it was to us in the primary when people were labeling all Hillary supporters as Archie Bunker racists, shoulder pad feminists, clueless, deadenders, etc.

While Cher should not have said what she said, I really feel a lot of these kinds of comments are a Dem. backlash reaction to Bush Derangement Syndrome. He and Cheney and Rumsfeld and Gonzalez so sullied the Republican brand with their actions that the sky’s the limit with the insults.

This is not an effective way to have a debate no matter how angry we are.

Believe me, it is heartbreaking to me that Bush and particularly Cheney will never see justice. Bill Clinton was impeached over a blow job, after what a great admin. we had otherwise, and years of peace and prosperity, yet Bush and Cheney get off scott free without so much as a slap on the wrist for Iraq lies and deaths, Katrina, Abu Graib, Abramoff, FISA and more…

Nonetheless, I too hope we can keep it to the issues and not someone’s botox issues.

    Please
    – I implore you both —

do not group all artists in this category —

some of us are very well informed and not Obama supporters.

    Ani,

Nice post. A tad inaccurate. If you tell anyone in the film business that you didn’t vote for the Fraud basically people want you banned from the biz. That’s the sad truth. She’s an idiot for what she said about Republicans. If the Republicans didn’t stick their noses in the Bacon Bill your life would be way worse than it’s about to get.

  • AlexisM

    Ani,

So you’re in the film business? Then you know that if you tell people you didn’t vote for Obama you career is over, right?

As for Cher? She’s an idiot. How dare she say what she said? Especially when she is less educated than us, and has no idea who Obama is. Celebrity also carries responsibility. She owes the bazillions of dollars she has made to this country and to be honest. Anyone supporting Obama is a traitor. Period.

I know it’s disheartening, as they would have “we the people” believe our voices have been silenced; the thing is we need to get ahead of their game. An example is moving the Census office responsibility, we can’t wait until an election is within months, people need to complain and act on this now. As far as this pork package, it can be nit-picked well at a local level, find out in your state what funds are being received for what, find out if those funds are actually going to what they are proposed for. It is going to take work, but it is work well done, in advance and to stave off what we can. Freedom Of Information Act requests take 8-12 weeks to process, but there are daily printing s of certain actions taken. I will see if I can compile a Federal list, with links to state levels. Nothing is done yet, as long as we keep an eye on our country and work for and toward transparency and accountability. It may or may not have success in each instance. This spider has a lot more than eight legs, but I believe there are many of us who can at least examine and deal with the part of that insect encroaching in our own piece of the world. Working from all ends. I know having a cup half full, of shit, is still shit, I’ll let those who put it in there drink first. Meanwhile, my own efforts may be small but they will make a dent eventually.

Thanks Ani, a good reminder. Thiel time, before study.

    AlexisM,

No, it’s not a tad inaccurate. Being that I’m involved in that business. Not everyone in Hollywood voted for Obama — trust me on that much. And I still don’t like personal attacks or blanket insults to one certain group. That is unfair and makes no sense.

Someone should ask Cher where would she would be right now without one Republican. Sonny. His widow is still a congresswoman here in CA. Mary Bono. She’s just jealous because Sonny found what she longed for. Real love. They have two healthy well adjusted children.

Cher screwed up her children’s lives as well as her own. We all are given paths in life, it is up to us to decide which ones we will take. For Cher it was give up everything/destroy everything you love for money. I don’t need her or any of the Hollyweird elite to tell me what to believe or how to live. 90% of them have no idea what goes on in the world outside their door. An education. They need to look in their own backyards before judging others. Trying to tell other’s what to believe or how to live.

This year I’ve met some wonderful caring people from both sides of the table. I’m very conservative in my views and how I want my government to behave/spend. So I guess I am either a conservative Democrat, or a Liberal Republican. Take your pick. Either or I would be proud to be called/labeled. I don’t like fitting in anyone’s crowded box. I prefer to be free to think for myself. Which is why from here on out I now will vote for the candidate; not the party.

Basically, Cher has always been an idiot when it comes to politics. Why should we expect anything else from her?

The sorry point of all this is that she was given media coverage to expound her great stupidity.

She is one of those celebrities that truck drivers in Flying J’s should argue over as to who is better, Cher or Crystal Gayle.

Other than that, she’s a feckless nonentity.

  • Libby

I’m unsure why they’re interviewing her? She’s clearly of average or below intelligence. She has no clue what Obama will do. Her words are silly.

However, I remember the way Cher used to gripe and complain about Sonny when he was alive. When he died, he could have done no wrong in her mind. She’s nutty.

I also recall her telling Larry King that Sonny wasn’t really a Republican, he was simply masquerading as one to push his own agenda. I also recall her talking crap about Obama, when she was really rallying hard for clinton.

I just think she’s uninformed and therefore, should keep her mouth shut. Everything she states is hypocritical.
