Barack vs. Special Olympics

Barack, reputed to be a guy of average intelligence, shows that without the crutch of a teleprompter he struggles. Check it out:

And here is a mentally challenged young man.

I think this good soul could teach Mr. Obama a thing or two. Bet you he did not have a teleprompter.

  • James

I thought Obama is reputed to be the smartest president EVAH!!

    • felizarte

He said he could multi-task. But I guess that did not include thinking and speaking at the same time. Good thinkers are usually good speakers because they simply speak their minds. It is obvious that all this time, Obama (through the teleprompters) was simply saying what others have thought.

      • andrew191

Believing what she speaks before she says it, is precisely what makes Sarah Palin a compelling orator.

      • barry bums a ciggie

I saw Dickie Morris on tv the other night talking about how Bill Clinton once had a teleprompter malfunction. Pres. Clinton kept on speaking for 15 minutes, remembering the key points and the speech almost verbatim. When the teleprompter went back on he just picked up where it failed. Could Barry do that? uhhh, ummmm, I think not. That’s why during the debates with Hillary, she ran circles around him. If the msm did their jobs, they would have seen the obvious…Bobo is Dubya.

  • NMK

This is a powerful ad by the Special Olympics, and thanks for putting it up along with the The National Embarrassment.

Today, this past week, it is clear that koolaid is wearing off. Katrina moment = a koolaid moment.

    • Objective Analysis

LOL! I am busting at the seams!

      Hope, Change, Idiocy!

      LOL!

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Isn’t that the most powerful ad? WOW!!! Thank you, Larry, for posting such a great ad!!!

I don’t know who the first guy is, but my suggestion is that he join his small town’s Toastmasters! They’ll be kind to him, and he can learn from the other people’s speaking abilities.

  • kinthenorthwest

I know Obama cant speak without a telepromter, but I still can’t believe he said what he said.

  • WhatNow

OT – What happened with Obama’s interview tonight on 60 minutes? Did he really laugh about the state of our economy?

    • John Smith

It is all over the news. This will be a big story tomorrow on the blogs. Can’t speak for the drive by media however.

    • AF catfish

      60 Minutes transcript:

His remarks came in a “60 Minutes” interview in which he was pressed by an incredulous Steve Kroft for laughing and chuckling several times while discussing the perilous state of the world’s economy.

“You’re sitting here. And you’re— you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, ‘I mean, he’s sitting there just making jokes about money—’ How do you deal with— I mean: explain. . .” Kroft asks at one point.

      “Are you punch-drunk?” Kroft says.

“No, no. There’s gotta be a little gallows humor to get you through the day,” Obama says, with a laugh.

      • mary

        Thank you for posting…

I can’t believe that he would use “gallows Humour” as an escape clause for His Utter Stupidity!

And this jerk dared to offend the courageous, brave young men and women who have no challenges they cannnot overcome? Every challenge coming down Obummer’s way is met with incompetence, arrogance and utter stupidity!!!!

      • TeakwoodKite

Hangman, hangin from the gallows pole?

Hangman, hangman, turn your head awhile,
I think I see my sister coming, riding many mile, mile, mile.
Sister, I implore you, take him by the hand,
Take him to some shady bower, save me from the wrath of this man,
Please take him, save me from the wrath of this mad, man.

Hangman, hangman, upon your face a smile,
Tell me that I’m free to ride,
Ride for many mile, mile, mile

        Led Zeppelin.

macabre humor, BO last I checked they were still calling you a “strategic thinker”. Since you can’t pay attention…never mind the details, please spare the nation anymore embarrassment and resign post haste.

It’s one thing to be an asshole like Bush and have to explain it to a Scottish Blackwatch soldier after buying him a drink in his country, it is quite another to be an embaressment because you an asshole AND clueless in this country.

      • tango

No, he’s like a 12 year old who has been asked to talk about sex. The giggling I think covers up his discomfort, embarassment and lack of knowledge. I mean a lot of us giggle when uncomfortable. It’s a coping mechanism but I expect more from my President.

Stupid jokes and inappropriate laughter. Another reason this man should never go off teleprompter.

    • John Smith

It– it– it’s not a high number.

      STEVE KROFT:

You’re sitting here. And you’re– you are laughing. You are laughing about some of these problems. Are people going to look at this and say, “I mean, he’s sitting there just making jokes about (LAUGHTER) money–” How do you deal with– I mean, wh– explain -

      PRESIDENT OBAMA:

      Well–

      STEVE KROFT:

      –the mood and your laughter.

      PRESIDENT OBAMA:

Yeah, I mean, there’s got to be–

      STEVE KROFT:

      Are you punch drunk?

