What was Aasiya’s crime? Apparently, days before Aasiya had served Muzzamil with divorce papers.

Join “Sins of Omission” on TONIGHT! — February 23rd at 9 pm EST — as we talk with Marcia Pappas, President of NOW (New York State) about the role of culture and religion in violence against women.

As always, Paula Abeles will be beautifully prepared for this important interview, and YOUR questions and comments will be encouraged during the show! CALL IN at (347) 677-0792!

FOR MORE on this hideous story, check out LisaB’s recent post, “Brewing scandal, Replacing the “n-word,” Buffalo beheading, and an Obama apology?.”

I can’t understand why there is so little coverage of these type of so called “honor killings”. Political correctness has absolutely gone off the deep end. On a complete side note… Texas H.C.R. 50 looks to be a sign of sorts.

  • PamFlorida

Heard this guy has only been charged with 2nd degree murder. Why not 1st degree? TV stations don’t usually have weapons useful for beheadings laying around, do they?

  • Rah-Rah

I believe, and please correct me if I am wrong, but in New York, you have to have killed a law enforcement official for it to be 1st degree murder.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Let’s just pray that he gets the maximum. However, it looks like he has money so he’ll probably be able to hire very good attorneys.

ONE THING THOUGH: Can you imagine — just let your imagination go wild — what his life in prison will be like? Holy smokes. I would expect that he’ll get beaten, and god knows what else.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Pam, that’s something that I bet Paulie and her guest will know about.

Btw, I alerted Paulie to this post so I’m sure she will be reading and noting your comments and your questions.

SO ASK QUESTIONS HERE that you’d like discussed on the radio show on Monday night. You can count on Paulie doing everything she can to find out it all. Hell, knowing Paulie, she’ll be an expert on New York penal law by Monday night.

  • lark

I am nauseated by TSA’s Full Body Scanners. Exactly how does that differentiates from beheading?

  • lark

I will begin to respect the Muslim faith over the Christian faith if Muslims refuse to be full body scanned and organize a boycott of air traveling.

As far as I am concerned, if the Christian church does not opposes full body scans and does not organize a boycott of air travel then they might as well be for abortion on demand.

On the topic of Eric Holder calling everyone in America “cowards” regarding racism (jerk), here’s an article that agrees…yup, we’re a “nation of cowards.” Because, under the fear of being called “racist,” we didn’t vet Obama. This country attacked Palin, which was okay because she is white. But God forbid anyone asked questions about Ayers, etc. we would be racists. So no one asked. And we got the loser we deserved. Take a read….

The Texas H.C.R. 50 is an interesting form of protest. I’m curious to see the conversation it might generate.

  • John

Off-Topic, but I am just seeing red right now- Ed Schultz, chief Liberal Talk Radio Bloviator, opened his show with this nugget:

“Bill Clinton just can’t help himself; once again, he’s giving Monday morning quarterback advice to President Obama. Hey Bill, here’s my advice: SHUT UP! If you want a talk show, you can give all the advice you want…”

CLICK. I will never EVER listen to one moment of this fat moron again, on the radio OR TV (where he’s becoming increasingly popular as a guest, mainly because he is very happy attacking Bill Clinton.)

To sum up Schultz’s rant: Ed Schultz is a talk show host, so if he wants to give Obama advice, that’s fine. Bill Clinton is a former POTUS, so really, what advice could he possibly have for Obama?

    These morons make me sick.

  • Seattle Moss

yup, we’re a “nation of cowards.” Because, under the fear of being called “racist,” we didn’t vet Obama.

I’m not sure Holder meant that, but you hit it on the money!

  • AlexisM

Being PC is ridiculous these days. If you dare to mention what religion this wife murderer is (of course he’s Muslim, who else commits these “honor” killings) then you will get 100 posts here beating the crap out of you telling you that you are a racist. Gee, where have we heard that meme before?

  • AlexisM

Seattle, no Eric Holder didn’t mean that. This is an American Thinker article in RESPONSE to Eric Holder’s nonsense.

