Open Thread * We Mourn for all Obots for whom reality is finally smacking them in the face …

Just kidding! I’m not mourning for the Obots. We tried ceaselessly to WARN these Kool-Aid dipsomaniacs that Obama did not have the experience or in-depth knowledge, and that if he were ever to run for President, he needed to stay in the senate, and learn that job before he skipped grades.

If Obama had been a hard-working, wonky senator for years (like the way new senator Jim Webb has worked hard!), I wouldn’t have worried as much. But PBO didn’t show up for votes or meetings! He never held one hearing for the crucial Foreign Relations subcommittee chairmanship he held (covering Europe and NATO, including the war in Afghanistan). There I go, listing all the reasons this man was NOT ready “on day one,” when instead I meant for you to read what this sorrowful sad sack of an Obot is writing now (sent anonymously to one of our writers):

“That announcement from Geithner was one of the most disgusting pieces of garbage I have ever witnessed. My personal honeymoon with Obama had been tailing off, but Geithner’s performance – which Obama is ultimately responsible for – just ended the honeymoon. Period. It’s like coming up to your honeymoon suite and finding your spouse having sex with the bellhop.

He has no credibility in my eyes any more. Just another bought and paid for politician. I’m grieving, upset beyond anger.”

Boo hoo …

Now control yourselves! Don’t cry!

Actually, I predict an entirely … yes … I can imagine already what you’re going to be writing to this DIPSOMANIAC who didn’t have the common sense to look at Obama critically BEFORE the election, when it mattered!

I’d wish for this revenge if it were just so damn dangerous for our nation to have a wholly inexperienced president with a staff that — so far — hasn’t shown much talent in helping him fill in the mammoth gaps in his knowledge about all of these critical issues (from the economy to world affairs) or in COVERING FOR HIM.

It was pathetic to see Obama tell everyone that Tim Geithner would explain the “details” of his recovery plan, and then have Geithner talk in generalities and confess, at the hearing, that he doesn’t have any answers, yet, to housing/mortgages/dropping house values, which are the CORE problems that set off our economic crisis in the first place.

YOUR turn!

I can’t believe it. I. simply. cannot. believe. it.

Is that another plant of some kind? I do hope I’m wrong, but I just cannot imagine ANY bo voter coming back from the (brain)dead.

(and absolutely no offense intended to anyone who has suffered the loss of anyone through the actual phase of being braindead — I’m just using it in illustration.)

  • AlexisM

Yippieeeee….Susan! I can only quote Charles Krauthammer – I thought it would take six months, but it took two and a half weeks. ROFLMAO!!!!

I don’t mourn for the people who forced this disaster on us. I love the fact that Obama’s big “plan” is going to give people a whopping $676 dollars the first year and much less the second. Or, $13/week year one and 8$/week year two. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAH…Now that’s change you can believe in. And all you will have left is change.

No sympathy here for the Obots. They deserve to walk in and catch their spouses with the milk man, bell hop, meter reader, etc. That’s what they did to us, screwed us, so now they get screwed. Karma, baby, Karma.

On another note…isn’t this just dandy news about California? Let the murderers and rapists out in society to save some money? I guess they are taking a tip from Obama and his “play nice with terrorists” week. So, now we will have the Gitmo terrorists, the murderers and rapists, etc. walking among us. We can take that $13/week to buy guns. Oops, that’s not allowed anymore either. Sigh.

We’ve become a society so focused on the bottom line that we allow stories like this one to happen in California. They are looking at mass releasing prisoners (to save the state budget) and justify the increased crime (150 extra homicides and 500 extra rapes) this way from the New York Times: ‘while those crime numbers sound bad, letting out the prisoners is more or less a wash from a societal cost-benefit perspective’ and ‘the money we save from freeing the prisoners is on the same order of magnitude as the pain and suffering associated with the extra crime.’

  • Tricia Spiegel

I notice that I am getting more respect from my Obama-supporting friends now. I think they realize that I was on to something, and that having someone experienved like Hillary Clinton may have been a much better idea.

