From A Reader + a Writer

Susan’s Note: The writer’s contribution is below the fold, and fits to a tee with my story yesterday, “The Skill Set of ‘The One’,” because she points out a skill that Obama has that I completely forgot about: He can read teleprompters!

He’s the veritable Teleprompter Guy. So much so that, writes Politico.com, “Obama has relied on a teleprompter through even the shortest announcements and when repeating the same lines on his economic stimulus plan that he’s been saying for months.”

HOW SCARY IS THAT? Why can’t he think and speak on his own two feet??? Okay … now we begin with our reader’s comments:

FROM A SAVVY READER: The stock market is down again over 200 points and is still in a free fall since the SOB came into office; he is having healthcare policy meetings instead of economic advisory meetings to fix this NOW; GM is about to go Chapter 11; Citicorp is worth less than $1 per share; and the FDIC is almost insolvent. But there is Obama and his wife entertaining people with in house concerts by Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind, and Fire while the entire country collapses around him!

Let me provide an image and a metaphor that you can use:

“Obama fiddled while Wall Street (or the U.S.) burned.”

Based on the old adage that “Nero fiddled while Rome burned.” Most people don’t know that the “fiddled” was a double entrendre meaning that Nero fiddled (screwed up, fooled around) as well as the musical instrument.

In Obama’s case you also have the same double entendre except instead of playing a fiddle you can use the visual of Obama dancing to Earth Wind and Fire in the White House.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Writer pm317 sent our writers’ list this great article about that THIRD skill that Obama possesses — besides holding campaign rallies and schmoozing! (I offer my apologies to President Obama for failing to note this skill.)

Writes pm317 in her e-mail to us writers:

0bama is a nobody without his teleprompter. The fools in the media are talking about it now. We have commented, written posts about this since the beginning of the primary campaign and now these fools want to talk about this. This issue always makes me angry because it is the first sign of his incompetence in both his oratory and intellect. {I would write but don’t have time.)”

Now, from Politico.com (late to the party, but, sigh, it is progress):

The textbook-sized panes of glass holding the president’s prepared remarks follow him wherever he speaks.

The textbook-sized panes of glass holding the president’s prepared remarks follow him wherever he speaks.

Obama’s safety net: the TelePrompter

President Barack Obama doesn’t go anywhere without his TelePrompter.

The textbook-sized panes of glass holding the president’s prepared remarks follow him wherever he speaks.

Resting on top of a tall, narrow pole, they flank his podium during speeches in the White House’s stately parlors. They stood next to him on the floor of a manufacturing plant in Indiana as he pitched his economic stimulus plan. They traveled to the Department of Transportation this week and were in the Capitol Rotunda last month when he paid tribute to Abraham Lincoln in six-minute prepared remarks.

Obama’s reliance on the teleprompter is unusual — not only because he is famous for his oratory, but because no other president has used one so consistently and at so many events, large and small.

After the teleprompter malfunctioned a few times last summer and Obama delivered some less-than-soaring speeches, reports surfaced that he was training to wean himself off of the device while on vacation in Hawaii. But no such luck.

His use of the teleprompter makes work tricky for the television crews and photographers trying to capture an image of the president announcing a new Cabinet secretary or housing plan without a pane of glass blocking his face. And it is a startling sight to see such sleek, modern technology set against the mahogany doors and Bohemian crystal chandeliers in the East Room or the marble columns of the Grand Foyer.

“It’s just something presidents haven’t done,” said Martha Joynt Kumar, a presidential historian who has held court in the White House since December 1975. “It’s jarring to the eye. In a way, it stands in the middle between the audience and the president because his eye is on the teleprompter.”

Just how much of a crutch the teleprompter has become for Obama was on sharp display during his latest commerce secretary announcement. The president spoke from a teleprompter in the ornate Indian Treaty Room for a few minutes. Then Gov. Gary Locke stepped to the podium and pulled out a piece of paper for reference.

The president’s teleprompter also elicited some uncomfortable laughter after he announced Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as his choice for Health and Human Services secretary. “Kathy,” Obama said, turning the podium over to Sebelius, who waited at the microphone for an awkward few seconds while the teleprompters were lowered to the floor and the television cameras rolled.

Obama has relied on a teleprompter through even the shortest announcements and when repeating the same lines on his economic stimulus plan that he’s been saying for months — whereas past presidents have mostly worked off of notes on the podium except during major speeches, such as the State of the Union.