    Hi,

I would like Paulie to ask Marcia about NOW’s position on Sarah Palin (just like you did to Himilce Novas last week, Susan, who, I believe, replied by saying incredibly insulting things about Palin). I want someone high up in NOW to comment on why so many women now (since the primaries) hold the view that being called a feminist should not be a confined privilege of women who hold pro-choice stances. If she, too, answers in a similar way to Novas, then I will hold the opinion that NOW is not the right organisation for 21st century feminism (and maybe has never been the right organisation).

    Great article Alexis!

Yes the media are the real cowards for allowing a community organizer with ZIP experience to be elected president at the very moment that we need someone experienced to save this country.

The Obama collapse has been happening ever since it was known that he would win…

Go Texas! Maybe I should move there.

  • beachnan

I stopped listening to Ed a long time ago. He came out in favor of Obama in November or December of 2007. He was disgusting, and is disgusting and a waste of air. He has drunk the koolaid and just bloviates praise for Obama. I’m going to love watching him take the egg off his face, as Obama implodes. Then I might turn into his show again, to hear him cry. What an ass!!!!

  • Idiocracy08

Too many people equate Texas with the Bushes. However, I think of Ann Richards and Barabra Jordan.

  • AlexisM

Go Texas. By the way, this is what at least a dozen states think of the CRAP Bill and the interference of the Feds in state rights:

  • AlexisM

NOW is in no way the correct representative of 21st Century feminism. The way they attacked Palin is a disgrace to women. The only person in NOW who stood up for Palin was Shelley Mandel, the head of the LA Chapter of NOW, calling Palin “what a real feminist looks like.” And Mandel caught hell for doing it from the catty bitches so called “feminists” who thought Palin should have aborted her baby Trig. Makes me sick.

Yaser Abdel Said, the 50-year-old Lewisville father, remained at large, police said. He is accused of fatally shooting his 17- and 18-year-old daughters, police said.

Investigators did not describe the domestic issues or say who was involved.

Police said they suspect that Said may have shot his daughters — Sarah Yaser Said, 17, and Amina Yaser Said, 18 — and left them for dead in his taxi.

    ………….

Believe it or not, the religious folks of this particular religion say it is racist if it is said it is an honor killing, just as they did with the two minor sisters killed by their father in Texas. The media/press is complicit in allowing more of these horrific murders to occur…SILENCE IS OUR GREATEST ENEMY!

WE MUST DIVEST FROM MISOGYNY NOW!

Yet you have Obama apologizing to the Muslim world at the same time that even moderate Muslims continue to treat women like it was the 2nd century.

Violent jackass males brutally murdering their estranged wives or girlfriends is appallingly common in our own culture, in case we’ve forgotten.

The stories in the local newspapers–which are many daily across the country–don’t generally read Christian man shoots, stabs, strangles, or beats to death with a baseball bat estranged wife. Religion only comes up if he happens to commit the crime in the family church–as with a story that briefly made national news last year.

The guy didn’t kill his wife because he’s a Muslim. He killed his wife because underneath the well groomed, well dressed exterior lurked an impulsive violent jackass. If he cites his religion as an explanation, he’s just rationalizing.

Cynic…WTF? He beheaded his wife and he’s a Muslim. End of story. Shame on you.

Yes people kill their wives. But, unlike in Islam, they don’t kill them in the name of God, religion or because the Koran clearly states that your wife is the equivalent of a frigging camel. Wonder how you would feel if your daughter married a Muslim and he did this. Might change your over the top PC tune.

O-Bomb is bad for America. Period. Here is something from our should-have-been-President Johnnie Mac. We should all watch it.

    Dear Friends,

I wanted to send a quick email to let you know that I will be appearing on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday morning. Please check your local listing for airtimes in your home town.

Among other topics, I hope to discuss President Obama’s plans to send more troops to Afghanistan, a decision I support. However, more troops alone will not lead to success and President Obama has yet to articulate a coherent strategy for achieving victory in Afghanistan. While I welcome the President’s decision, I hope it is the first step in a comprehensive new strategy.

In addition, I will hopefully have the opportunity to discuss the stimulus package and how we should address the country’s mortgage crisis.

I hope you will tune in Sunday.

    Sincerely,

    John McCain
    Chair, Country First PAC

  • AlexisM

And these BS comments defending the Muslim nonsense because other people kill their wives blows my damned mind. The Muslims need to stop this “honor” killing barbarism. Period.

  • kat in your hat

The man. It’s a man thing.

