I am a Hillary Texas delegate at the county level in Texas. I "had" a Hillary sign in my front yard. At about 11:30 p.m. on 3-22-08 a large brick came flying through my upstairs window smashing the glass. I don't have any enemies. The police said that it would have to have been a man that threw the rick because of where the brick landed and the size and weight of the brick. None of my neighbors had bricks thrown through their windows. I was the only person with a Hillary sign in my neighborhood This campaign is getting rediculous. Wright abused the pulpit – it was meant to teach a message of love and forgiveness and not hate and retaliation. Those who use their pulpits to preach beliefs and actions not consistent with the Scripture’s teaching will be held to account for their sin. And, because the Bible also teaches that those with more knowledge have a higher accountability, they will receive the greater punishment. That doesn’t mean that I don’t believe the doctrine of the security of the believer but I also believe that there will be lost blessings and the eternal knowledge that a person “broke the rules” and incurred God’s displeasure in so doing. Jesus said that if we are truly His disciples we will prove the relationship by the love we show to one another. I am sorry but I don’t see the evidence of discipleship in those who preach hatred and revenge. I also have strong feelings about a person who says they sat in the congregation for years but disagreed with the pastor’s preaching. I have left churches because I didn’t agree with the pastor, his teaching or his leadership. That is the strongest way I know to make my views known. I see Obama as an opportunist who joined the largest church in Chicago for political reasons and sat through 20 years of hate-filled sermons because he agreed – perhaps not with the details but certainly the spirit behind the rhetoric. If it didn’t affect him, he must wear Teflon suits or he sleeps through the sermons (not possible in a black church, too much interaction). When I saw the clips of Obama’s disavowal of Wright, I immediately branded the whole thing as a pack of political lies. He is a wonderful orator but the best speeches need to be founded in absolute truth. That was another attempt at manipulation. I guess the thing that bothers me is his defense of the misuse of the pulpit. Wright is not the only person that ever did that but it upsets me every time I see it happen.