      • Michele

        Are you punch drunk?

I think it is kool-aid poisoning

        • DAB

Ya, he should change flavors — perhaps orange or raspberry would restore his sanity.

    • mary

I just read it fleetingly….that the host of 60 Minutes stopped Obama at some point and asked the President of Confusion and Misogyny if he was “PUNCH DRUNK”!!!

I felt ashamed and embarrassed viewing the video of this courageous, WINNING young man. I view him as a true Leader–and not the Telempropter Embarrassment. SHAME ON BARRY!

      • http://deleted Buzz Latte

Maybe he was just high or having a flashback. Maybe he was nervous without his beloved teleprompter. But we do know he was certainly un-presidential and in over his head again in the Kroft interview.

This charade is at an end. How can America trust anything that comes out of the Zero’s mouth, ever?

People losing their jobs and retirements certainly don’t need gallows humor and a buffoon saying it’s gonna get worse.

        • I’mFedUp

Didn’t everyone see his teleprompter gaffe at his St. Patty’s Day party at the WH? He read someone else’s speech and said “I would like to thank President Obama for…” He’s one big ole buffoon who is flushing this country down the toilet. I am sooo embarrassed by this total buffoon.

          • I’mFedUp

I know people here probably hate Rush…But you have to listen to him talking about 0Fraudo’s big gaffe at the St. Patty’s Day bash…You will need Depends or will wet yourself laughing. It’s so funny, but so sad. This is the TOTUS we are stuck with.

            “Obama Thanks Himself”

            • politicalidentitycrisis

You know what??? I am going to stop calling Obama Bush 3. Really. That is a horrible insult to George W. Bush. Not in a million years could that man have ever been as stupid as the King of Stupid, Barack Hussein Obama. I bet GW just loves BHO, don’t ya think?

              • I’mFedUp

I actually think the highlight of Bush’s life is 0Zero. I’ve said it over and over…he HAS to be laughing his ass off that he will never, ever be regarded as the worst POTUS in history. Carter and Fraudbama are way ahead of him.

            • no kidding

I’mFedUp In my years as a Democrat I never listened to Rush but now I do everyday. He has common sense which is something sorely lacking in the MSM today. In a contest between Rush and Obama. Its Rush by a mile.

              • I’mFedUp

no kidding…I don’t care where the info comes from these days. But I will say that Rush loves this country and Obama doesn’t. That’s enough for me.

  • TeakwoodKite

Indifference is the core of the human who is legally named Barry Soetoro, but goes by the name BO.
(seeing how the last LEGAL document I have seen is from Indonesia)

I recall reading a passage out of BO’s book where he took exception to the coach sterotyping some of the other students.
What a BS artist he has become. Even putting aside my personal views, I DID want him to achieve positive results.

How many different ways does BO have to exemplify he is one duck short of a shallow pond??!

I mean does one have to get a tat that says “It’s about America, stupid” on ones forehead for BO to mistake it for the teleprompter?

  • Babs

Here’s my question – who out there among all of you, when confronted with a less than stellar performance in some physical activity, would even think to compare that performance to the Special Olympics? I just don’t get the mindset of someone who would, maybe it’s just me.

    • AF catfish

I would have, but that was before I turned 12 years old. OK, in all fairness it was before I turned 14 years old.

    • jbjd

I posted this before; I don’t think he was comparing his performance to the Special Olympics. I think he was comparing Jay’s feigned praise of his performance to spectators praising the Special Olympians.
      http://jbjd.wordpress.com/

      • AF catfish

Um it was still a really idiotic thing to do.

      • AF catfish

OK! Even if you’re right, it was nonetheless tasteless and idiotic. And offensive!

      • imustprotest

Yes, I think you might be right about that, he was making fun of the fake praise. Either way it’s crude and rude not presidential.

        • imustprotest

Oh and anyone who has a special needs child, or knows one and is witness to their accomplishments in Special Olympics, graduations or anything else can attest, it is not false praise….it is with the most heartfelt pride and joy imaginable.

          • jbjd

            I know.

      • masslib

Ahhhh, the feigned praise bestowed on the Special Olympians, of course, because everyone knows those idiots are not real athletes…Seriously, the Obama defenders are hilarious, like the Bush 30 percenters but with more chutzpah.

    • mary

      THANK YOU, LARRY!

I have alerted about a dozen friends…and list is growing…with regard to your above brilliant juxtaposition of Barack’s inability to meet the Telempropter Challenge and the courageous Winner of the Special Olympics.

