Solidarity!

A word on the writers strike…..

Many diaries have been written about the writers strike led by Alegre and joined with overwhelming support by a vast army of Hillary supporters. But one element of this strike has apparently escaped the notice of many of it’s members. As someone that never posted at that other place I couldn’t sign onto the strike but did and do express my solidarity with it’s purpose. And to that end I would like to offer a few suggestions to make this writer’s strike more effective.

The first thing that EVERYONE needs to do is to stop mentioning the name of the site that the writer’s strike is all about. I know that some of you are wondering that if we don’t mention it people won’t know where we are talking about. But believe me. This is a biggie. People know.

And why should you stop mentioning the name? Quite simply so that none of the efforts of our stories are allowed to be crawled by google or anyone else and added to any search engine promoting that place. If the whole idea is to dry up advertising support then let’s be smart about this and not give anyone any reason to visit there. So no more quotes too.

To that end this is what I propose:

If you must mention the name of the place, change it to something that people will understand but the search engines won’t.

Here are a few examples:

Daily Bullshit

Daily Ho Bama

Daily Obama Butt Munching.

If you want to refer to just the leader use his nickname: MarkAss

Or if you want to be more intimate only use: Ass

You know, something entirely appropriate.

And when referring to the leader and his horde of ass wipes say something like:

MarkAss and the Daily Obama Butt Munchers.

They really sound like a rock band. In fact I can almost hear their first big hit single: I’m not religious but Obama makes me want to get down on my knees and do something.

Over and Out!

I stopped going to The Daily Bullshit a long time ago. Even before they became allObama/all the time they didn’t seem to want to hear other points of view. Disagree and you are immediately:

    A. A troll
    B. Trailer Trash
    C. Rovian

After that the names get less classy and tend towards the scatological.

I am an old Union Person from way back and thus do not cross picket lines. Remember that should you be tempted to “click” just once or twice to see if they are still as nut-so over their as they were. Clicking on the Daily Bullshit is crossing a picket line.

    • PMS

Yes Ma’am. I don’t cross picket lines either.

    • izarradar

You forgot to mention that other insult often hurled against those who dare to have a different opinion: racist. If you don’t support Obama, well then, you must be a racist. Good-bye and good riddance to Daily Krap.

  • grlpatriot

LOL. I agree with you, Flea.

  • Shainzona

LOL on this Monday morning. Thanks for the reminder for solidarity!!

  • jwrjr

I also have joined the readers’ strike. I no longer visit the Daily Obama, and am considering adding a few others. Only rarely can I read an entire page of Obamaflash before I exceed my rda of Clinton hate (a very small amount).

  • Michael Lafferty

This is clearly over the top, and inappropriate. It has no place in civil discourse and the tendency to pursue behavior downward to the lowest common denominator—while simultaneously claiming the “…they started it”—is childish and clearly counterproductive.

If you must refer to Markos M. Zúniga and the D*** K** by other terms, how about the non-offending yet still playfully sarcastic ‘Great Orange Satan?’

    Seriously.

While many casual contributors there behave badly, you appear not to want those who provide such platforms to censor the posts of their contributors, an observation I make based solely upon the content you just posted and the fact that it is still here. Why would you hold Markos to a higher standard than Susan or Larry?

You dramatically lower the value of your claims, and therefore of all material posted at No Quarter, by ‘dumbing down’ the narrative and engaging in the very behavior you condemn of the part of others. Please reconsider your ill-advised approach to dealing with the boorish behavior of some—maybe many—of those who post at D*** K**.

    • simon

Why would you hold Mar*** to a higher standard than Susan or Larry?

Does he take money from political candidates, without full disclosure?

Someone on another blog made the point M$$$$$ endorses certain candidates, asking others to contribute money to their campaigns, and might do so without disclosing he has in fact been hired as a consultant by that candidate.

      As he did with Dean.

So he lacks credibility, and may be deliberately misrepresenting himself, just another shill as opposed to an independent voice, clear deception.

      For starters.

(You know, in the same way Obama buys super delegates, or perhaps press. Obama’s support is bought, voters have a right to know, say, Richardson is supporting Obama because Richardson reelection committee received a large donation from Obama’s campaign. Voters should know Richardson doesn’t support Obama on merit).

Take Donna Edwards, for instance. K$$ solicited donations for her through act blue, if it turns out he was given money to do so, without disclosing said fact, Edwards should have to donate any money she received from k$$ to charity.

      • CognitiveDissonance

Richardson is supporting Obama because Richardson reelection committee received a large donation from Obama’s campaign.

