Let the Hiring Revolution Begin

It struck me the other day, that despite all the job loses that are taking place we seem to still have the same “bad actors” in all the same places that created and enabled this mess we’re in. So I wondered, if I could replace a whole group or industry of people, who would I replace. Where would I start. My nomination list had many worthy members, but in the end I picked Main Stream Media.

Why? Consider this:

“Promote then as an object of primary importance, Institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened.”

Then consider this:
Media tells stories THEY want to tell to people they don’t respect. And this, and this.

So if I could start a hiring revolution and bring in a whole industry’s worth of “new” journalists and media people, this would be my ad.

    I like your idea. Wish we could throw the whole lot out and start all over again. We need people with integrity. I am sick and tired of people like Chris Matthews, Olbermann, and Evans of Newsweek, with their slanted commentary. We sure could use another Walter Conkrite or Edward Murrow right now. Unfortunately, most Americans take at face value, what is reported on the evening news, cnn, csnbc. It’s just wrong, wrong, wrong.

    I would start with Stephanie Tubbs Jones, god rest her soul, but if I can’t have her I think Marcy Kaptur. Sarah Palin too, but too many yahoos would find something else to focus on and take away from her work.

    It’s a safe bet that 99.9% of the so called journalists on the airwaves and tv today don’t qualify under those requirements. I have completely stopped watching the tv newscasts, couldn’t belive a word these liars were saying…

    If you could start a hiring revolution, who would you be looking to hire and why?

    Unfortunately, both questions are really difficult to answer. The first because the list is so long that it’s hard to narrow down to just one group or industry.

    The second because my hiring revolution would leave a vast hole in the once-employed sector, and I’m not sure there are enough appropriately skilled people of integrity to fill the positions.
