Please read this article. It is interesting. It is about the two women in Obamas life. Kinda scary.

    • yttik

That article is really scary. Someone explained to me about having similar concerns about Obama because of his mother and his wife. I didn’t understand exactly what she was saying, but I do now.

  • Melanie

Susan, you’re bad, but in a good way. That site is a cesspoll.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

That got an out-loud giggle outta me. It’s fun to make fun of those bozo fools.

and YES YES YES to reading that Asia Times article above! It is utterly fascinating. Spot on.

      • Andy

        They write :

” His career bears no trace of his own character, not an article for the Harvard Law Review he edited, or a single piece of legislation. ”

Is this true? No piece of legislation? What do they mean something with his name? Thanks.

I read somewhere that he because editor of Harvard Law review as a “compromise candidate” between 2 others . Or something like it. I can’t rmember unfortunately where did I read this….

Then there are those mysterious years when he was at Columbia and that he won’t talk or write about those years.

As someone said here the other night, the GOP detective have already been in NYC and have got that covered.

If he’s the nominee, it’s going to be a fascinating but very bloody daily pile-up. Axelrod can only spin in circles so fast. And I bet he’s recycled all of his former clients’ lines.

          • Andy

Gosh…what will we do if he is the nominee…??

(PS:wrote so fast my previous post that almost incomprehensible, full of mistakes..sorry).

The Clinton camp in bed with Drudge.

No wonder they dumped the stupid photo there.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/oct/23/usa.hillaryclinton1

Hillary Clinton woos man who nearly ruined her husband
    ·

A decade ago, the internet journalist Matt Drudge was very nearly Bill Clinton’s ruin, after leaking the story of his affair with Monica Lewinsky. These days, Drudge is one of Hillary Clinton’s best kept secrets.
During the presidential campaign, the Drudge Report, once known as the scourge of Democrats, has betrayed a surprisingly soft side for the woman previously viewed by diehard Republicans as the mother of all that is liberal and permissive in America. When Ms Clinton had a coughing fit during a speech in New Orleans last summer, Drudge reacted with genuine concern, telling listeners to his Miami radio show: “Hillary dear, take care of yourself. We need you,” according to New York magazine.

On another occasion, he confessed: “I need Hillary Clinton. I need to be part of her world. That’s my bank.”

Yesterday, it emerged that the caring went two ways. The New York Times reported that the Clinton campaign had grown adept at using the Drudge Report to leak news that could steal the thunder from rivals, or to solidify her position as the frontrunner for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination for next year.

Earlier this month, Ms Clinton’s staff leaked campaign fundraising data to the website just as her rival for the nomination, Barack Obama, was to deliver a policy speech on Iraq – and a crucial 20 minutes before the official release of the information. The story on Ms Clinton’s fundraising prowess dominated the news cycle.

The New York Times reported that the Clinton campaign had opened a direct line of communication to Drudge through a former Democratic national committee official, Tracy Sefl. Ms Sefl refused to comment yesterday, but the revelation was widely seen as a sign of Drudge’s importance in the US media, despite his reclusive nature and a history of getting some stories spectacularly wrong.

    • chris

“The Clinton camp in bed with Drudge.”

Some people will grasp at anything to support their biases.

For instance, the RightWing radio today was saying, “Its obvious Clinton is behind it because she couldn’t deny her campaign was behind it.”

This is bullshit thinking. If I had a staff of 700 folks, and you put a camera in front of me and asked if 1 person did something, I’d be a fool to say, “No, they didn’t.” What time would I have had to verify the story, reach a denial, etc.

Clinton, Wolfson, and others who spoke today kept a distance because they know what Obama can’t seem to get, that followers do all sorts of shit. It would be a larger embarrasment to say, “No” and then have it sourced to a weak link in your campaign. Then they really Gotcha.

This is Gotcha politics in action, Gotcha ‘journalism’ and the campaign I hold responsible…(drum roll)…Obama. I knew you thought I’d say something else, didn’cha.

Well, its because as they are ought to do as a naive batch, the solidly concluded it was the Republicans. Care to wager a Chicago house with a yard on the side that went for some lofty dollars?

The bigger problem is that the masses have short term memory and never revisit facts to have an accurate reflection. A meme lobs, it remains in play for a day, then becomes the accepted truth.

The TV shows are all concluding it came from the Clinton campaign, and that is pretty much libel ultimately.

      • Cee

Some people will grasp at anything to support their biases.

        Chris,

Yes, the Clinton camp has done this. I understand that the clothing was Kenyan and they sent out Willams and Tubbs-Jones to say it was Somali dress. Get it? Somali terrorists?
        Now she’s really desperate.

She should have listened to Wolfson long ago.