YOUR TURN! NOW BE NICE!!!

I read this story earlier. It makes me wonder about who wrote his books and the speech years ago at the DNC convention. I thought someone was working on making textual comparisons like they did in exposing the author of Primary Colors. And has anyone seen any other of his scholarly writings yet?

But I’m not surprised. He is just a prop the DNC brought in to keep Hillary from the nomination. Cynical, but it worked as black voters flocked to vote for someone of their own color, thinking that would make everything better and erase all the hurts and abuses of the past. That’s the saddest part of this – the deception and dishonor he and Michelle will bring to their own people. The snub of Gordon Brown is very revealing about Obama’s immaturity.

  • Strawberry

BE NICE???!!! YEAH, I’ll be nice. The douchebag media is now beginning to see this..NOW? They all need to be rounded up and forced to get Brazillian waxes with Gorilla Glue. This scares the crap out of me. How can someone this mediocre become president? I’m just gobbsmacked.

  • OxyCon

I have a better metaphor, if you will:

“Obama dribbled while Wall Street burned”, being that he’s either playing pick-up basketball games or attending NBA games these days.

As for Obam-uh’s teleprompter, he should really fire the guy who keeps programming them with all those “uh’s”

  • Moss’s Soup Kitchen

Have you ever shook your head in disbelief and bewilderment and just wished that people had listened to you.
Obama is destroying the wealth of each and every person in this country.
Regardless of the consequences Obama and his minions have declared war on the existing economy and we are seeing it vanish right before our very eyes.
Having put the American people in poverty, I wonder how the democrats expect to stay in power past next year.

A new video coming out March 15th “The Obama Deception”, I’ve called several video stores to see if they’ll be getting this in but so far can’t find one, geez does that surprize me? Guess I’ll have to order it online. But this will be a must see for those that want to hear the truth for a change. Alex Jones pulls no punches when it comes to telling it like it is with corruption in our government.

Hard to be nice, Susan. We’ve been duped, bamboozled and cheated [again] with a rudderless, make-believe leader. BTW, by “we” I’m talking about those who voted for this ever-exposed farce of a POTUS.

When will the masses catch on, those who swooned at the elevated language [though I never heard it], fell for the pie in the sky promises, and bought into that inexperience is somehow a virtue?

Certainly, “not” through the MSM, which is still in cheerleading mode [with a few exceptions].

If we, the public at large, wants a sample of what inexperienced and flailing looks, sounds like, we need go no further than Gibbs, Press Secretary, the President’s mouthpiece, who is God-awful, always late, and utterly vague. Like his master. Kind of reminds me of Evan Thomas and his repeated, “I don’t knows” from an earlier interview.

This POTUS was marketed, packaged as the “real deal.” Like reality TV, there’s nothing “real” about him, except the agenda of Left Wingers, who seemingly are digging the country’s grave.

But the kool-aide crowd better never complain. Because we warned you, again and again.

    Fools! Absolute fools.

Obama is also using an IFB..in his last press conference ..when he was being asked questions by the media..he would hesitate for a long few moments and he was looking down..seriously looking down..he was listening to what he was being told his answers were to be…in his ear…I watched it screaming that ..he is using the IFB..my husband looked and said sure enough..he sure as hell is..

I know this because in my husbands business he uses an IFB all the time.

I have not one doubt he was using an IFB.

he should be good at reading a teleprompter, that is all he has EVER done. his life has been a campaign.

    and this line!!:

“Obama’s reliance on the teleprompter is unusual — not only because he is famous for his oratory, but because no other president has used one so consistently and at so many events, large and small.”

He is famous for his oratory because people mistook the ability to read a teleprompter for actual skill, experience, character and oratory.

He READ other peoples words, off a telempropter.

    It’s like political karaoke.

You think fox news would have showed him with his teleprompter every single time they showed his picture. I think fox news blew it big time in this election. Not that I ever watched them, but they didn’t keep the consistent message of incompetince for months on end, every minute of every day.

