if he takes the stand then he is at a very high risk to either perjur himself, inadvertently admit to committing a crime or take the 5th.

Considering the Judge is a Bush appointee, it would be interesting to see how he’d quash a subpoena. If he testifies, at a minimum he would have to be to the letter, as it pertains his depositions. Fitzgerald is the only one to make Rove do the “frog dance” 5 times down to the court house…

On the other hand the lawyer might be floating a “trial ballon” in advance of the trial much like they did with Scooter ‘Aspen’ Libby and Cheney.

Somehow, Auchi, Rezko and the fugitive Mr. Alsammarae are part of the bigger Siebel Edmonds deal, From what I have read that is where the wind is sending me.
What keeps knocking at my door is why is this fugitive, Mr. Alsammarae, in the first attempt to escape reportedly had a Chinese passport and on the second attempt he wisked out of Baghdad on a private jet via Jordan,hides out at US Embassy is given papers to enter Turkey and is now roaming free in the Windy City. He knows both Rezko and Auchi. We have an extradition treaty with France and when Auchi flys in to Chicago in 2004, he’s not extradited to France ASAP. Instead he meets Rezko and Obama at a hotel to get together.

What is most striking about this Pentagon report is that it is from the year 2004, when Mr. Auchi traveled by private aircraft to Midway Airport in Chicago and then to a fete at the Four Season Hotel, where he met with his business partner in Chicago real estate, Mr. Rezko, as well as with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Also present that night, according to a fresh report by James Bone and Dominic Kennedy of the London Times, was State Senator Barack Obama, who had recently won the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate seat that next fall. Bone and Kennedy report that Mr. Auchi and Mr. Obama shook hands. Mr. Obama’s aide does not now recall the handshake but does agree that Mr. Obama was present in the hotel that evening.

The Rezko story would peak before the convention, so if it really damages BO, she could get the nom on the floor. I think that is a big reason she will stay in even if she loses Texas. She isn’t going anywhere because they know party leaders will have some serious buyers remorse.

Fox has been reporting the NAFTA and Rezko stories about twice an hour.

There were somewhere between 10-15 stories in the major papers and news sites that reported on the Rezko trial.

Thomas was wearing a wire, but according to news reports, he did not get Obama or Blago on tape. He taped Ald. Ed “Fast Eddy” Vrodolyack (sp?), a Republican alderman from Chicago. However, it has been reported that Thomas will testify that he logged “several” visits to Rezko by Blago and Obama and witnessed Rezko hand a Blago aid a handfull of cash.

The big revelation will be how many visits Obama had with Rezko, in Rezko’s office. If it was “several”, that would contradict Obama’s previous statements and the press will have a field day with him. If this comes on the same day as the cash to the Blago aid, it could look REALLY bad for Obama. It’s guilt by association, but its juicy and there is no way the media does not report the hell out of it.
