Barack’s Teleprompter Special Olympics [UPDATED]

(Bumped up from last night. This is essential, albeit disturbing, reading. – Susan)

We now know why Barack must have, I REPEAT MUST HAVE, a teleprompter in order to sound intelligent. If left to ad-lib the man is a walking gaffe-master. According to Jake Tapper:

President Obama, in his taping with Jay Leno Thursday afternoon, attempted to yuk it up with the funnyman, and ended up insulting the disabled. Towards the end of his approximately 40-minute appearance, the president talked about how he’s gotten better at bowling and has been practicing in the White House bowling alley. He bowled a 129, the president said.

“That’s very good, Mr. President,” Leno said sarcastically. It’s “like the Special Olympics or something,” the president said.

Well, Barack is right about one thing. It is like the Special Olympics at the White House. But it is not about bowling, it is about his mounting failures as President. But what is his excuse? He is not mentally or physically disabled from birth or accident. Nope. Maybe just a self-indulgent prick? Pure and simple. Why doesn’t Barack admit that he is just no damn good at bowling and leave it at that. Just because he bowls like a kid with cerebral palsy is no reason he must insult children and adults with cerebral palsy. But why should he man up and take responsibility for anything? He’s the messiah. Better to always blame others. That’s the Barack way. Two months into this Presidency and we are seeing stupidity not even demonstrated by George Bush. It’s going to be a long four years.

I have a new definition of irony. As I type this I am sitting here watching Will Ferrell’s HBO special where he portrays George W. Bush as a shallow, ignorant boob and I see the Jake Tapper story about Barack Obama come up. I have been a tough critic of Bush, but it looks like Barack Obama is well on his way to making Bush look like the smart one.

Here’s the video evidence:

Let’s see . . . . 57 states, they speak arabic in Afghanistan, Tim Geithner is the essential Secretary of Treasury, special olympics. On it goes.

One more thing. The Obamabots call Sarah Palin a moron. Look at what that “moron” said about Special Olympics:

Sarah is much more Presidential. At least she cares for the most challenged among us.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/blog/ Truthteller

Not only is Obama sexist; he is an ableist. I am thoroughly disgusted. Is this man even a Democrat?

  • Chris

Will this be edited out for the actual show? No teleprompter equals stupid, thoughtless comments. No wonder he is so tied to his best friend, Tele. He and his second in command could have a contest for who says the dumbest things. Geez and I bet the msm never mentions this. Bush would have been fried by the time the words came out of his mouth if he had said something like this.

  • TeakwoodKite

I have a new definition of irony. As I type this I am sitting here watching Will Ferrell’s HBO special ….
LJ, I watched it last night…it started slow but was rippin funny as it went along…I would love to get that clip of Condi and him…

    OMG….

And his echo chamber skit was spot on.

  • Marissa

“it looks like Barack Obama is well on his way to making Bush look like the smart one.”

Can you believe we thought ANYBODY would be better than Bush? Obama is starting to make Bush look like he deserved to go to Yale.

  • TeakwoodKite

    BO is a Tele-tubby? HAA!

  • PO’dVet

Could someone slip a speech onto his teleprompter where he resigns please?!?

  • evgenia

I am more insulted by the way in which Obama indulges in his thirst for fame and celebrityhood. In this regard, he has a lot in common with the other, current fame whore in our broke-ass state of California, Nadya the Octomom. I sensed all along that Obama sought the presidency not out of duty but out of grasp for fame. Now he has the biggest platform to assuage this pathological desire, so I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of primetime news conferences and guesting on talk shows, which are nothing more than text book displays of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

  • AK

“Obama is starting to make Bush look like he deserved to go to Yale.”

…and we still don’t have Obama’s Columbia grades.

He’s an affirmative-action dumbass. Good job nominating this idiot, Democrats. This is what happens when you pick your President based on Bush-hatred and white guilt.

  • Obama: Dubya II Electric Boogaloo

Damn, this guy is a real piece of work. Jokes at the expense of the mentally retarded. Bush could mangle sentences but Obama is just down right mean spirited, to his very core.

  • Lyn

Barky can NOT make a joke without insulting someone else. He is always putting other people or groups down in his “humor” He’s like a spoiled snotty teenaged brat. He has no empathy for anyone. This a perfect example of why he isn’t going to the Gridiron, he can’t be trusted with his off the cuff humor.

  • lorac

And he can’t handle any criticism, or even ribbing like he would get at the Gridiron. He can ridicule others, but he must be the object of awe.

  • AngryWhitePerson

Athletes in the Special Olympics work a lot harder than this clown. Not only that, but they have to score higher to qualify at the state tournament level. Does he think the Special Olympics is for lollygaggers and a pity party for the disabled? What a useless snob he is.

You will just never learn. When a liberal Democrat utters insensitive racist, sexist, ableist, or whatever comments under the guise of “humor,” it is acceptable because, after all, liberal Democrats are moral people. Why shouldn’t they be allowed to blow off a little steam with a laugh?

All conservatives, Republicans and independents alike, are by definition immoral. Therefore, when they offer an impromptu insensitive comment, even under the guise of humor, it is a reflection of their fundamental immorality and thus should be censored in the strongest terms.

If you lived in California and dealt with Hollywood on a regular basis, you would understand these things.

  • steel magnolia

Pundits from everywhere have been asking why is he going around still campaigning? Who does he have to campaign against anymore? Why does he have to have these townhall meetings? He has the majority in Congress to pass any damn thing he wants to – why is he doing this? The reason is that he misses the adulation! He really, really needs the masses to yell and scream his name and applaud him like mad. He thrives on it and he doesn’t get it cooped up in the White House anymore. He doesn’t like being questioned or criticized or second-guessed. He wants a pep rally all day long – day in and day out – O-BAM-A – O-BAM-A

This is the most pathetic and arrogant thing I’ve ever seen in my many years of following politics.

We just got rid of a cheerleader and now we have the Obama pep squad masses with him leading with the pom poms.

  • Anti-Harkonnen Freedom Fighter

Agreed Larry – nice article. As for Obama’s response…

“The president made an off-hand remark making fun of his own bowling that was in no way intended to disparage the Special Olympics,” White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said.

    Sorry, no pass.

Newpaper prints a cartoon of a monkey= headline news on ever outlet for a week

Obama makes fun of the Special Olympics= nothing to see here.

You know that Glenn Beck is going to have a field day with this tomorrow, though.

He’s supposed to be the POTUS, and as such represents the values of all that is right with America. Instead, he’s on Leno during the “worst economic crisis since the Great Depression” making jokes that insult organizations that benefit the disabled while he hasn’t even managed to hire a complete staff, especially in Treasury. Yup, focused like a laser.

Nope. He needs the Imus treatment and needs to fly Air Force One out to the Special Olympics on his own dime and start groveling about how sorry he is while the rest of the country demands that he’s fired from his job.

Hell, even Imus has a ranch for disabled kids where all his money goes. Obama’s *cough* charitable work consists of getting federal money for Tony Rezco and Michelle’s hospital $300k/ years job.

If we, as a country, can’t forgive radio hosts, newpapers or bounty hunters with long track records of legitimate charitable work for a slip of the tongue; then tell me why the POTUS who have never done anything for anyone but himself and is failing miserably the simple task of hiring people and all the other most basic elements of his first full time job gets a pass? I challenge anyone to justify that, in contrast to these others.

BTW- it’s not like it’s the first time he’s casually insulted people in public. We’re a “nation of cowards” remember? If were weren’t so bitter and would stop clinging to our bibles and guns, maybe we could have such a conversation. Obama has trumped us all. He managed to sit in church with Rev. Wright for 20 years without hearing anything offensive but the rest of us are focused on 5 seconds of looped, out of context sound bytes of the dear Reverend. Our narrow minds still think of Ayres as a terrorist instead of a reformer and selfless educator. Yup, too bad we’re not as enlightened as Obama. We’re just a bunch of typical white people, like his grandma, who cross the street when we see black people. If only we’d stop trying to scare people about our President with the funny name, who doesn’t look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills.

Every single day, every single day, there is another insult on America, the Constitution and our Citizens. I feel sick. Is this just a bad movie that I can walk out of any time? Please God, make it stop.

You’ve seen his teleprompter now has his own blog http://baracksteleprompter.blogspot.com/ ?

Teleprompter was bummed he was tossed aside tonight for Jay Leno.

It’s days like this that make me miss the days when He and I would walk the streets of Chicago, doing community activism. Sure, it took Him 30 minutes to set me up, and sometimes he couldn’t get the extension cord to reach an electrical outlet, or the folks he wanted to talk to would walk off because they had better things to do, or the glare off my screen made his remarks unreadable. But it was a simpler time, when he could stay on script and didn’t feel the need to “speak his mind,” and we were a team. All I know, is it’s going to be a long flight home.

    No, he’s a socialist.

In 1996 Obama was endorsed by the Illinois New Party in the Illinois State Senator race. The New Party was far-left, associated with the Democratic Socialist party and the Committees of Correspondence (a communist group). He sought the endorsement, and to get it had to sign a pledge of support for the party, which he did. http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/Articles/Obama%20and%20the%20New%20Party.html

  • Lyn

He doesn’t know how to actualy do the job. ALL he knows how to do is campaign, as soon as he got elected (or cheated and stole) one position, he started campaigning for the next and never actually had time to do the one he was holding , look at his Senate record.

BUT I saw a clip from one of his Townhalls the other day and he was talking about people having to decide if they want to re elect him. My son was in the room and said wait you mean they already started the next campaign?

  • Sabina

Nadya is not the whore the media is the whore.

Anyway before Nadya was costing the California taxpayer there were thousands of irresponsible fathers who were already and are still costing taxpayers. How about getting angry at them as well!

in the case of Obama both he and as always the media are whores.

Yes mean-spirited is the correct description.

    Hilarious.

so far, Regulation solves everything, accd to Obama.

Jay says he’s scared of 90% tax, obama holding answer to jay’s question that he’s scared of targeted uber taxes

with all due respect to PC, retarded so far, almost as much as Obama’s bowling game.

Incidentally, 129 is not that bad a score…about average…..so obama just insulted like 50 million people by calling their bowling skills retarded, right?

  • Sabina

    good point lorac

Obama’s freaking campaign attacked McCain’s age, portraying old people as erratic and unstable.

  • Johnny Smithfield

As someone who volunteers as a coach for Special Olympics, I thought the comment was cringe-worthy. I see what he was trying to say, but what a poor choice of words! Plus he shows his ignorance about Special Olympics. Some of my guys are excellent bowlers…way better that BO could ever wish to be.

However I saw programs for people w/disabilities get cut to the bone under Bush. Republicans have some nerve trying to exploit this as an issue after telling the disabled basically to drop dead over the last eight years.

If Obama does what’s RIGHT and restores funding to programs like Special O, all will be forgiven.

On the off chance he could tout that hopey changey message again to win, at least we’ve shortened the first term by 3.75 years. My thought of course is that he’d lose, making his the shortest POTUS term evah! Let’s do it folks!

In baseball, three strikes you’re out. In bowling, three strikes is a “turkey”. Obama can’t “spare” us his “gutter” mentality because he “pins” his whole operational “frame”work on a false sense that he can “bowl” us over with pointless rhetoric.

