Well, well, well. Remember George Bush senior? Remember when he promised, “READ MY LIPS. NO NEW TAXES.” Yep, that was a dandy moment. It paved the way for Bill Clinton handing George Sr. his ass because Mr. Bush reversed himself and imposed new taxes. It would seem that American voters are not complete fools. They do remember campaign pledges and expect candidates to deliver.
When you promise repeatedly to deliver 95% of working Americans a tax cut you better damn deliver or else. This is not good for the Obama team. We will be doing more than reading his lips. If he keeps this up it will surely lead to his ballot-box demise and the political obituary of another one-term President who failed to keep his word.

Actually – Just for 10 years. Clinton is the last President to have lifetime protection. Of course That One may leave with so many different enemies he may get special dispensation. Barf and gag me with a spoon.

If he is impeached and convicted, he won’t get anything. Even if he doesn’t go to jail, that’s up to the judiciary if they choose to follow through on the Senate impeachment conviction, he loses all perks for ex-presidents, pension, SS detail, everything. Think of the savings to the taxpayers! Might even approach the amount he is spending flying around the country, avoiding doing his job.
KintheNorthwest
I am praying that Obama is either voted out or impeached.
Heaven help us if some stupid idiot tries to assasinate him. The last thing this nation needs is this guy as a martyr for the next several generations.
andrew191
That’s why my father was furious when JFK was shot. He knew that martyrdom would elevate him far beyond his achievments. And my dad was right.
PainkillerJayne
Bill Clinton is a national treasure ……………………….24/7 is good for me
C.S.
To be fair, it’s harsh to judge any president who dies in office with those who completed one full term. And many of the “accomplishments” of LBJ were Kennedy’s ideas. Most of the nation was more concerned about how the assassination had happened rather than concerned over any “martyrdom” that might be bestowed upon JFK.
But Soertoro/Obama has nothing in common with any other president except GWB because those two are the blueprints for stealing elections. When you consider the very public fact that the Democratic party took delegates from other candidates and gave them to the guy they ran as Barack Obama to force his selection, you would think voters would be more concerned in making sure that never happened again instead of acting like he is a legitimately elected president subject to the rules of impeachment. Those superdelegate members of our legislative branch of government that made him “president” are not suddenly going to play by the rules of Our Constitution and these past two months have proven that.
andrew191
There is a VERY plausible argument that JFK “stole” the election. Consider the usual deceased voter mischief in Illinois. Unlike Al Gore, Nixon conceeded rather than getting into the type of tangled mess that Al Gore plunged the country into. Nixon had the integrity to put country first.
Subsequent reviews and recounts by the types of entities that would have loved nothing more than to show Al Gore the winner in Fla. have proven conclusively that Bush WON, no matter what standard you use! If Anyone tried to steal the election, it was Al Gore who withdrew his concession, and initiated a law suit. And it’s a possible sign of dementia to be clinging to a risible myth for more than eight years now.
I’mFedUp
And the good news is that not only would Gore have been the worst person on the planet to be in office when 9/11 happened, but the bitter loony left then went out and spent four years figuring out how to commit caucus fraud, how to promote a total loser, criminal POS fraud Obama, stab Hillary in the back, and deprive Americans of their vote. Oh yeah, and rather than use the court system, this time they used threats, death threats, harassment, document forgery, you name it. No wonder I am the most proud new member of the GOP.
elise
andrew, Al Gore won the popular vote and if he had been president, I’m sure we wouldn’t be in Iraq.
I’mFedUp
That’s naive elise, but I can assure you we would probably be dead had it been Gore.
beachnan
From what I have read, Gore would have been the winner. In my opinion, it is impossible to say whether or not Gore would have handled 9/11 it any better or worse than Bush. One might even say, that had Gore been President, we may not have had a 9/11.
I’mFedUp
Well, we can go back to “if we never had Bill Clinton we wouldn’t have had a 9/11.”
We can all revise history, or say “what if?” I’m glad Gore didn’t win and that’s my right. But, worse, I am FREAKED that Obama won. It’s a big difference. Gore, Bush, Clinton, all of them…politicians. Not Obama. This is another game altogether and I really wish more people would spend time worrying about what’s to come than talking about what could have been.
andrew191
The winner isn’t necessarily the one with the most popular votes elise, you know that, so it’s a pointless argument. And hypotheticals like “we wouldn’t be in Iraq if Al gore had won” are equally pointless. It’s this kind of obsession with immutable events that sent Capt. Ahab and his crew to a watery grave.
