“Live From New York!” [Update x2]

UPDATE: Below is the Obama cartoon. First, this is the full version of the opening skit on SNL on Saturday night, with the debate, via Red Lasso:

UPDATE x2: Here is the Obama cartoon via Political Amnesia (since the YouTube version no longer worked). “Bamboozled,” indeed:

And the bloggers at Political Amnesia have great clips too.

I’m on the West Coast so haven’t seen it yet. Went to YouTube hoping somebody would have a video up, and sure enough!

From my East Coast pals, I hear that there are more great sketches. Will add them as they become available. If you spot the videos, let us know. susanunpc at gmail dot com

Susan, apparently, they did a bit about last week’s debate prior to this bit — if you can post that too, please!

    (I knew I should’ve Tivo’d SNL this weekend – completely forgot.)

The skit was great. Her appearance was excellent.

But I think the real kicker right now is Jack Nicholson’s pro-Hillary video on YouTube.

    It’s fabulous.

I’m searching! It doesn’t even come on here for another hour. Hard to wait.

Wish this had shown the debate segment but someone will get that up soon, no doubt.

Isn’t it? I think it’s just for the Web, but if I were the ad person, I’d put it on teevee all over Texas and Ohio. People would be riveted, and love it.

  • Iphie

I loved the Jack Nicholson ad too, but I bet they’d never use it on TV, if for no other reason than that last clip and the saluting double entendre. Which I thought was great, btw. I sent it to a 30something male friend of mine who’s been saying for years how hot he thinks Hillary is — then again, he just married a woman who makes twice as much as he does — he clearly doesn’t have a problem with powerful women.

  • Taters

I heard it was aired on ABC News. I love it,too.

  • JoeySky18

you might want to check out this clip too.

This veteran rocks. His message annoyed a few Obama supporters.

Thanks, Joey. I love that guy. Gave him 5 stars. I may post that.

And thanks, Joey, for the link to Red Lasso. You rawk.

  • Ann

Go Hillary! She is so classy, strong and smart…no wonder she makes the GOP crazy.

  • fiscalliberal

The good news is Hillary is starting to have fun with this. That is good as that is when she is at her best.

Some how some of this has to start catching some level of reality. Could it be that SNL will shame the super delegates to responsibility

  • S, Markom

Amy actually does a better impression of Hillary Clinton than Hillary Clinton does. There may be an idea there: simultaneous campaign events in Texas and Ohio. Who would know?

  • chris

    Classic. Yes, that was choice.
I’ve been fortunate to imitate people to them, and it can be rather twilight zone for both involved.
years ago bush sr came into a store I ran in Houston…I had to resist.
I kept telling myself…Na Ga Da

  • chris

    that was excellent
i do imitations and met bush sr years ago. i couldn’t imitate him to him, Na Ga Da

  • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

It’s up now. Still can’t find any videos of other skits not with HRC, but which I hear are hilarious.

  • chris

    like the Obama Files!
    they didn’t hold back

  • John

They probably couldn’t show it on tv because I doubt very highly that Jack Nicholson has the rights to all those films. It’s a fantastic commercial though.

Hillary was great tonight, and the skit was spot on. What the media did to her this season was an utter disgrace. If she loses, someday someone will have to write a book entitled The Media Assasination of Hillary Clinton.

  • chris

Yeah, like that book The Hunting of a President?

  • mimi

Obama supporters better get real. If they think NO COMEDIAN is going to poke fun at him or imitate him they need to think again. There was a cottage industry of Nixon impersonators and they were brutal. SNL has a tradition of poking fun at presidents. When the first began in ’75 they did bits on Jimmy Carter and his wild and wooly brother Billy. They socked it to Reagan. Dana Carvey came into prominence becasue of his spot-on imitation of Bush Sr. And Clinton? Come on they did bits on his infidelity relentlessly and were downright cruel. If Hillary could take that Obama can take this little stuff that’s been lobbed at him so far. Can he take it like a man? Or as the rappers say: “Is he a punkass?”

They’ve done Al Gore and of course they have had a field day with Bush/Cheney. If Obama can’t and his supporters can’t take it then how are they going to deal with anything?

I loved the debate segment and the animation of Obama trying to duck being seen with Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. I hope next week they do a bit about Obama keeping his white grandmother away from the public eye. Trust me, when Obama comedown starts happening, they’re going to LOVE these bits.

    Keep’em coming SNL.

  • DCDemocrat

Very funny clips, Susan. Thanks for posting them.

  • ces

Or just have Deval Patrick stand in for Obama….heck, he knows the speeches already!

  • AF

They played it this morning on ABC’s “This Week”.

The cartoon states it is no longer available.

  • Simon

Dana Carvey came into prominence becasue of his spot-on imitation of Bush Sr. And Clinton?

My favorite was of Bill Clinton out for a jog with the Secret Service, stopping at a McDonald’s, turning to his detail and saying : “let’s not tell Hillary about this.”

My Dad had heart problems, but would still indulge in sweets, and such, high fat foods he was supposed to avoid. So, we’d go out, inevitably making our way to the Hostess outlet store, and he’d turn to me and say “Don’t tell your Mom about this.”

    Ok.

  • Sujesh

Amy was fantastic. Though it was on a lighter note, I think it makes people realize how biased the media was towards Hillary. I enjoyed watching it and I am still hoping and praying that Hillary win the nomination.

Dead silence from DK; Terse paragraph followed by a wave of nastygrams on HP.

    Same shit, different day.