Simon, do you have a link to that? This is new information to me, and if true, I’d like to get that news out.

        • simon

say, Richardson is supporting Obama because Richardson reelection committee received a large donation from Obama’s campaign

I’m sorry, Oxy, I should have been more clear in my what if, I thought the use of the word say was enough to denote a supposition.

          My mistake.

But given McCaskill, there is precedence.

  • MarkL

    Orange Republic is my favorite.
Little Orange Fascists is another candidate.

  • HistoryGuy

    You forgot:

    Daily Kurse

    Daily Cult

    Daily Obambi

  • Eurogirl70

    You can add

    Air Obama

    Huff-N-Puff Post

    Obama Talking Points (for TPM)

    • simon

      Air Obama

      Huff-N-Puff Post

      Obama Talking Points (for TPM)

David Axelrod, Tony Rezko’s doppelganger, also represented Eliot Spritzer.

What is Axelrod’s connection to this media aggregate?

My next question would be “who got what?”

And the Axelrod/Spitzer/Obama connection is very interesting.

      • Eurogirl70

        Simon:

Maybe someone should be looking into Axelrod and the “Emperors Club”

  • Nancy

LOL, Flea. I was going there to check the front page, but when the frontpage started going south, I stopped going there a few weeks before alegre’s call to strike. I gladly have deleted that link from my browser. I’ve always thought that the tenor of that place is driven by the gargantuan ego of it’s owner. He’s always been a mysogynistic blowhard who I find easy to ignore.

    Thanks for all you do.

Solidarity would mean that both the Obama and Clinton camps either get back to discussing pertinent issues or join forces decide who is on top, pivot and turn towards McCain. McCain is getting a free press pass on his lobbyist issues (seems to be forgotten) his very serious blunder about Iran this past week, Senator Lieberman (liarman) hanging over his shoulder at every event (home and abroad). McCain’s press barbecues are paying off so is this persistent and destructive
    in-fighting.

After seven years of one of the most destructive and catastrophic Republican administrations that our country has ever witnessed. At a time when the polls should reflect a huge win when the polls report the numbers of a race between Obama or Clinton against McCain. When it should be a logical “slam dunk” for the Democrats it is not. The Democrats could lose this fall folks it is not a sure thing.

    The Democrats’ anti-momentum
The ’08 race has revealed the weird science of the Democratic primary system — and the true problem with the long Obama-Clinton battle.

I always liked the name The Third Estate Sunday Review has used for that site for about two years now “The Daily Toilet Scrubbers.”

    • simon

I wonder what laws the blogs are subject to, in regard to financial disclosure, and candidate support.

I wonder if they’ve ever had to face an audit from the IRS.

      heh.

  • Dora Ratquila

How about the Daily COST (since that site has prostituted itself to the highest bidder)? I was never a fan then so no loss. I used to frequent the site that I now call Bust Flush (given its stinky style of toilet journalism). Ha ha

    • simon

But you know, I donated to Donna Edwards, because I thought she was a worthy candidate, via K$$ rec, and her own record.

But if she’s a part of some larger scam, I want that money taken away, and given to a charity.

See what happens when you betray the public trust?

  • JoeySky

    I prefer DailyO.

Don’t care about that site. don’t go there. don’t miss anything.

I’m are kool-aid free, cult free, dailyO free.

  • A

How about the Orange Obama 527

  • roseeriter

I loved the ‘Markass’ suggestions. Damn I’m still chuckling at that one. LMAO!!

  • DET

    1. Great advice, I hope everyone adheres, don’t even peak at these sites, it’s not worth it, we show up as hits and drive revenue. Don’t visit, don’t mention. They gave up all journalistic integrity, so I have no remorse in assisting to put them out of business. I was part of that community for years and always thought we were better, not anymore, the only difference between them and FOX is whom they propagate for.

    2. What will Richardson need re-election money for? He’s serving his second term as Governor, he cannot run for a 3rd term. Clearly there’s a deal, but Richardson will never get his prize, Obama CANNOT be elected President. If he’s the nominee, Dems are toast. He’d have been better off brokering a deal with McCain.

  • PamFlorida

Richardson has huge debt from Pres. race. I got an email asking for money to help pay down his campaign debt.
About those other places that we are not mentioning, don’t forget BackLash (they are BEGGING for money to keep site funded).

MarkAss and the Daily Obama Butt Munchers.

They really sound like a rock band.

    Wow.

    First time commenter.

  • http://donnadarko.wordpress.com donna darko

If we use it, in solidarity, of course, it would really shut them up.