Without the power given him by a silly and clueless majority, he would blend seamlessly into that same clueless majority.

Folks – another Obama slip up re mentally/physically challenged folks:

    IT. GOT. WORSE.

When they discussed the new presidential pooch, Jay asked what kind it was (paraphrasing from memory):

Leno: What, is it a Portuguese Waterhead?

OBAMA (smiling): No, it is NOT that! … It’s NOT a waterhead. I mean, that would be a scary dog. Stumbling around the house, bumping into things.

    Urban Dictionary:

    1. Water Head 183 up, 33 down love ithate it

For him, it’s been all about the chase, the climb, the desire to prove himself. But he has reached the end of the line, so he can’t justify what he has done in the past…abandon what he chased after in order to pursue something more important. He has NEVER PROVED HIMSELF AT ANYTHING. He has always been on the make….

I’m sure your misquote was accidental. Here’s Obama’s actual comment. He was glossing over Jay Leno’s own clueless faux pas:

May I point out the obvious and say that Sarah Palin would have never made this “Special Olympics” comment. Never in a million years.

Now the people of Glendale, Hollywood and L.A. generally can think back to how they insisted Palin was a toothless barbarian and, with the benefit of this new insight, can stand corrected.

They must know now that the barbarian is That One, and themselves.

Almost all politicians use teleprompters for their speeches. It’s not really a big deal at all.

Obama has been doing some town hall events recently (without a teleprompter) and he’s been very very good at these.

The “special olympics” quote was unfortunate, but let’s be honest – it’s the type of thing that most people say themselves so for people to act like it’s a big deal is sort of hypocritical. I think going after him for this will backfire.

  • http://liberalrapture.com/ John (from Liberal Rapture)

Obama is pathetic and fast becoming unbearable.

  • sandi78

My daughter participates in Special Olympics. I have no words to express the level of my disgust with this idiot. He is so clueless he doesn’t even know he said anything wrong.

Special Olympics was started by Maria Shriver’s mom, Arnold’s mother-in-law. It’s a really great thing for the athletes. My daughter has made many friends there, and so have I.

  • http://www.MoneyPhilosophy.com Jonny

I honestly cannot figure out what in the heck would make someone think something like that. What has Obama done that would make you call him “pathetic” or “unbearable” ?

I really recommend that everyone here read The Defining Moment. It’s about FDR and his first 100 days. It’s really enlightening on many levels but mainly on the level that FDR made a lot of mistakes and was far from a perfect man. If you lot were to go over the things he did the way you go after Obama on very trivial superficial stuff… It’s just..

I think the anti-Obama feelings of the people here are quite frankly irrational. They don’t appear to have any basis in anything that he actually does. It’s hatred for the sake of hatred and it’s very unbecoming.

It’s clear that no matter how well he runs the country and how well the Obama Recovery works, there are folks who are determined to be unhappy about it. It’s very sad indeed!

  • Ani

Sir, he is not “most people”. He is the President of the United States.

With that position goes a certain degree of decorum and a deep understanding that everything you say will be quoted, repeated and evaluated. He is not supposed to be some frat boy carelessly being jocular and insulting people in an effort to be cool.

Sort of like his assonine comments insulting sales organizatons for going on junkets to Las Vegas — and then Vegas loses money cause people think he thinks they shouldn’t go there. Remember when the Mayor of LV called to insist on an apology from him?

  • sandi78

No, “most” people do not say that themselves. Maybe juvenile, immature 27 year old speechwriters do, but the grown-ups in America manage to get through the day without insulting those less able than themselves. You, Jonny, are one head injury away from being in Special Olympics. Obama should thank God, if he has a God, that neither of his daughters is intellectually disabled.

Tell me, would it have been acceptable to say “just like black people do”? Of course not, so why does your idiot hero think it’s just find and dandy to insult another minority group in this country?

  • Lyn

Did you see Sarahs video about the Special Olympics?

Are you saying that FDR went to a comedy show to throw a few jokes around and one of those jokes was to put down those with physical handicaps?

Jonny – It’s clear that no matter how well he runs the country and how well the Obama Recovery works, there are folks who are determined to be unhappy about it. It’s very sad indeed!

Honetly, you don’t expect much from Obama, do you? Your opinion is that “how well he runs the country” – My opinion is that he isn’t running the country, he just shows up for photo shoots and someone else is running the country. That’s why he’s bored and has stay on the campaign trail. If he put in his 8 hours a day, he wouldn’t have time to jet around the country.

I’m entitled to my opinion. You’re entitled to your opinion. But to be degrading and condescending because I don’t agree with you is very arrogant and uncalled for.

  • mom

What’s unbecoming is when Obama spends almost a TRILLION dollars in “stimulus packages” that are filled with ridiculous wasteful spending, when he backs the TARP bill, which (oops) gets sucked up into “the system” and then, after all this fancy free expenditure, suddenly professes ANGER and SHOCK at a few CEOs at AIG making some absurd bonuses. If he was so MINDFUL of being fiscally responsible and fair with OUR MONEY, he would have at least taken the time to go over those 1000-page bills with a fine toothed comb, rather than ram them through with a battering ram. To be so foolhardy and rash, and then to express some kind of sanctimonious scorn over fiscal waste is TOTALLY HYPOCRITICAL and very UNBECOMING, sir. I know it’s hard to think clearly through all the Hopium’s Kool Aid, but, man, you just gotta.

P.S. What’s also unbecoming is to go on Leno and do some NCAA picks at all when Treasury is a ghost town. Maybe if it was fully staffed (his responsibility) “mistakes” like the AIG bonuses wouldn’t be happening.

He’s POTUS now. What’s also unbecoming is that he continues to campaign. It is very fitting, though that he is doing it prime time in place of American Idol. Very fitting indeed. And unbecoming.

  • FedUp

Hello All, have to admit I have been a lurker for months, but tonight just set me off. First his “Special” comment was so crass that any simpleton today would catch themselves before hand…and and it hit me because I do have a relative who is unique, she is more real and special than he ever will be.

Second…this man is the President of the United States, the most powerful man in the world….and goes on TV representing the USA and doesn’t wear a tie? I want a statesmen, not a fratboy.

  • ziggy

Everyone occasionally says things that, on reflection, they wish they hadn’t said, or wish they’d said differently.

  • ziggy

Doesn’t wear a tie? What was that silk tie-shaped thing wrapped around President Obama’s collar this evening?

  • lark

What is also unbecoming is that the Russians and the Chinese are picking up strength every day and taunting us with their ties to the Iranians, Venezuelans, Cubans, etc. Those people are not joking around, going to foolish idiots that make their living mocking people for what they are worth to them. Nothing.

I don’t know what kinds of briefing Mr. Obama is getting from the CIA, etc., but I would like to brief him if they are not briefing him what they are suppose to.

We may hate Obama’s naivete and incompetence but the Russians and the Chinese hate every one of us, sparing none. And they are working feverishly to trap us into an untenable situation to embarrass us back to 1800s. If Obama does not stop fooling around he is going to be fooled by them and his foolishness will stop by a dreadful case of incompetence against them. They are the ones seeking a laugh and it will come at his expense.

Obama is a clown like Bush but Bush was no fool. Obama is a fool, it shows, and the Russians will surely put him on display pretty soon.

But going to a comedy show like Leno’s is going to make jokes about people. That’s what the Leno show is all about, mocking people.

  • andrew191

Hitler had his very loyal Brown-shirts. I’m sure Obama is gratified by the efforts of his army of Brown-noses. I’m sure you (ziggy) will be in serious contention for recognition in the upcoming “Obama Sycophant and Sphincter Sucking Awards”. You’ve got my vote ziggy! Please post your acceptance speech, we’re all so fascinated by your delusional worship of a deeply disturbed man/child that any defense of him is rapidly becoming the gold standard for anyone wishing to make a career in political humor. I just watched him on Leno, he makes Carter seem like a political rock-star. Normal people are inadvertantly funnier at funerals than Obama was intentionally on Leno. He’s a hollow skinbag!

“Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in my attempt.” — The Special Olympics Oath

“Not everybody can play a sport like Michael Jordan or Mia Hamm. Some people just find it challenging to finish a game they’ve started. Other folks won’t rest until they’ve tasted victory– there are all types of people! The Special Olympics honor the athlete in everybody. People with disabilities face challenges that non-disabled people could never imagine. Take that into consideration when you think of disabled folks pushing themselves to the limit in their sport of choice. The Special Olympics games invite disabled people to partake in the camaraderie, competition and fun of sports. They are provided a chance for athletes to learn that there are no losers in this world. Here, people with disabilities demonstrate that they don’t let challenges keep them down!

Over 1 million athletes prepare for The Special Olympics every year with more than 140 thousand trained coaches. Everyone involved in these events are influenced by the determination and spirit of the athletes. The Special Olympics encourage fitness, motor skills, better self image, friendships and self-esteem in the participants.

Some athletes train all year long in their sport. Many participate in more than one sport. Some Special Olympians have gone on to break records in the non-disabled community. And their stories are incredible. Imagine having difficulty walking, but through grit and determination, winning medals in The Special Olympics. Moreover, imagine becoming the co-captain of your non-disabled track team and running in all-state competitions! Sound impossible? Well, you just never know until you try. And trying is what The Special Olympics are all about.”

Pushing one’s self to the limit… Obama could take a lesson.

  • Benjamin

Barack is proving himself to be handicapped – more than any participant in the Special Olympics. This man is handicapped by his own arrogance and narcissism.

  • candymarl

The best moment I had at the Special Olympics was when a small boy approached me. I was pregnant at the time. He wanted to “feel the baby”. His mother looked horrified.

I just smiled and said it was okay. Still brings tears to my eyes to this day because he was so sweet.

To misquote Rev Wright “G-D Obama”.

  • Adrienne in CA

How ironic would that have been?
    *****A

  • Clara Barton

Who believes his score was 129? He didn’t have anyone but himself there “keeping score”. Without cameras to capture his bowling on video, he’s gonna lie.

  • AF catfish

Beautiful! That is EXACTLY the lesson Obama needs, push himself to the limit. Has he EVER pushed himself to the limit? Without taking three vacations? he doesn’t even know what the limit is.

“It’s clear that no matter how well he runs the country and how well the Obama Recovery works, there are folks who are determined to be unhappy about it.”

how exactly is he running the country well?

so far we have seen nothing but lack of judgment, lack of vetting, lies, cover ups, massive spending, flip flops, dropping DOW, massive debt, major gaffes, embarrassing protocal gaffes, and socialist objectives.

  • Athena the Warrior

Don’t you just love the way the Obots are tripping over themselves to dismiss this? The rest of us are just picking on lil’ Obo and need to stop being so sensitive. After all according to them, he didn’t say what everyone else probably says too.

The irony here is thick like Titanium hull plating.

That’s right. Obama blamed himself if and he said if he didn’t gave Geithner the tool to do his job. What the heck tools is he talking about? Obama is and sounds so foolish. He went to Lene to make a fool of himself and by golly he did it. Now the presidency of the country is diminish even more.

I’m telling you the Russians and the Chinese, the Iranians and the Syrians are going to take advantage of the smirky face that our Idiot in Chief likes to show to everyone.

