Twelve hours

Ok I’m going to keep this one short & sweet because I’ve just spent 12 hours on the phone banks at campaign headquarters and I’m zonked.  I went through both batteries on my Treo by 5pm and haven’t checked my email so I haven’t a clue as to what’s happening with the results.  I hope all those phone calls paid off – I’ll have to wait until Wednesday morning to find out.

I just wanted to fire up a brief post tonight to talk a little bit about the phone bank today, and the unsung heroes of any campaign – the folks staffing the phone banks.

Make the jump – there’s a bit more…

No hyper-links or policy papers – no press statements or Fact Hub stuff tonight.  That can wait.

As many of you know, I work full time and have two small kids at home.  Hubby works 6 days a week so I’m home with the kids on Saturdays.  Sunday’s our one day together as a family each week and after I get breakfast and check the Sunday talking heads shows, I kiss hubby and the kids and head on down to campaign headquarters to talk to voters in upcoming primary states.  Phone banking is tiring but its important work.  And if it means helping to put Hillary up and over the top in a state then I’ll gladly give up my one day off with hubby and the kids to go in and make a difference.

Now everyone’s probably heard of Hillary’s top advisors, but the folks who help guide the volunteers really should get more of the credit.  Some of you fellow Hillary supporters (especially in the DC area) have probably gotten an email from the woman who runs the phone bank effort at HQ – her name’s Adrienne Benson.  This young lady must run on pure adrenaline because every time I’ve gone in – whether it’s on a Sunday afternoon or on a Tuesday when I’ve taken a day off work to help get out the vote on a primary day – Adrienne’s always there.  Even today, when I logged in just over 12 hours, she was still urging us on.

Ten pm and there was still an hour left that we could call El Paso, and she was still urging us to keep on keepin’ on.

So here’s to Adrienne and her dedicated interns.  The young people who turn up every day to do all they can to help Hillary make it to the White House…

Keep up the great work gang – I’ll see you next Sunday afternoon!

Ok – can’t type much more without massive numbers of typos.  I’ll just wrap this up by asking you to donate $5 in honor of each of the dedicated folks in that phone bank room.

That’s 10 names – $5 each = $50.00.

DONATE NOW!

Whattya say?!

I don’t know how you do it, Alegre! Thank you so much!

Here’s another great “up” diary at MyDD.

To Alegre and to all the volunteers doing the hard work: THANK YOU !! Thank you very much.

Not all inspiration comes from words of hope. HRC has inspired you to emulate her by working, and your work will put her in the WH. I thank you. I’ve donated and will continue to do so as my funds allow me.

    Go Hillary!

Okay, so it’s morning, and we won BIG!!!!! But when you consider how much more money Obama spent than Hillary, wow! Did this guy lose big or what? Obama’s campaign claims that whenever the voters get to meet Obama, they get turned on to him and his message. Well, not so fast. He spent lots of time in Ohio and Texas (and even some time in Rhode Island), and he blew it. He can’t close the deal. He can’t win in big states where he doesn’t live. Pitiful.

Congrats on the win last night, Alegre :-)

I can’t get to Senator Clinton’s website. Every time I try, I get the “Internet Explorer cannot find this page.” notification. I have been trying for more than a week. I can’t imagine that her site has been down that long, or at all. Is anyone else having trouble getting through?

Alegre, Thank You. I have never met you. I have only read your diaries at DKos (that I now avoid except for a few non-candidate issues) and MyDD (where for some reason I cannot get a response to my e-mails about my account)but you are one of the best candidate advocates that I have ever encountered. Your diaries made me look closer at Sen. Clinton’s platform and convince even my Republican relatives that she is the best choice for President in these troubling times. You have given a very positive face to the blogoshere. Looking forward to Pennsylvania and clinching the nomination and the White House in November.