  • Ferd Berfle

I’ve been saying for months now that our ill-prepared, insipid, and uninspired That One has a singular incapacity for thinking on his feet while attempting to put together a string of coherent words. When a little, tiny man like Oblahblah, who couldn’t fill up a good-sized chair, especially the one in the oval office, can’t read the words off a teleprompter without the usual ers, ahs, an uhs-type stammering, then either those who are enamored of his speaking ability are off their nut or our system of education has not only failed, but is in its last throes, dying a miserable and quite deserved death. He’s nothing more than a cheap rap artist with a somewhat larger audience and a really fancy house.

  • (trying to get over it)

at least he gave up his binky addiction before the election!

    pathetic

  • Ferd Berfle

For someone like Oblahblah it isn’t the words that matter as much as how they sound when strung together and how big a crowbar he has to use to fracture it into submission to his own definitions. His knowledge of the language is only marginally better than his knowledge of the Constitution, which ain’t much, by the way. My daughter at the age of 12 had a better command of the English language than That One.

  • heather

Jack Cashill has a website where he talks about it. He seems pretty convinced, and he’s pretty convincing in his comparison, but I think this falls under the heading of “You can never prove it unless someone who was there turns out to have a grudge”.

Thank you Susan! To me this one thing says everything I want to know about him TO ASSESS him. Oratory, my foot — some one else writes his speeches and loads them up, and he reads the teleprompter. May be with Wright’s help he has worked on the delivery, and even that is not what it is cracked up to be.

From page 2 of the article:

“He uses them to death,” a television crewmember who also covered the White House under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush said of the teleprompter. “The problem is, he never looks at you. He’s looking left, right, left, right — not at the camera. It’s almost like he’s not making eye contact with the American people.”

Class, what have we called this?

My brother has been a Republican for years, but voted this year for Obama. I guess it’s somewhat my fault because I didn’t include him on my daily e-mail of irony that I sent out to the rest of the people I know. Anyway, he’s starting to feel like a fool. HE’S the guy Obama is after — highly paid executive in a large, multi-national corporation. I actually blame it on his wife. She’s kinda Oprah/The Secret/New Agey, and I think these folks were the first to kool-aid fountain. Oprah has been priming them for four years.

Well, the Obummers are going to Europe..hehehe.

President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama will head to Europe at the end of the month, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced Thursday.

The first couple will visit the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and the Czech Republic on a trip from March 31 to April 5.

The president will visit Europe to attend the G-20 economic summit as well as a NATO event, Gibbs said.

And we all know how respectful the European press is of people in office, now don’t we? This is going to be a real trip, and I don’t mean the traveling kind. I can’t wait for the Euro press’ take on President Teleprompter. These are people who are used to real orators, not fake ones. Imagine the people who watched and heard Winston Churchill speak, with notes that listed the points he wanted to make, watch this wannabe with his techno-babble machine. They will shred him, totally shred him. Especially when he starts with the uhs and ums when asked a question without his crutch at hand. They will realize in an instant exactly what he is and they will say it, loud and clear. I am really looking forward to this trip. Especially the reaction of the French fashion press to Meechelle’s “fashion sense”. It’s going to be brutal, and I am going to love every minute of it.

Here’s the thing about Nero and Rome burning
(and the fire destroyed a majority of Rome). There is a feeling among some historians (Tacitus being one, though the account is disputed by others) that Nero actually started the fire because he wanted to clear away a large area to build his new vision of Rome since the Senate had denied his early request to start a massive rebuilding project. In actuallity, the new Rome which was later built was much better than the old Rome.

But if we’re going to use this analogy, I think this theory of Nero’s starting the fire works well with O’s seeming attempt to totally redo our government.

Your article adds more anecdotal evidence that Obama is a fraud and con man. How can anyone rate BO as a great speaker when he needs a teleprompter to deliver every speech or introduction? The WH reporters are missing the main story- The Obama/Bernie Madoff Presidency.

The country is still in shock over the stimulus bill and OIAF wants to reform health care now! There is method to Obama’s madness and it is to destroy capitalism. Jim Cramer, Santelli, Wall Street executives, and others are echoing the fears of the country.

He and Meechele are going to Europe soon. That will be a hoot and a half. We all know how respectful the Euro press is of office holders, don’t we? Imagine their take on an “orator” who can’t give a speech or a press conference without a teleprompter. They are going to laugh him right off the continent. And just think of the French fashion press comparing Carla Bruni with Meechelle. It’s going to be fun, really fun, to watch. He is going for the G-20 and a NATO event. Bet he wishes he had held more meetings of that committee he chaired on NATO. I wonder what the Europeans are going to think of the US now, since we elected two idiots in a row to run the country. I can guess, and it isn’t pretty.