    - Leno: «That’s very good, Mr. President…»
    - Obama: «It’s like the Special Olympics or something…»…

  • kinthenorthwest

Thats just it Obama spurts out words without thinking. Look at the Irish incident. Obama was reading the Irish Prime ministers words.
Most people think before speaking, especially when you have a position such as the president.
I have to say this guy is doing so much damage to the democratic party and his race that its not even funny anymore.
I have a feeling that even many of the blacks that voted for him are wondering how long it will take for them to get a decent reputation back. Its looking like Obama is going to have more errors than Bush before he is done, speaking wise and administration wise.

  • C.S.

How do we know he went to Columbia? Like everything else in his life, there is no papertrail and he could say he walked on the moon if he didn’t have to prove it.

  • Sassy

    Showboat BO strikes out again!
What can one expect from the ultimate “gutter ball”?
If he were half as dedicated, grateful, loving, and loyal as those in Special Olympics, we could possibly tolerate his term.
He and his team have already sickened me to the point that I give them no charity or understanding!

  • kinthenorthwest

You know that is the one reason Im enjoying Obama getting everyone mad at him. Eventually he will have so many mad at him that someone will start figuring out a way to bring out his paper trail.
Im not sure about you but I have been noticing that little by little the media people who thought he was so invincible are turning on him.

You know, you shouldn’t. The energy supplies to our country could be threatened at any minute and in more ways than one and a president that looks this foolish is not going to be taken seriously. We are talking about diminishing the status of the president to a comic and that threatens our way of life which is based on high energy consumption in exchange for efficiency and productivity.

If the president keeps looking this foolish, our energy supplies are going to be threatened and we may be looking at war situations that would be unthinkable if our president would look mature and in control.

The so called Biden threat could soon become a reality.

  • FLDemFem

    This statement is pure crap…

Russians and the Chinese hate every one of us, sparing none

I have traveled a lot, and actually went to Russia during the Brezhnev years. Americans weren’t, and aren’t, hated by the Russian people. And I doubt the Chinese hate us either, if they did, they wouldn’t be in such a hurry to come and live here.

Diplomacy and international relations are like a cross between chess and tit-for-tat. What matters is the moves and the interesting reactions you can get to the moves. Why do you think the Chinese navy is having its trawlers shadow our mine sweepers? Or the Russians are overflying the Navy when it’s on maneuvers? They wait for the reaction from our administration and then do something else to provoke another reaction based on what the first one was. So far, Obummer hasn’t said anything, which shows weakness and lack of engagement. That is what should worry us, not that the Chinese and the Russians allegedly hate us. We have a fool in the White House who doesn’t have a clue on how to play the game. And the powers that be know it. That is what we should be worried about, not countries full of people hating us. Kumbaya doesn’t work as a foreign policy. The Chinese and the Russians are enjoying this. It’s rare that they get to take a poke at the USA and totally get away with it. Thanks to Obummer, they are 2 for 2 so far. Not a good score for our team. Someone should explain that to the President. Soon.

  • Seriously?

I think all these comments are posted by BUSH lovers because if you think you can name more stupid things barack has said vs bush, you’re obviously not listening. Who cares that he reads off the telepromter…BIG DEAL… he mostly writes whats on there himself, if you actually listen to him, you would know he is quite intelligent. Just because he has a harder time getting the words out when he is not reading from the prompter .. makes him..dumber than Bush? Come on… and he is getting ridiculed for March Madness?!?.. so because his job is president, that means he doesnt even get 20 minutes of down time?!? Give me a break!

And look at all the pathetic, drooling Americans who are only too willing to participate in this narcissitic agenda. All the rest of us get to pay the price and watch in pain as our country is battered by this insanity.

  • alibe

It wasn’t edited out BUT I believe the audio was messed with. I think the audience audio was pumped up louder to try and camoflage 0bama’s remarks. Sort of like how they messed with the Dean Scream. They may have even garbled the word “Special” ever so slightly. I don’t know this for certain, but I was waiting for the gaffe and could hardly make it out over the audience noise and the slightly garbled “special” so that the “Special olympics” barely registered. CURIOUS. Can somebody check this out.

Great post! He hasn’t a clue how to be Pres. so he runs around wasting taxpayer dollars with travel expenses continuing his campaigning. That’s all he knows how to do. If he even read one paragraph of thes massive spending bills he is signing I’d be surprised. He lets his also incompetent underlings try to do the hard stuff and he just looks for a crowd to shout his name in adoration. It’s all he knows. I still have a bit of concern this is all a planned game, but the stupider he is the more I doubt there is a hidden agenda other than getting re-elected. In the meantime, we suffer his for his cluelessness.

  • Ginger

HE IS PRESIDENT OF THE USA! Sorry for shouting but you cannot excuse that kind of little verbal mistake as you put it, coming from someone who is supposed to know better due to his job classification. The strange thing is that they rammed though this bill. It was passed on a late Friday evening. It couldn’t be read because it was such an emergency. So much an emergency that Obama had to fly to Colorado on TUESDAY to sign it. 5 days later. Why couldn’t it have been passed on Tuesday and signed Tuesday. Giving Congress enough time to read it….Oh yea, they couldn’t have people read it or things would have been exposed.
    Special Prosecutor time!!!!!!!

And there are probably a lot of Special Olympians that can bowl better than him. I know my brother can.

He just needs to give up the whole “regular guy” act. There is nothing “regular” about him at all. If he weren’t into politics and community organizing, he might not even be able to hold a real middle class job somewhere. What if he tried to be a practicing attorney? Anybody think he could really do it?

  • http://americanpumainitaly.blogspot.com/ American Girl in Italy

Not to beat this one to death, but it appears that President Obama’s high bowling score of 129 wouldn’t get him a medal in the Special Olympics.

According to a quick scan of Google results, one well-known Special Olympian, Loretta Claiborne, reportedly bowled a high of 178 in 1995. Rachel Register of Virginia bowled a 212 in 2006. Team Kentucky’s top bowler, Keith Cotrell, boasts a 150 average.

Tim Shriver also noted on GMA this morning that a Detroit Special Olympian has bowled three perfect games.

“Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in my attempt.”

That sounds like Hillary’s campaign. Even when she knew the race was fixed, she still kept on fighting. The nomination race was fixed and she had that as her handicap in the race for the nomination. And she was very brave in her attempt. Just sayin’.

  • FLDemFem

He would be Herb from “WKRP in Cincinnati”. He would sell ad time on radio and TV stations by schmoozing people over long lunches and then go back to the office and toss the paperwork to his assistant. Herb Tarlek in a better suit, that’s what we have in the White House. Sad, isn’t it?

  • Docelder

It is beyond sad. What I mean also is could he work at an everyday job 51 weeks of the year to have a weeks vacation? Could he actually be a trial lawyer? Can he think on his feet enough to do that? We certainly haven’t seen anything that resembles a work ethic or a work horse.

  • politicalidentitycrisis

    OMFG!!!

Mohammad Hassan Khani, assistant professor of international relations at Tehran’s Imam Sadiq University, described Obama’s message as a positive gesture but noted it came only a week after the extension of U.S. economic sanctions.

“This is somehow conflicting and making people here confused,” he said.

Yes, well, he makes a lot of people confused, including me. I just hope he doesn’t confused the wrong person one day.

Obama with his foolishness is risking your ability to make a living and feed your family. Don’t fool yourself with Obama’s foolishness. This world is mighty serious about what they have to offer and they are not going to allow Obama to hoodwink them. Things may get out of Obama’s funny grimaces reach. The world is a damn serious place where millions and billions can be let to starve to death without a thought. You too.

If you look into early 20th C history, the Democrat party (ie early to mid progressive movement) has always had an antipathy toward the ill and the mentally ill (peddling sterilization projects and eugenics projects wherever possible)…not to mention non whites (eg. M. Sanger peddling abortion for the blacks and dirty whites to wipe them out). So to me this is really NO REAL SURPISE…Oboobi disdains women, children, and the “challenged”….but most of all he/they hate the constitution.

I beg all of you to PLEASE read “Liberal Fascism” by J. Goldberg…it is the most important book you’ll ever read. It is very well referenced and decently written…the facts are jaw dropping.

It is not an attack on classical liberalism or necessarilly of the whole Democrat party (the Republicans are less but also involved–especially many of the ultra religious ones) but rather description of the origins and tyrrany of the radical progressive movement…both religious (BUSH) and atheist (Obama).

    http://www.amazon.com/Liberal-Fascism-American-Mussolini-Politics/dp/0385511841

PS: I’ve been studying world history seriously for 15 years now; reading dozens of great compendiums and several biographies. In doing so, I always suspected there was something fuzzy and inadequate when it came to an explanation of sudden the philosophical and political trends that led to WW1 and the rise in true fascism and WW2. Equally fuzzy and inadequate were the explanations of the shifts and deviations in philosophies of the two US political Parties at the turn of the century and beyond.

While something always seemed to be left unsaid, “Liberal Fascism” finally states/explains what I’ve been surmising after many years of study but not been able to sythesize cogently until now…..Please read it! If you don’t, you’ll continue to be seriously intellectually stunted and unable to discern the true threats to your freedoms and country.

  • pjh

Isn’t it nice we could pay for his little trip to be on the Tonight Show? Watching the clip of President Obama mocking Special Olympics was worst than I was expecting listening to the media. The guy is laughing as he says it.

  • Docelder

I wonder what “That One’s” favorite t.v. show is… I am thinking “Jackass”. There is an angry “middle school kid” under that persona.

  • Docelder

On second thought, the favorite would be any video clip of himself… then the next favorite would be “Jackass”.

  • FLDemFem

Well, they now have a chance to show Obummer just how good they are. He not only called Tim Shriver and apologized, he invited some of the Special Olympics athletes to the White House to bowl and play basketball with him. Seriously.

On his way back to Washington on Air Force One, Obama called the chairman of the Special Olympics, Tim Shriver, to say he was sorry — even before the taped program aired late Thursday night.

“He expressed his disappointment and he apologized in a way that was very moving. He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population,” Shriver said Friday on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” Obama, Shriver said, wants to have some Special Olympic athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball.

Well, we know they can beat him at bowling, so let’s see if they can beat him at basketball. Heh.

  • tek

Larry: Thanks for this. It is sad the contrast between Obama’s attitudes and Palin’s on “special” people. Will Ferrell’s HBO special was a hoot. The saddest section in the comedy, however, was where George W. Bush said “You’d think I’d keep a special eye on New Orleans after Katrina, but hey, the American people have a short attention span. They keep supporting me.”

Now the American people are supporting another clown. Seriously, Obama and everyone in the federal government should be looking for ways to cut out “perks” instead of bragging about them. Obama just can’t help himself. That’s why he ran for prez. He should shut down that bowling alley and turn it into a homeless shelter or a soup kitchen or something. I hope the Democrats who are opposing his big spending spree get traction in Congress.

  • Hope Change and Unicorns

What is the trip with these bots? They constantly compare him to great men JFK, Lincoln, and FDR in Ziggy’s case. but they are still obsessed with Bush.

  • NoTrollZone

Obama’s just an asshole. It just comes down to that.
And a stupid asshole as well.
Those people who compete in the special olympics rise to heights of strength and endurance equal to any other olympian. Obama rises to nothing but being a stupid asshole.