Clinton’s communications director, Howard Wolfson, said back in July of 2007

And, with all due respect, if you want to talk about tactical political maneuvering, it’s about one Democrat comparing another Democrat to George Bush. That’s the worst kind of tactical political maneuvering.

          Some English wank made up:
“Clinton cried on national television because she lost to Obama ”

You know, it is really frustrating enough to deal with people who disagree with you and can’t budge, but people who either make shit up, or fall for false information without critical thought are sometimes maddening.

Perhaps they are intentionally maddening. But often enough its because they are intellectually and morally lazy.

I had a guy this weekend debate me on all sorts of Obama crap, and in the end of an hour he finally fell apart after not being able to come up with any support for all this great concept he’d developed…from listening to the radio about it all. FROM THE RADIO in Houston, AM Talk Radio. Good Lord!

“Wrong man, Obama has a lot more experience, dude.”

          “In What?”

          “In the US Senate”

“You mean, combined State Senate and US Senate? don’t you”

“No, in the US Senate alone.”

          “When was he elected then?”

“well he voted against Iraq at least. And she voted for Iraq”

          “You’re on crack.”

And it went on and on. Then one of his supporter friends said, “no, he is still in his first term in the US Senate.”

          or even better was.

“But Obama doesn’t have all the corporations behind him like Hillary Clinton. She’s trying to buy her way into the White House.”

I almost passed out by having the Oxygen sucked out of the room by this idiot who was just stupid and hateful to Hillary Clinton.

In the end, he got really frustrated because not only was I much more informed, including bill numbers, who was in Senate for Illinois during NAFTA vote, etc, but his buddy Obama supporter even was finally having to discount all his comments because they were so bullshit.

          So he pops off:
“Well fuck you dude, I’ve got a full time job so I don’t have time to spend on the internet looking all this up like you. You’re just wrong.”

          The Classics, dem never die

          • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

That is priceless. I may steal this for the next Open Thread.

Yup, the Democrats never let facts get in the way.

Sometimes, often in fact, they act like a bunch of asses.

  • rwc

Remember the same MSM that is vilifying Hillary is the same one that cheer leaded the U.S. into war with Iraq, its reporters were nothing but stenographers, opposing voices were silenced, even newspapers like the supposed liberal bastion the NYT became nothing put a White House press organ with Judith Miller being the chief liar and propagandist.

And it was no different to lead up to Desert Storm. Remember the story about Iraqi soldiers bayoneting Kuwaiti babies in incubators that got nationwide attention? Well it was a fabrication by the Hill&Knowlton PR firm that the press ran with and Congress ate up.

Did the press ever tell us that the witness to these supposed atrocities was the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador who wasn’t even in Kuwait? no.

The press is not a friend of working men and women of this country no matter how you slice it.

    • chris

“The press is not a friend of working men and women of this country no matter how you slice it.”

I get your drift, but this is a bit of a sweeping comment…cuz if this were true, how would you be informed enough to know that a PR firm was behind the babies in incubators?

We should make distinctions and focus on the bad apples. Hold their feet to the fire.

For Instance: I dig Keith Olbermann….mostly. But he has really been buying into some stupid shit lately and its pissing me off. So I call them and challenge their account and their hasty conclusions. Though I get riled up in a good way when he Bashes Bush, I don’t like the assumptive candidate bullshit because this ain’t over.

And for that Matter…Jonathan Alter can go fuck himself, the little twit. I haven’t even voted in Texas, and Ohio hasn’t voted yet, and he is saying Clinton should go ahead and drop out for the good of the Party.

Where does this sour grapes bullshit come from? Who the fuck is Jonathan Alter, Ed Shultz, or anyone else who does this think they are? They don’t have the nomination wrapped up. And we are just now seeing the Obamagleen wear off now. I want to shove that crow down his throat and take wagers on how long it will be before he passes out on his own bullshit.

Call these guys on their shit. Give’em hell. Chew CNN’s ass when they play the game that way with David Gergen, and their stupid experts like Jeffrey Toobin, a classic blowhard. Or pop the shit out of that Ron Christie when he spews his talking points and yet they keep inviting him back on the show.

But…the press…lol, sorry got a rant there….is not a monolith anymore than the CIA is. Make distinctions please.

      • kenoshaMarge

Tell ALL the damn pundits who tell ANY candidate to step aside before voters have a chance to do their thing; like, ya know, vote to STFU. I am so damn sick and tired of all these pundidiots and their drivel.

Also tired of seemingly endless polls. Here too, can’t they just allow us to vote for our candidate? Leave the damn clairvoyance to the physics. Is Patricia Arquette available?

      • John

Add Richard Cohen, Dana Milbank, George Will, and Robert Novak to your list of media people trying to tell us what to do- specifically, telling Hillary to get out of the race like YESTERDAY.