This morning on news radio I heard TehOne tell the reporters at the news “conference” he held yesterday that he hoped they’d “show up for Secretary Geithner’s”presser because “he’s gonna be terrific”.

So now, we have reality teevee coming to a press conference near you! “Ready on Day One for Amereican Idol” I guess.

Fix me a margarita. It’s gonna be a long haul.

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

I think the comment is for real. I had a conversation with an Obama supporter yesterday who is extremely disappointed. He said Obama had this huge opportunity to really change things and that he’s ended up being just like everyone else.

My friend was never a starry-eyed Obot however, so he wasn’t crying over it, just somber.

    Wow.

from the New York Times: ‘while those crime numbers sound bad, letting out the prisoners is more or less a wash from a societal cost-benefit perspective’ and ‘the money we save from freeing the prisoners is on the same order of magnitude as the pain and suffering associated with the extra crime.’

Would the collective “We” enjoying the saved money, be the exact same collective “We” sharing the pain and suffering? I didn’t think so.

What an unbelievable statement for anyone to make.

  • yttik

I guess they smoked up all the hopium and the obama hangover is setting in.

  • James

Time Magazine named Bill Clinton one of the 25 people to blame for the economic crisis.

    What do you think?

  • AlexisM

ChooChoo…Unbelievable, huh? WTF is wrong with these people? Clearly no one, no one whatsoever, cares about John Q. Public anymore.

  • I’m a Linda too

    roflmaooaoaoa.

my crying is reserved in laughter from you.

Yes, people treated this like a game “Which candidate excites you: reality series one”. I have no sympathy for them, it’s US ALL THAT IS PAYING…as the world saw, besides some ME nations and Africa.

Yesterday was like that here for me. Went to meet hubby for lunch. Pulled up in my car (with my personalized plate) and a friend was outside chit chatting with security. The security guard then asked if next was going to be an Obama plate, I yelped, “Oh God NO”. My friend started laughing and then the security said “yep, he’s like all the others”.

Then our friend said his daughter’s friends all came over the other day and they were all complaining about O and how….get this “they wish they could revote”. He said he told them, ” I hate to tell you I told you so, but, I told you so”.

None of this though helps with the mess they gave us!

  • AlexisM

Okay, well I was waiting for the appropriate time…I’m off to the tattoo parlor to get “I Told You So” tattooed on my forehead. Then no one will have to ask me questions about who I voted for LOL.

  • I’m a Linda too

And, I bet all those Republicans that voted for O thinking he was easier to beat, or thought the “man” had to be better than a woman, Hillary, are all really pissed at themselves too. As they should be.

  • tek

Anyone read MoDo yesterday? She’d whining over Obie. Isn’t she the one who HATED the Clintons?

  • sowsear

Don’t put only the wives at fault to make this point.

  • Bazooka

    Susan,

    Are you joking!!

Obama has very very strong support amongst the American population. In fact, his support is a larger percentage than who voted for him, meaning that many who voted for McCain are behind him.

See the stimulus plan for example:

“Public support for an $800 billion economic stimulus package has increased to 59% in a USA Today/Gallup poll conducted Tuesday night, up from 52% in Gallup polling a week ago, as well as in late January.”

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/114577/Stimulus-Support-Edges-Higher.aspx

    Also:

“The American public gives President Barack Obama a strong 67% approval rating for the way in which he is handling the government’s efforts to pass an economic stimulus bill, while the Democrats and, in particular, the Republicans in Congress receive much lower approval ratings of 48% and 31%, respectively.”

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/114202/Obama-Upper-Hand-Stimulus-Fight.aspx

Susan, you are reading too many right-wing hatchet- job columns. Support for the Republicans on the other hand is horrible. Only 31% of American approve of the way they handled the stimulus. Far less than the number who voted for McCain.