  • cynic

The old testament of the Christian bible tells us when killing is called for. Stoning is recommended for adultresses, virgins who get out of line, and disobedient sons, etc. Consider Deuteronomy 22.20-22.21. Gay people get the same sort of textual attention.

We don’t think about or refer to that stuff when a Baptist looking for his wife turns up at their church with a shotgun, full of righteous indignation.

  • cynic

It’s a violent jackass male thing. All men are males. Some males are violent jackasses. Others are hardwired to love, protect, and defend.

O-Mighty would do well to listen to Bill Clinton. I heard Bill last night describe the stimulus as a “bridge” to get back. Unfortunately for O-Mighty, but maybe fortunate for the rest of us… his handlers still think they can just campaign and people will just keep on “tingling” and “fainting” over him. That is going to wear real thin real fast.

  • TexasMirth

What is so disturbing about this heartbreaking tragedy is the fact that someone (or group of someones) is hiding this guy. WHY? Protecting a father who killed his own children indicates to me that the protectors condone what he did.

  • susan h

You don’t have to be a muslim to be a wife murderer: 1) O.J. Simpson. 2. Drew Peterson. These men have one thing in common that we know. They are CONTROL FREAKS. Every religion, every race, every group has them.

In O.J.’s case, I believe Nicole had filed for divorce and there was something about taxes that she had let the IRS know which OJ was trying to hide (not sure of the details now, but I do remember reading about it). When he found out she was bringing up this tax thing, he went NUTS.

In Drew’s case, his policeman background may have made him think he was above the law. He often said he could stage an accident and no one would know. Perhaps both wives were going to leave him after finding out what a creep he was, but he murdered them rather than allowing that to happen.

Our culture does not promote the killing of ANY woman if she has pre-marital sex, because she is “unclean.” This has nothing to do with men who are jealous, pissed, etc.at their spouses for God’s sakes. These Muslim women are killed by their FATHERS, BROTHERS, ETC. Their own family, because the family faces SHAME. These women are killed for having “free will.” What is the MATTER with you? How can you people possibly be so screwed up that you equate the two things? For the love of God stop giving Muslims a hall pass for this brutal ritual against women. Really. SHAME ON YOU.

  • Peggy Sue

It’s the real disconnect between these stories anymore that make people’s head spin [well, okay it makes my head spin]. The stories that Lisa had up last night is a perfect example. The horrific nature of this crime where a man beheads his wife, a man who was stroked by the MSM as a successful moderate pressed against Bishop Tutu’s suggestion that Obama apologize for Iraq.

I’d like to make a suggestion: how about the radical Islamists apologize to the world in general and women in particular. Just a thought.

And then we have the satellite stories of the word President replacing the n-word and Congress having a terminal case of head lice. These last stories are obvious satire, but the bizarre, shocking nature of the “real” stories are beginning to all blend together, because the details, whether it be fraud or violence or PC nonsense, are so clearly over the top.

I’ll definitely tune into Pauls’s show. And I hope to God, the condemnation from the NOW representative is unequivocal. There is no excuse for this man’s action, none. No PC culture/religion excuse. This is a criminal, barbaric act. And it happened here, not Pakistan or Iran. The full measure of American law should fall on this man’s head.

If there’s anytime for the “moderate” Muslims to stand up and be counted, it’s right this moment. They need to say absolutely “no” to barbarism.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the liberal left has given this story short shrift. Sort of messes up the idea that we’re all going to have a group hug with extremists and fanatics.

  • AlexisM

The women in this country just must be so in love with that creepy Fraud that they will take any crap he throws at them. Hillary, Palin, all of his other shenanigans, and he would never come out and make a statement against the radical Islamic scum that keeps beheading, raping, and mutilating women. Nope. Group hug is right. He should be slapped down big time by the women in this country, but instead they have wet dreams about him. It’s so wrong.

  • cynic

Did you know that until the Brazilian supreme court made a landmark decision in 1991, “legitimate defense of honor” was an acceptable legal defense for Brazilian males who killed wives or girlfriends? Thousands of murderers escaped punishment on that basis. We’re talking about a western Christian nation, here.

No way in hell am I defending violence or making excuses for anybody. The guy in NY is obviously a total bastard, and I hope they make an example of him. I’m just pointing out that it’s wrong to demonized all Muslims based on the appalling behavior of some Muslims.

