About half-way through President Obama’s press conference Monday night, he had an unscripted question of his own. “All, Chuck Todd,” the President said, referring to NBC’s White House correspondent. “Where’s Chuck?” He had the same strange question about Fox News’s Major Garrett: “Where’s Major?”

The problem wasn’t the lighting in the East Room. The President was running down a list of reporters preselected to ask questions. The White House had decided in advance who would be allowed to question the President and who was left out.

I saw a story a while back (can’t find it now) that said that at Obama’s press conferences, it appears he has prescreened the questions – instead of calling on someone who is raising a hand, he looks around “Is Joe Smith here? Where is Joe?”. So even the answers to questions are pre-rehearsed, and ‘hardball’ questions are avoided.

I noticed this yesterday, while watching a bit of the Health Care conference. He looked around the room and says “Is John Doe still here? John, what’s your question?”.

More evidence that he doesn’t think well on the fly…

You seem to forget that most of the posters here did NOT vote for Bush, also I’m so tired of it, during the primaries (and even into the GE) when ever anyone would point out something wrong about Obama the response was always BUT BUT BUT Hillary did….. Now that he is POTUS and still won’t take any responsibility, the answer is BUT BUT BUSH…..
So what is your point? someone was worse than BO? How about raisng the bar just a little higher. I mean this IS the guy that Oprah called The One, the one that was supposed to fix the ocean tides and save our souls and make the world love us. So why try to point out there are Presidetns that travelled more or spent alot of Money so he isn’t the worst? Is that your sign of success? At least he isn’t the worst… who care if there were 30 some POTUS that were better and worked harder?
I have faith tho, he has been in office less than 2 months, I’m sure shortly he will break all records for travel, wastefull spending ect.
