Maybe Obama was annoyed Brown didn’t put his mother’s service off for a month and a half so he could be there for an earlier vote? That tactic worked out swell for Obama with his grandmother’s service.

I work for a small engineering company that does a bit of manufacturing, and I believe we’ve just been told by suppliers to expect higher prices on stuff like copper wire, cable, and such. I could see it going either way at this point, since if demand is decreasing, then the prices should go down, but on the other hand, with all the printing of money, and the latest consumer spending news, it just might inflate from here on. So much theory, so little certainty. If the government would just ‘maximize certainty’ instead of promising ‘things that have never been done’, this thing might just clear up a lot quicker.

But my understanding is that an enormous amount of money has been printed in the last few months, but not yet quite ‘released’. What happens if this money is added to the money supply. I’m sure it’s part of the strategy to combat deflation, since a decrease in the money supply can cause deflation, and an increase should cause inflation.

We’ve already got a pilot-state for socialism: California. It’s stewing nicely. Should be ‘done’ shortly. One of the reasons Texas and other low-tax, low-cost-of-living states are getting businesses moving here. Escape the punitive environment of California. But thanks to the socialism in this damn spend-and-waste bill, citizens of fiscally responsible states will pay for the excesses of California. Now there’s some socialism for all of us.

Incidentally, if the base is designated as a NATO base, then the commander of the base should be of any nationality whose government is a part of the NATO alliance.
I do have to wonder, though, if the JBS would be as up in arms if the British or Candaian governments were making the request. (Well, knowing the little brains that make up the JBS, I guess they would, especially if they’re ignorant enough to believe that NATO has any connection with the “one-world government” boogeyman they enjoy perpetuating. With luck, the JBS might decide to join the 21st Century before 2099–but I doubt it.)