The American people see through the Republican party’s attempt to torpedo Obama right out of the gate. It is very shameful that Republicans are playing politics with many serious issues. Just like NQ attempts to torpedo Obama by promoting all the Republican talking points. It ain’t working and if that is all the Republicans got, they ain’t going to be winning any elections anytime soon.

Obama is doing a very good job so far in a very difficult situation. He has done more in the first three weeks than Bush did in the last 4 years.

This was posted on wrong story for some reason so I re-posted here.

The polls will catch up soon enough. The American public is a bit slow to react.

But, I am hearing the concern and remorse from that much smaller segment of hard core Obots. The one’s who invested a lot of time and money in the campaign. The ones who helped turn the national tide in Obama’s favor.

Many of those people are not happy with what they are seeing. My business partner was a major organizer for Obama in our community and following the election, I have attended organizing meetings at his home (it is a neccesity for our business that I show my support) and those people are not happy. From disappointed, to disillusioned. They are not all off the bandwagon yet, but these people understand what is going on more than the general populace and they know this is not what they bought into.

I have asked you sooo many times to defend the pork bill, on your own and tell us why. But all you do is talk about the Good Lord Jesus Christ Messiah Obama and frankly he’s doing a crappy job and I’m appalled by him.

Another Obama Nominee Bites The Dust

    BREAKING NEWS
    NBC News
    updated 2 minutes ago
Republican Sen. Judd Gregg has withdrawn his nomination for commerce secretary, according to a statement released by his office Thursday afternoon.

“I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me,” Gregg said in the statement.

The New Hampshire senator thanked President Barack Obama for the nomination, adding, “I know our country will benefit from his leadership.”

IF I can remember correctly, in many of his debates, he said he wasn’t going to use a “hachet” but a pen, and use it like a scalpel, to take out unnecessary spending. What a scam this guy ran having people believe in his bs ‘hopey changey’ message.

  • typical gram cracker

Judd Gregg withdrawing from consideration to be Obama’s Commerce Secretary.

Good!!! That was the correct thing for him to do since responsibility for the 2010 census was being moved from Commerce to Rahm Immanuel in the White House.

Hopefully he will be reelected to the Senate in 2010.

  • AlexisM

OMFG Good for Gregg!!!! Of course leave it to the GOP to be showing good sense, morals and dignity with respect to the Bacon Bill.

In the ’90s Bill Clinton gave more strength to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) which got the ball rolling for the housing mess. Obama working with ACORN was intimately involved with forcing banks to make bad mortgages.

What I mourn is that the feeling of respect I had for the presidential fanfare now is gone and replaced by a feeling of circus fanfare with the clown in chief leaving the stage and all the obot children beginning to cry, wa wa wahhhhh.

And now Jim is the one who changed the tone of the President’s defeatism and gloom into one of optimism and hope. But wait…. it only lasted less than 60 seconds. Yes, if we do, we are saved and our country history can go back into track, but wait not so fast, no matter what we don’t know who we are and what we are, and maybe we just don’t amount to much anyway. Quack, quack, quack, the ugly duckling strikes again.

  • I’m a Linda too

Wow, that is just so disgusting…and illuminating. I don’t consider pain and suffering along with the monetary losses the same as the cost of incarcerating them.

  • James

The CRA didn’t cause the problem. GOP myth.

  • I’m a Linda too

and what, the other 24 are in Barry Obama’s administration?

  • cynic

OK, you asked for a defense.

Huge, vital areas of the national economy have totally stalled out. The wheels that are still turning are slowing down. Workers are being thrown out of work at an accelerating rate. Consumption of goods and services has dropped off because people who still have money are afraid to spend it, and people who are saving it are worried that it might quickly lose it’s value.

The stimulus package does three things: It cuts taxes, which alligns with conservative thinking; it injects a lot of cash into the economy through direct spending, to assure the money turns wheels rather than just go somewhere to sit; and it spends to do things that–in democratic theory, at least–will have long-term benefits and future pay backs. It’s all intended to jump start a stalled machine and get it rolling, so all of the normal forces that drive our economy can go back to work.