    The PUPPET PRESIDENT:
It appears that our country is being lead by “Mortimer Snerd“. Mortimer was/is a wooden puppet who required a ventriloquist/s to articulate his every word and superficial viewpoint as to the shtick of the moment.

Per the article referenced below, Barack “Mortimer Snerd” Obama has quite effectively deceived “We The People”. He, “The One”, with the golden, mellifluous voice CAN ONLY READ! His purported brilliance is a total CON. He has ZERO intellectual inventory regarding America’s issues. When he is questioned, post his scripted bully pulpit bull; he embarrassingly stutters, stammers, utilizes hesitation-type colloquialisms (errr, aaah, whaooo, etc.) and subsequently replies w/nonsensical drivel.

He, “The One”, apparently requires a teleprompter for absolutely everything. He, the brilliant one, cannot think on his feet, OR, just does not have command of the diverse issues that currently plague this country.

So my question is: who are the ventriloquists and/or the puppet-masters?????? Who is really leading this country???? This is frightening since it certainly IS NOT the Teleprompter-Reader-in-Chief.

The 2-13-09 dreaded press conference proved his incompetence as to the following Q & A w/the journalist: Please refer to a provocative article written under the auspice of “The American Spectator” by “The Prowler” on 2-16-09 @ 6:09 AM. The article is called “SCREENING OBAMA”, it is unbelievable. Go to: http://spectator.org/rchives/2009/02/16in-all-fairness.

This article implies that a special screen is going to be installed in “BO’s” podiums so that he can be fed statistics and information, per any questions asked by the press, in an endeavor to help him sound more intellectually astute regarding America’s challenging concerns. This screen is a new Presidential amenity. No other President needed this prompt!

Did he have a teleprompter during his lecturer days at UC in his classrooms? The way he speaks impromptu may be the students disappeared quickly and he didn’t have to teach. I teach at grad and undergrad level and I don’t claim to be an expert public speaker but I know that you have to master the art of thinking on your feet (to answer all those pesky student questions :) ), being knowledgeable about a lot of things and be the expert in your specialized area. This guy exhibits none of those. Something is very odd.

Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 02:07 PM by Ferd Berfle
A switch from Clinton to McCain is absurd – politically, ideologically, rationally.

IF McCain is an option for you:

    - You are the same sociopathic Ideologue that still supports Bush/Cheney
    - You are Irrational
    - You are probably an Authoritarian as described here: http://home.cc.umanitoba.ca/~altemey /
    - You probably saw through Hillary’s “democratic” disguise to her DLC Republican-lite core – and liked what you saw.
    - You are willfully ignorant – “What’s the matter with Kansas?”
    - You are capable of ignoring, or approved of, Hillary’s Rovian tactics and her Faustian deals with Murdock and Mellon Scaife
    - You like triangulation, distortions and attempts to change the rules when you can’ win buy the one you agreed to.

Hillary supporters that are actually Democrats and hold to Democratic ideals will vote for and support Obama just as Obama supporters would have done for Hillary if the situation was reversed.

I pointed that out to my son the other night. Regardless of what you think about Bush, at least when he spoke it was directed at the camera that was our eyes. I’ve never seen one of Obama’s speeches in person (I don’t want to get ill) so I’m sure how or if he actually makes eye contact with the individuals that he is addressing. But with all of his scripted, teleprompted performances, he never looks into the camera that serves as our eyes, he almost looks as though he’s talking to himself, and is in ecstasy with what he hears.

  • tango

I wonder if the Browns will welcome the Obamas with a better reception then they recently got? Maybe they can send the Obamas home with a collection of 45 movie DVDS too as a symbol of how important America is to them.

Also, keep in mind. Obama doesn’t take questions from the foreign press so don’t be expecting him to do any real lengthy press conferences.

There has to be a way to trip him up here. All you techies out there, isn’t there a way to remotely speed up or slow down the words on the teleprompter? I really think he is leaving himself wide open to someone messing this up. It would be verrrrry interesting to watch. LOL.

This must be the reason PBO looks like a broken lighthouse when he speaks; I always found the constant swinging of his head back and forth very strange and disconnected.