  • AlexisM

PS your argument is BS because there are many cases when the MOTHER in the house too joins in the murders. Remember the case of the Muslim family in LA where the father AND MOTHER stabbed their daughter to death for having sex with her boyfriend, who I think was black. So, blasting off that Muslims murder women because men are jerks isn’t really valid.

  • AlexisM

Why do you always misinterpret things? Like, if we hate the Pork Bill, we are saying to “do nothing?” Or when we don’t like that Muslims brutalize women, you bring up every other murder of a woman in history? That’s not the point. Muslims commit honor killings. Honor killings are bad and wrong. Therefore Muslims should stop doing it. Period.

  • LisaB

Sure we do. All the stories will talk about that “fundamentalist Baptist” (and if he’s southern: redneck, white trash, etc.).

But beheading is still peculiar to those claiming to be muslim. And while all cultures have used beheading, it is not prevalent in any society or culture in the PRESENT. Except for angry, self-described muslim men.

  • Docelder

    HEAD OF THE CIA

Interesting commentary he gave yesterday about honesty… about telling things like they are and not how we want to hear them. I am not sure interesting covers it… more like irony maybe. I don’t understand a lot I guess, because I just don’t get it.

  • Peggy Sue

I’m not demonizing Muslims, Cynic. I want to see the moderate Muslims stand up and be counted. I do not believe that the entire Muslim community supports this sort of thing.

    But where are their voices??

The silence is deafening as it is from the Far Left. And frankly, I find that silence disgusting. No one is saying that violence against women does not, has not happened in other religions or other cultures.

But this happened here. And if citizens of good faith and will don’t take a strong stand when it happens right in our own neighborhood, then we might as well throw in the towel. Because if we stand silent and/or make excuses then we have truly lost our moral compass. And we won’t last long without one.

  • TeakWoodKite

    ot;
My sincere apologies for the long post.
From a Budget Memo I got here in CA.
Of note is the “lottery securitization”.

    May 19 special election

As part of the budget plan, a special election will be called for May 19. On the ballot will be five specific proposals needed to implement the plan. Included in those ballot measures are three proposals that impact schools: State Lottery, Proposition 98 maintenance factor, and a modified budget stabilization mandate.

Here is how the May 19 ballot will shape up:

    • Proposition 1A: State Lottery.
    • Proposition 1B: Budget Stabilization (ACA 1 3x)
    • Proposition 1C: Education Funding – Proposition 98 Maintenance Factor (ACA 2 3x)
    • Proposition 1D: Allows the state to divert the use of Proposition 63 monies
    • Proposition 1E: Allows the state to divert the use of Proposition 10 monies

    State Lottery – Proposition 1A

Voter approval is needed on a plan to securitize the state lottery, taking schools out of the lottery and allowing the state to sell bonds to help balance the budget in the 2009-10 fiscal year and possibly later. Schools will see an increase in Proposition 98 funding to accommodate the loss of lottery revenue. This will appear as Proposition 1A. It is the same proposal that was part of the current year budget adopted in Sept. 2008.

    Budget stabilization – Proposition 1B

ACA 3X 1 (Niello), which will appear on the May 19 ballot as Proposition 1B, establishes a state rainy day fund. Beginning with the 2011-12 fiscal year, ACA 3X 1 would require the state to calculate “unanticipated revenues.” Unanticipated revenues would be actual revenues (plus transfers and prior year reserves) that exceed forecasted revenues for that year. The calculation of forecasted revenues would be based on actual revenues received for the prior 10 years, using a linear regression analysis.

The first use of unanticipated revenues would be to satisfy any outstanding Proposition 98 obligations for that year. Any remaining funds would be transferred to the Budget Stabilization Fund until the amount in the fund reaches 12.5 percent of General Fund revenues. However, the transfer to the rainy day fund could be less than the difference between actual and forecasted revenues if a portion of the excess revenues are needed to maintain a “workload” budget. The workload budget would be defined as the General Fund expenditures for the prior year as increased for the so-called “Gann factors” (California CPI and population growth).