Some of the things targeted for spending are disliked. They admittedly further a democratic agenda. What can I say? A democratic president and majority got elected. What would we expect them to do?

If republicans have a better plan, let’s hear the specifics and the reasoning. If they think we should do nothing at all, they ought to get out there and tell the American people the reasoning behind that. Personally, with the economy in a nose dive, I don’t think doing nothing is a viable option.

  • AlexisM

    James…Not GOP myth. Duh.

  • I’m a Linda too

Bazooka must have shot a load. He is equating a question of “do you think Obama is handling his transition well” to “support for Obama”. lol

But of course, Obama’s people will try to find anything to try to make him sound better. They are quite desperate. That’s what they added another stop to his “I’ll Stimulate You” Road tour. lmao

  • AlexisM

cynic…you’re not doing it. You’re not telling me why spending 100s of Millions on office furniture we will probably buy from China helps us. Or 300 Million for Golf Carts. I asked for specifics and you gave me the Obot meme. The Republicans have been trying. Pelosi locked them out. This is not at all bi-partisan and the scumbags like Pelosi are trying to make sure no one reads this before they make us swallow it.

You keep repeating the same stuff. No one says we shouldn’t have a stimulus plan. You’re wrong there. But the word “stimulus” shouldn’t be in this crap sandwich plan in the first place. It’s nothing but a bunch of spending by some deranged socialists that will never help us.

Next time, please answer specifically item by item like I asked.

  • I’m a Linda too

    lmao

  • pm317

He has been faking it all along.

    From the Americanthinker blog:

Obama the legal scholar screws up
    Ed Lasky
When addressing families of terror victims regarding his decision to suspend military tribunals of suspected terrorists, President Obama “clearly didn’t do his homework” according to the Washington Times. His own legal counsel Greg Craig admitted the President made mistakes when discussing details about terrorism and made a key error when he tried to explain the law to the families.

I’m curious to see if they allow her to keep coming on the show. No one will speak of this issue on the air, so I’m guessing she was reprimanded – at the least, with the threat of no longer being allowed on if she doesn’t “stick with the program”.

  • AlexisM

    From a different source:

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/february_2009/obama_campaigning_builds_support_for_stimulus_program

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Approval Index for Thursday shows that 43% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. That’s a five-point improvement since the President’s prime time television press conference on Monday night.

“Seventy-three percent (73%) of Democrats Strongly Approve of the President’s performance along with 10% of Republicans and 37% of those not affiliated with either major political party. But then, you took it back. Thank God! On the other hand, wishing Barack Obama ill is wishing ourselves the same fate. That’s why this whole mess is so infuriating because we had an experienced, competent candidate. And I don’t blame simply the loopy, Obamaized voters drunk on mindless euphoria. The media certainly has its own share of blame. I put the lion’s share of the responsibility at the foot of the DNC. What they did was unspeakable–they sold their souls over a year ago.

Our old poster Galt mentioned that the Obama crew was steering the Titanic and would, by hook or by crook, hit that deadly iceberg. I don’t think he was necessarily off the mark.

Only I’m standing on the deck as are we all. Maybe our only hope is to keep the boat afloat, as best we can, for the next four years. And then get the hell off! The crew can fend for themselves after that. If we have any luck at all, they’ll drown.

Nope–I laugh in their general direction as their mortgages and car payments aren’t on time because That One forgot.

But you’ll not hear a complaint from the supplicant bots as they will summarily blame it all on HRC and the old fuddy-duddies who supported her (and make all their own payments, to boot).

  • KR

You show your bias…I gave you truth. Those who are honest and do their homework will find the truth no matter where it may be.
    Bye bye troll.

  • AlexisM

Who wants to be on the “inside” of the “administration” that is going to go down in flames and be regarded in the history books as the biggest disappointment ever? Gregg is right not to want to be part of that stinky cesspool of crooks.