  • Magic Puzzle Box

Primary Colors? I didn’t hear about that one, but I did see American Thinker did a series comparing Ayers’ Fugitive Days to Obama’s Dreams and Audacity books. Some of the examples were pretty condemning, though not all. Earlier this year, the Wall Street Journal had an article about how JFK I think it was won a prize for his book, but in actual fact he hadn’t written it at all but had teams of writers compile it. So it’s not far-fetched at all to think it was ghost-written here, especially since Obama reportedly only ever published a few very lame poems – see the New York Times for those. I know from my creative writing days that one doesn’t get a good literary style and a definitive voice without lots and lots and lots of practice writing, yet this guy has magically managed to do it overnight. Smells fishy to me. The teleprompter kind of supports that on some level as well.

  • Ferd Berfle

A low-tech and immediate solution would be for some wag to pull the plug on his Prophet, Mr. Teleprompter. The hilarity would certainly ensue as the ubbas, bahs, ums, and ers come out of That One’s mouth rat-a-tat-a-tat.

  • Magic Puzzle Box

But that isn’t all. Besides the Brown snub, Obama sent back the bust of Winston Churchill in the White House, which caused a minor diplomatic meltdown in Britain. And he’s not so scared of the foreign press to talk to do the Middle Eastern interview or send his lackeys to Durbin II prep conferences where the Muslims gather to condemn Israel and cry about all the Islamophobia in the world. Notice any kind of pattern here?

I tried to post this a minute ago but it disappeared. Besides the Brown snub, did you see Obama caused a minor diplomatic meltdown when he returned the bust of Winston Churchill? As for fear of the foreign press, he had no trouble doing the Middle East interview or send his lackeys to Durbin II prep conferences. Notice a pattern here?

I am waiting for that day with bated breath!

  • pm317

The article says he had one set up at a Rodeo during the campaign!! That is a riot.

  • Ferd Berfle

He thought he was calling a square dance.

  • pm317

Here is something else to think about (that I have wondered about). Most writers are good story tellers. That is how they are able to pen those stories embellished in all interesting ways. This guy claims he is a writer and people say he has written beautifully in those two (only two) books. If the writer is shy and an introvert, you can excuse their public expression of story telling. But this guy is not an introvert and loves to hear himself talk. So why can’t he engage a crowd with simple lines and ad lib if he forgets the script? Why does he have to read them off a teleprompter — we know he reads them because he can hardly peel his eyes away from the teleprompter.

  • Evolve and Learn

2010 will be the final determination of whether America shifts completely to European or just plain socialist. We need balance not a one party system. 2010.

  • Ferd Berfle

Well, my opinion is that his entire life is one big story. Those book of his are better placed in the fiction category or perhaps self-romance. Yuck.

  • pm317

If it is limited to just the teleprompters (and the media acking it), I would agree with you. But it is way more than that, isn’t it? he is not good at debates; he is not good at press conferences; he is not good at one on one interviews (except when it is all soft ball questions).

  • TeakwoodKite

BO thinks he’s such a Pinball Wizard, but he is just fiddles about.

Thanks Pm317 and SusanUnpc (I had to read that from the telepromter)

Where’s the “crazy uncle” when you need him… and I not talking about Fester either.

  • pm317

LOL, You know Teak, whenever we use a photo of 0bama, we should put a teleprompter in front of him. The TV/media crew instead of complaining, may be they should just take his picture through the teleprompter and start publishing it.

Profiles in Courage won the Pulitzer Prize, which isn’t just “some prize”, it’s the prize for a writer in this country. And it was not compiled by various people. It was written by JFK, with a lot of help from his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy. Unlike Obummer, Kennedy was extremely literate and a good writer. Some say that Jackie wrote the book, or most of it, but JFK did have major input. A friend of my mother’s worked as a nurse in the hospital where he was recovering from back surgery and that is when he and Jackie wrote it. I remember seeing her autographed copy of it when I was a child. She said that they used to work on the book for hours and that it was a great distraction for him because he was in a lot of pain from his back surgery. She had no reason to lie, so I will take her word for it that he and Jackie did write the book.

