Obama's grandfather's involvement in events in Kenya during Mr. Winston Churchill's second term of office as Prime Minister. First the so-called "Mau Mau Uprising" was in fact a civil war amongst members of the Kikuyu tribe, which had the objective of gaining the election of Jomo Kenyatta to the presidency of Kenya. Most of the 5,000 black African who died in the civil war were killed by fellow Africans. (The 34 British civilian settlers who were killed were murdered by Mau Mau extremists.) The allegations that Pres. Barack Obama's grandfather was imprisoned because of his being a "freedom-fighter" for the Mau Mau is obviously false. The dates simply do not add up. Grandfather Obama (who incidentally was of the Luo tribe, which opposed the Kikuyu) was released from a six-month prison sentence in 1951. I couldn't remember the make of the car that hit me or how I had even gotten out of the wreck. The whole thing was terrible. And I'm not willing to judge anyone that's gone through such an ordeal. Hell, was he even coherant enough to tell anyone what happened? I know I wasn't. I called my mom and told her I was going to be late for dinner. No mention of what happened.
