I'll defend Samantha Powers. She's inexperienced with political campaigns and the press. She committed two major "crimes", spoke the truth about Obama's Iraq plan and tried to share her feelings with the press "off the record". These are to honest to goodness mistakes anybody inexperienced would make.

The fault lies entirely with Obama. It was his responsibility to make sure his advisors new the basic rules of politics.

And may I just say that it is incredibly sexist to throw her under the bus while defending Austan Goolsbee who also put his foot in his mouth and harmed the campaign.

Larry and Susan: can we have an open thread? It's the weekend!!

Because it's a good time to discuss what's being planned for McInsane...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080308/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_air_force_tankers

Looks like our capital business supporter, is going to be STUNG by angry Killer Bees he flicked off earlier, especially when he's putting purse strings ahead of Americans making a decent middle-class living.

Got to think ahead folks, it's fun to trade words over O-Bomba, but we have to win the election, and look ahead of the variables to use to our advantage. This one will cut deep into the only record McCain is consistent with in 20 years -- helping business. This time he axed an American institution, and one in a downsized economy that supplies good paying jobs.

I believe Markos really just hates women, especially if he can endorse that crap (looked over at at DK, and saw the same type of photochopping done with another blogger -- some really sickos over there, and I mean s-i-c-k).

I’d say that a hell of a lot of Republicans voted strategically. A cautious person would subtract the probable Republican strategic votes from the Obama tallies.

They're voting for both candidates. Each with a reason that A or B is the weaker one.

But most, until a point-blank call from Rush et al. to vote for Hillary, voted for O-Bomba. They feel the country isn't really ready for a Black candidate (why else would SC white males vote for O-Bomba [you know the Stars and Bars club]? Especially the most LIBERAL senator in recent memory?).

The press doesn't want to report the cross-overs other than a curiosity, but if you saw the Republican results in solid red states, you'll see more voted for Dems this round -- and those Bubbas aren't going to switch because of the war, let alone knowing there's a tax hike in the future.

Hillary supporters will need to brace themselves for the TRUE vote count in November. Luckily, for Hillary most voted already for Obama, so big wins now toward the convention wouldn't matter, as it'll be a super-delegate nomination.

Republicans are nervous, because McCain really isn't much different than Hillary (why it was so easy for me to cross-over to vote for her. Why vote for a fake Dem, compared to the real McCoy anyway?).

"the word is pronounced, “fook.” Rhymes with, “kook.”"

As in fookin hoors.

If we only had Father Ted in America.

In Scotland, Wales and, should you be unfortunate enough to find yourself there, Ireland, the word is pronounced, "fook." Rhymes with, "kook."

MUCH more lyrical to the ear than the Anglo-Saxon pronunciation, isn't it?

The process largely remains the same, however.

I know this question could be asked of anyone's fundraising; but given the support of europeans
(left-leaning people) for Obama; how do we
track where the on-line contributions are really coming from? Who controls the legality (US resident/US citizen) of online $$ flowing in?

Serious question here: anyone knows?

"I’m curious what the real MO is."

The RNC knows that Clinton will have a stronger showing against McCain.

The strategically intelligent thing to do is to divert your vote from a certain Republican primary winner to the weakest Democrat candidate.

I'll beat this drum again.
The Republican party has organized Texas for the last fifteen years into a possibly permanent Republican majority using breathtakingly brilliant tactics. On the ticket in the primary was a honey-trap for the conservative vote.

John McCain
A Jesus Freak
A Conservative Favorite Son

The Democratic vote was a couple million more than the Republican vote.

I'd say that a hell of a lot of Republicans voted strategically. A cautious person would subtract the probable Republican strategic votes from the Obama tallies. I'd wager that Penn is doing just that. It would serve the Democrat hierarchy to do that as well unless they wish to be impaled on another McGovern moment.

I'm with you. You get the response from Obama supporters of.... she did too. The facts so far show who -Goolsbee met with Rioux, the meeting was documented by DeMora, what was discussed-Nafta, where - the Chicago Consulate. I'll believe that Clinton did also when I see the evidence.

Obama surrogate whining on CNN right now, that Clinton has no DOCUMENTS that prove her foreign policy experience.

The USA media is not serving the interests of the Republic and is, in the case of this primary, subverting it. This article bears witness to that fact by the fact that it was a UK paper, the backwoods fuckin Scotsman no less, that reported the story.

The only reason that the democratic process is more efficient than totalitarian methods is that it is the result of an educated and informed electorate. We are screwing the pooch on both accounts. The media is foisting off on us an obviously unprepared and inexperienced leader which is a target for any regime wishing to advance its interests at the expense of ours, i.e. look for a wake-up call on Taiwan next year in February. I call that treason.

"Treason doth never prosper: What's the reason?
Why if it prosper, none dare call it treason."
