“BAIL EM OUT! ????

Hellooooo,
back in 1990, the Government
seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada
for tax evasion and,
as required by law, tried to run it.

They failed and it closed.

Now we are trusting the economy of our country
and our banking system
to the same nit-wits
who couldn’t make money
running a whore house and selling whiskey!”

Only in America!

So, what other spectacular failures of government run businesses should we be remembering?

  • CarolynKB

Only the government can make sex and whiskey unappealing. :-) And believing that story requires nothing but watching the crazies who run the looney bin throwing away money like a drunken sailor on leave.

My feelings about our current players is, who trusts anything that comes out of Washington? What we have currently is the same cast characters in different costumes.

    • andrew191

At least drunken sailors throw away their OWN MONEY.

  • HARP

Wait until Reid gets his “red light express” from Disney world to the Bunny ranch.

  • lark

what other spectacular failures of government run businesses should we be

If you want to know exactly what to expect now from Obama with respect to the economy of the U.S. you just have to listen to his answer to what was believed to be the last question at the press conference with Gordon Brown this morning.

We are talking about two men wanting to exert hegemony of the old fashion kind where the entire world will come under one economic world order, capitalism to be subsumed by SOCIALISM

    • Idiocracy08

      NWO – Obama style!
I don’t believe anything Obama says.

Until the day that he comes out and admits the history of his life is one big lie – then & only then MAYBE I’ll start believing his crap.

    Geithner: “these problems we inherited”

I don’t think that we inherited any problems although I agree that administrations have changed. Congress between 2006 to 2008 was a Democratic Congress not a Republican Congress. The Senate was mostly 50/50. The current financial condition is not one the Democratic Congress inherited. Period. It is a problem that rose under a Democratic Congress.

  • CarolynKB

    Lark:

No, no, you can’t pretend that the WORST PRESIDENT EVER, with 6 years in control of both houses, didn’t play a HUGE role in this fiscal debacle. You don’t have to hate GWB but you do HAVE to be intellectually honest about who and what brought us to the brink of DISASTER. Both parties put us here as did their ROMANCE with Wall Street and the ROBBER BARONS and Barack is getting ready to carry on the great tradition of screwing the American Economy and the American people for his own enrichment.

    • lark

Okay, I have written here numerously that it was Greenspan that talked both Bush and Clinton and both the Democratic and well as the Republican house his irresponsible as well as immoral economic structure that is what got us here. All stakeholders, Bush, Clinton, Democrats and Republicans as well as Wall Street, bankers and Realtors are to be blamed and all of them have profited handsomely in order to deplete the entire population of the U.S. of their retirement savings.

But it so happen that Democrats were the majority in Congress during the 2006/2008 session.

      • C.S.

And while the Democrats were in charge in 2006-2008 they repeatedly told us that there was nothing they could do to change anything. They even told us that they couldn’t impeach Bush even though their constitutes were very angry with them for taking impeachment “off the table” and ignoring their pledge to get us out of Iraq. That should have been the red flag that our elected government officials had no plans to change anything, which is probably why they worked so hard to keep Senator Clinton out of the White House because she would be coming in with a real change agenda they really didn’t want.

  • lark

Obama and Brown basically said during their conference that they were planning to take to the G7 conference a socialist and communist agenda that would integrate the banking system of all countries of the world, communist countries as well and socialist countries and obviously the agenda to turn the U.S.A. into a socialist or communist country, whichever ends out to be the case.

The banking system is to be bridled and muzzled and forced to serve the masses in a communistic way.

What I think? I think China’s banking system is going to be implemented and that the U.S. banking system will be forced to abide and transformed into a system that conforms with the banking system of communist countries.

Opportunity: To go to Cuba and learn about their banking system to get a head start into how to manage those sorts of banks.

Geithner keeps lying about the 95 pc. tax cut to Americans when everywhere State County and City governments are talking about raising taxes of all types, in addition to all the tax increases Obama has already proposed for home owners.

These people are unabashed pathological liars.

