Barack and Michelle Obama’s miniscule donations to charity are right in keeping with George W. and Laura Bush. For all the talk by the Bush’s about the importance of reading and libraries (Laura) and our troops (George) they do not give donations to any of these causes. In fact the Bush’s give to 4 churches (they do not belong to) and a cancer center in Texas where George’s younger sister, who died, received treatment.

As for Michelle Obama, who tells middle America to forgo the corporate world, you can see that she holds onto her own little slice of the “American Dream” and is not one for sharing.

In fact both Michelle and Barack, who liken themselves to be “Kennedy-esque” seem to have forgotten one of his most important legacies: “Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.”

Those relatively unlucky non-combatant civilians assigned by US State Department to the Green Zone in Baghdad cannot claim combat experience simply because mortar rounds often rain down on them.

Can’t you simply say that Senator Clinton willingly went to Bosnia as a representative of the US Government, and may have been—at times— in great danger from real or potential sniper fire? That this action shows a willingness to take risks and exert leadership?

What’s with the approximate ‘…she took a bullet, he was to scared…’ inference all about? You impugn the experience of all veterans, particularly experienced combat veterans, who have endured tremendous dangers and stresses day to day while actually assigned to a combat theater, and engaged in confronting the enemy.

Even more reprehensible is the fact that he seems to have paid very low wages to his Hispanic name sounding nanny, 6.000.00 a year in 2006, that’s a real bargain. When I had to get after school/day care for my son 15 or so years ago the going rate was minimum 100.00 a week, so he gets two kids taken care of for 6,000.

In 2005, the non-Hispanic nanny must have fared much better. The total for child care that year was 9,000. some, expense went down when the Hispanic help took over. Exploit Hispanics much? Probably. I would like to really hear Michelle and Obama’s explanation for this.