Cohen’s Op-Ed in the Washington Post today was so obnoxious- “she came to New York in the manner of Marie Antoinette, waiting to be crowned…she got only 55% of the vote against Rick Lazio, and only 67% against ‘nobody’ John Spencer.. the more she campaigns, the less people like her….” I had to rip off a reply letter. I’ll let you know if the Post prints it.

And Milbank is back with his weekly Anti-Hillary snark in the Style section. This is just sickening. We live in a Media-ocracy (Mediocracy? Actually fits pretty well…) not a Democracy. The media isn’t satisfied telling us what to buy, read, or eat. Now it’s telling us, on a daily basis, who is worthy of our vote for President, and more emphatically who is NOT. I wish all these people would buy a clue, or at least take a trip together on the same bus with bad brakes.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

      Nail, meet hammer.

  • ChrisXP

Want funny? Was accused yesterday by an Obama nut at Politico of being an Hillary aide. Ah, don’t believe I’ll fit in on the Dem campaign side, being a Moderate Traditional conservative. lololol

But I want a fellow sister to break the highest glass ceiling. So will help Hillary get there, even if ideologically we’re different. If we don’t stand together, it’ll be the 22nd century before a woman president is possible.

A card-carrying ERA supporter (we’re not all cave women on the Right, guys). ;)

    • kenoshaMarge

I’ve been carrying that ERA torch for a whole lot of years kiddo. With 7 granddaughters I had hoped that they would not have to fight the same old fights. See, hope isn’t enough now is it?

Given that women didn’t even get to vote in this country until 1920 and given that even in the enlightened day and age (yes that was meant as sarcasm) there are 435 members of the House of Representatives of which only a paltry 74 are women. There are 100 Senators, with only 16 of them being women. (Here’s a link if you want to see a photo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Female_senators.jpg) So I guess I am not now and haven’t been all that hopeful that a woman could be elected in this still male dominated and misogynistic country.

I guess my point is that if we only have that kind of pitiful percentage in the House and the Senate what hope do we have to break that ultimate ceiling? If someone sees a better or more hopeful future for my granddaughters please tell me. Because it sure looks to me as if this presidential election is a microcosm of every little office I ever worked in for over 40 years. Well qualified and competent woman passes over for smooth talking younger man with out her qualifications but better qualified by gender.

      • ChrisXP

It took women in the Western world thousands of years to get this far, and most rights were won last century. We came so close in 1973, to ratify the ERA, too.

I have faith that with the ultimate glass ceiling broken through, the old stereotypes and mindset will also shatter. Not overnight, but over time as our brothers see us not as just objects for gratification, but as equals with minds AND BODIES of our own.

When I was still in high school, I remember when Sally Ride became the first female US astronaut, on her first flight. My dad, who understood I r-e-a-l-l-y wanted to be an astronomer, was at the Cape, and came back with her NASA shuttle patch to inspire me. I didn’t get to the stars, but I know there’s stars on Earth, and they’ll be the women who ***will*** break the barriers you, I and millions of other women face today.

Never, ever lose faith that the ERA won’t become reality. As long as women reach for the stars, it ***will*** be ratified.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

I’m an operative for her campaign! Bet you can’t top that.

(The general, if things continue the way they are now, will be fascinating to watch — from afar.)

  • Ned Bulous

    HAHAHAHA! VERY funny!

If you think a fictional story mocking Obama this way is hilarious, then no doubt fictional Rove/Bush mocking Hillary for her lesbianism, ties to questionable fundraisers, her husband’s serial affairs, etc will ALSO have you ROARING with LAUGHTER!

The Clinton’s are candidates of substance, most of it DRIED ON THEIR CLOTHING! HAHAHAHA! I’m glad we can all laugh at these childish jokes! Hey, after the way she’s behaved, I can understand why her husband has interns! HAHAHAHA!

Other than her questionable judgement, lack of foresight, poorly run campaign, duplicity, pandering, undignified temperament, etc, etc- she would be an EXCELLENT President!

Me, I’m for the Obama, after all- he will crack heaven open as celestial choirs sing and we will all know the right thing to do!!! If this is how she treats political friends whom she’s ‘honored’ to run against, I wonder what sort of respect she would give to GOP legislators if she were to be President?

    • ChrisXP

      What’s sad? I don’t think he’s a kid. :x

      • kenoshaMarge

I don’t know what his age is but suspect it’s in double digits like his I.Q. Or maybe, let me do my Bill Frist impersonation, he’s nuts!

  • Ned Bulous

Actually, I don’t think that ‘SusanUnPC’ is a kid! Nor do I believe that HER IQ is in the double-digits.