  • deke

The trouble with your stupid comment is it is not about the party. This is what got us to this position loyalty to a party we all saw that in the previous administration. Obama doesn’t have any principles beyond rewarding his faithful followers and reaping the rewards for his fraudulent administration. Only when this country and fools like you realize it isn’t about the party but rather the country. 9000 earmarks in a spending bill is not economic stimulus but a sign of raping the treasury to reward your followers and consolidate your base of power.

Fedup: I read that he’s the only president in the history of the country to go on the Tonight Show or any late night talk show. Y’know, it’s one thing to go on Saturday Night Live when you’ve left office or you’re a candidate, it’s totally inappropriate for the leader of the free world. I guess Obama has to get out and cater to his “youth” supporters. I’m sick of the Celebrity President who’s starring in Amateur Hour at the WH.

There is no such thing as “liberal facism.” Liberal philosophies can lead to totalitarianism–the most extreme left position. Conservative philosophies can lead to facism–the most extreme right position. They are different political terms and systems. I have a PhD in American and European history. The works you refer to are examples of demonization of political terminology for the purpose of misleading the general public. There is as much danger on the right as on the left. Americans need to wake up and stop allowing themselves to be misled by their very partisan politics. It’s the thing that keeps the Powers That Be in dominance over The People.

  • barry bums a ciggie

You know what, I don’t want a cool president, I want a leader who shows me that he has the smarts, sensitivity and nerve to take on the tasks of the presidency! Calling a reporter sweetie, comparing failing banks to suicidal bombers, saying his low score is like being in the special olympics, posting his NCAA final 4 as the first page on his presidential website instead of the administration response to the AIG debacle, etc? What an ass!

Yesterday I was so angry at the democratic party leadership and elected democrats. We worked so hard and supported democrats to regain power and when it was obvious that democrats would win everything they betrayed us and foisted this Obomination on us. What an opportunity we have lost because of their self serving actions.

Embolden as the party in power, they have come right out in the open with their lies and corruption and nose thumbing at the American people. If they all met in one place they still couldn’t scrape up one brain cell amoung them. It is a three ring circus and would be funny if it were no so sad.

Surely the Republicans will regain the majority in 2010. The comfort I find in that is that, with any luck, Pelosi, Reid, Kerry, McCullum, Klobuchar, Dodd, Waters and Rangle among others will be gone.

After seeing Sarah Palin just now I am comforted. If she wins the Republican nomination I know she will win the presidency and we will finally will have an honest person occupying the WH.
What a wonderful woman she is.

  • tek

HopeChange: it’s just like when Bush got in the WH and everyday for 8 years he kept blaming every problem he faced on Bill Clinton, even after Clinton had been out of office for years. Right now, the Republicans are blaming the ENTIRE recession on Bill Clinton. But, if you love your party more than your country, I guess it’s a good strategy.

  • Mercedes

Maybe Obama is sorry he insulted Special Olympics participants; he should be. But I have to wonder if he isn’t even more sorry he insulted the Kennedys. Tim Shriver is Kennedy’s nephew or some close relative. This is where Obama’s crowd control and propaganda techniques prove indispensable. It’s going to wear pretty thin after a while though. The guy can’t even read from a teleprompter and doesn’t even know what city he is in half the time. Can’t someone talk him into resigning for medical reasons.

  • beachnan

“liberal fascism” was not coined by Goldberg but by HG Wells, a progressive massiah.

It was Wells vision for the USA as he praised and yearned for Mussolini’s (an self-avowed socialist to his death) and Stalin’s (communists) wonderful totalitarian regimes openly. He considered them wonderful human experiments with a great future. Hitler was another atheist progressive socialist as well and was also much admired by many western (and american)intellectuals and academics progressives before attacking Poland and CZ. All progressives (religious or atheist) agree upon the promise of eugenics for the future management of the masses….who do you think were running the “Eugenics Ministries” throughout the western (including the UK and the US) world before Hitler came to the scene? Don’t believe me? Look up the references given by Goldberg and check for yourself. Even McCarthy ran as a “progressive”.

Classical Liberals, the Republican Party and many Catholics hated these programs and the “progressive” tyrrany early on since they strongly believed in the power of the “individual” and the sacredness of the constitution. Of course they were villified by being called “conservative”, “backward”, “mentally ill”, “inflexible” and later “fascists” by the progressives and continue to do so until this day.

Please look it up before you argue with me on this point because your arguments come from ignorance and are totally useless…I did looked up many things myself in disbelief…and Goldberg is always right.

  • Objective Analysis

Must be fun. Enjoy the next 3.5 (at least!) years.

  • Mike

No, they didn’t. Obama made a comment that McCain had “lost his bearings” on a certain issue, which if you know what bearings mean is not related to old age, but it means that someone has lost their direction. The anti-Obama people turned it into an “ageism” slur, because they apparently didn’t know the term. There was no “attack” from Obama’s campaign against “old people”

  • Mike

McCain CAN use a computer just fine. Some journalist advanced the notion that he couldn’t, but that is simply incorrect, as stated by McCain himself.

The issue was that McCain had stated he CHOSE to not use a computer, as if it was a positive that not being familiar with modern computers. THAT was the issue, not that McCain could not literally push the keys on the keyboard, which he can.

It’s amazing to see so many falsehoods in one place, I’ve never read this site before but judging by this one comments section, the ignorance is at startling levels.

  • Donna Brazile

Also you forgot, “Let me be clear.”

    Stop the lovefest

    You’re kidding me, right?

Palin cares so much for Special needs kids that she’s forgoing $160 million dollars that would assist her state in dealing with said kids and their needs.

  • Rah-Rah

You are so completely full of shit. I would NEVER have had that thought – even though you clearly would – and neither would anyone that I care about.

You are an ass. My second cousin has severe Downs Syndrome. But even if he didn’t, I would still be appalled at our President’s lack of regard.

I am sickened to death by apologists like yourself who reside in my own Party.

Many PUMA-Pac members are donating to Special Olympics, some in honor of Sarah Palin and family. Here is the website address if anyone feels so inclined to do today especially:

    http://www.specialolympics.org/ways to give.aspx

(Larry, I hope this is ok. If not, please, edit/scrub)

  • Mike

    Yeah, I actually was. :D

I can see how it is demeaning. But most of all it’s just not funny.

I agree Obama is just not good “off the cuff”. He also REALLY needs to get cracking on removing all those “uh” from when he’s talking. Without them, his sentences are usually fairly meaningful and coherent, but listening to him with all those “uh”s is embarrassing.

  • Diana

Mike the damage is done. The only people that feel the way you do are people who have ZERO empathy for their fellow human being. You’re not making it better for Obama, you’re making it worse. He made a disgusting comment that poked fun at people with special needs. It was not funny and he should apologize.

Thank you Larry for posting the video. Trig is a beautiful baby! I think he looks a lot like his mama. He’s very blessed to have been born into a family with such compassion, that doesn’t understand the word limitations. I’m sure he’ll be given every opportunity to shine. Sarah has a lot of class, something we don’t see very often in our politicians these days. I would have loved to see her and Hillary set politics aside and ran together for the American people.

  • barry bums a ciggie

Maybe there are strings attached to that money. Try giving the full story about the rejection of that money instead of saying she is forgoing the cash because she doesn’t care. Do you honestly think that a parent with a special needs child would turn the other way? Obviously you are not a parent. To even insinuate that she doesn’t care about special needs children when she has one of her own is beyond stupid. Sheesh.

The Dem Congress better make it a law, a liberal left wing law to require Obama to use a teleprompter from now on at all times, no exceptions whatsoever.

It is funny that you try to compare Obama to Palin on special needs kids. Here is the real comparison, from Anchorage Daily News:

“The biggest single chunk of money that Palin is turning down is about $170 million for education, including money that would go for programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students. Anchorage School Superintendent Carol Comeau said she is “shocked and very disappointed” that Palin would reject the schools money. She said it could be used for job preservation, teacher training, and helping kids who need it.”

******BREAKING NEWS******NQ should be interested in today’s Tribune story:

Chicago pension probe: City inspector targets ties to Mayor Richard Daley

Millions were invested with DV Urban Realty Partners, a firm formed by a top Daley ally Allison Davis and Daley nephew Robert Vanecko

City Hall’s inspector general has begun investigating how at least three city pension funds came to make investments with a firm co-owned by a nephew of Mayor Richard Daley, the Tribune has learned.

The office of Inspector General David Hoffman has subpoenaed records from the pension funds dealing with their investments of tens of millions of dollars in DV Urban Realty Partners, a real estate investment firm formed by a top Daley ally, Allison Davis, and Daley nephew Robert Vanecko.

The inspector general requested records on those investments from the funds for municipal employees, police and laborers, according to a source. The pension funds have paid the investment group hundreds of thousands of dollars in management or consulting fees.

Hoffman’s investigators are seeking details on the property DV Urban Realty acquired using the pension funds’ money, according to a subpoena obtained by the Tribune.

Davis and Vanecko began DV Urban Realty to do development projects in neglected areas.

Police pension fund executive director John Gallagher said that DV Urban Realty so far had drawn $5 million on the fund’s original $15 million commitment; as of the end of last year, that $5 million investment was valued at $3.5 million. He declined further comment.

Rezko is a central figure in Chicago politics with ties to Blago, Obama and Daley. He also looted pension funds to make bad investments. Obama also loots social security/public funds to give to financial criminals who make bad investments/bad banks. It’s the Chicago way.

This President of the United States who can afford to make jokes about the Disabled is the same one who was so racially thin-skinned that his militants were watching every word that came out of anyone’s mouth or typewriter. So it’s okay, what he did, but it’s never, never okay to bring up race?
Do we have the pot calling the kettle – never mind.

  • mamatx

AMEN! I thought I was the only person who is getting tired of watching Obama preen for the cameras 24/7. The adoring and mindless BOTs are still enamored, of course–until they realize that the messiah has run out of other people’s money to fill their gas tanks and pay their mortgages.

  • termo

As far as his crack about “Special Olympics” what do you expect from a sophomoric punk who never had any responsibility in 48 years.

I worked in a company that had zero tolerance when it came to bigotry of any kind. Even if you made an ethnic joke to someone you knew and did so in good humor, you would be fired with no severance. POTUS should be bo different.

I would not accept his apology – only his resignation.

  • Mike

“He’s very blessed to have been born into a family with such compassion, that doesn’t understand the word limitations.”

There are probably LOTS of words the Palins don’t understand… (that was such a softball I couldn’t resist :D ).

Jesus, is it a posting requirement to have a sub-80 IQ around here?

NO ONE is justifying what he did. He realized, admitted, and apologized for the remark. You have to be pretty thick to think this was some sort of attack on the mentally disabled rather than an attempt at self-deprecating humor gone awry.

