      I read your e-mail, and I don’t understand your point. It seems as if you are saying people should not support Hillary because the economy is going to collapse and she will be blamed. Well, so what? If – or when – the economy collapses whoever is President will be blamed no matter whose fault it actually is.

        HUH?!!!!!!! Ummmm – no, he most emphatically did NOT vote against the Iraq invasion because he wasn’t even in a position where he could vote one way or the other on the Iraq invasion. Furthermore, he has made one equivocal statement after another regarding how he MIGHT have voted had he been in a position to do so, and even stated on at least one occasion that his position was identical to Bush’s on Iraq. And even furthermore, his votes on Iraq have been identical to Hillary Clinton’s. And most significant of all, his non-withdrawal “withdrawal plan” is virtually identical to hers, and would result in 50,000 or so troops, including troops in combat roles, remaining in Iraq indefinitely.

        One might even say that when it comes to Iraq, Obama is Hillary lite.

        So much for Paul Craig Roberts’ credibility.

        And then there is this:

        “ [Obama] is the only candidate in the running who has expressed concern over Israel’s mistreatment of the Palestinians…”

        Oh yeah! That bloody turncoat used to be viewed by the Palestinians as a supporter who understood their situation. He used to attend Palestinian events, and sat at the same table with revered Palestinian leaders such as Edward Sa`id. That was BEFORE he started running for President, and realized that being known as sympathetic to Palestinians could really kill his chances, and (not so) mysteriously started siding with the Israelis.

        At least Hillary is an unabashedly consistent AIPAC girl who has never pretended to give a damn about the Palestinians or any of Israel’s other victims.

          I am going to try to a repost as you can see what I said since Shirin in not one but two comments basically trashed what I said.

          Well it didn’t go again even after I took your advice and cleared the cache.

          Here is my email in case you are interested I can send you what I said. We could also communicate offline about some real issues since trashing and questioning Obama all the time(even by you Shirin in case you are reading this)is getting boring. Who gives a rats ass if Tony Rezo got arrested. That ranks right up there with Britney’s latest escapedes which makes for great reading in the long grocery (soon to be bread)lines.

            I just want to know who was dumb enough to bail him out!! LOL. I did that once; but never again after a no show. I sued to get the money back since I was a minor (17) posting bond and could not legally enter into a contract. I won, setting a precident,but the state of NY appealed and got to keep my chump change anyway. Live and learn.

          As far as Dr. Roberts article goes you completely missed the point. I don’t care if he maybe misquoted Omama or Hillary or whomever, there is so much bullshit flying around with the he said/she said middle school mentality that how could anyone really know what anyone said unless they were present and either wrote it down in indeliable ink or recorded it on non eraseable tape.

          Its amazing how you took two lines out of what he said and then have the nerve to say..

          I referred that link because what he was saying reflected exactly what I have been trying to say
          for months and I THOUGHT you agreed with and that is Hillary is nothing but Bush Lite.

          As i have also said just recently I am not sure any of the three leading Dems will change anything especially on Iraq which I assume is near and dear to your heart.

          My message has been absolutely clear during this entire time I have posted here.

          1. THE DEMOCRATS WILL NOT WIN THE WH PERIOD

          2. THE REPUGS DONT CARE WHO THEIR NOMINEE IS WHOEVER HE IS WILL DO THERE BIDDING BECAUSE HE WILL HAVE TO SELL HIS SOUL TO THEM.

          3. OF THE TOP THREE CANDIDATES FOR THE REPUGS HILLARY WILL BE THE EASIEST TO BEAT FOLLOWED BY OBAMA AND THEN EDWARDS.

          4. THIS COUNTRY IS BANKRUPT AND ON THE VERGE OF ECONOMIC COLLAPSE AND NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

          5. THE DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED CONGRESS ARE TRAITORS AND ARE JUST AS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MESS THIS COUNTRY IS IN AND ARE CO CONSPIRITERS IN ITS DEMISE AS BUSH IS.

            1. I am sorry, but the point of your remarks were not at all clear to me. Therefore, I responded to what I thought I could understand.

            2. It is not that Paul Craig Roberts misquoted someone, it is that he made a serious misstatement of fact. He said that Obama voted against invading Iraq, which he absolutely did not, since he was not a member of Congress at the time of the vote. That might not be the point of your remarks, but it IS a significant error.

            3. And please do not be so hyper-sensitive as to consider my stating contrary facts to be “trashing” anything. Obama’s abandonment of the Palestinians in favour of a pro-Israel stance is a fact, and is not insignificant to me or more importantly to others who valued his support.

            4. I don’t know how probable your doomsday scenario is or is not. More significantly, I have no idea what I am supposed to do about at this point besides run around yelling that the sky is about to fall. I continue to support impeachment, but I cannot impeach anyone myself, nor can anyone else here, and I am not sure how impeachment would prevent the sky from falling if it is as far along in the process as you appear to believe it is.

            If the sky is going to fall, then it is going to fall, and we will all have to deal with it. In the mean time, if you have any specific actions people can take to 1) prevent the sky from falling, 2) cope with the fallen sky, then please let us know.

            Bill, please do not read this as “trashing” anyone or anything or any ideas. I am just not at all sure what it is I or anyone else is expected to do if the scenario you are describing is reality.