It’s funny, but it seems that so many Clinton supporters are SO ANGRY! It also seems that the thing they like most about her is her gender. . . Now, don’t get me wrong-I would LOVE for there to be a female President, but that’s not the biggest qualification in my eyes. Just like it would be great to have a black President, an Asian President, an atheist President, etc, etc.

Obama is more progressive and more in line with my views (remember, Clinton not only voted for the IWR, but also Kly-Lieberman, and voted AGAINST banning cluster bombs?!?!?- Obama voted to ban them) He is also more likely to get elected and to actually GET THINGS DONE!

If Hillary can’t beat Obama in the primary (hint- it’s not her gender that hampers her. Look at the number of African Americans in the Senate. . . there is ONE (Obama)!!!), how in the hell is she going to beat McCain on ‘experience’?!?!?

  • Independent

If Obama is such a terrorist/rube and the People are being “duped” by his message why are people in Government that are such close friends of Hillary supporting Him. Chris Dodd being the latest. Believe me, Obama is no total savior to me, he thinks a lot of things I don’t agree with but he is not near as divisive as Hillary would be as President. The repubicans would be doing nothing but trying to impeach her from day one. I for one don’t want to have to go through four years of that crap again. It’s time to go Forward.

    • Ned Bulous

EXACTLY! I don’t want the mirror opposite of Bush, I want politics that brings us together.

Some Clinton supporters might not have liked Obama invoking Reagan’s name, but Reagan was able to get things done because of the goodwill of ‘Reagan Democrats’ I already know FIVE ‘Obamacans’ personally- NONE of them would vote for Clinton. She is TOO divisive and her behavior during this campaign demonstrates why!

I used to think that she should run for majority leader in the Senate if she didn’t get the nod, or be appointed to the Supreme Court, or head the State Dept, etc, etc. . .

But now I just wish she would disappear (after her sarcastic mockery of Obama, whom she had just said she was ‘honored’ to be with!)

      • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

“I want politics that brings us together.”

        Ahhhhhhhh. Dat’s so sweet.

Get some Prilosec. When you start upchucking the Kool-Aid mixed with bile, it’s going to hurt like hell.

        • Ned Bulous

          >>When you start upchucking the Kool-Aid mixed with bile, it’s going to hurt like hell.

You must know from experience! The rabid, hate-mongering Clinton lovers seem to still be drinking the “they can do no wrong” kool-aid that they were so fond of during the 90s.

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt, though, and assume that maybe it’s not a ‘Cult of Clinton’, but her issues that you believe in (like IWR, Kly-Lieberman, Exceptions for Torture, Cluster bombs, lobbyists, flag-burning laws, etc). These are precisely the issues, though, that I disagree with.

          • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Gee, Gen. Taguba — who investigated Abu Ghraib and was summarily punished by Donald Rumsfeld for so doing — yesterday endorsed Sen. Clinton because he knows that she will stand solidly against torture.

(It’s in the update to my story about her foreign policy speech. Reading comprehension IS your friend.)

            • Simon

“Neb” has a very small penis, he’s also highly insecure about his looks, marginal skills and inferior intellect.

Apparently, the Obama supporter skill set as
he’s been dazzling NQ all day, both with one syllable words, and three construct sentences.

NEB is hoping someday he can grasp the idea of concept, and move up to the four construct paragraph, landing a job with Salon, so he too, can pander, in an attempt to win Obama’s love, or barring that, a cabinet appointment as undersecretary of something.

Republican/Obama trolls only want to be loved.

Clinton is the divisive candidat? Not Mr. “Periodically when she’s feeling Loooooow”?

        Ahahahahahaha! Ahahahahahaha!

My goodness, I never knew that Jonestown could be such a part of politics!

        • Ned Bulous

Look at her negatives versus his. Talk to your Republican friends and see who they like more.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to- was it the “claws come out” comment? Some saw that as sexist, some did not. But the Clintons race-baiting lost them FAR MORE African American voters than the Obama comment lost him women voters (in fact, he’s almost even with white women voters now!)

She should have left with her dignity intact. I wanted her to be appointed to the Supreme Court, or run for Senate Majority Leader, or run the State Dept. But now I want her to slither away like the snake she has become.

          • kenoshaMarge

Slither away like the snake she’s become.

And you have the sheer hypocrisy to accuse other’s of hate? Out of your own mouth you are condemned. Yet again.

I don’t like Obama and will not vote for Obama but I would never have the poor taste or judgement to suggest he slither away.

Actually I think that ALL the people should have a chance to vote. It’s called, let’s see, that would be Democracy. But then you want her to quit, because you want her to quit. And now you’re going to stomp your feet and refuse to give her the consolation prize of the Supreme Court or Majority Leader.

Sorry pal, I don’t think YOU get to make those decisions. Whatever your delusions may tell you.
