Keeping a Good Thought for Susan

Our workhorse, Ms. Susan, came down with an appendix attack tonight and will shortly undergo an appendectomy.  She is a good and decent person and would appreciate your thoughts and support.  At least she’ll have a chance to relax a bit and watch the returns.

If Obama weren’t responsible for ethnic cleansing and mob crime this would never have happened.

    • kenoshaMarge

Susan, you have the kind of energy to handle any challenge. The mind and spirit are capacites unmatched by physical setbacks.

Let’s look forward to your ability having the upper hand, and you having new experience to speak from, so others facing similar situations can find inspiration.

Peace be with you and those close to heart.

More surgery?! Susan, this is really too much.

Wishing you an easy surgery and a very quick and full recovery.

And after that, try to stay out of the hospital for awhile!

  • justsomeone

Susan, wishing you a speedy & full recovery.

  • Gregoryp

I am new to this blog but I really appreciate the hard work, terrific insight and brilliant writing that she does on here. This place has been like a breath of fresh air. Susan, I hope you recover quickly and can get back to blogging soon.

  • Sandy

Wow, you really needed this, right, Susan? Sorry to hear it, but glad you’re getting good medical care. Please get well soon! We’re pulling for you!
    ((((Susan))))

  • Sometime-CIA-Defender

Don’t know if watching the returns was relaxing (certainly some fireworks where I was) but hope for a speedy recovery, Susan. :)

  • kenoshaMarge

I’m somewhat new to this blog, having been just a lurker for a long time, interested but somewhat afraid to comment much. But it doesn’t take long to recognize and appreciate Susan’s passion.
It’ll take more than a damn appendix to keep her down for long.

Wishing you the best Susan and hope you’ll be feeling fine and back in fighting fettle in no time.
You will be missed in the meantime.

  • http://www.evergreenpolitics.com shoephone

Susan – It just occured to me: if you need anything I can do a hand-off to your daughter (Tom’s store is only ten minutes from me…)

  • Cee

    Susan,

I’ll pray for you and your surgeon! What a year you’ve had!

  • http://makethemaccountable.com Carolyn Kay

Get well soon, Susan, we need you!

    Take heart from this:

Summing It Up (by Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo)
Before we give way to the night, let me try to pull together some rough thoughts on what happened here tonight… If you look at this from the vantage point of two weeks ago, it’s a huge win for Obama, since he was trailing in states across the country by a very big margin. From the vantage point of the last couple days, however, it’s much less clear. The hype of his momentum just got a bit out ahead of what he was able to pull off.

    And this:

Obama’s big name endorsements don’t pan out (The Hill)
Highly publicized big name endorsements did not help Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) win some of the key battleground states in the Democratic primary Tuesday night. Obama received major endorsements from Sens. Edward Kennedy and John Kerry in Massachusetts, as well as Sen. Claire McCaskill in Missouri and Gov. Janet Napolitano in Arizona but he failed to win any of the states.

USA Today is now saying that Obama won Missouri. But so much for the Barack-star strategy.

I agree with Carolyn. You have worked harder researching and writing than I could believe anyone can. And on a daily basis. Your blogs are where I go first thing in the morning, and I am never disappointed. I am convinced you and blogs were an influence in Hillary’s victory last night. Now it is your turn-relax, recover, and return. My thoughts are with you.

  • Rob Gard

Get well soon Susan, but stay away from the major media on television, as you don’t need to add stomach ulcers to your recovery process,

  • Centrocitta

Get well, Susan. But this is really weird. 360 days after my back surgery, I needed an emergency appendectomy too. Something to do with adhesions that formed close to the appendix as a result of the first surgery. Of course, they don’t bother to warn you about these possibilities ahead of time.

  • Pvt. Keepout

Get well quick and resume posting. I miss your stuff.
Also, belated Get Well on last fall’s hospitalization; sent you a card at the hospital but you’d already left & it was returned.
Thanks for all your good work. Read you soon.

  • Sandy

Susan, hoping you are through the surgery now and on your way to a speedy recovery.

Get well soon. We miss you.

  • http://cujo359.blogspot.com Cujo359

    Get well, Susan.

  • arwe

    Susan,

When you said you were going to “bust a gut” giving us the most up to date, reliable information possible, we didn’t think you’d really do it.

    Get healthy soon.

One prayer already sent to “The Big Ranger in the Sky.” :-) More to follow.

    speedy and COMPLETE recovery, Susan!

    thoughts and prayers to you.

    • simon

I haven’t read any update, yet, she is OK?

  • ybnormal

    And just when you thought…
    oh well,
Get well soon and good health to you.

  • catherine

Good lord, you think watching the returns will help her feel better? Susan, watch a comedy, or at least an action thriller. And get well, because spring is coming.

Susan is doing OK, surgery went well?

  • Donovan Fraser

hope all is well Susan and that soon you’ll be back to your old self again..my prayers are with you.
    :)

It’s a proven fact that irrational anger toward a popular and successful politician is directly related to inflammatory disease of the appendix. I’d suggest you cool your hostility toward the next president of the United States.