          Actually, the burnt child fears the fire. There was that incident where Hillary appeared with Suha Arafat and sat silently as Suha made some super-outrageous claims about what Israel was doing to the Palestinians–and considering what really IS happening is outrageous she really had to get creative to find something super-outrageous to claim. Anyway, Hillary was pilloried during her first Senate candidacy because she didn’t say anything, even though she probably didn’t understand what was being said and was in full “diplomatic mode.” But once was enough, I guess, and she never made that mistake again! I mean appearing with Palestinians, of course. To be fair, the Palestinians have “issues” with Suha themselves–MILLIONS of issues, at last count.

            HUH?! Tell me you are not comparing the fake-blonde bling-wearing, spotlight-seeking mindless bimbo Suha `Arafat with EDWARD SA`ID?!!!!!!

            Obama used to share tables at moderate Palestinian-American events with people like Edward Sa`id. Anyone who puts themselves in the same room with the likes of Suha `Arafat deserves exactly what they get, and the fact that Hillary put herself in that position at all speaks volumes about her and her supposed “knowledge and experience”.

            And in any case, right is right, and wrong is wrong, and there is no excuse for anyone turning their backs on the Palestinians.

    This is the first time on this blog that anyone has even acknowledged that it might be a possibility. Thats why I said do not pay attention to me Mr Gloom and Doom, read what the experts are saying three of which I posted.

    I could have added more articles until I filled the whole blog but I just wanted to jar everyone’s thinking that the potential crash of the economy, a severe depression with who knows what kind of fallout was not and if but a when.

    Many learned and well respected writers historians have being saying we are on a downhill spiral for sometime now but no body listens to them either so of course I appear to be way out in left field.

    The big question here is not if a recession/depression is going to happen but how soon and how bad. The economists refer to the aftermath of a recession in terms of how soft or hard the”landing” is. One of these people a few days ago I can probably find the quote if you like basically said ” we already know it will be a “hard landing” we just dont know how hard.

    I believe we could equate this to saying jumping off the roof into a fireman’s safety net would be a “soft landing” which would probably result in little or no damage to you and recovery would be almost immediate.

    Jumping off the roof onto the ground would be a “hard landing” which would result in some damage hopefully none permanent which you could recover from, but would also take some time.

    A hard landing from the roof on concrete on your head could result in permanent damage or death from which you might never recover.

    This is what we are headed for I believe and many others believe.

    Why do I tie this to impeachment?

    Because nothing else is going to create enough of a jolt that will make ppl wake up from their fantasy that every thing is just peachy dandy.

    I can guarantee that if Conyers even starts impeachment proceeding the media will be all over it.

    Oh no you say they are in the admin’s pocket. Wrong the media is intersted in MAKING MONEY, MORE MONEY AND MORE MONEY, and if there is live C-span coverage with say Fitz the prosecuter and Dick Cheney squirming THAT IS NEWS IT LEADS AND THE MEDIA WILL NOT GIVE THE BLEATING ADMIN LACKEYS THE F**KING TIME OF DAy to lay off the big dick.

    Why because the media likes nothing better than an ONGOING STORY which this one will be like the Energizes bunny it keeps on going and going and going. Every day there will be new revelatiions that will get hashed and rehashed by the cable news channels. And as more real truth about what this administration has done comes out even the drunken sodden couch potato American sheeple will take notice
    and say WTF I didn’t know that and maybe just maybe if the fucking tratorist Bush lapdog Democrats get off their fucking lazy asses and that goes for Hillary, Obama and Edwards something will happen.

    You may not have been in the states when the Wategate
    hearings were going on, but millions of Americans were riveted to the evening news every day (there were no cable channels in those days) to hear what had happened that day. Also the MSM including the then fabled Washington Post would have banner headlines.

    This tsunami of coverage got worse and worse especially with the Saturday night massacre which ultimately resulted in Nixon’s impeachment and resignation which had started with a investigation of why there was duct tape holding a door open in the Watergate complex.

    What would happen if there was a similar investigation today when there is so much stuff that is known and would have to be dealt with in open forum? Its hard to imagine but once it started it would not only lead to the bastards impeachment and conviction but would probably set the whole corrupt political process on its ear for years.

    This is what the Founding Fathers gave us because they KNEW this would happen. Why do you think they put impeachment into the Constitution just to fell up space. In their infinite wisdom maybe guided by the Almighty who also believed after centuries of seeing HIS earth trashed and burned by wars famine plagues and whatever decided this was the last chance HE was giving to HIS creation and for better then 230 years his fears went unfounded.

    Now that has all changed and I doubt if HE will interfere into the coming end of days because we are just like Caeser sitting around watching the Super bowl while Rome Burns or in this case Iraqi’s and Palestinians being murdered the list goes on

    Too much religion for you no problem I know what I believe and I know what will happen if we do not do something NOW.

    What should you do? Lay in rations if you want to stay here or as wise Jews who saw the handwriting on the wall in Germany get out while the gettings good.

    I have already scoped out where I will go and I WILL leave this country if there is not Impeachment

      Bill, do you understand how glaring factual errors, like Paul Craig Roberts’ claim that Obama voted against invading Iraq might undermine their credibility as sources of good information?

      I am not convinced that impeachment is the only hope for the United States, or that it would even begin to solve the problems, which are systemic and do not begin and end with George W. Bush. In any case, it should be clear by now that impeachment simply is not going to happen.

      And I am still having problems understanding what constructively is to be done other than everyone running around yelling that the sky is falling.