After the Budget Stabilization Fund reaches its cap, any unanticipated revenues would be spent in the following order of priority:

    1. Outstanding Proposition 98 obligations
    2. Debt service
    3. One-time infrastructure or other capital outlay purposes
    4. Additional debt retirement
    5. Unfunded liabilities for vested non pension benefits for state annuitants
    6. Transfer by statute to the Budget Stabilization Fund

    Proposition 98 Maintenance Factor – Proposition 1C

In January, an issue arose regarding the long term funding levels under Proposition 98. During downturns in state revenues, Proposition 98 allows for a lower level of funding for schools known as Test 3. However the Constitution also provides that the loss of funding be restored over time, through a “maintenance factor.” The Department of Finance, in calculating the revised funding levels for 2008-09 and 2009-10, determined that both years would be Test 1 years and in this determination they also asserted that no maintenance factor was created. This opinion would have resulted in a loss of $9 billion in future maintenance factor payments to schools.

This issue was part of the negotiations on the budget deal and an agreement was reached that calls for a constitutional amendment that would provide $9.3 billion in payments to schools and community colleges. Specifically the proposal, contained in ACA3X 2 (Bass), would establish annual supplemental payments beginning in 2011-12 that would be in lieu of a maintenance factor for 2007-08 and 2008-09. The supplemental funding would be adjustments to school district revenue limits and in addition to the Proposition 98 guarantee. The supplemental payments would subsequently be built into the base for each year. Up to $200 million would be set aside in the first payment to fully fund any remaining equalization.

Establishing these supplemental payments is linked to the establishment of a rainy day fund as the funding source for these payments would be half of the annual set-aside for the fund. ACA3X 1 (Niello) creates the Supplemental Education Payment Account for the purpose of making the payments to schools and requires that 1.5 percent of general fund revenues be transferred to that account annually. The entire $9.3 billion would likely be paid out over five years.

The maintenance factor issue will appear before voters as Proposition 1C on the May 19 ballot.

    Budget overview

The overall budget solution includes $15 billion in cuts, $14.4 billion in temporary revenues, and $11 billion of borrowing ($6 billion from RAWs and $5 billion from lottery securitization). Revenues include five major elements:

    • 1 cent increase in the sales tax
    • Increase in the VLF to 1 percent of the car’s value
    • .25 percent increase in income tax rates
    • Reduction of the dependent care tax credit
    • Income tax surcharge of 2.5 percent

Revenues are tied directly to the passage or failure of the budget stabilization proposal which will appear on the ballot on May 19 of this year. If the spending cap is approved by voters, then the revenues will stay in effect through the 2012-13 fiscal year. If the spending cap is not approved by voters, then the revenue will stay in effect for only 24 months after their enactment.

    Impact of federal stimulus package

The federal stimulus package was signed into law by President Obama this week. This funding will provide $789 billion to boost the national economy. While there will be billions of dollars provided for education, these resources will have a minimal impact on reducing the size and magnitude of the state reductions in education funding. The current stimulus package contains funding dedicated to a provision called the “State Stabilization Fund.” This funding will be allocated to local school districts and/or higher education using existing funding formulas, which can be used to backfill cuts, prevent layoffs and modernize schools as well as other purposes. However, these funds will be provided to the governor to determine how they will be spent. We believe that the Legislature will also want a say in how to use those resources not specifically targeted to schools. For example, a portion of the non-school allocation could be used to pay for the state’s Revenue Anticipation Warrants and to build the state General Fund reserves. Right now, there is clear intent that the federal money for schools be used to supplement existing resources and language in the bill clearly requires allocation to schools based on current allocation methods.

Texas put the National Guard on high alert. Of course we are hearing nothing from the do nothng White House. This is serious shit. Why isn’t Obama addressing it?

  • cynic

    But where are their voices??

I agree. That is a totally legitimate question, and one that people need to keep publicly asking until we start hearing them.

Christians are followers of the New
Testament, comprising the four books of the Gospel which chronicle the life of Jesus Christ. During his ministry, Christ Himself took flak from those challenging His proclamation of a new Way (deviating from Judaism of the time, which was based on what we call the Old Testament). Recall the story of the adulteress who was about to be stoned by the mob. Jesus knelt down and began to enumerate the sins of those holding the death weapons. “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” This incident succintly illustrates Christianity’s treatment of adulterous women – as exemplified by its Founder.