The British are polite to a fault. They even tolerated Bush landing in the Queen Mother’s Rose Garden and ruining it with his helicopter. At least the Queen did. The press didn’t like it so much. After all, some of those rose bushes had lived longer than Bush had. I wonder if Obummer will do his snotty attitude with the Queen. Her Majesty does not tolerate that sort of thing and it will be interesting to see what happens. The nouveau riche homies meet the original aristos….should be interesting.

The comments on those two articles are a hoot..the Brits get Obummer, and they don’t like him much. Neither do the Americans who are commenting. This is one of my favorites..

Does anyone else think Obama cries himself to sleep every night?

What is it about an individual who can’t memorize their own words, with the standard tools? How many a good speech was written on the back of what ever scrap of paper, be it a napkin or calling card?

“Just words” certainly has taken the mental disconnect BO has to a whole new level.

BO has an addictive personality and will behave accordingly. I wonder what the behavioral eval the CIA did, looks like. You know others have done them.

The absolute dependence on the TelePrompTer is like “BO does karaoke” and really sucks at it.

I’m reading “The Appeal” by John Grisham – whoa, it really reminds me of the whole Obama campaign. Other people (trenched interests) pulling strings and manipulating public sentiment on manufactured issues, using BIG money to elect someone with no record to be criticized on… in the book, it’s to elect a state supreme court justice who will vote the way they want in upcoming litigation. These other people were totally packaging the candidate they picked (they approached him to run – because he was handsome and had no record). So much reminds me of Obama – it really makes you feel like thinking your vote matters is so “last year”…

  • Babs

I am so sick of the constant MSM praising of Obama’s intelligence, “the most intelligent President by far”, blah, blah, blah. Says who? The most telling thing to me is that Obama himself has had all records and transcripts sealed from his years at Occidental, Columbia and Harvard. If he is that darn intelligent, his records should reflect that, period. Nothing published as President of the Harvard Law Review? No big job offers from judges when he graduated from Harvard? Something is darn fishy here, not to mention that he admitted that he was on drugs and didn’t do much at Occidental. Then how does he get into Columbia with the kind of record he must have had at Occidental? Was he admitted as a foreign exchamge student? Much, too much hidden about this man, and much too much attributed to him without verification, thanks to the most complacent, irresponsible main stream media in the history of this country.

  • lorac

I’m reading “The Appeal” by John Grisham – it so reminds me of Obama’s campaign. Powerbrokers approaching an unknown lawyer with no record to run for a state supreme court seat – all packaging, all big money deciding elections. Scary.

  • Xandra

I think it’s a memory issue, not an intellectual ability issue.

Middle age memory loss is something of a dirty little secret and I think Obama has it.

  • FLDemFem

Columbia has an Affirmative Action exchange program with Occidental. That is how Obummer got in to Columbia. Not his grades or intelligence, Affirmative Action. He really is the Affirmative Action President.

  • bayareavoter

I can’t believe they have a trip planned to Europe! Is he EVER GOING TO STAY IN THE OFFICE AND GET SOME REAL WORK DONE?

All he does is read speeches off his teleprompter and travel around. He never does any work because he never had a real job before.

the economy gets scarier by the day and he can’t focus!

  • trixta

I recommend the Canadian B-movie TROJAN HORSE about a candidate much like Obama and the internationalist cabal who installs him as Prez.

  • trixta

    It’s his drug-fried brain, much like GWB’s.

  • trixta

To think that GWB didn’t use the teleprompter as much as BO is really too much! LOL!

Great! We have our first Ping-Pong president.

“I read this story earlier. It makes me wonder about who wrote his books and the speech years ago at the DNC convention. I thought someone was working on making textual comparisons like they did in exposing the author of Primary Colors. And has anyone seen any other of his scholarly writings yet?”

THERE HAVE BEEN POSTS AT SEVERAL OTHER SITES WHICH CLAIM THAT THE REAL AUTHOR OF THE OBAMA BOOKS IS WILLIAM AYERS….the one Obama tried to claim at the start of his campaign…that he barely knew.

  • Isabelle

Great point! Maybe that is why he became a “community organizer”.

  • PureGold

What’s wrong with you people? Bush used a teleprompter as well. Problem was, he still couldn’t read it.

  • http://americanpumainitaly.blogspot.com/ American Girl in Italy

Bush wasn’t hailed as a great orator. Obama is, and he is virtually speechless without a teleprompter. He uses one more than ANY other president. He can’t announce a new post without one. He can’t do anything without one. Bush used notecards.