Yes, a Vid tells this story much more than a million words would have……

    • Michele

Slips like this always make me wonder about the speakers true convictions. I mean, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger commented something to the effect that he does not believe this reflects Obama’s true feelings. That he had spoken to him some time before and Obama had spoken about his support of Special Olympics. What would Arnold expect him to say? That he didn’t support Special Olympics?

Just because someone speaks out lout that they support Special Olympics does not mean that deep in their core, they feel that they are better than or above, “those people” that make up Special Olympics; the athletes and their families. Don’t we all know people who will say out loud that they are not predjudiced but who we later find out through their actions, that maybe they are, just a little bit?

While I realize that if I were put in the position of public speaking, I know I would say something I would regret. But I cannot imagine a comment like his about Special Olympics because it is such a repulsive thing to say or think or feel to me. I would expect that I would put my foot in my mouth by letting loose a curse word or two. You know, the kind of think I might do in private with select people, but not the kind of thing I do with everyone or in public.

      • DAB

I agree with you. Freudian slips usually reflect actual subconscious attitudes that dare not be spoken — unless of course you slip up.

  • Benjamin

Well, I viewed most of the 60 minutes interview, and I’ll be honest folks – I’m starting to really get scared. There’s something fundamentally wrong with this man: the inappropriate laughing; the cavalier comment about the Special Olympics. I think our new president is coming unglued. I mean, maybe his already existent personality disorder is coming to the surface.

I’m waiting to see him pull some little silver balls from his pocket and start rolling them – like Humphrey Bogart.

    • I’mFedUp

Benjamin, I agree. I posted an article about “Obama Cracking Up” on another thread. I think he is losing what was left of his crack addled mind once and for all. No one can screw up this much in such a short time and not be falling apart at the seams. I am terrified. He’s way over his head and should step down.

      • http://www.marklevinshow.com Seattle Moss

        Even Krugman is terrified

I’m afraid that this will be the administration’s only shot — that if the first bank plan is an abject failure, it won’t have the political capital for a second. So it’s just horrifying that Obama — and yes, the buck stops there — has decided to base his financial plan on the fantasy that a bit of financial hocus-pocus will turn the clock back to 2006

        • TeakwoodKite

          Ouch!

      • Benjamin

I think the goal of Obama’s latest “charm offensive” is to reassure the American people that he’s competent and in charge – but it seems to be backfiring, totally.

Obama can’t resist preening in front of the camera so of course he can’t resist an opportunity to also play the role of the cool, hip guy – and his demeanor just doesn’t connect with the seriousness of the issues. I also think he knows that it’s not working.

      • andrew191

0bama does seem like someone addicted, and not just to smokes, although the smoking does indicate an addictive tendency. It would be a good explaination for his need to constantly get away from the WH to situations that are more conducive to private moments of indulgence. I was married for 20 years to someone who almost perfected that act of hiding or minimizing an addiction problem. What can I say? love is blind. And I think it’s the same principle blinds the people that adore 0bama. They can’t or won’t see what is apparent to those critical of the sad creature. He’s crawling with psychological bugs.

        • juststoppingby

          “He’s crawling with psychological bugs.”

          like Bush.

(ok with u if i use this “bugs” line of yours? it’s great.)

          • andrew191

Don’t you think it’s about time to quit using Bush as the standard for comparisons? “Like Bush”, or “Just like Bush” are rapidly becoming tired mantras.

0bama has proven over and over again that he is unique and stands alone in his boorish idiocy. Comparing him to anyone with more stature than Bozo the clown would not be accurate.

      • Ani

Hillary said from the beginning that the White House is an unbelievable and relentless pressure cooker, which is a fact any third grader would know and respect. How could anyone think otherwise.

How could this man possibly be prepared for the challenges he faces. That’s why we didn’t vote for him to begin with. Where was anyone’s logic in thinking that in the midst of this mess, someone so light on accomplishments and moral courage and knowledge could handle the job?

    • Katmoon

<blockquoteUnder Section 4 of the Twenty-fifth Amendment, the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet may transfer the presidential powers and duties from the President to the Vice President once they transmit to the Speaker of the House and the President pro tempore of the Senate a statement declaring the President’s incapacity to discharge the presidential powers and duties. If this occurs, then the Vice President will assume the presidential powers and duties as Acting President; however, the President can declare that no such inability exists and resume the discharge of the presidential powers and duties. If the Vice President and Cabinet contest this claim, it is up to Congress, which must meet within two days if not already in session, to decide the merit of the claim.
The United States Constitution mentions the resignation of the President but does not regulate the form of such a resignation or the conditions for its validity. By Act of Congress, the only valid evidence of the President’s decision to resign is a written instrument declaring the resignation signed by the President and delivered to the office of the Secretary of State.