I go to Mass regularly, when is the last time you attended a Christian service?

Catholics use the example of Saint Joseph as a model for Christian fatherhood and partner of his spouse. The iconography that grew around this important Catholic saint includes his kindness and loving responsibility as a spouse. Because I am an observant Christian, knowledgeable about the traditions and scripture of my faith, I can only laugh when posters like yourself pull some boilerplate stereotype Baptist character out of your back pocket.

Here’s a tip for you: It’s generally not an effective way to create moral equivalency between a religion that tolerates honor killings and Christianity. Come up with a new shtick.

  • cynic

I’m going to leave the argument here, because I’m afraid I’m going to start sounding like a Muslim apologist. Which I most definitely am not.

  • Docelder

Honestly, if the Mexicans figure out how to flood into Texas and declare “political asylum” we might just be better off making Mexico a U.S. Territory and be done with it… because once that happens… millions of their citizens will be coming across for our hospitality, health care and of course food cards. It will be a leftist socialists dream come true and a taxpayers nightmare all at the same time.

Catch Glenn Beck’s 02/20/09 War Room.

He’s got right wing guests today talking about an overthrow of the United States government by force. They’re within a hairs breadth of openly advocating.

How do you know when you’ve finally crossed the line into crazy?

  • AlexisM

They’re not crazy. We want our country back. Period. I totally advocate overthrowing this piece of crap President and Congress while we still have something to care about.

On another note, here is what one of our reps has to say about Obama….Tick tock, tick tock…

From a State Representative, Sam Rohrer, of Pennsylvania.
    **********************************************************

    Sorry Mr. President:
It’s More Than a Healthy Difference of Opinion!

Just the other day, our newly elected President Obama, made the bizarre statement that the anger he is hearing from individuals across America and the disapproving statements emanating from some in Congress against the recent “Economic Stimulus Bill” is not really an issue. According to our President, “It’s only a healthy difference of opinion.”

To that I say, hogwash. Healthy (but unimportant) differences of opinion? These are serious questions: Economic Stimulus or a Bankrupting de-Stimulus? Wise investment or disastrous debt? New Deal or Raw Deal? Prudent planning or central planning? Nationalization or free-enterprise? Socialism or capitalism? Transparency or Chicago politics? Promises kept or promises broken? Inspiring leadership or blatant power-grabbing? Shall I go on?

These contrasts are not just differences of opinion, but foundational distinctions between honesty and deception, between freedom and tyranny, between the rule of law and the law of raw power. Yes, between good and evil. I am embarrassed and angered at this naked expansion of government and the Obama promise that this “mammoth package is just the beginning”

No, my friends. We are beyond simple differences of opinion. We’re into core values, to matters of conviction of principle and philosophy. We’re into those things that force grown men to the point where they are compelled to say “Enough is enough” and to draw the line, to stand up or risk being untrue to themselves and their families.

I have longed and prayed that this President would indeed bring some good change, the kind that could bring us closer together as a nation. The kind that would produce leadership marked with reason, wisdom and prudence. The kind that would strengthen the candle of freedom and restore the moral strength that marks the America we all love. But, act after act, decision after decision, and arrogant comment after arrogant comment has erased all hope for any “good” change, and this in just a matter of weeks.

And what convinced me beyond all doubt of the change intended by our Commander in Chief were his carefully chosen comments this past Thursday. It was Lincoln’s birthday – a day to celebrate the birth of a loved President. Obama used the occasion to appropriate the image of our 16th President to himself and to shamelessly compare his unconstitutional move into socialism to the ending of slavery and the uniting of a divided nation. As bad as this was, our President blatantly reached back to our Founding Fathers seeking to ascribe to himself the remembrance of those who were willing to sacrifice their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor for our Constitution and for our freedom. When the Constitution was ratified, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin what we now had. His comment: “you now have a republic, if you can keep it.” Franklin’s inspiring words of warning were surgically lifted by our President and fraudulently applied to himself in justification of the Stimulus Plan. As I heard him say, “my actions on this stimulus plan are necessary to preserve our republic!” I could just hear Franklin and Jefferson and the others scream out from the grave.