My God, one harmless offhand remark (and yes it was harmless, despite all the overreaction) and that provokes this avalanche of bile? Not even possible. This is a clear case of bitter Hillaroids who absolutely will not get over their sense of entitlement, just waiting for an excuse to unload. So he makes one passing remark and he’s a bigot, heartless, the dumbest person alive, rigged and stole the nomination, arrogant, blah blah and blah. His policies are infinately more compassionate than anything Bush ever dreamed, and very close to Hillary’s. He beat Hillary fair and square, but her entitled supporters cannot accept any unpleasant truth so they convince themselves that it was perfectly fine for her to agree that the results of the too-early-and-contrary-to-party-rules primaries in Florida and Michigan would not count, then change her mind and become indignant when her high name recognition gave her the edge. I was there for the DNC rules committee meeting last May 31, and the cynical behavior of Harold Ickes was enough to make any decent person heave. The Florida and Michigan party organizations worked out compromises that they deemed fair, but because they did not simply hand everything to Hillary, the wounded cry goes up. Oh spare me. Obama out-organized the Clintons, and ran a smooth and drama-free campaign operation in contrast to the constant internal squabbles in the Clinton campaign, which expected to lock up the nomination by Super Tuesday. But aside from all that, if the diehard PUMAs were as numerous as this comments board suggests, Obama would have lost on November 4. Instead he won an historic victory, with the highest vote percentage of any Democrat except Andrew Jackson and LBJ, turned several red states blue, and redrew the political map. You can insult him all you like, but he has seized the national agenda in a way that Bill Clinton hardly even tried, and connects with the public and keeps his cool. Anyone who, no matter how mad they are, could bring themselves to say that Sarah Palin is more presidential, should be embarrassed. Ultimately, you petty people harm yourselves more with all your bitterness than you harm Obama. “Barky?” Is that clever? Sheesh.

  • Mike Jones

Yes, I would. Because that’s genuinely funny.

  • termo

Next time the POTUS (Punk of the U.S.) feels the need to use self-deprecating humor let him use references to African Americans – not people with special needs.

  • Dana in NYC

Palin and her stance on stimulus money. Draw your own conclusions.

The biggest single chunk of money Palin is turning down is about $170 million for education, including money that would go for programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students.

    Ding, ding, ding.

  • Tess

It’s funny, watching the troll activity. Now you KNOW the O is really in trouble. Again.

  • realistic_optimist

As someone with a sister who has Downs Syndrome, I was taken aback by Obama’s comment. However, I’m quite certain everybody’s said really stupid things from time to time. This nugget I just found regarding Palin’s refusal of 31% of the stimulus money really speaks volumes about where her priorities are:

“The biggest single chunk of money that Palin is turning down is about $170 million for education, including money that would go for programs to help economically disadvantaged and special needs students. Anchorage School Superintendent Carol Comeau said she is “shocked and very disappointed” that Palin would reject the schools money. She said it could be used for job preservation, teacher training, and helping kids who need it.”

So, whereas Obama said something stupid, Palin does something stupid.

  • jbjd

Yes, okay, I hear you, but the President of the United States of America still appeared on a late night comedy show on broadcast television and derided athletes who participate in the Special Olympics.

  • UM

While helping the economically disadvantaged students is noble in and of itself, the point of the stimulus is – to stimulate the economy. How are the programs for disadvantaged children going to do that?

  • WMCB

Give it up. Palin has clearly stated her strings attached” reasons for turning down the money, and Alaska, unlike about 46 other states, has a BUDGET SURPLUS.

So I think she is running her state just fine without your help, thanks. I know that not greedily sucking off the federal tit when it’s not necessary may be a foreign concept to you, but it rings a little hollow when the state she runs is doing better economically than almost any other state in the union.

  • sandi78

Tess, just what I was thinking!

  • Mike Jones

Ostensibly because they’d be hiring teachers and stuff…

Education, along with health care, is one of the only sectors of the economy that hasn’t bottomed out during the recession. It makes sense to make investments there.

  • JozefAL

As Wells was a subject of the British crown, what’s the big deal with his “vision for the USA”? It’s not like he really could do anything about it.
As for his praise for Mussolini and Stalin, that’s incredibly laughable on its face. Mussolini was a STAUNCH anti-Communist (and was also very much a corporatist at heart–look up the facts, instead of relying on Goldberg’s own piece of fiction for information). As to Stalin, Wells did write favorably of Stalin–AT FIRST. However, he quickly revised his opinion of Stalin. (Oh, and for the record, Stalin’s youth was spent studying for the Orthodox priesthood, so that may actually give some insight into his own dictatorial views, as both the Catholic and Orthodox religious hierarchies are every bit as dictatorial as anything Hitler or Stalin could envision.)
As for the “Goldberg is always right” comment, even a stopped clock is right at least twice a day. Goldberg is only “always right” to people who rely on Jonah’s “research” and take it to heart.

  • andrew191

“…raping the treasury to reward your followers and consolidate your power base.”

Sounds EXACTLY like a Democrat to me!

  • sandi78

Yes, it does, but not in a stimulus bill. If it’s important, and it is, then it can have its own bill.

  • Mike Jones

You know, NOT sucking off the federal tit might be a foreign concept for Palin.
GOP vice presidential candidate Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin touts her record as a reformer who worked to end the “abuses of earmark spending in Congress.” But Palin has embraced earmarks from early on in her career as a mayor of Wasilla to the governor’s mansion in Juneau. Just this year she sent to Sen. Ted. Stevens a proposal for 31 earmarks totaling $197 million — more, per person, than any other state.
You were saying?

  • UM

Did you see read what the super said – “job training”, “helping kids in needs” are some of programs the money will be used for. Does not seem like “stimulating” the economy. More like a drain (like the resort conferences of the AIG execs).

  • Mike Jones

Actually, the intent, which should be obvious for everyone who isn’t still bitter that HRC lost, was to deride his own bowling skills.

  • rickrickrick

blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Good lord give it a break. You wasted all that space defending a president who is absolutely clueless. He needs to get off the campaign trail, lock himself in his office annd treat the broken economy like a war. He ran for president knowing full well what the job entails. Stop with the oh’ I inherited this mess, and bring some cofidence to the table. And yes I want him to succeed. I want our economy to be strong and I don’t want job loss to be the change people feel.

On the other hand, the National Federation of Independent Business in Alaska says they support the governor’s decision.

“We agree with the governor not taking money because the requirement in the federal law is that the changes in our programs would have to be permanent despite the fact that the money is only temporary,” said Denny Dewitt with NFIB.

  • dave

When Johnson is espousing the Presidential qualities of that liar Palin over ANYONE with a pulse then it’s obvious that the anger and hatred have superseded ANY semblance of fairness and objectivity.

What a treat…knowing that such types stew in their vindictiveness day in and day out. No matter how bad my day goes, i know i could be worse off.

  • Don

Heck, we might even want to go so far as to put something into the US Constitution about eligibility to be POTUS about being an American who truly repects US, represents US and speaks for the US. That way we could be assured that the POTUS’s loyalty is to the US and not splintered loyalty to several different factions etc.

Oops sorry, guess there is something somewhat like that already in there.

Well then, maybe we could raise such an out cry that it would cause our MSM to question our candidates and demand they indeed show us who they are. You know like showing us documents proving who they are (maybe citizenship papers, adoption records, passport records, etc. would be considered some significant documents) and what they supposedly have done (you know like transcripts from colleges attended, degrees received, special academic honors achieved, etc might be considered). Oh sorry, I was thinking of the old MSM doing its job not our current MSM that trumpets its favorite from sun up to sun down.

Agree with the idea of tests, however those that are currently supposedly demanded, i.e., eligibility and medical, have been allowed to watered down and slip by without enforcement by the MSM why would any other substantive tests be demanded by it?

  • Mike Jones

I think you can make that argument about many of the provisions in the stimulus.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte LaRue

Thanks for the heads-up on this story – Donna Darko

  • Mike Jones

    Yet somehow, he remains popular.

Let us know when you plan on rejoining the same reality the rest of us reside in.

  • I’mFedUp

Governor Palin is honest and has integrity. She is one of the Governors who is turning down stimulus money because of the strings attached and Constitutional issues. Maybe the Obots sent here to trash Palin can read the Constitution some day? She’s not the only one turning down the money, and apparently Obama is having a meeting today with the concerned Governors, including Palin. So the trashing Palin is only backfiring on the Bots yet again.

There are 33 states now apparently attempting to assert sovereignty under the 10th Amendment as well. This is America. I can’t believe people thought decent, intelligent, hard working citizens would go quietly into Obama’s commie disaster of a “plan” to destroy us. Good luck with that, Obots. In the meantime, you should get used to the fact that your fraudulent boss is a one-termer, if that.

Budget: Red ink far as the eye can see

President Barack Obama’s new budget will produce a string of annual deficits averaging in excess of $926 billion annually over the next 10 years and add dramatically to the national debt, according to new estimates released Friday by the Congressional Budget Office

  • jbjd

Your statements confuse me. In your first paragraph, you referred to monies allocated under the massive federal stimulus bill. Then, you refer to funds earmarked from the feds to state education programs for special needs students. Watching Governor Palin’s explanation as to which funds she would accept now for her state, I understood her to say, she was only willing to incur generational debt for funds allocated to capital improvement projects that would increase employment immediately. Are you saying that, you not only agree the federal economic stimulus bill should have been a catchall bill that included such categories as state education programs, almost like a federal budget bill; but also rejecting stimulus money earmarked for state education programs that raise the federal debt and will require payback from successive generations is stupid?

  • Boxer Mum 06

  • I’mFedUp

PS…For the Obots who can never quite get their lies and Palin bashing correct…Palin has said that she will use STATE’S FUNDS to contribute to education, particularly for those with special needs. Since she is operating with a budget surplus (as opposed to Obama who keeps racking up reckless, unnecessary debt) then she can do that. Her point with the stimulus money is that she will take it for construction projects, but not for education. She feels that it is only expanding government (read between the lines, Pelosi and Obama’s commie agenda) and she doesn’t want it. I say that makes her a real hero and a true American. So, Obots, move along to the next job please.

  • Don

AS far as Palin not taking money, the same thing here in Texas…

I do not support our Governor Perry in Texas, but I completely understand why he did not take certain funds:

They would require changing Texas laws on who is qualified for various programs in perpetuity. Texas businesses and citizens would end up eating this *required change* in order to receive the funds for decades to come.

It was a smart choice for Palin – and, I can’t believe I’m giving kudos to a Republican – but a good decision for Texas by Governor Perry.

In my opinion, Obama has taken ALL of the long STATED Democrat goals and put them on steroids.

What has always struck me as rank hypocrisy with the D. party is that their actions have usually been in stark contrast with their lofty rhetoric.

You may despise Obama because he used disgusting and thuggish tactics to steal the nomination from Hillary, but that does not diminish his stature as a perfect representation of the Democrat party, it enhances it.

Perhaps all of you who have taken exception to my observation that Obama is the definition of a Democrat, have a different picture in your minds of what a Democrat is than I do, so it’s simply a matter of differing political perceptions. Maybe Obama has given you an epiphany regarding the standard Democrat Party platform, and you should re-examine the whole party. However, as a lifelong Conservative, Obama appears no less to me than the Paragon of the Democrat Party; the culmination of decades of constant leftward drift.

  • I’mFedUp

Mike, your pathetic band of criminals are going to get a big shock in 2010 and 2012. I don’t want to insult the handicap, the disabled, so I’m going to say that Obama’s intelligence is in the negative, his followers intelligence is off the number line. He and his followers don’t even know what the number line is.