      • andrew191

I’m sure that the founders never imagined that someone so lightly vetted, and so unqualified, would ever get close to the Presidency.

    • DAB

What is really strange is that he might have thought that his comment was in the least bit funny — it didn’t even qualify as the “gallows humor” that he tried to pass it off as.

  • I’m a Linda too

    Thank you Larry.

I hate that this ignoramus is our president.

  • kinthenorthwest

Today on the way home from shopping I was flipping through some am news stations. On two of them they were talking about Obama losing popularity along with the BC issue.
On one it was about a group of service men that are saying they will not take orders from a president that has not proven his eligibility. It seems the servicemen’s group is growing in numbers.
On the other it was about how much money he had spent on keeping his records sealed. Its estimated at between 500 k to a million or more. That to me seems like quite a bit of money.

    • I’mFedUp

The lying fraud has three law firms, and last time I checked had spent over $800,000 in legal fees, to hide his real BC. I can’t wait until he is escorted out of the WH in cuffs.

      • AF catfish

It will be a constitutional crisis, even if I hope it happens. The first black president escorted out of the White House in handcuffs.

There have been some African American commenters here at NoQuarter who recognized Obama for the fraud he is. This is a tragedy for our AA friends and for the country and for race relations.

But something has to happen, we can’t have this guy for four years. I like the idea of loading a resignation speech into his TOTUS.

        • I’mFedUp

If it isn’t stopped and exposed, then it will be a long time before another AA gets to the WH I am afraid. I am thrilled and full of pride that our country has shown that it has taken great strides against racism. But this isn’t the guy. And having him there is way to big of a liability for our country than we can suffer through. Next time, perhaps the voters will vote substance over color, politician over party, etc. I sure hope so. This is a big hit for our country to take at the very wrong time to take it.

          • KathyNeocon

Next time, perhaps the voters will vote substance over color, politician over party, etc. I sure hope so.

Amen. The Decline and Fall of the United States of America is under way and picking up speed, thanks to apostasy of our populace. The chickens are coming home to roost.

          • FLDemFem

The next AA candidate for the office of President should have a background connected with America. He or she should have been raised by people connected with the civil rights movement, even in a minor way, they should have the familial experience of being black in America even before it was “cool”. He or she should actually be aware that some kids in their school came to school with mayonnaise sandwiches and holes in their shoes. They should have been involved in activism that wasn’t based on promoting themselves but on improving the lives of others. 0bummer doesn’t meet any of those criteria. And he should.

      • rw

If he keeps going the way he is, he’ll be escorted out of the WH in a specially sleeve-tailored white jacket.

    • TeakwoodKite

What side of the dial was it you listened to?

      The servicemen issue is interesting…

      • I’mFedUp

Teakwood, there are at least 60 military personnel, I think, who are involved in Dr. Orly Taitz’s lawsuit against the Fraud. I also know that at least one, or more, of them have been threatened with Court Marshall proceedings for doing it.

        • TeakwoodKite

I’mFedUp, kinthenorthwest’s comment made me curious if it left, right or center on the dial.

ie what direction the it was coming from.

I would not think twice if it was on left side. Just was curious.

Dr. Orly Taitz’s lawsuit has a fasinating premise of legal standing.
What is a lawful order with respect to BO. If these soldiers do this, it will be akin to the Band of Brother scene where the non-com’s write a letter refusing to serve under the guy who couldn’t read a map.

          • I’mFedUp

I was actually talking to Orly a few weeks ago, and she was reading a “motion to dismiss” from that asshole FRAUD, and she told me that she was almost killed by her brakes or tires being screwed with in her car. Surprise. This is the caucus thuggery all over again, or worse. She is probably the biggest patriot I know, and she was born and bred in Russia. She sooo doesn’t want to see us end up with the life the Fraud sees for us. God bless her.

I am just lost for words that Kroft could actually say something like that to him (taking the more informal meaning of the word as dazed) and the guy responded to it. Something is not right here.

      • I’mFedUp

I was thinking that too…Like, when could a reporter actually get away with something so insulting to the POTUS? Doesn’t it seem odd that this is going on? Okay, break out the tin foil hats kids. Maybe all of these gaffes are a big precursor for him stepping down due to some medical issue or something? I mean, really. We might be forced to see our first White House eviction. He might get lawyers to string it out for a couple of years at that.

        • AF catfish

Maybe he has a brain tumor. Remember that columnist who hit a guy with his car – Robert Novack?

