In The “Better To Laugh” …

(bumped up by Susan from Sunday evening)

… Than Cry” department, I bring you the following Onion videos. Oh, sure, I thought about writing more about the whole Stimulus package, being hailed as a HUGE victory of “historic proportions” for Obama (I kid you not – check out this Washington Post article). As if it was COMPLETELY unexpected that the Democrats were going to get this pork-belly package, that NO ONE has fully read before voting on it, passed. What a SHOCK!! Please…

But I just can’t do it. If you DO want to read an excellent post on this subject, I highly recommend Uppity Woman’s post, “Congratulations Everyone! You’ve Been Stimulated!

Instead, given how highly orchestrated everything has been around the Product Obama, I bring you the following:

Seems pretty likely to me! Ahem. Hey, Obama DID say he was going to let the scientists do more, so there you have it!

And just for the hell of it, and just in case you actually KNOW anyone like this, I bring you this video:

Hope you get a few laughs out of this.

  • I’m a Linda too

OMG, that first video is just too perfect. See, reality can be funny. :)

    Pretty funny 2nd vid, too.

    Thank you.

  • James

LOL I can’t believe that W.Post article. WTF? It was clear they were going to pass anything with the huge Democratic advantage they have in Congress.

  • Katmoon

RRA, ROFL! Thank you for the laugh!

  • bert

RRRA – Just the antedote I need. Your story, not Despondex.

No matter what happens, if we can keep our sense of humor we will make it through.

  • Diana L. C.

I love the Onion! Thanks, and I have a person in mind for slipping some of the Despondex pills into her coffee. She is someone who is so cheerful all the time, I have to prevent myself from snarling at her. The only time she became a little sad was after reading an article from the Onion that had been left in the cafeteria.

She was worried that her mother might become upset when she found out the Vatican had accidentally washed the shroud of Turin with a red t-shirt and gotten it stained pink. We had to explain to her that the article was satire from a satirical paper. (I still don’t think she understand that concept.)

  • PainkillerJayne

lmao Land locked nation of Chad plans to sell it’s ports to highest bidding gullible nation………..lmao

I love those news blurbs on The Onion

  • oowawa

if we can keep our sense of humor we will make it through.

Yes, and if you ever doubt this, just go into the bathroom and start flushing the toilet. What does it say?

    ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! ROFL!

Now picture yourself throwing 1000 dollar bills into it before every flush:

    ROFL! ROFL! ROFL! ROFL!

Hey, thanks! Glad you liked it!

James, I know, right? WTH with them already? It’s just insane! We really are living in bizarro world…

  • Andy

Very funny, I liked the first two “natural remedies” to feel $$hitty :
    (1) following the news and (2) looking at your bank account.

    Thanks RRRAmy !

  • Linda Anselmi

    RRRA -

Too funny. I was speed reading your post, dealing with pesky dog, and clicked on the first video (not noticing the tell-tale onion) and if you could have seen my face as the words started to penetrate my brain. Oh, my, oh, my.

Great post. And thanks for the laughs.

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

LOL – believe you me, I understand abt the dog and everything, Linda (as one of my cats just tried to get my dinner).

I still need to go back and watch all of the “news” blurbs underneath – I completely missed the one abt Chad!

    Glad you liked them!

  • Andy

    Jams:

Read the following editorial though at WasPo:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/14/AR2009021401393.html

They are still too careful to openly criticize him but they certainly do not sound so …amused.

  • Doc99
  • yttik

Funny! Thank goodness for the Onion.

  • The Real HC

    haha gotta love The Onion.

  • EWard

    Rev. Amy & Andy

Thank you for posting the info about the lunatic Washington Post. They are as corrupt as Obama.

    Andy- The WP editorial

I’m afraid that they drank the kook-aid too. They are praising Obama for the reauthorization of the SCHIP health care program. However, that program is deeply flawed at our expense. It entices over 2 million people to drop their own health care coverage in favor of this government funded health program. SCHIP was set up to provide health services for children from low-income families.

Obama and Dems are on the way to bankrupting this country and all these “journalists” are clueless about the economic impact of their policies.

The Ledbetter Act was practically the law. All Obama did was sign his name to it.

I detest the MSM because they are abusive and corrupt just as OIAF.

  • EWard

    Rev. Amy

Kudos to that first video! Laughter is the best medicine…..

  • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Agreed, EWard – laughter IS good medicine, and critical in these days…Thank heavens for The Onion, right?

  • elise

That article did not seem very critical to me, Andy. The appointments with tax issues were not the result of not knowing how Washington worked or, only, to the extent he thought everything he does will get a pass. He only signed the Lily Ledbetter Act, but they seem to be giving him credit for all of it. I hope there will come a day, SOON, when he will be held accountable for the pay to play the Chicago Way he has tried to export to Washington. Otherwise, he won’t take this job seriously until a crisis requiring immediate action comes along.

  • elise

This is funny. I don’t think I will be investing any money in Despondex stocks anytime soon since it will surely tank.

  • Diana

I love the Onion. It’s great to use when you’re wanting to be facetious. Or when someone doesn’t know it satire. Thank you for sharing the fantastic videos. I need a few bottles of that Despondex. Whenever I hear someone say what a great job Obama is doing, I’ll hand them one. Maybe they’ll come back to reality for just a second. Our grandchildren and their children are so screwed. Bet they’ll remember us fondly when the USA changes to The Republic of China.

  • JulieD

    RRRA –

LOVE THE ONION! Perfect selection of creepy “for show” PBO admin. and help for me in second video. What’s wrong with the Botanical Gardens anyway? And my theme parties are AMAZING!!

  • Sassy

    Dang it all!
I checked my formulary, and Despondex is not listed!
I don’t drink libations, so I’m left holding the bag, as usual!

  • lark

Better to laugh at OBambi’s envious nights he is having now that Chavez won his right to run forever. :)

Will ACORN give him that right before 2012? Stay tuned.

  • jangles

Change: What will be left for those of us still remaining after Obama and his loving ones take what they want.

  • lark

And what can be more funny than Hillary Clinton issuing a warning.

  • OG

I think that Bobes and the Bobos know exactly what they are doing…

    Thanks for the link.

  • Prem

Thanks, RRR, for sharing these—they were great! My son works close to a newsstand that carries The Onion, which he brings home weekly. We spend a good half hour to an hour at least laughing at the brilliant satire that is written in most of those pages. I always wonder where those Onion writers come from—-someone should do an article on them!