Senneth, formerly Snickers
Andrew, Gore won the election. I’ve also read the results. If Bush had not stooped to stealing the election we would not now be saddled with That One. 9/11 may not have happened (who knows after all) and we wouldn’t be in Iraq. I’m a liberal Democrat who, like many here, voted for McCain. Yet you seem to be consistently so partisan while posting here regularly, that I despair we will ever be able to band together and get rid of this Congress in 2010 or oust That One.
I’mFedUp
Aren’t you doing the same thing? No offense but your side needs to get off the RELENTLESS Bush stuff so that we can bond together and get Zero out before he does too much damage. The Dems pulled more voter fraud than the GOP could have EVER thought of and THEY saddled us with Zero. You’re forgetting that it’s your own corrupt team that stabbed Hillary and your own corrupt party that brought Zero in the first place. The GOP certainly didn’t find him, groom him, commit fraud for him, steal the primary from Hillary, and therefore bring the destruction of America. Unless and until you guys take the credit for what your side did then you have no business even discussing Bush. Period.
andrew191
We’ve never sent men to the Moon, the earth is flat, con-trails are evidence of an intentional destruction of our atmosphere, the earth is only 6,000 years old, and Al Gore won the election. There’s evidence out there to support all of that nonsense, that doesn’t make them true. Gore LOST, and we’re better off for it.

That is my biggest fear as well – that he would be assassinated. It is hard enough to take all the crazed frothing and fawning over them now – comparing them to the Kennedys as well as other insanities. If we think it is overreaching now, imagine him replacing MLK as the most powerful, effective AA leader of the 20th or 21st centuries.

YOu aree absolutely right. That’s why Nixon resigned instead of facing impeachment…he wanted to make sure he got his “perks” after leaving office.

It would seem that American voters are not complete fools.
Ok, Larry, I have to disagree with you on this one. They were absolutely fools to believe that Obama could do all the things he promised and cut taxes for 95% of Americans. People needed to ask themselves where all this money would come from in the first place!
I do not understand why experience did not matter at this particluar time in history.
I have always despised uniformed voters and this time takes the cake. Please do not allow me to be unfortunate enough to be standing next to an Obama voter when I am in a bread or gas line!
Diana
They didn’t care, they still don’t. I asked repeatedly to those supporting Obama how they thought he was going to get the money to make good on even a 1/4 of his promises. We don’t live in Neverland, the money has to come from somewhere and we don’t have it. All they saw was the rich needed to be brought down. Without realizing they weren’t going to bring the rich down, all they were going to do is bring their own families down. Who did they think paid their salaries?
We can’t afford socialized medicine, it’s a fantastic idea. I agree, every person should be given healthcare equally. It’s just not feasible in a country this size, so the truly poor will be the ones to suffer even more. Look what smaller countries have had to sacrifice to try and support it. Look at health care in China that is a country about this size. It’s so bad they’re moving into the capitalistic view of healthcare. The system they currently have in place, the poor have basically been prohibited from any medical care. Without some people paying higher premiums to balance the system here, so the poor can get free medical care, we won’t be able to support it either. It’s a fragile system, with no easy answers. http://tinyurl.com/c4re8d
At the same time we can’t afford to keep supporting these very same people that want nothing more than for us all to die. They continue to grow in wealth, while we become poorer. We’re basically paying these people to kill our families. It has to stop, we should be drilling here until we’re able to support ourselves(engergy)in other ways.
If China, Brazil, or any other country for that matter doesn’t want the relationship it has with the USA. We need to re-open factories, put American’s back to work and let them sell their wares in other countries. I’ve gained a lot of respect for China over the past few years at the strides they’ve been taking. At how far they’ve come in the past few years in human rights/medical care, etc. I realize they have a long way to go, but they’ve come a long way. Now I’m starting to loose it again. There are many other countries that will want to work with us. Are more than willing to work alongside of the USA. There is zero reason to work with any country that wants nothing more than our destruction.
I think you understood exactly what I was saying. There are only two countries in the world you can compare our population too.
The rest have less than half our population. Or perhaps you’d like to share with us even one country with half the population we have here and that has socialized medicine that you would trust with your family’s healthcare? Japan? Sorry it’s not total socialized medicine you have to buy into one of the government groups that provide healthcare and it’s three times the average amount we pay.
So which country is it? Russia, Nigeria? Pakistan? Who’s example we should follow? As we watch our poor rot in the streets? Not getting any healthcare at all? Come on now they’re all about half our population. Surely you can find one that is a shining example of Socialized medicine, who’s example we can follow without resorting to finding a country less than 1/3 our size.
Here’s how one country is supporting their socialized medicine because of the costs and they only have 16 million people. It’s coming to other countries. if it hasn’t already under the radar. Or perhaps this is what you’d like to come to the USA? Until of course it effects one of your children or family members. Then it will be a different story. If a country this small has had to resort to this to control health care costs what makes you think we could ever in a million years support it? This report doesn’t even include the infants that were euthanized without the parents consent, simply because they were not born 100% healthy.