Yeah, go ahead and hang onto those thoughts. You’ll need to deny or ignore that many current Obama supporters favored Clinton during the primaries and are happy to see her occupying one of the most important positions in the current administration, of course. You’ll also need to ignore the fact that Palin has taken more post-election criticism from other republicans than from democrats, and that Bobby Jindal’s harshest recent criticism has come from other republicans. Rush Limbaugh’s angry tirade against the wave of republican anti-Jindal sentiment would seem to prove the point.

  • oowawa

Obama chose Geithner as the tool that would best do the job as Secretary of the Treasury. If O chose the wrong tool to do the job, it is his own fault for making the wrong selection. I believe that the head mechanic is responsible for filling his toolbox with the correct tools. You need the correct tool to do the job. My God, I’m sounding like a tooltime version of Chance Gardener (Being There).

Did I say Mussolini was a communist?…No! But both were collectivists or leftists if you like. Both, as well as Hitler, had disdain/hatred for christianity (but not islam of course because muslim were still useful to their goal in breaking europe)…all were eargerly trying to implement their notion of collectivist eutopia on earth and the center which was an all-knowing/seeing/doing Government. All were statists and fanatics in trying to control science and industry for their purposes. Their disdain for capitalism, individualism, legislatures, and freedom is legendary. Most of this is quite well known…so what’s your problem? Or did you not know this?

They just had different approaches to collectivism and progressivism based on the newest fads in science…some were populist (Musso), some nationalist (Hitler), some internationalist (stalin), and all just plain ol’ nuts (all).

Perhaps you also didn’t know that the notion of the left to right spectrum in politics was created promoted by the collectivists to put free thinking people into a labeled box (eg calling them right wing, fascist, conservative) in order to vilify them and distance themselves from the attrocities of WW2. In fact THIS SPECTRUM IS A FABRICATION AND MOST OF ALL IT FAILS TERRIBLY IN DESCRIBING ALL TRUE POLITICAL PHILOSOPHIES/SCHOOLS.

Please spare me your lectures which are founded on nothing but you uneducated opinion and 80+ years of brainwashing….read the book and research its claims…then criticize all you want. Good intellectuals don’t criticize things they don’t know anything about.

RE: HG Wells being from UK….I guess you never stopped to consider that America has been inspiring western thought since its discovery in 1492…america actually trigger this whole notion and quest for Eutopia on earth…and spurred enormous ground breaking works on the notion of freedom, individualism, and democracy, personal responsibility, as well as collectivist ideas. These were non existant before that time. So go on an be funny all you like and go ahead and believe that european and american intellectuals had no contact and influence on each other and our western culture/politics/academia…but you only appear silly. Just read the book.

  • Athena the Warrior

It’s called “economic stimulus” Nina try to keep up. Educational programs should and will be taken care of by state funds not with strings attached, federal funds. Construction and energy jobs would qualify under economic stimulus.

Honestly, I don’t expect the President of the United States to be checking the format of DVDs that he is giving as a gift, but I would expect that he have an aide intelligent enough to know that there is a difference between American and European formatting.

Seems to basic, and yet it was completely overlooked.

The word that comes to mind when I think of Obama, his administration, and ancillary team is “SLOPPY.”

  • Snowman

Well, Sarah Palin’s refusal to accept about a third of the economic stimulus money for Alaska will severely impact special education in her state.

Huggin’ babies is one thing, slashing $170 million from education shows her real values.

  • Von Cracker

Where’s that coming from? Your cut & paste Notepad file of ‘slams’? LOL!

With all respect to your comments and Goldberg’s book–I don’t think you even have to have an 8th grade education to understand that BO used the hope and change crap to get elcted and voted for TARP, THEN signed the trillion dollar stimulus bill, put a tax cheat in charge of the IRS, said there are no earmarks as he was signing a bill with 9,000 of them, can’t speak without a teleprompter without insulting a whole group of people, and whose school records have never been released even though his opponents John McCains and Sarah Palin’s were. As I’ve said if this is change and hope give me the status quo and despair.

  • I’mFedUp

Wow the Obutts are out in full force today. Right after Odumbo made a complete worldwide ass of himself on Leno. Coincidence? I think not.

By the way, Obutts, please do some reading. For the last time, Palin will fund education projects from her STATE FUNDS and doesn’t want to be part of Der Fuhrer’s Socialist agenda. Period.

  • ziggy

Have you ever considered what level of maturity might be suggested by responding to every disliked opinion with a barrage of personalized attacks and insults?

Obama has no regard for special needs children–he insults them on television with an unfortunate comment directed at his own apparent artlessness with a bowling ball–yet he promoted SCHIP legislation, proudly signed it into law, and has always supported legistlation on behalf of special needs children.

Palin is unusually sensitive to those having special needs–yet she has recently declined to accept federal money that would directly fund the programs that support them. She turned down $34 million specifically intended to fund Special Ed. Add to that the fact that during her time as governor, she’s cut school funding for special needs programs by 62%. (By the way, she is accepting federal stimulus package money for capital projects. She has specifically requested it.)

So, go ahead and insult me for pointing out that there seems to be some degree of inconsistency here. See it it will make the inconsistency go away.

  • http://americanpumainitaly.blogspot.com/ American Girl in Italy

Does Alaska NEED stimulus money to make those projects happen?

Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.

  • ziggy

Palin turned down $170 million of stimulus package money intended for Alaska schools–$34 million of which was specifically designated for Alaska’s Special Education programs.

If you think state money will make up the difference, forget about it. So far as governor Sarah Palin has already cut state funding of school Special Needs programs by 62%.

HOWEVER, she has happily accepted a bundle of federal stimulus package money for capital investments.

It seems like her principles weaken when it comes to taking federal money for business expansion.

    Sliming Palin
    September 8, 2008
    Updated: September 9, 2008

False Internet claims and rumors fly about McCain’s running mate.

    Summary

We’ve been flooded for the past few days with queries about dubious Internet postings and mass e-mail messages making claims about McCain’s running mate, Gov. Palin. We find that many are completely false, or misleading.

    * Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she increased funding and signed a bill that will triple per-pupil funding over three years for special needs students with high-cost requirements.

  • id

The reason Gov Palin is turning down the money is that it is one year money. It goes away and leaves behind a program that they either look bad cutting or have raise taxes to support. They know the feds can’t add the hundreds of billions into future budgets that it would take to support the programs in year 2, 3, 4, etc.

  • Betty

Was off doing a little work so that I could pay off some more of Obama’s friends.

And I kept thinking about that beautiful film clip of Sarah Palin and son. I wept while I watched it. It is hauntingly beautiful and honest.

If you think of Obama, especially with the look on his face just above the picture of Sarah and baby. And then add Dodd, and Geithner, Pleosi, Reid, the entire deomcratic congress, Silibus, Dashel, Kennedy and Kennedy’s ego (big enough to be listed as a whole nother person), AIG, Acorn, and all the paid “icks” who are selling our country (not so sure it is also their country)down the drain for 50 cents a hour

and compare them with just one Sarah Plain – One thing becomes painfully clear:

The inmates are running the asylum.
The only bright light for the past 2.5 months has been Hillary’s 14 carat gold State Department.

But did you see when he finally ‘got the question,’ a couple of seconds late – he pointed to Jay and said “No, it’s definitely not that…” Then he made those ‘scary’ comments, lowering his head a little and making those hand gestures. Like kids do when they make fun of someone they think isn’t too smart. The only thing missing was the “DUH” coming out of his mouth.

He didn’t “realize”, some marginally smarter person with a conscience in the White House did. Had Obama “realized”, he could have apologized live on national television at the time. But he didn’t do that, because he didn’t think he had said anything wrong. Instead, he made a private phone call from Air Force One. So, he’s either stupid or a coward, or perhaps both.

Truer words were never spoken. I’m guessing 95% of the outraged in here have used the term “retarded” within the last week in an attempt to be funny. Or giggled when it was used by someone else. And will, no doubt, do so again next chance they get.

I just read Larry’s bio. The expertise, intelligence and maturity reflected in his bio certainly doesn’t carry over into his postings.

  • jbjd

(sorry, I was compiling a list of BO’s dramatic primary highlights)

Austan Goolsbee, his economic adviser, meeting secretly with a foreign government to discuss an in-force trade agreement between the two countries and then, when asked, denying such meeting ever took place until the foreign government produced documentary evidence of the meeting…

Defying German Chancellor’s Merkel’s opposition to campaigning at the Brandenberg Gate for several days until denied a permit by the mayor of Berlin, he campaigned at the Victory Column, instead…

  • mamatx

Neither Obama nor his Bots know the difference between campaigning and governing. Not surprising for the Obama since he now finds himself responsible for something for the first time in his life.

BO attempts to divert attention from the trillions of dollars he is stealing from our children and grandchildren by going on Leno. Bots do their part by attacking Palin.

  • jbjd

Frankie, none of us posting on this site is the President of the United States of America.

  • rw

Cheeto eating, key clicking bots are as thick as molasses. Neither the bloggers here, nor the US public at large, represent the highest office of the US. None of them are President, none are ‘leader of the free world.’

Yet, the President of the United States of American, Barack Hussien Obama, goes on late night TV and makes fun of the Special Olympics for the world to see…nice…would like to see him in action in private, to know what he really thinks.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/blog/ Truthteller

I find those comments that are unplanned and unanticipated to be most revealing about a speaker. In other words, he harbors a bias and perhaps an animus against the physically challenged. He can apologize all he wants, but the statement was uttered.

  • http://wiskeytangofoxtrotoscar.blogspot.com/ James

Yes, Ms Palin is the mother of a special needs child but she is fortunate enough not to need any special assistance from the government. She and her husband are well enough off economically that they can support Trig’s needs by their own efforts. Her situation is different from most parents of special needs children. She can literally afford to be an ideological purist.

Ms Palin seems quite capable of rejecting federal funds because of rigid ideological considerations. First it is no skin off her or Trigs nose. Second she has an ideological consideration that trumps any sympathy or empathy she may have for her fellow parents of special needs children. Finally there are political considerations that trump such concerns; she needs to toss red meat to Conservative base of the Republican Party.

Never forget that Palin is a politician and thus always suspect. When any pol grandstands a viewer must always ask “what is the politician getting out of this?” It matters not a whit that the pol is Sara Palin or Barack Obama or John McCain or Our Most Sainted Lady of the Tastefully Appointed Pant-Suit (HRC.) There is always an angle, always a calculation, always an attempt to pander to a group or special interest. One must be especially vigilant when that cohort numbers you as a member, otherwise you (and I) will get played for the suckers we are. Always judge a pol by his or her results nothing else.

I notice a lot of misinformed, uneducated, doltish and frankly execrable Obamabots in the comments thread. Unable to address the statement their President uttered on national television, they are vainly attempting to divert our attention to Sarah Palin and to the stimulus package. Rehearsing talking points, typing nonsense, allowing their fingers to be controlled by a political apparatus that will ultimately abandon them, these interlopers are not conscious of their actions. Perhaps these desperate individuals who can only attain a phantasmatic completion by identifying with a commodified and disembodied image that is nothing more than a bankrupt political promise should explore why they are so many easily duped drones. This, I believe, would be a wiser investment of their time than typing bilge in comments threads at blogs they find disagreeable.