Barry will resign, then get the tumor removed, and will live and we’ll just have President Biden gaffe it up. I still think we’re safer with Gaffer Biden.

          • I’mFedUp

If ZeroFraud is determined to have been ineligible, which we all know he is, then the entire ticket is invalid, including Biden. Maybe we will be saved by a Clinton, McCain, whatever, run off after. Something has to happen. This dude done lost his grits big time.

            • AF catfish

I think you’re reaching. I know Gaffer Biden as POTUS sounds like a nightmare, but it’s the only viable plan. And it’s still better than Obama serving out four years.

              • I’mFedUp

No, I’m not reaching. Honestly, if he is determined to ineligible, and he committed fraud to get the job, the whole ticket is fraudulent. That’s the deal. I’m not reaching at all. I live this every day of my life. Check the law if you want. I could be wrong, but my research says that’s what happens.

                • C.S.

I think you are right, the whole ticket is fraudulent. We know that the Democratic party took delegates from the person with the most primary votes, then Senator Clinton, by fraudulent methods and gave them to Soertoro/Obama so he would appear to be ahead of Clinton when they reached the Democratic Convention. Soertoro/OIbama then selected Biden as VP. This was a Constitutional crisis before the first vote was cast November 4.

The whole argument of the guy called Obama being a legal president is sort of like arguing that a kidnapper has a legal right to keep the child because he got away with the kidnapping.

          • TeakwoodKite

I trust that Biden knows the personal cell numbers of many of the world leaders. BO? His Blackberry Kung Fu is weak!

BO couldn’t get the Ghostbusters on the line, even on a slow night.

If that man calls my house again to tell me he is for Prop 8, I’m gonna hang up on him like I did the last time.

And another thing, for a guy that thinks he is “hip”, how come he doesn’t know Area 1 from Area 2 DVD’s? Maybe it all Area 51 to him.

The guy has ripped everything else he has and what? never a downloaded DVD on BO 1 to go with the choice magazines?

        • no kidding

i’mfedup — I can see it now — Obama resigns then Biden leaves due to ill health and Amelda Pelosi takes over. Now that I have sufficiently scared myself out of a night’s sleep — couldn’t we find a way to put Hillary and McCain in charge of this country?

          • I’mFedUp

no kidding…Pelosi needs to be put to pasture in Cuba. She will never run this country. I honestly don’t understand how she got where she is, but my country voted Obama in so I know nothing.

She wouldn’t get the job. Again, I could be wrong, but from what I understand the entire Presidential election would be a “do over” when the country gets that Obama is a fraudulent POS.

I’ll take Biden over Obama. I’ll take Pelosi over Obama.

If you guys are serious about this you need to weigh these options.

I’m serious, I think Pelosi is scarier to our enemies than Obama is. I think Pelosi even loves America!

            • I’mFedUp

I honestly can’t even think of anything other than getting rid of criminal Obama and getting this country back on track. It will never be Pelosi thank God.

              • AF catfish

So you’d rather have Obama than Pelosi? Or are you being a Barry and voting present?

                • I’mFedUp

AF I would rather sit in my bathtub and open my wrists than Obama. Why are you saying this stuff???

            • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

              Pelosi over Obama…yikes.

I think what I’d like to see happen is Obama becoming a lame duck (like Bush) and Palin getting elected in 2012.

          • FLDemFem

If Obama resigns, or is impeached, then Biden becomes president and can pick his own VP. Enter Hillary Clinton as VP. Biden resigns, leaving Hillary as President. It would work, and is perfectly Constitutional. And it eliminates the danger of Nancy Pelosi in the Oval Office. I keep saying, it’s my favorite daydream. And sometimes my daydreams do come true. So work on getting Obummer out and Biden in and then out. Hehehe.

        • tango

Well who would think a reporter in a formal interview would EVER have to ask a President “are you punch drunk” because of the responses he was getting to his questions? That right there is just unbelievable.

          • getfitnow

BO garners no respect. Anytime a national candidate gets on stage with his wife fist bumps and slaps her butt; comes out on stage to Jay-Z’s music; misses inaugural party for congressional medal of honor recepients (he is the first president since Eisenhower) to miss this; bungling all kinds of protocol–yeah, I can see it. He has disgraced the office.

      • TeakwoodKite

PM317, I could not believe Mr. Kroft would address POTUS in this manner. But then again BO is the one who took the bait, as you said.

The Gallows Humor at the end of the day comment has me very worried. The last thing this country needs in a POTUS is a fatalist egomaniac seeking “change”.
The next thing I am expecting to hear from BO is….

Ozero never wanted to BE president. He just wanted to be the first black president and let everyone else do the work.