The Remmelink Report– On September 10, 1991, the results of the first, official government study of the practice of Dutch euthanasia were released. The two volume report (6)–popularly referred to as the Remmelink Report (after Professor J. Remmelink, M.J., attorney general of the High Council of the Netherlands, who headed the study committee)–documents the prevalence of involuntary euthanasia in Holland, as well as the fact that, to a large degree, doctors have taken over end-of-life decision making regarding euthanasia. The data indicate that, despite long-standing, court-approved euthanasia guidelines developed to protect patients, abuse has become an accepted norm. According to the Remmelink Report, in 1990:
2,300 people died as the result of doctors killing them upon request (active, voluntary euthanasia).(7)
400 people died as a result of doctors providing them with the means to kill themselves (physician-assisted suicide).(8)
1,040 people (an average of 3 per day) died from involuntary euthanasia, meaning that doctors actively killed these patients without the patients’ knowledge or consent.(9)
14% of these patients were fully competent. (10)
72% had never given any indication that they would want their lives terminated. (11) In 8% of the cases, doctors performed involuntary euthanasia despite the fact that they believed alternative options were still possible. (12)
In addition, 8,100 patients died as a result of doctors deliberately giving them overdoses of pain medication, not for the primary purpose of controlling pain, but to hasten the patient’s death. (13) In 61% of these cases (4,941 patients), the intentional overdose was given without the patient’s consent.(14)
According to the Remmelink Report, Dutch physicians deliberately and intentionally ended the lives of 11,840 people by lethal overdoses or injections–a figure which accounts for 9.1% of the annual overall death rate of 130,000 per year. The majority of all euthanasia deaths in Holland are involuntary deaths.
What is the difference between euthanasia and dying because you don’t have health care, Diana. The Netherlands need to change their system to protect it’s citizens against doctors who make an end of life decision, but that doesn’t solve the problem in the US. Pharmaceutical companies are making a fortune and Americans pay more for medicine that in any country in the world. If you are fortunate enough to have good ins coverage or have money, you don’t need to worry if you or your family members are ill. Otherwise you die or you go to a hospital which will treat you and taxpayers end up paying for your care. This is not to say Obama will do anything to solve this problem because I think this is another lie.
I’mFedUp
There are answers to it that are better than Universal Health Care elise. Some of us who do happen to pay for our health care don’t think we should wait two years to get our cancer treatment either. Yet again, we who work, pay our bills, etc. have to be dragged into the gutter by those who don’t. It’s a really simple problem that has answers that don’t mean that we all have to suffer so people get a free ride. This is America. It’s not going to be Canada, the UK, etc. I’m not paying for illegals to use the ER as a doctor’s office. No way. That’s a big part of the problem. Now the rumor is that hospitals are going to be FEDERALIZED for that very reason. ERs were made for EMERGENCIES. Period. I was just in one and I saw families bringing in six people at a time for colds, stomach aches, etc. What a bunch of crap. We need to reform insurance and make sure that everyone is insured. But I’m not going to watch my health be destroyed over people who don’t pull their own weight like illegals.
elise
I’mFedUp, you seem to believe anyone who can’t pay for health care is either an illegal alien or worthless and lazy. When a person makes minimum wage, losses their job or can’t get a job they put off going to doctors when they are ill until the condition becomes so serious they have to go to the er. What about preventive health care? That isn’t an option for them. Dental care, vision care, hearing aids. I don’t see how a society can hold itself up to be a model of Democracy when the health care is denied to part of the population.
I’mFedUp
No, elise, what I said was…your answer is just the usual make the rich pay for everyone else. That’s not the answer. Just like all of the welfare fraud and graft, if there was a system that worked without all the fraud and graft we would be in a better place. Throwing good money after bad is the liberal way of life. Some of us want it to be responsible, because it’s our money you are spending. Therefore a little accountability while we get screwed would be good. I never said that everyone who wants the free health care doesn’t work. What I SAID was that the people who are causing the problems don’t pay taxes (therefore they don’t contribute anything to the pot) and they are using the most expensive form of health care, the Emergency Rooms, to commit the fraud. I went to the ER last summer and my bill was $2500 for nothing. Why? To cover the tons of other people there who would never PAY their bills. Now, is that fair? You say “yes” that I should just give you all my money. I say NO. Someone should be regulating this and be responsible. Period. I agree that people need affordable health care. I don’t agree that I should just start writing checks for waste.