    Did you read the article?

  • Zippy

Lest not forget that Bush broke the record for most vacation days of any sitting President.
He spent 487 days at Camp David and made 77 visits to his ranch in Crawford during his presidency, and spending all or part of 490 days there.
Do the math..Approximately 1/3 of his days in office. How quickly some forget.

  • andrew191

I wish Obama would go on a loooooong vacation, to somewhere like Siberia where his destructive influence might be minimized.

  • beebop

May I just say this? If we could get 0bomba to shut his mouth during the hours the stock market is open? I would be a happy investor.

  • Lyn

The same guy (Ayers), that the Obama’s let babysit their kids, that Ben Smith and others sat on the story.
Also when Obama first got his advancement, he didn’t write the book, he had 1 year and nothing so they cancelled the contract. later they got a new publisher and all of a sudden he could write. I also always wonderred how BO and MO could afford to go to Bali for a few months so he could write the book. He was just out of Law school (supposedly had lots of student loans as well as the regular bills) yet could just take months off and rent another place to wirte the book. Also speaking of HOW would they be able to stay for months in Bali, WHAT passport/visa did he have? A visitor visa in Indonesia? A visitors doesn’t allow you to stay for months, of course IF he was travelling on an Indonesian passport, there would be no problem.

  • Ferd Berfle

Is any of this about Bush?

    No.

Which part of Oblahblah are you failing utterly to understand?

  • Ferd Berfle

    What’s wrong with you people?

    Nothing is wrong with us.

You bots, however, weaken the nation every time you post.

I’ll be nice when this country starts electing qualified, honest people!

  • Lyn

You seem to forget that most of the posters here did NOT vote for Bush, also I’m so tired of it, during the primaries (and even into the GE) when ever anyone would point out something wrong about Obama the response was always BUT BUT BUT Hillary did….. Now that he is POTUS and still won’t take any responsibility, the answer is BUT BUT BUSH…..
So what is your point? someone was worse than BO? How about raisng the bar just a little higher. I mean this IS the guy that Oprah called The One, the one that was supposed to fix the ocean tides and save our souls and make the world love us. So why try to point out there are Presidetns that travelled more or spent alot of Money so he isn’t the worst? Is that your sign of success? At least he isn’t the worst… who care if there were 30 some POTUS that were better and worked harder?
I have faith tho, he has been in office less than 2 months, I’m sure shortly he will break all records for travel, wastefull spending ect.

  • Ferd Berfle

And as dumb as a ball-peen hammer.

  • http://americanpumainitaly.blogspot.com/ American Girl in Italy

    well said!

  • Ferd Berfle

You said it. These obamatrons are just as moronic as the bushbots were. Their Coat of Arms includes pointing fingers.

For once, it would be a nice switch if the obamatron nation would actually own their slacker of a POTUS and have him get busy instead of coming here posting their unintelligible gobbledegook that blames us for his lack of candor, sense of duty, and honor.

  • beebop

It would be nice if the MSM started to highlight those who are qualified and honest and expose the full and complete record of those who may not be.

  • beachnan

Zippy-his time in office has just begun. Give him some time and I’m sure he will surpass Bush.

  • b mathews

does anyone else think he is rushing to push thru his agenda (whatever that might be) quickly before americans find out the truth about him? and probably after its too late to do anything about it.

  • K Lynne

I saw a story a while back (can’t find it now) that said that at Obama’s press conferences, it appears he has prescreened the questions – instead of calling on someone who is raising a hand, he looks around “Is Joe Smith here? Where is Joe?”. So even the answers to questions are pre-rehearsed, and ‘hardball’ questions are avoided.

I noticed this yesterday, while watching a bit of the Health Care conference. He looked around the room and says “Is John Doe still here? John, what’s your question?”.

More evidence that he doesn’t think well on the fly…

  • Lyn

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123431418276770899.html
About half-way through President Obama’s press conference Monday night, he had an unscripted question of his own. “All, Chuck Todd,” the President said, referring to NBC’s White House correspondent. “Where’s Chuck?” He had the same strange question about Fox News’s Major Garrett: “Where’s Major?”

The problem wasn’t the lighting in the East Room. The President was running down a list of reporters preselected to ask questions. The White House had decided in advance who would be allowed to question the President and who was left out.