If the rumor of Ozero being treated for mental illness in the ’80′s (schizophrenia) is true, perhaps the pressure of actually having to do something is exacerbating some latent mental health problem.

At any rate, the man appears to be falling off his trolley.

    • I’mFedUp

      “falling off his trolley?” Hysterical.

It’s official. If Obama sent troops as a way of withdrawing, I’m calling it: he has a brain tumor. We need to let him resign to spend time with his family and seek medical treatment.

      • I’mFedUp

I will go with the brain tumor thing, but honestly I was told by an AA woman who has known him for a million years, from Chicago and Trinity, that the crack never stopped. I always thought it was nonsense, but I can’t figure out what the hell is wrong with this nut. It’s either drugs or a massive brain tumor. At this point he’s so pathetic I’m actually feeling sorry for him.

        • AF catfish

I could care less if he smoked crack if he could run the country. I could care less if he smoked crack ever.

The point is, he’s crazy. Right now. I don’t care how he got that way.

We’re also making vets use private insurance for all non-combat related injuries. Egghead Orzag used his abacus and said it’s a good idea.

    • sandi78

I laughed when he told Steve Kroft that his most difficult decision to date was sending more troops to Afghanistan. Didn’t he tell us for the entire campaign that he was going to do that?

      • Ferd Berfle

When the sum total of your actual decisions as President can be counted on one hand and include a Victory Vichy garden = 1, it could be the toughest. His next tough decision will be how to spin his abysmal performance on 60 Minutes.

  • I’mFedUp

Okay this is the elephant in the room….Come on guys, Obots and all, seriously…Have we ever seen anything as truly disturbed as Obama? I know, I know, y’all hate Bush. Good for you. What I see is a president who has clearly worked himself to the point of exhaustion having a bad moment in front of the camera. I’ll keep my feelings on how the second clip has been utilized to myself. I’ll only say that the young man makes a righteous statement that should be allowed to stand in the light of its own power and purity, entirely on its own.

      • andrew191

It couldn’t be simply someone that is clearly over his head? How many gaffes, inadvertant insults, childish actions (middle finger cheek scratches aimed at his superiors, shoulder brushing), fundamental mistakes (57 states, 10,000 dead in a tornado, letter to Chirac, etc.), will it take before intelligent people like YOU cynic wake up from the euphoric effects of a slick campaign and realize that 0bama is a bumbling, arrogant, Narcissistic boob? I’m thinking Ted Baxter here.

Comedians have made their fortunes on far fewer gaffes made by Dan Quayle, even though he was in office for much longer than 0bama, and was only the Vice Pres.

The moment you admit to yourself that 0bama was an abysmal choice, that will be the moment that you may recover your credibility and approach life with a rational embrace.

        • cynic

What you’re saying is that the moment I have an epiphany, and suddenly begin seeing even the most insignificant public and personal details of Obama through the same distorting lens as you, I will at last have a totally unbiased understanding of the man; that if I won’t join a cult that believes he’s the prince of darkness, I apparently belong to an opposing cult that blindly idolizes and worships the man.

I reject both extremes. I figure that leaves me capable of rational analysis. While I strongly approve of some things the President is trying to do, I disapprove or am undecided about others.

          • candymarl

Obama has had all of his records sealed? Why? That’s not an extreme it’s a fact.

He insulted both the British Prime minister and the French Prime minister. Those are facts.

I have seen black folks that didn’t want their faces seen while being interviewed because Obama supporters had terrorized them so.

I have seen black women say they had been threatened by Obama supporters if they didn’t go along.

I’ve seen white and latino women say the same things.

This is someone you can approve of? When did he ever say stop that’s enough. Not to this day.

Obama did a land deal with a convicted felon whom Obama voted to give millions of taxpayer dollars. The black people Rezko was suppose to help got nothing. Obama got a mansion out of the deal. But Obama is the first “black President”.

But you still approve of him in some aspects. Okay.

      • Ani

And what of the Steve Kroft interview with him on 60 minutes tonight where Obama was laughing inappropriately about the troubled economy and Kroft asked if he was punch drunk?

I’m not troubled that he frequently makes an ass of himself, I’ve come to expect it. What troubles me is that the MSM and his mouth foaming followers refuse to recognize it.

        • Ferd Berfle

I have said since last summer that there are three reasons I would never vote for That One:

          1) He is unqualified,
          2) He is unfit, and
          3) He is dangerous.

I think his performance last night on 60 Minutes just gave a lot of credence to my points. For Steve Kroft to ask if he was punch drunk speaks volumes.

That One is either schizoid, on drugs, or is cruel. Whatever the choice, he should not be President for another minute.

