You people are just cracking me up! The NQ readers keep posting links to the funniest web sites, and videos, so I thought we should round them up and do a post.

    LOL! This is hilarious. I had already visited the teleprompter blog, and the cartoons are great. I think the question is not whether he should get off the teleprompter, but whether he CAN get off the teleprompter without coming across as an imbecile.

    This seems like another phony baloney issue to deflect us from the very real problems our country faces.

    So what if he uses a teleprompter? Every Prez since Kennedy has used one. Reagan once gave a dedication speech for a retiring State Dept official and got half-way through before he realized his aides had loaded the wrong speech in the teleprompter! Reagan laughed it off, as he should have.

    A POTUS has to give hundreds of speeches every year. Do we really want our Presidents spending time memorizing speeches instead of governing?

    After 8 years of having an absolute moron as President, this seems like Republicans trying to get Dems back by trying to portray Obama as an empty suit. Time will tell, but so far the fact don’t bear out this meme.

      Past presidents generally just used the teleprompter for the SOTU.

      It’s not a question of having to memorize a million speeches. It’s a question of having a solid understanding of what the speech is about. If you understand what you’re talking about, you don’t have to memorize the words of a speech. You make up an outine of the order you want to present your basic ideas, and as you’re speaking, your brain fills in the rest.

      You just don’t get it. Obama doesn’t understand what he is talking about – that’s why he needs a teleprompter, which has the words which someone else has written. He can’t wing it, because he doesn’t know it.

      Yes, but Reagan had Alzheimer’s and would reminisce about his “war experiences” that came from movies he had made, so that excuse does nothing to reassure me about why Soertoro/Obama can’t talk and think at the same time.

      And no, I don’t want our presidents to “memorize speeches”; I want them to know the facts before they give a speech about them; you know, like when we did reports on a subject in elementary school and junior high.

      And since you mentioned JFK, look at one of his old press conferences where he did all those extemporaneous answers to questions even from Helen Thomas and then take a look at Clinton’s lengthy replies to complicated questions about issues. That’s the kind of president we want involved in solving this crisis, not one fed replies from a researcher to a teleprompter to Soertoro/Obama!

      Why does everyone assume just because we see what a fraud Obama is we must be Republicans? MOST of the older posters here were driven here from other Dem blogs because we supported Hillary. WE are the ones that knew Obama would be this bad, (altho I have to admit I thought it would take 6 months before more people would catch on, surprised he is a joke in less than 3.) SO when trolls come here and say Bush was worse, it doesn’t bother most of us since WE were smart enough NOT to vote for Bush either.

However I am surprised at those here who actually look to fox news as real news (not that the other networks are any better, but still fox news?)and can even stand to listen to rush limbaugh. I mean rush is so blatantly misogynist not to mention racist as well.

        Like most here I have also stopped going to the other democratic websites.

        I come to No Quarter and Hillaryis44 (an excellent site) for news now, can’t trust any other website or ‘news’ network.

          I used to watch MSNBC almost 24/7 and some CNN during the primaries when I couldn’t stand the bias, I turned to Fox (I didn’t even know what channel they were on) They were at least fair to Hillary and were the only network TRYING to get any of Obama’s record out there. Even the Clinton Campaign said Fox is the fairest to her, They aren’t perfect, but they are certainly closer to it than the others. Actually the person on Fox that got on MY nerves the most was Colmes after he drank the Koolaid.

      What exactly has he handled competently since taking office? Nominations (how many were withdrawn because of tax and other issues? How many positions do not even have nominees?) Foreign Policy (Russian button, English DVD’s, Letter to the wrong French president, video to Iran, etc. …) Handling of AIG, the running down of the economy to get the partisan bailout passed then trying to say “it aint so bad” to get his bloated budget passed (a budget that the CBO says he miss calculated to the tune of $2.9 trillion), his appearance on Leno insulting Special Olympians and on 60 minutes laughing about the economy.

      What about him “so far” hasnt indicated an empty suit? What has he handled well? I’m waiting.

Obama refused to discuss the plan with VA representatives at a WH meeting. The TOTUS only backed off when he realized that it had no support even from Pelosi.

                    I DID noticed most of the programs involve helping Minority groups, schools ect. Why can’t you volentterer to help any NP you chose IF they force you to vol?

                      I have done a lot of volunteer work in my life but the only minority I think is truly in need of support is the Native American, particularly since they don’t have a sense of entitlement. (The bots are going to absolutely explode, I know).

    We must remember that Obama was educated in ILLINOIS. I am a retired truck driver and talked with many people in Illinois. Please explain to me how anyone can be raised in Illinois, go through Illinois schools, listen to Illinois radio and TV stations, but still don’t know the proper way to pronounce their state’s name.

    This reminds me of one of Carol Burnett’s TV shows. She would let the audience ask her questions. One man said, “I’m from Illinois…. (he pronounced it with the “s” sound at the end) She interrupted him and said, “That’s Illinois (pronouncing it the proper way). The audience and I laughed for a long time. The guy never finished his question.