    • tango

And unbelieveable how many people think tax increases on those making over $200,000-250,000 will never affect them since they don’t make anywhere near that kind of money. They don’t put two and two togather and realize those business owners will pass their increased costs to consumers. They don’t realize those self employed professionals might choose to work less hours so to earn less than that “magic number”, making it longer for consumers to get a dentist, doctor or lawyer appointment. They don’t realize those people who are close to the salary cut off might start to do bartering so not to have higher taxable income. I know a dentist who exchanges dental services for restaurant gift certificates and credits at a local clothing boutique his wife likes. I know a manicurist who accepts babysitting from a few of her clients in lieu of cash payment. I know a hairstylist who only works a day or two at a salon each week (reportable income) but works 3 days at home for cash that is not being reported to the IRS as income. That is how citizens will get around paying taxes.

Obama and his buddies are the biggest ROBBER BARONS of all…if they succeed they will all be rich beyond belief or at least be able to live like they are on the backs of the rest of us.

Join the Tea Parties to be held April 15th or plan your own in your Community…the REVOLT IS ON!!!

  • CarolynKB

Don’t forget the name and the party of the PRETZLENUT who signed the TARP, George W. Bush, THE REPUGS ARE AS MUCH A PART OF THIS MONEY GRABS AS THE DIMS. No politician of either party deserves our trust at this point.

    • lark

The only politician that I trust is Sarah Palin and that is because when she was confronted with corruption as the director of the Alaskan Oil and Gas Commission she threatened to resigned from it and got all the corruption taken care off.

      • wodiej

        I’ll second that.

    • Idiocracy08

We haven’t forgotten Bush. I’ve been bitching about him for 8 years – when he was in office. (Actually more, cause I’m a Texan). I expect it from republican neo-cons.

But I’m more let down by the democrats because I really believed there was a difference between the two. I thought the dems would basically protect us as much as they could from the repubs. Maybe at one time that was true, but not the neo-libs of today. Pelosi is the prime example to me. Campaigned on getting rid of Bush/Cheney, then showed her true colors once elected.

They all make me sick. But don’t worry, I won’t ever forget Bush, Bush Sr, or Reagan. And I won’t forget Obama either. I’m not prejudice.

      • Idiocracy08

And I didn’t mean that as it sounds by using the word prejudice. I meant I wasn’t prejudiced against the repubs or dems – they both suck!

  • dnesser

I just don’t understand what Obama is trying to do. He says he’s trying to “Fix” the economy but everything he is doing is making it worse. He’s completely ignoring Wall Street. Who does he think is going to Hire the Unemployed? How is the Middle Class invester going to get their retirement back? He says he wants to help the Housing Market yet he wants to eliminate Mortgage interest write-off for families earning $250,000 a year. Who does he think is going to buy those expensive homes in the worse hit areas like California? He is NOT hurting the Rich. They can sock their money in Tax free bonds and forget about investing. He is wiping out the Middle Class. Why?

  • truthorconsequences

Wonder how many IRS agents applied for the [position of] Whore House Management?

  • lark

I have no idea why the stock market doesn’t tank totally when Obama and Brown just told them that banks will not be able to operate as profit making entities once they and the rest of the world leaders change the rules for them.

    • Idiocracy08

they know he’s lying – as always. they’re waiting for WORM.

  • r2d2

Let’s be fair. Not everything that the government has managed is a disaster. I know many don’t like the post office, but for the price, it can’t be beat. Yes, sometimes pieces of mail are mishandled, but for years I depended on the US Mail system to deliver my payments and it must have performed well because I don’t have an instance when my payment was late due to late or non-delivery. I can think of a few agencies that also do a good job. Clinton ran FEMA very well.

    • lark

Consider thou that the USPS have not had any major improvement or modal changes since I have known it. We are talking about a business that has been virtually static and provides virtually zero innovation.

In private hands and after all these years, I don’t know why the post office cannot deliver ice cream cones from McDonalds directly to places like schools and elderly care centers. Capisce?

    • C.S.

Well, aren’t you lucky. I love to tell the tale of a city utility payment that ended up being returned to me by an out of state investment firm that had received it and opened it by mistake. That excuse is less believable than “the check is in the mail” so I let the post office do the explaining. I’ve had other experiences but none to top this one.

  • lark

Now if the market would start considering Obama completely incompetent, maybe it can reach a bottom.

  • Tricia Spiegel

That is funny! I love Maxine!

Found your post so enjoyable I snagged it and sent it to Craigslist forum.

    Ultimate compliment.