          • Docelder

Yes to that, and he was never held to the scrutiny that a presidential candidate should have been held to. I guess we could have been lucky and pleasantly surprised… but then our luck seems to have run out as of late. Not that any of this should have been left to chance or luck to begin with.

      • ME

Interesting you and your deranged type never had so much as a single lame excuse like that for Bush’s gaffs……..you damn stinky brown nosing hypocrit.

Fools like you make me want to puke my guts out.

        • Ani

Well, your rude comment notwithstanding, I did not like it when Bush smiled inappropriately when talking about the war in Iraq and I screamed loud and long about that, too — as did many here, I am sure.

But this gentlemen who is now our President is supposed to be so much better than Bush, if you will recall. The “elegant” President. It is not very elegant to sit there and laugh nervously, or display “gallows humor” as he calls it when talking about 1/2 of Americans’ life savings going up in flames.

He is set for life so perhaps the reality of what the folks on the ground are dealing with is not sinking in for him. It is in extremely poor taste to display this kind of jovial attitude when talking about this.

This is not a gaffe, it is an overriding attitude on his part — and he should mend it instantly. He laughs everything off, whether because he is nervous or in over his head. You can be the judge of that for yourself. Either way, he is now the POTUS and has to be a hell of a lot more aware about the message he is sending to the American people and to the world every time he speaks.

He is not some frat boy at a kegger. He is the POTUS. He has to hold himself to an entirely different standard. What he did last night made it look like he truly was fiddling while Rome burned, whether he is or not.

May I suggest that you stop making nasty comments to others and look at the reality of this situation.

        • candymarl

I pointed out everything Bush did that was inappropriate. I called for his impeachment. Nancy Pelosi, a so-called Democrat, said impeachment was off the table for Bush.

Had she and the Democratic majority done their jobs maybe, just maybe, things wouldn’t have gotten this bad.

          You make me physically ill.

          • candymarl

BTW Obama’s administration has said there will no investigation of the Bush administration. But I’m sure you suddenly think that’s just fine.

            • Ferd Berfle

Agreed. That One is owned by the same miscreants that owned Bush so the Bush administration will never be investigated. I think that may be another reason why HRC was treated so shabbily during the primaries. She couldn’t be bought.

      • FLDemFem

When did he do all this work that has supposedly exhausted him? He hasn’t been in DC long enough to put in an eight hour day in the Oval Office. He spent the weekend at Camp David, the 60 Minutes interview was taped ahead of time. He spends more time in the air on AF One than he does in the office doing any work. He goes from one TV show to another and sticks his foot in his mouth repeatedly on them. Just exactly when did he do all this work that exhausted him to the point of not being able to string a coherent sentence together?

      • C.S.

If Obama has “worked himself to exhaustion” in less than two months and even after three vacations what is he going to be like in a year? Unable to get out of bed?

Think about it. Harry Truman was catapulted into office during a world wide war after the death of FDR and if that wouldn’t “work” a president to exhaustion, what would? JFK’s assassination spun LBJ into the Oval Office one afternoon in Dallas in 1963 right in the middle of the stay-or-get-out-of VietNam phase of a war that didn’t end until the Nixon administration.

President Clinton entered office and was met with an al Qaida bombing of the World Trade Center; a quick introduction to the terrorism that would blow up the USS Cole and go on to attack the Pentagon and bring down the World Trade Center two years after he left office. Clinton’s staff constantly complained about his work ethic of “burning the midnight oil” and wondered when he slept because he worked such long hours and yet was always up to speed on what was happening and what needed his attention.

If Soertoro/Obama knew he didn’t have the stamina to keep up why did he declare himself a candidate? (it’s not as if he wanted to open his life for the voters to review). Fatigue isn’t an excuse, he either shapes up and does the job, he quits or We the People fire him because, as business is constantly telling us, times are too tough to keep deadwood employed.

And since he’s spent a whole two months in the office, I’m sure he can rest when he “retires” on his full salary for the rest of his life at our expense and write a sequel about his “Life in the Obama White House”!

        • cynic

Even in normal times the responsibilities of the presidency are a burdon. These aren’t normal times. The global economic crisis has put us all in far greater collective danger than we ever were from Al-Qaeda.

          • Ferd Berfle

Yeah and that’s the reason we DON”T need some neophyte, slacker of an impostor like That One as POTUS.

          • C.S.

It’s not the crisis, it’s the guy handling the crisis that matters and he should not be starting out “too tired” to handle it. This global economic crisis just didn’t pop up the day Soertoro/Obama took the oath of office; we were warned it was coming if we didn’t do something to stop it and that should have been one of the factors those who selected him for the job should have considered when they dismissed experience for “on the job training”. We reap what we sow and this is some crop we’re about to harvest.

