Love those puppies. They are sooooo adorable. A couple look like they are getting plump. Any clues yet as the who and what the father was?

Well, thats two weeks down and only another 5 more to go?

Being in Florida has the advantage of not needing to stable them. I have a ten stall barn, in case of hurricanes or illness, but if it's not a hurricane and they are healthy and sound, they stay out in the pasture 24/7. Makes stable work really easy....hehehe. I drag the pastures every couple of months in winter, at least once a month in summer and that's it for "stable work". I feed once a day, in the evening, and the rest of the time, I just watch them out the windows. The two colts are separated, with one in the house yard and adjoining paddocks and the other across the fence. They were fighting too much, so I separated them.
Will try to post a pic..here goes..

Thanks for the link, FL! I appreciate it!

Cool abt your 8 - that is wonderful (Jordan was a hunter/jumper). Are these the ones on which you give lessons? Or are they retired from work in general?

Oh, dear abt the kitten. Yeah, I imagine that IS keeping you from getting a good night's sleep. And then you have to take care of the horses and stables all day, right?

Jordan does get beet pulp. You may recall he had colic, and it was then that they realized he had been dealing with a gastric ulcer for a while. They put him on wicked expensive meds (like $300 a bottle - I'm sure you know what I'm talking abt) for a month or so to calm it down initially, and that worked. Now, besides the beet pulp (which he gets twice a day in his grain), he gets G.U.T. That has really worked for him.

Good luck with that kitten!

Hey - can we see photos of YOUR horses?

Thank you, I do (the stables are abt 25 min. away from me).

Sorry, Andrew - I live in Coastal SC, on a tidal creek close to the ocean. The pine trees at the stables probably threw you..

Jackarooty, happy to oblige! They are getting to the point where they are learning to walk - it is funny and cute all at the same time!

Thanks, y'all - I am so glad you are animal lovers. It really has been a source of comfort during this past election, and will be for the next 4 yrs to come...

Adorable critters, Amy!! Currently, I have eight horses, all Thoroughbreds, mostly retired race horses. And I am bottle-feeding a kitten whose mom left him on my back porch, with his umbilical still attached. Little bugger eats about every three or four hours which makes getting a full night's sleep improbable for a while. Here is a tip for your horse with ulcers. Try putting him on beet pulp. It has a good bit of calcium in it which neutralizes the stomach acid and it also soaks up the stomach acid and gets it safely out of the stomach. I was able to heal up a bad case of ulcers without having to give Gastro-Guard at all. And when I told the vet at the training center about it, she put several of her ulcer patients on it which cut way back on the expense of treating ulcers. Some were able to get off Gastro-Guard entirely, others only needed it on days when they didn't give beet pulp..ie two days before racing. Beet pulp is a forage feed and should be fed soaked since dry beet pulp can cause choke. I feed it to all my horses, year round. Oh, and here is a link to one of the funniest stories I have ever read, it's about beet pulp, and a squirrel. Enjoy!!

I had a good chuckle when the whole Rush/Obama thing came out. There's humor in the fact that the Obama administration decided to equate themselves to an extreme radio personality.

Awwwww....they're all so beautiful, RRRAmy. And, babies like Jordan, the minis, and the pups are THERAPEUTIC indeed. I have my own pack of therapists, who give me the loving perspective I need, too.

Bless you and yours :-)