  • Bazooka

that $30 m for Pelosi’s district is not true and a lie being promoted by a Republican…. typical of the Republicans on the stimulus.. continually promoting misinformation and lies.

    See:

    http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/stimulus-package/pelosi-staff-conservative-talking-point-about-30-million-for-mice-is-fabrication/

is this all you people got on NQ…. lies and innuendo…? same old, same old on this site… not facts, just a lot of nuttinest…

  • http://baddemocrat08.wordpress.com/ obamastolemyboyfriend

I do feel sorry for them in the fact that I can only imagine the anger they are going to feel to have been conned. It is going to be much worse than even our anger becasue we could see through the bum and not get conned. They have an added humiliation of being stupid or blind, whatever you wish to call it. they did bring it on them sleves. I will empathize with them so that we can all team up and impeach the fraud! He should not be POTUS!

I could not understand a few highly intelligent people I knew didn’t like O, but had to vote for him anyway. They couldn’t betray the party and couldn’t undertstand how I would. To each their own, I guess.

  • Bazooka

“But I just contacted the House GOP staffer who wrote the initial email laying out this talking point, and he conceded that the claim by conservative media that the mouse money is currently in the bill is a misstatement. “There is not specific language in the legislation for this project,” he said.”

KR…LMAO…that’s because the trolls only believe what they read at Daily Kook and Huffpoop.

  • Ferd Berfle

Where better to be, to assure the census process remains without partisan bias?

LMAO. That One took a cue from Chimpy so Judd would have been blind-folded by an army of bureautic bots answerable only to POTUS. I suppose it has gone completely unnoticed by you that the supporters of That One are strangely reminescent of Chimpy’s and that their leaders have the same sort of managerial style (or lack, thereof). The only difference is That One is even more unethical.

    Nice try, not-so-cynical.

  • Ferd Berfle

And Dumbo is the ring master.

  • catherine

“Fifty-percent or more of Americans say they have more confidence now in Barack Obama’s ability to improve the economy, manage the federal government, and in his ethical standards than before he took office.”

Wow that’s quite a drop from the alleged 83% he had on inauguration day and at least a 13 point drop from the approval rating of 63% he had a week after inauguration day.

It has’nt even been a month since his inauguration and his approval rating has dropped more than 20 points?!

At this rate, by the 4th of July Ofraudo’s approval rating should be on a par with Bush.

Nicely done obots. You’ve saddled us with another incompetent loser. You should feel so proud of yourselves.

  • AlexisM

And Pelosi is the magical talking PIG. OINK OINK OINK.

    69,000,000 bots and counting

Every crowd has a silver lining.

Research ‘Contract with America’ before you write the Reps off.

Obama will be lucky if Newt doesn’t lead it again. ;)

  • leslie

MoDo doesn’t know how to do anything but whine and complain and hate.
Ask for solutions and all you get from her is whining, complaining and hating….
    Solutions?
Pour the lady another whine cooler.

  • Bazooka

Not sure where you are getting your facts, as you give zero links or proof. Again, a blogger gives another lie and misinformation on NQ.

    But,

“In the first Gallup Poll job approval rating of his administration, President Barack Obama receives a 68% approval rating from Americans. (Jan. 26th).” and not 80% as you say.

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/113962/Obama-Starts-Job-Approval.aspx

If you are saying that his approval is now 63%, then that is a pretty small drop from the 68% at the time of the inauguration, and a very small drop considering all the BS and attacks he has taken over the first three weeks. Also, note that 63% is well above the 53% that voted for him, which means that a hell of a lot of people that did not vote for him now approve him.

Here is the real trend line:

    http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

No big deal if his approval drops after the excitment of the inauguration. Pretty natural. It will fluctuate and likely drop some more as he faces more tough decisions.

By the way what is and has happened to the Republicans approval rating over the same period? It sucks.

  • Bazooka

Great contract. It was a failure. Almost all of those in congress that came in under Newt are now gone. And how many of the goals of the contract did they actually fullfill.