It is said that Lincoln haunts the White House and if that is true I hope he stops by the Obamas quarters and gives the new tenant some blunt advice.

By the way, there was also a world wide economic crisis during WWII, no gas, few groceries, rations for clothes…get your grandparents to show you their ration book (bet they still have it). This one may be worse, but the Great Depression and World War II were a good rehearsal and they were in the hands of Winston Churchill and FDR/Truman, not an inexperienced mystery man who has needed 3 vacations in 60 days.

  • Katmoon

When the president is in a medical state that “shifts” their ability to make decisions, proper steps are taken to transfer power temporarily; I am beginning to wonder if that one is on some type of prescription medication that isn’t working so well anymore, or in need of some type of medication…valium. Either way, the chain of command had better look at this seriously. Hysteria, or the appearance of the beginning of it, makes our country ripe for things, I do not want to imagine. I pray others, closer in succession can see this, with a back up plan ready to be put in play.

  • Katmoon

    Because I was curious

    Source:bensguide.gpo.gov/9-12/government/national/succession.html

The Presidential Succession Act of 1947, signed by President Harry Truman, changed the order again to what it is today. The cabinet members are ordered in the line of succession according to the date their offices were established.

Prior to the ratification of the 25th Amendment in 1967, there was no provision for filling a vacancy in the vice presidency. When a president died in office, the vice president succeeded him, and the vice presidency then remained vacant. The first vice president to take office under the new procedure was Gerald Ford, who was nominated by Nixon on Oct. 12, 1973, and confirmed by Congress the following Dec. 6.

    The Vice President Joseph Biden
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
President pro tempore of the Senate1 Robert Byrd
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner
    Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
    Attorney General Eric Holder
Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar
    Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack
    Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke2
    Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis
Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius2
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Shaun Donovan
    Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood
    Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu
    Secretary of Education Arne Duncan
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki
Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano
NOTE: An official cannot succeed to the Presidency unless that person meets the Constitutional requirements.
    1. The president pro tempore presides over the Senate when the vice president is absent. The president pro tempore is elected by the Senate, but by tradition the position is held by the senior member of the majority party.

Why on earth has he not chosen a White House Physician? Yes there is an acting, but this is downright irresponsible.

As of this article, March 23, 2009

The White House has not yet announced President Barack Obama’s choice for physician, but Navy Capt. Jeff Kuhlman, MD, is the new head of the WHMU and is acting as chief physician.

Traditionally, the President is treated by the ranking Naval physician, usually an Admiral, from Bethesda Naval Hospital. Ronald Reagan departed from this tradition, which sent up huge red flags, by appointing his father-in-law as Presidential physician. Dr. Davis was a specialist in Alzheimer’s. So not appointing a physician and just using the one the government assigns is no biggie. If he does appoint one, look carefully. It will be because he wants to hide something, as Reagan did.

We need to go to a National Primary Day where the first and second places for each party determines who the running mates are for the General. This then, until the media can figure out how, will keep their noses out of it at least through the primaries.
Also, we need to restrict the length of time between the primaries and the GE.

We will at least have a chance for a good leader. With the media determining the outcome, we are screwed to eternity. Or, until people quit letting the media think for them. Okay, eternity…

    • Elizabeth

It isn’t a structural problem or issue with the system. The primary season has worked fine in the past when it is allowed to play out fairly.

The media is already being let down by their creation. No way are they, never mind the voters, going to let themselves be victimized so carelessly again.

      • Ferd Berfle

The media is already being let down by their creation. No way are they, never mind the voters, going to let themselves be victimized so carelessly again.

I beg to differ with you on this one. Like That One, Dubya was also a creation, of sorts, by the media. He had a lot of baggage associated with him, too, which was never looked into and he did get a free pass right up until Katrina, when they could no longer ignore the incompetence of his appointees.

The media won’t change until the public forces the issue by tuning them out. All I need is information–I don’t need either right- or left-wing hacks off-gassing at me. They can keep their wretched opinions to themselves.

As someone who has had the pleasure of attending regional Special Olympics competitions, I have to say they are the most exhilarating and emotionally satisfying competitions I have ever seen. - Biden believes HRC would make a better vp than him

    so…..

From everything I’ve seen I’ve seen an heard, his alleged intelligence is vastly overrated nothing more than hyperbole. There is nothing like objective evidence to put the kibosh on unfounded rumors (and it is a rumor until he releases his transcripts).
