It would not be inaccurate to say that I am the leading expert on landmark preservation in Chicago, especially from the stanpoint of cevelopers.  Mr. Rezko has never been a clinet of mine and there is no fiduciary relationship with him.  I did appear before the Commission on many occasions, and particularly before the Program Committee of which Michelle Obama was a member.  She never voted against any of my requests and I  never lobbied her or any other member of the commission.  Anything I had to say was stated at public meetings ao I have no conflict of interest whatsoever.

A great disservice has been done to the Obamas to suggest that anything untoward was done in this process.  When Barack Obama said it was ‘boneheaded’ he was only correct to the extent that it might appear to be wrong.  Frankly, knowing all of the facts, I do not even see the ‘appearance of impropriety.

Another issue which I find reprehensible is the accusation that Michelle Obama received an undeserved salary increase when her husband became a U.S. Senator.  The truth is that she received the same salary as all others with the same title and responsibilites, and while it was a significant increased, it was more than deserved.

One hundred years from now all these critics will have the combined effect of a swarm of gnats.

BUT, your info on parking is completely wrong. The city of Chicago absolutely allows overnight street parking. There is no restriction on street parking at all on that block (unless it’s been put in since the election – we avoid that street now because of all the security).

Like I said, I can’t speak to the rest of it, but the legality of parking overnight on a Chicago street is such a simple fact that is so easy to check.