When I heard this statement I became utterly convinced that we are not watching a man who is still seeking truth with whom we should give the benefit of the doubt. No, I am left with the firm conclusion that we are watching an intelligent, strategic, and miss-directed man. A man focused on himself. A man who is willing to re-define the most holy and sacred concepts of freedom and liberty to justify the most unholy and most enslaving actions that marked the very tyranny that our Founders opposed. This shouts out to me, and I hope to you, the reasons we must look for opportunities to “draw the line” and to “stand up”.

More to you later on how. Feel free to get back to me with how you feel we can best “Stand Up.”

    For the Cause of Liberty,

    State Representative Sam Rohrer
    District 128 – Berks County

“I totally advocate overthrowing this piece of crap President and Congress while we still have something to care about.”

You have either crossed that line I mentioned, or you don’t have a clue what revolution means.

  • kat in your hat

No, I am *not* saying that it’s a guy thing, in that sense. The question I responded to was who does is honor?

It’s about honoring the man. In case someone is new to the planet, Islam favors the man.

  • NoBamaNoWay

correct; not only do the families of the murderers often support his actions, but from what i’ve heard, in muslim countries the authorities often look the other way. that shows that it is not a case of a few wackos; it is part of the culture.

  • Docelder

There is a cost for everything… actions, inaction, revolution or complacency. None of these is without cost or consequence.

  • NoBamaNoWay

not every culture SUPPORTS these psychopaths like islam does. that’s one of the differences.

You might regret that invite the next few years, lol. Texas seems to be in a good place to be an independent entity if it is needed. If that happens, you might get more people than you can handle trying to get in and we’d be legal citizens. Or maybe not, if Texas becomes it’s own country. You’d have illegals trying to get in from all sides! Great state by the way.

  • obamastolemyboyfriend

That statement is right on! I agree with AlexisM!
How do you change things without revolt? One could say vote this trash out, but as 2008 showed us, it is not about the vote. The candidate who can buy the office, buys the office. There is no democracy here anymore. All of my letters to my representatives are answered with-thank you for writing, but Obama is wonderful and we support anything he wants to do. We know better then you what we should be doing and don’t contact me again in this issue. They have forgotten that they work for us. They think we have to do as they say, when in fact, our Government is set up to do what the majority wants done. It should never even happen that a bill like the stinkulus gets passed with only 37% approval from Americans. That is not supposed to be how it works, but it does. Our Government operates on a plane way above us and we are down here to fend fr ourselves! Talk will not work, when leaders don’t listen. Revolution may be the only way! I hope it doesn’t come to that, but I don’t see anyway to stop the insanity. The Government is like some rabid beast machine that needs to lose all power. The only way to do it would be turn it off, unplug it. It won’t turn itself off!

  • candymarl

The US Constitution gives The People the Right not the Privilege to Abolish the government. It doesn’t say how.

The same thing was suggested during the last administration. Those who opposed Bush didn’t say it was crazy then. Many frequently cited the Constitution as reasoning.

    Funny how things change.

  • candymarl

You mean the same civilian security force that Obama has proposed?

The one that will be as well trained and as well funded as the US military?

No mention of imposing the same legal and Constitutional restraints as the US military.

    Hmmm.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte LaRue

    Scared much, Obot?

All the talk of change that Obama represented. Calling those who did not support him racist and an endless supply of other slanderous names, has congealed into a very healthy anger. The fraud and corruption that was allowed to happen in order to get Obama (s)elected is now being met with equal force.

If Obama represents change towards socialism then the other swing point on the pendulum is in direct opposition to that.

Get used to it. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

Be careful what you wish for.

  • NomNomNom

The reason these horrific killings are being largely ignored is not because the perpetrators are Muslims but because the victims are women. Murder is the lead cause of death of all women in my age group. It’s a y-chromosome problem not just a religion problem.
    Just sayin.

  • NomNomNom

I agree with both of you: I want the POS and his faux government (a continuation of the last faux government) gone for good: however, I do not want random violence directed at anyone and everyone.
There really are some good third party candidates. I am going to name a name, and you will probably think she’s a nut, but I strongly urge you to check out her videos on youtube and remember she does have actual experience (12 years as a representative) unlike many 3rd party candidates: Cynthia McKinney. Remember that the msm has a vested interest in painting anyone who opposes them as a nut too.