Newt was chased out in disgrace. Newt the guy who was cheating on his wife at the same time he was voting to impeach Clinton.

  • Winston

Wow tag-team Obot wrestling. This is better than WWF. You could charge admission for this.

Ok AlexisM, you distract the troll by waving something shiny in his face, that usually works, and Ferd, you sneak up from behind and put the sleeper hold on em. Then AlexisM could hit em over the head with a metal chair and then give em a wedgie.

  • AlexisM

Winston…I am so dying to give the stinky little Bots wedgies. ROFLMAO.

  • cynic

The idea isn’t to create jobs that are paid with public money. The idea is to jump start a stalled machine.

Stimulus spending is intended to shock the entire system back to life. Once the wheels start turning again, normal market forces should set in. Job losses should slow then reverse. At that point tax cuts should stimulate the recovery process, and we’ll be back on our way.

I can’t see anything but spending that would do the trick, and I can’t see any source of sufficient funds besides the government’s power to borrow against our own future. Consumers aren’t spending; investors aren’t investing; no one seems inclined to spontaneously change those behaviors.

Once the train is back on the tracks, we’re all going to have to sit down and have a very serious discussion about debt and fiscal responsibility. That discussion is long overdue.

  • Winston

LOL-That’s why he didn’t fit in.

  • cynic

Near as I can tell, most of the hate is on the other side of the discussion.

  • Ferd Berfle

    Hate?-Nope
    Distrust?-Yep
    Another Bush-leaguer?-Yep
    Are we surprised?-Nope

  • AlexisM

cynic…Well, yup, I can tell you that I have a whole lot of hate, anger and rage. You betcha’. I guess that’s because I don’t take kindly to liars and con men. Nevertheless, I don’t choose to hate one party, blindly. I deal with the individual. And the individual in this case is a crook.

  • Winston

Well most of the male Obots wear thongs so you might have to pull the elastic band over their ears to get the six degrees of separation required for pain to set in.

I hope your not allergic to hemp. I would wear gloves.

Go read SarahPAC.com and weep, because she is going to be our next president!

  • AlexisM

I can say that I am going to be a very proud Republican next time I vote, and for the first time in my life. I can’t wait. The Dims are toast and swirling down the bowl.

Well, Winston, I must confess, that’s FUNNY!

  • Ben David

When Colin Powell endorsed obama and the obots were going apey WE here at No Quarter knew they were drinking the kool aid.
For months on end these folks keep harping for HRC to apoligize for her vote on the Iraq situation. HRC never did and they turned up the hate and the venom.
These same folks that berated HRC for her vote failed, and I mean failed to go after Colin Powell for his part in sitting the stage for the Iraq clusterf*** by his national televised speech to the U.N. selling(lie) the american people the U.S. needed to invade Iraq. Nary a word from those people, but here at No Quarter columns were devoted to telling the hypocrisey of the obots.
Now I saw this afternoon how Colin was so moved by obama being elected, but the none nuts at CNN would ask him about his part in going into Iraq and the 4000 plus americans killed.
Colin Powell is my book it the most over-rated person akin to Condi rice.
    I do thank you.

  • AlexisM

Hahahahh oowawa…I can just see it now. Obots piling out of those tiny cars. They’re such clowns!

  • AlexisM

Obamastolemyboyfriend and Winston…Sigh…I have lost a lot of friends and had a lot of fights. But at least we know for sure, 100%, that we are true Americans, patriots, and we are right. Those friends will all come back soon, hanging their heads in shame for what they have done to this country.

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

“With all respect, repetitious memes seem to be the basis of a disproportionate number of republican complaints.”

Heck, I lost that feeling of when dumbya pulled the coup in 2000.

  • meileen

Gregg already stated he is not going to run again.

Guess they didn’t inform you of that when you received your talking points.

  • Mary

    No Bazooka.

Removing the Census process from his department to give it directly to Rahm Emmanuel in the White House was an incredibly stupid faux pas that publicly humiliated the very man Obama chose as his nominee.

    Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Obama owes him a public apology.

  • Mary

    No, cynic.

Obama chose Gregg. When the Blacks and the Hispanics found out, they pressured Obama to remove the census from Gregg’s supervision in that department. Obama cratered.

That’s a clear slap in the face to the honor and dignity of the man Obama nominated, and done publicly, for the benefit of Obama’s supporters.

Obama publicly humiliated him. I’d quit, too.

  • Snickers

That is a good point, AlexisM. Certainly not the politicians. It doesn’t matter if the public says “NO, we don’t want this stimulus package,” they know what’s best for us. Although I knew this would happen with the Fraud in the WH, I told you so is a very empty platitude when we all have to endure his incompetence, inexperience, and corruption. As for the thieving, lying, crappy DNC, I am now re-registered as Independent, and I will never vote straight Democrat again. Hell, I might never vote for a Democrat again after this election theft.

  • Snickers

Well, Alexis, I certainly hope that is true. The longer this crap sandwich is on the table for us to look at, the more disgusted I am. How about we start over with this stimulus package and really do some stimulating, Congress? Hear me anyone in those hallowed halls?

  • http://donnadarko.wordpress.com donna darko

    Paid troll,

Charm and polls mean nothing because of the impending economic meltdown. An Obot:

I voted for him. He’s still charming, well-educated, and eloquent — but, Obama’s “compromise/reach out across the aisle” economic advisors are just producing economic stupidity (minus some of the Republican plutocratic meanness and outright theft).

If Obama doesn’t hire some smart people to help him soon, all his charm may not save us from an impending economic meltdown.

  • Ferd Berfle

If it’s a stimulus Congress wants, a cattle prod might do the trick for them. It will definitely get their attention.

  • Marissa

I hate to say it but the American people got what’s comin’ to them. This is who they wanted to lead this nation. They chose history over experience during this time of crisis and unfortunately the 62+ million of us who voted otherwise, we’ve got to suffer with everyone else’s stupidity.

If Obama puts this nation in peril because of his inexperience, it’ll be because of the stupidity of those damn Obots. They don’t care about this economy or the long-term, they care about themselves and all the pork or earmarks they get in the short-term.

I love how the obot – Bazooka – showed up with a few polls to defend Obama.

Really, it was like hearing faint signals from a dying satellite.

Kind of like That One’s grasp of, well, most everything.

  • Karma

    You missed the point.

Just like Obama floated in on a catch phrase and a theme….so did Newt. And when you look at Obama’s track record. I fully expect Obama will be less effective reaching his goals than Newt was.

While Newt may have been disgraced in your eyes for an affair. That just isn’t the case with conservatives who are looking to rebuild the brand. They see someone who battled the liberal media and made it work for Republicans, and then married that lovely lady.

For those like you who only remember scandal. Newt wisely appears on FoxNews regularly and the web trying to lure Dems and Inds with common sense commentary. Since, he doesn’t have the same probelms speaking extemporaneously that Obama does. He comes off more credible on every level. Obama should truly hope Newt doesn’t want the WH…or that he doesn’t lead another Republican Revolution.

Besides sex scandals with a mistress is so last century. ;)

  • Winston

    Right on Mary.

  • Anna

Bazooka, I don’t have the link, but a week or two before he took office, the approval rating was 84%.

  • http://donnadarko.wordpress.com donna darko

    Cinie brings it:

Okay, we didn’t want the guy who’s president to be president; I get that, right there with you, uh huh, sure you’re right. In fact, if I may be so bold, I really, really, really didn’t want him to be president, under any imaginable, foreseeable, or unforeseeable circumstances possible, probable or remotely predictable or conceivable. To be even more clear, if either Gary Coleman or Bussey were running with Joaquin Phoenix and/or Chris Brown, or Ronald McDonald or Mrs. Butterworth teamed up with big-headed Jack in the Box Jack, or the Taco Bell dog or the Geico gecko, I would have voted for any pair of them in an accelerated heartbeat. Chewing used collagen from Lara Flynn Boyle’s or Lisa Rinna’s over-puffed lips like Juicy Fruit would have been a fiesta of heretofore unfathomable orgasmic delight in comparison to having Barack Obama set foot in the White House on a Grey Line tour, in my humble opinion.