  • I’mFedUp

Zig Zag, Sarah Palin is amazing. Period. She is everything that a politician, woman, human being should be. Unlike the Buffoon in Chief. I can only imagine what a different country this would be had someone like Palin, McCain, etc. with real love for America, been elected. Now we’re stuck with a dyed in the wool, America hating ignoramus who couldn’t care less about us and is on his world publicity tour/campaign, signing generational theft bills, and destroying us.

Maybe before you recite the boorish OButt mantra you can think about the rest of us who didn’t vote for ODumbo because we knew better. And you should actually do your homework on Palin, rather than spread lies about her. I saw her speak several times and she wipes the floor with Mr. TeleTubby.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/blog/ Truthteller

Nothing is new or “changed” in Obama’s world. And he thinks he’s the “American Idol” we’ve all been waiting for. He’s a typical Chicago politician; tell me “who you hang with, and I’ll tell you who you are.”All you have to do is see who his “associates” were. What a sham.

The problem with Obama’s comment is not only that it was grossly insensitive, or that it indicates he looks down on people with disabilities — more than this, it just indicates that Obama is not a well informed human being, He speaks in generalities, passing judgment and making pronouncements about subjects on which he has little real information.

Do you think he had any idea about the fact that there is a Special Olympian who bowled three perfect games? Or what these athletes can really do — or how hard they work to achieve their goals.

His cheap joke (supposedly at his own expense) is, as someone above pointed out, a phony attempt at self-deprecation. Meanwhile it is at someone else’s expense.

The stim was an appropriate governmental response to the situation we find ourselves in. Yes it was a quick and dirty response to the situation. Yes it was far from perfect. Still it was about the best we can expect from political system that is still deeply dysfunctional, shot through with special interest considerations and which is still bitterly partisan and back-stabbing.

  • elise

Andrew, I’m not gonna ask if you voted for Bush two times because I’m pretty sure you did. You’re stuck in the Neanderthal mentality of labels which will send us back to the caves in time if Americans don’t break away from the bonds of servility political parties have so cleverly used to trap us. In spite of your cleverly worded and often entertaining comments, you have tunnel vision. You are a good little Republican preaching party dogma and living in a world where “R” is God and “D” is Satan. I understand. The Democratic Party trapped me for many years because I believed their propaganda, but there is hope. I have freed my mind and the only thing important to me now is Truth and the search for answers. While you and I very probably have different ideas about the obligations of a society to it’s people, I am positive we agree on the principles of real freedom and adherence to the Constitution. Bush wasn’t the first president to exceed the powers granted by the Constitution and Obama won’t be the last. What we need from a leader is pragmatism and common sense. When they are ideologues or too partisan, they may temporally satisfy one side or the other, they are, in reality a danger to everything we really believe about our country. I am a pacifist. I am a social liberal. Those are labels I’ve used in the past to describe my beliefs, but I have a brain and if our country is at war, I support the soldiers in my way and although I believe every American should have equal health care, I’m smart enough to realize prudence is required in the middle of an economic recession. I don’t believe Obama can be labeled as a Democrat because his actions and decisions are always predicated on what is best for Obama and Bush was not a Republican since his agenda reflected the conservatives only to the point of winning the election.

Kind of interesting that so many new bots are coming here to post the exact same thing.
Gearing up for this weekends assignment to get into peoples faces and drown out the cynics and get more people to sign the pledge to St Obama. They are answerring the emails Obama and Plouffe sent out this week In the next few weeks we’ll be asking you to do some of the same things we asked of you during the campaign — talking directly to people in your communities about the President’s ideas for long-term prosperity. But first, start with your own pledge of support, and the support of your friends, family, and neighbors:
We know this fight won’t be easy. But important battles never are. Together, we have the opportunity to shape our country’s future. We believed in the power of people to win an improbable election victory. And we believe in the power of people to drown out the cynics and entrenched interests in Washington to bring lasting, meaningful change we can all be proud we played a role in.

oh my gawd, i checked out that link. did you read those *lies*? ahahahhahahahhahahahha seriously, still laughing here. What PDS!

She lied about asking her daughters to run for office? oooh she better burn in hell for that!

she lied about her use of a teleprompter? what a lying whore!

she lied about her tolerance of gay people? (and I suppose Andrew thinks Obama is a card carrying supporter of gay rights?)

and i notice he never corrected the accusation of lying about the firing of her BIL…

and she *lied* about her pay cut? my god…

yea, Nooooooooo PDS there. What a freak!

Out of these *12 lies* I didn’t find one that was a *lie*.

Obama however, what are we looking at now? About 5012 lies? Let’s ignore all of obama’s lies, and obsess over whether Palin actually gave birth to Trig. LOL.

  • kinthenorthwest

The reason Im mad is really not the idea of what Obama said. Its the idea that is doesnt matter what Obama says or does its ok.
He can make sexist remarks, flip off Hillary, insult England, sit in an Anti-American church for 20 years and the list goes on. Its all ok cause its Obama.
But the minute any of his oponents make flub up even 1% as much as him or even say the word black boy does the crap hit the fan.

Im sorry I wanted to give the guy a chance, if for no other reason than Obama is the President of a country I love dearly. I wanted him to succeed for the sake of America and all the future generations.

Im sorry but in the 3 months he has been in office he has really made America a dirty word around the world and made the list of our enemies longer and longer. Not to mention that we are becoming the laughing stock of World with currency that wont be worth the paper its printed on for very long.

  • WMCB

I was saying “when not necessary”. Learn to read. She evidently has no problem taking Federal funds when it would be beneficial to the state, but can turn it down when it will either be pointless or put the state in a long-term financial bind.

It’s called governing. She seems to do it pretty well.

  • ziggy

Sorry, but I’ve pretty much had it with the republican party. Their behavior and rhetoric since the 2008 elections haven’t given me much cause to change. I can’t think of a single constructive idea they’ve recently put forward. Instead, they seem to have become the voice of negativity.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

Oh the Obots are worried. They scuttle out from underneath their rocks when Biggy O Kool-aid, grand gansta of em all, makes a mistake.

Here that whistling? It’s Biggy O’s ratings crashing to the ground.

Ain’t no amount of swag and mac daddy moves gonna save Biggy O from his self.

  • andrew191

I’m curious about why you felt compelled to lay out your unsolicited socio/political weltanschauung. I’m also curious if you think that I give a rat’s ass.

  • Obama/Clinton in 2012

Yup. We all saw how well a campaign of unrelenting negativity worked for you in the 2008 elections. We’re all fairly shaking in our boots over here at Bot Central…

  • andrew191

Yes, it would be great to put that on a billboard as a perfect example of the failure of public education.

“Only when this country and fools like you realize it isn’t about party but rather the country.” Does that sentence make any sense? It doesn’t seem like a complete thought, and I use the word “thought” cautiously.

  • I’mFedUp

The only negativity, lies, racism and sexism in 2008 came from the fraudulent Obama Campaign and DNC. I can promise you it will be a miracle if Obama makes it to 2012 in the White House, considering his shady past, criminal activity, lies, sleazy, illegitimate associations and cabinet, and that pesky matter of him being born elsewhere. Nevertheless, if we have to suffer four years of his destruction, so be it. You don’t have a minor prayer in hell for 2012. Clearly you Bots don’t read, but have you checked his tanking ratings? They get worse daily.

  • Andy

    Ah… the bliss of ignorance.

  • Chicago Joe

Schmucktard Obama’s postive ratings have gone from +30 to +4 over the past two months. Down 26 points in two months. Keep up the good work, Barry.

  • Frankie

Oh the Obots are worried. They scuttle out from underneath their rocks when Biggy O Kool-aid, grand gansta of em all, makes a mistake.

The comments in here are about 20-1 anti Obama. Just what sort of reality do you live in?

    At 5:45PM i said this:

I’m guessing 95% of the outraged in here have used the term “retarded” within the last week in an attempt to be funny. Or giggled when it was used by someone else. And will, no doubt, do so again next chance they get.

Not 4-1/2 hours later, we get this:

Schmucktard Obama’s postive ratings have gone from +30 to +4 over the past two months.

Now let’s see how long it takes for someone to claim that “schmucktard” was in no way a reference to the term “retard”.

  • Frankie

Im sorry but in the 3 months he has been in office he has really made America a dirty word around the world and made the list of our enemies longer and longer.

I’m sorry, but that’s just dang funny.

  • I’mFedUp

It’s only “funny” for the America hating, brain dead Obots who don’t realize what they have done to our country. Personally, I think it’s just plain “dang” sad.

  • I’mFedUp

Zig Zag…Yeah, I guess having morals, patriotism, love of country, etc. is a really “negative” thing. I don’t care about “party” anymore. That’s why we’re in the hideous spot we’re in. People didn’t pay attention, read, do their homework or research and voted “party.” They didn’t bother reading, so we ended up with the most dangerous Anti-American hater that this country has ever seen making a mockery of us. I would take Bush back tomorrow, over this completely venal animal, and I didn’t vote for Bush in the first place.

  • Frankie

It’s only “funny” for the America hating, brain dead Obots who don’t realize what they have done to our country. Personally, I think it’s just plain “dang” sad.

Oh i’m sorry. I guess i forgot what a beloved beacon of light this country was for the last 8 years.

  • I’mFedUp

Frankie…what in the hell does Bush have to do with this? So, if I follow your logic…Bush trashed America, so let’s vote in someone 10,000 times MORE dangerous, detrimental and destructive so that we can once and for all finish off America? That’s such silly talk.

Bush is gone, and in a very short time we have had the worst “cabinet” full of crooks, a Porkfest that will never help and is nothing but generational theft, one gaffe, mess and hideous act after another…and all you can do is say it’s A-Okay because of Bush? ROFLMAO. Guess that’s why you voted for him. That pesky logic issue.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

    Can’t deal with it, Frankie.

To use a familiar obot tome:

    GET OVER IT!

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

    Can’t deal with it, Frankie?

To use a familiar obot tome:

    GET OVER IT!

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

Frankie and the other bots have to realize that they are now on the defensive.

Yup, the old messiah done messed up.

Biggy O insulted yet another group of Americans.

Please, let’s hope the article about Obama sending a letter to the wrong French President is not true.

PS: Note to MicHELLe: Black satin is for the evening or bedroom.

  • I’mFedUp

I can’t believe the French letter thing. It’s just…wow…I think I’ve heard it all and then it gets worse.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

I know. The professional dembots are singing the old it was Bush’s fault on the media because they have no LOGICAL explanation as to why these idiotic mistakes keep happening.

They have no answer to the problem as to why Obama can’t finish picking his cabinet and to getting Geithner some deputies to help with the treasury department.

Basically, no one is too willing to go down with the SS. Obummer at this point.

No one wants to be connected to Biggy O’s plan for socialism.

We knew it was going to be bad. We just didn’t know how and when.

It’s becomes more evident by the hour.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

Have you noticed that the bots are now doing the “reality” tact.

As if they, the obots, have a grip on reality. Remember the old movie “Dream Team” where the character dressed like a doctor and carried a clipboard and looked very professional? Turns out he’s one of the hospital patients. Every time an obot uses the “What reality do you dwell in” routine it reminds me of that character. The obots are pretending they are sane. Too funny!