She is not a stooge of the current or former “government” aka our not so very dear not so much leaders.
Revolution or no, we need real leaders who aren’t gutless cowards afraid to speak up. Let’s make a list and start supporting them financially, because all revolutions– peaceful and not– do take money.

There are some Muslims who show courage to call out the bullshit when they see it, including this woman, Wafa Sultan, an Arab-American psychologist from Los Angeles. This is a video from, of all places, “Al Jazeera television”. The woman is speaking Arabic, but there are English subtitles. This is one brave woman, but her life is probably endangered now for speaking out.

The irony here is that this murderous husband was supposed to be just that voice of moderation. That is why he and his wife started that television channel, to combat damaging stereotypes and generalizations against Muslims, and to show the American public that not all Muslims are crazed sword-weilding beheaders.

  • http://noquarterusa No-nonsense-Nancy

My daughter lives in upstate NY, not far from Buffalo, and says that nothing had been reported on this terrible beheading. She didn’t know anything about it. Her husband gets a lot of news on line from the area but he didn’t even read anything about it. It blows my mind!

  • Lessa

Didn’t the National Organization For Woman turntheir back on Hillary and support HIM?

  • FLDemFem

“Honor” killings don’t honor anyone. They are allegedly in defense of the honor of the family, or the husband. To avenge shame or prevent it. They don’t kill people “in honor” of anyone, they do it because they perceive that their honor has been impugned by the victim. So, by killing the person who is besmirching their honor, their honor is saved.

  • FLDemFem

Actually, beheading is still a form of legal execution in several Middle Eastern countries, notably Saudi Arabia. There the beheadings are public, I believe.

  • FLDemFem

In NY state, first degree murder must have premeditation. So unless they can find evidence that he planned it in advance as opposed to losing his temper and killing her, then it is second degree murder. If they find evidence that he brought the weapon to the station and lured her down there to kill her, then they can charge him with first degree murder. If they charge him with first degree murder and the jury finds he didn’t plan it, he can walk away a free man. So second degree murder is good because they can prove that. He went to the police and confessed after the murder. It’s a slam dunk second degree murder case, but not a provable first degree murder case right now. If the investigation provides evidence of premeditation, then they can always amend the charges to first degree murder.

  • FLDemFem

What we need to do is not violence, or illegal rantings about overthrowing the government. Do that and what will you end up with? Anarchy with the people who have guns getting everything they want and the people without them being used for target practice. I have seen revolution and its results up close and it’s not pretty. What we need to do is start insisting on impeachment. Those Republicans mentioned above should be advocating impeachment, on various grounds starting with election fraud stemming from the actions of the Obummer campaign in the caucuses. And then go on to the donor lists, many many of those names are fraudulent, and some are not permitted to donate to a campaign. Then go to his citizenship and the lack of record on his birth. Then go to Patrick Fitzgerald and see what he has. I bet he has enough dirt on Obummer to bring him down without bloodshed. Ask Rezko what he knows. Give him a deal, a good one, for talking about his relationship with Obummer and the money funneled to Obummer through the law firm he worked for. Obummer got paid $8000 a month when the legislature wasn’t in session, from May to Jan of every year he was a state senator. The money went directly to Obummer, did not go through the usual cuts by partners, etc. That was on top of his $50,000 a year for being a state senator. Look at Obummer’s past with a microscope, you will find enough to bring him down without breaking the law and subverting the Constitution.

  • Snickers

Actually Alexis, I was the VP of Oregon NOW and I went to Las Vegas and talked to a rally on behalf of Sarah Palin and endorsed her. I was there with Sarah and Shelly and others, so saying that Shelly Mandell is the only one (or officer in NOW) who supported and stood up for Sarah Palin is erroneous. I’m still taking flak from it, by the way, and I would do it all over again. And Marcia Pappas is a jewel and a great feminist, and does a wonderful job for NY NOW.

  • The Real HC

In Islam a woman is the dependent of her nearest male relative, husband or father usually.

Anything a woman does that might call into question the family honor requires her responsible males to discipline her, otherwise clan honor is lost as a whole. Up to and including killing her.

I see no parallel in American society, and I have lived here over 25 years. But I am sure Cynic knows much more than the rest of us… and will tell us over and over and over…

  • The Real HC

    He can’t, just ignore him.