But, alas, he is president, and seems to be floundering in waters so far above his head he would have to climb the equivalent of the Sears Tower erected atop an erupting Mount St. Helens to see anything approximating daylight. Therefore, I’d like to suggest that maybe we PUMAs should help him out.

Time Magazine probably has an ace reporter trying to find out where Bill Clinton was when Lincoln was assassinated. EVERYTHING is Bill’s fault, according to that reality-suspended rag.

  • Woodhull

The state of CA must have the same lawyers and actuaries that FORD had when they arrived at the idea of “acceptable loss”. Remember the leaked memo between their lawyers and finance guys when they decided to keep making their saddlebag gas tanks on one of their trucks? It was their justification for putting people at risk of dying in a horrible conflagration versus the cost of settling a lawsuit over it. Then the gov’t shamed them for their blatant mercenary. I guess it’s okay for the gov’t to do that, though. Huh?

  • PamFlorida

The only jobs mentioned thus far are infra-structure (construction). Out of the $789 billion, $150-159 billion is allocated for these projects. Doesn’t seem like much money when you consider that figure includes the costs of planning and materials. BTW-How many of these new jobs will be for women and people over 50 who aren’t construction workers?
Green jobs? That will require engineers, scientists, researchers, and more construction workers.
How will the majority of the unemployed translate their experience and education into these fields?
No cynicism here, just want answers.

  • Gimme a break

They sure haven’t been right about much lately. The Bush years were nothing but a series of international and domestic policy screw-ups, culminating in a total train wreck as they went out the door. Just before the election they created a national panic that crashed the stock market, froze up the economy and created a global-scale financial crisis. Now they hover around the wreckage and howl about democratic efforts to clear away the mess, deficit spending after they gave us the worst years of it, and calculate how to get back into power in 2010 or 2012. Damn ‘em indeed. And grow up yourself. People forced to sit on the sidelines 20 of the last 28 years are angry, and with good reason.

I finally bit the bullet and switched to Republican since Independent isn’t really a choice here. I got tired of the really bizarre, violent rhetoric now being thrown at them. Rush a terrorist? Well, I’m not a fan and never liked him, but with Bill Ayers running around, people with glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Talk about inside-out thinking. It’s just ridiculous at this point.

As for the new administration causing a reality check, if the first month has been this embarassing, I can only imagine what the rest of the four years might be like. The only thing he as going for him is that the big media people like him and will cover for him, and he’s got the celebrity vibe.

  • Magic Puzzle Box

There was something I just read recently – unfortunately I forget where – about what would happen if Schwarzenegger ran for pres, that his birthplace would not be a constitutional challenge, it could be ignored on some grounds and he would be allowed on the ballot, etc. I’ll have to see if I can find that for you. I’ve been reading so much stuff I can’t keep track of it all anymore.

  • Thinker

These are the facts surrounding Clinton’s 8 years. The lowest unemployment in 40 years, the greatest economic expansion in US history, a balanced budget and a $5 1/2 TRILLION budget surplus.

If the deregulation under Clinton had anything to do with the subprime mortgage meltdown which is at the core of the crisis it wouldnt have taken 9 years to happen.

    -Marc Rubin

  • Thinker

Exactly, Bill Clinton left office with a surplus and a balanced budget and the Clinton Derangement sufferers are trying to blame him for the mess we are in 9 YEARS AFTER he left office?

It reminds me of the Obama supporter who told me that Bill Clinton is to blame for the current unemployment rates because, and I quote,

“He only gave people 5 years to get off welfare. That’s not enough time.”

I think historians will be a lot kinder to Bill.

We had a great, although not perfect President and so many stupid ass peple don’t even appreciate that.