    BWWAAHHAAA!

  • I’mFedUp

I thought they were all just doing this because they’re on the ODumbo gravy train/payroll? You mean these people actually BELIEVE the crap they fling here? Wow.

  • MBC

I’m curious why you are so rude?

  • Sabina

No that award is only reserved for someone who is brave enough to accuse him of misogony or point out misogony like Elton John.

  • Obama/Clinton in 2012

The only negativity, lies, racism and sexism in 2008 came from the fraudulent Obama Campaign and DNC.

I’ve been looking at that comment for a while now, trying to decide whether you’re joking, or a total nutcase.

  • I’mFedUp

And I’m looking at your comment thinking that you’ve A) Been living under a rock for two years or B) Are getting paid a penny a post by the Fraud.

  • andrew191

Hmmmmmm, I’m rude? I responded to a person that claimed I have a “Neanderthal mentality”, and “tunnel vision”, and topped it off with the patrinizing catty dig that I’m “a good little Republican preaching party dogma”. I wonder if you consider that rude. I also wonder what MBC stands for, something came to mind immediatly, but I’m not rude or vulgar enough to print it.

  • I’mFedUp

Tsk Tsk Tsk Andrew…Haven’t you LEARNED? The only people allowed to be RUDE in this country are ODumbo and his wandering band of gypsy thieves. Shame on you. Decent people with brains have to be polite, while the garbage and filth in this country can make any racial, disability, etc. slur they want.

  • Jordan

He has hurt many families in America. He needs to say he is sorry in the public, not to an organization.

In addition, someone who claims to have experienced prejudice and stereotypes throughout life, and has written about them in great detail, should be more sensitive and refined from life’s lessons.

Furthermore, Obama claimed he was going to have the world think ‘highly’ of America again. Will this joke help?

For someone who spoke of equality as a creed. Does this joke match that philosophy?

For someone that said he would stand for all people. Does this stand up for those that participate in the special Olympics?

The fact is Obama claimed a higher standard. To much is given, much is required.

Obama has just showed us that ‘yes we can’ destroy what a campaign stands for with a single joke.

During the campaign for the White House in 2008, the media criticized Palin for being ‘common,’ ‘not-polished,’ ‘not-compassionate’ and ‘not presidential.’ However, compare Sarah Palins attitude in this video created three weeks ago for the Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho.

You decide the more ‘presidential’ among them. Watch: http://tinyurl.com/ccz6nj

  • Sabina

You are gisgusting Mike. If Barack had said he bowls like a girl, sad to say that terrible taseteless joke would not even generate any outrage but it should generate as much outrage as this special olympics joke he made.

  • ziggy

I don’t believe republicans possess those things to any greater extent than democrats. It’s interesting to compare the military service history of prominent democrats with that of prominent republicans. Democrats seem to have put on a uniform with far greater frequency. As a ‘Nam vet, I respect that difference.

  • I’mFedUp

Zig Zag…agai, this isn’t partisan. If ODumbo was doing a good job I would applaud him and be happy for my country. Do you not get that it’s about the disaster that has been shoved down our throats?

  • JustMe~~
  • andrew191

I stand rebuked! “Polite” will henceforth be my one word mission statement. And I do so hope that reading this statement hasn’t been an imposition for you. I’ll not be a further bother unless you generously request my most humble input, and I pray that I won’t dissapoint. May I please be excused?

  • I’mFedUp

Andrew…Due to your extraordinary sense of humor, you are excused. Just remember that you are only allowed to be a filthy rude jackass if you are a batcrap crazy, America hating piece of shit.

  • Sabina

Termo you should not stoop to mike jones’s level. he is a jerk.

But Termo had you gone on letterman and made a joke about obama’s ethnicity you would be criticised. However you make sexist jokes and you will be given a free pass. Sexist jokes on any woman, regardless of race, gay or straight, disabled or able-bodied is always given a free pass.

Had Obama said I bowl like a girl, I can assure the laughs from the audience would be harder and louder and it would not even generate any controversy.

  • kinthenorthwest

I was Hillary and then McCain.
But from the day Obama got elected I prayed that he would succeed and trully follow through on all his promises.
Every day I still pray, yet every day I realize that there is nothing that this guy can do but give a half a$$ speech with a teleprompter.

Obama has made me scared for not only my generation but for my grandkids generation, and all future generations to follow.

  • andrew191

Are you truly saying that I’m not allowed to be rude unless I’m a batcrap crazy, America hating piece of shit? Damn, you’ve put me in quite a quandary.

  • andrew191

Socialist, Democrat, besides the spelling, what’s the difference? REALLY! Name one plank on the Democrat platform that isn’t in line with Socialist principle. Just one.

  • elise

Andrew, I know you don’t “give a rat’s ass” about my opinion, but it is the nature of blogs to solicit opinions and I do love Freedom of Speech.

  • elise

Thank you tek for synthesizing exactly what I believe to be true. Unfortunately, I use too many words to make my point.

  • andrew191

Opinions on a specific subject are certainly welcome and drive the debate. Rambling, indulgent, and insipid blathering littered with lackluster insults and fawning self appraisal is a sad waste of time, and quite frankly, weird.

    Freduian Slip

I agree, That One is unconscious.

  • elise

Jonny, I have an entirely different view of The Defining Moment. I agree it is a terrific book, but I don’t see a valid comparison for Obama. The day before he took office, governors of NY, IL and Pa signed orders to close their banks, unemployment was over 25% and militias had already been used by Hoover due to riots all around the country. After FDR’s election, many politicians and important news outlets were calling for him to declare what amounted to a dictatorship and take complete control of the economy. This he refused to do. He had polio at the time, but few people knew the extent of his disability or the almost constant pain he suffered. One of the first orders of his presidency was to declare a bank holiday to avoid further closures while at the same time implementing plans (which he had ready on day one) to put the American people back to work.

“The great British economist John Maynard Keynes was asked by a reporter the previous summer if there were any precedent for what had happened to the world’s economy. He replied yes, it lasted four hundred years and was called the Dark Ages.”

There was no time to improve bowling scores, have parties. The Inaugural itself was minimal and his fireside chats were serious but hopeful.

“That March of 1933, the new president did not have to mobilize aging members of the American Legion under martial law. Franklin Roosevelt mobilized himself and his latent talent for leadership. He found his voice, and his voice defined America. “</b.

If you read the comments carefully on nq and with an open mind, you will see not hatred, but fear of what the future holds for us under the lack of leadership and superficial administration now in charge of our futures. If/when there is improvement in the economy, I will have no trouble giving credit where it is due. He will be president for four years so for better or worse we are stuck with him and our lives depend on his judgment. After six months, if we have not seen improvement, I hope you will reconsider your support for him. The situation was much more desperate in 1933 and within three months things had begun to turn around.

  • elise

One man’s blathering is another woman’s attempt to articulate how divisive partisanship hurts all. And you should know damn well by now, I am not a bot.

  • Ferd Berfle

Rambling, indulgent, and insipid blathering littered with lackluster insults and fawning self appraisal is a sad waste of time, and quite frankly, weird.

So why do you indulge in such every time you post?

As to your remark about Democrats, well I left the party after 32 years because I put country first. It is a shame you bushbots didn’t do the same when you had the opportunity to so do. Dubya was a fraud and That One is just another Dubya and a wholly-owned subsidiary of international big business.

  • Idiocracy08

Who here believes he knows math? I mean according to him, we have 57 states. He also thinks 1965 happened before 1961 (when he was really born).

  • Ferd Berfle

The issue was that McCain had stated he CHOSE to not use a computer, as if it was a positive that not being familiar with modern computers.

So if I choose not to use modern technology such a cell-phone, then there’s something wrong? You’re such a superficial bot. Your comment isn’t much more than a series of letters strung together. As a scientist, I use far more sophisticated and technical equipment then you could dream of. When I’m not at work, I leave it behind. You silly bots need to be hardwired to your collective or you’re lost so to make up for the fact that you have nothing to internally justify your existence, you become servants to your automaton master. Your trouble is that you made the mistake of thinking resistance was futile. Too bad, you’re screwed.

  • ACPD

BO has the same foot-in-his-mouth tendencies GW had. They both suffer from insecurity, ineptitude and inexperience. When each became president, they thought it gave them license to do as they pleased. The problem with BO is that he appears to have lacked even the basic level of training in social graces that GW was raised with. BO is an embarrassment–even in his homeland of Hollywood.

Palin, on the other hand, continues to rise above the ugly and the irrelevant to hit the mark. She and HRC have proven and continue to prove they were the stars of the last election. Even McCann is doing a better job explaining and working on the economic issues than BO and the Dems in Congress. Hopefully the American public will come to its senses by the 2010 election and at least give the Republicans a majority in the House….We need to get back to work and stop the partying….

  • Idiocracy08

I’ve never read this site before but judging by this one comments section, the ignorance is at startling levels.

Please just look at this video, saying “…he admits he still doesn’t know how to use a computer, can’t send an email…” in which Obama “approves this message”
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQ2I0t_Twk0

This may be the first time you’ve read this site, but I remember the bots here making fun of him.

Oof! That is several ugly visuals, none of which I needed.

  • andrew191

It took you 32 years? Well, better late than never. Congratulations on your promotion from idiot to imbecile.

  • andrew191

I never wrote anywhere that you are a bot elise. I know you’re not. But from your post I’ve learned that you’re a pacifist, a social liberal, and you claim to have a brain. I now know that you have “freed your mind” and you’re now on a noble quest for Truth and the search for answers. Are you also a vegetarian? What’s your favorite color? Do you like pina coladas? I’m dying to know.

  • andrew191

Also elise, since you “freed your mind” it is apparantly getting away from you, perhaps you should leave the keyboard and attempt to catch it.

Thank you for your very insightful message, I agree with you wholeheartedly!
I was a lifelong democrat, but Obama’s campaign, including voter fraud, voter manipulation, voter intimidation, etc., I became a registered unaffiliated.

Our country is going to fall as a result of this most inept of presidents.

  • elise

And steaks are not made from tofu, andrew. You woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I DON’T LIKE PINA COLADAS. I like tequila straight up with lime and salt.

  • Ferd Berfle

Actually, Andrew, until That One took over, the Democrats weren’t bad. WJC was certainly far and away a better President than Dubya. The Republicans only consolation in this mess is that Oblablah will be worse than Dubya, which isn’t really anything for the right wing to crow about.

  • Bob

THERE IS ALWAYS 2012— HIS BUDDIES ARE FALLING ONE BY ONE – LOOK AT CNN- OBAMA IS A LOSER AND HAS NEVER HAD A REAL JOB—- HE HAS NO CHARACTER AND IT WILL ALL COME OUT IN DUE TIME– AMERICA IS A SHALLOW COUNTRY WITH A HISTORY RECENTLY OF PUTTING EMPTY SUITS INTO OFFICE.

Little Trigg is becoming a little cutie – he’s getting that dark hair like the rest of the Palin children! You can tell he’s surrounded by love – what is more important than that? He seems happy and his family seems to adore him; when you have faith in God and have love in your family – isn’t THAT what counts???