I’mFedUp
PS. This is the same liberal crazy mentality that crashed our economy. Fannie and Freddie…let’s just give people free houses, never mind who has to pay for it later. Now, the house I saved forever to pay for, in cash, is devalued by $400,000. Why don’t we ever get some responsibility from the left? Spend spend spend, and in the meantime I have plenty of friends who had the decency to keep renting until they knew they could actually AFFORD a house.
elise
I’mFedUp I don’t disagree there is waste and fraud. Medicare pays for Viagra and those cute little pumps to make erections, but doesn’t pay for hearing aids. I guess we can deduce from that the people in charge have a potency problem. The rich and greedy have compromised our entire way of life in this country. Far more than illegal aliens who work hard and pay SS and Medicare without ever hoping to receive anything in return. The CEOs of banks, ins cos and automobile manufactures should have to pay back what they have taken from us. Our congress people need to be held responsible and health care should be reformed. Richard Nixon is responsible for HMOs which are the greatest curse in health care our country has ever had. As a group, our country has no problem spending more than fifty percent of our taxes for the Pentagon and Defense department, but anytime health care is mentioned it is equated with socialism.
I’mFedUp
Well, yes it is socialism, and some of us don’t want that. We functioned fine for many years without it. And it violates every single principle this country was founded on.
That said, the liberals have to stop with the rich=greedy nonsense. The rich give enough, pay enough, etc. Could you ever be objective enough to admit that these social programs largely fail for a reason? No one is obligated to pay back “what they owe you.” Where do you get that? This is America and everyone has the opportunity to work hard and prosper. That doesn’t mean that you too can’t work hard and prosper. You aren’t entitled to the sweat of others. You can get your own money.
From my POV it’s the liberals who have literally destroyed this country. All the spending is going to get us nowhere really fast. And I still wonder why you think that, if I paid my way through college, worked my ass off, got a great job, started a company, etc. and make money that I am greedy and evil? It’s none of your business and it’s a real shame that liberal=jealous. God I can’t wait until 2010 when this country can go back to normal somewhat.
Senneth, formerly Snickers
I’m Fed Up, it’s not just the hospitals’ ERs, it’s also food stamps and a host of other programs, which is why border states are being hit so hard. Still, it’s hard to refuse people who are hungry or who are genuinely in need of medical attention.
I’mFedUp
We shouldn’t refuse Americans what they need, within reason. And, we should give the jobs the illegals get to the people here on welfare. Problem solved. ERs shouldn’t take people who are illegal. Period. They can get their long term health care in their own countries. Where does it stop?
We all know that there is rampant abuse of the system, like the folks that decided they could stop working and Obama would give them their free ride. Some of us who worked hard all of our lives, and are watching it all go away, don’t really give a damn anymore. Fair is fair. Watching 401ks disappear, houses go upside down, college funds, etc. vanish into thin air, and then hearing liberals whine that we have ANYTHING left at all, and to give it all to illegals or people who don’t work is really f**cked up.
Diana
That’s exactly what I’m saying Elise. It is a very fragile system. Right now our very poor can go to the hospital. They can get emergency treatment. Long term care if they’re terminal.
In most of the countries I researched, they don’t even get that on socialized medicine. They wait sometimes up to a year to get cancer treatment because they’re doing for the citizens that work. The productive(I hate that term) portion of society. This is a worldwide problem under every medical system.
I’m no different than anyone else here in believing we need to do more. I just don’t think Socialized medicine is the answer, because it get worse for the poor not better as it should. Including in many of the countries that have excellent health care.
Moving people to a flat 50% across the board won’t work either. People can’t afford to live now on 25K a year in this country. Now we’ll be taking half of what they make, which is how it is in every country I researched with Socialized Medicine. That is not helping the poor. That’s forcing even more to be homeless. Less food for their families. Which means they’ll also be less likely to even seek medical care not only for themselves, but their families.
Try telling someone making 30K with a family. We’re sorry but now you’re only going to make 15K, because everyone is going to pay 50% of what they make, but you will get free medical care! 100% of them are going to say forget you! I can already get emergency medical care for my family for free. I can get medical care from welfare for my children. I won’t be able to support them at all on 15K…There are no easy answers.

McCain tried to warn voters over and over again that Obama is a liar, but no one wanted to listen. Obama has no trouble lying or being caught in a lie, such as “There are no earmarks…”
I’mFedUp
This is the thing that is causing me such anger, despair, depression and rage…Aside from the fact that Nobama is trashing this country, it’s the sheer ignorance of the people who voted for him. Many of my Obot friends have changed their tune, thank God. But we all knew this would happen, and tried to warn people. I would have been fine with HRC, McCain or for God’s sakes even Ron Paul. Yes, people would be upset for their “party” and some people wrongly thought McCain=Bush. It would have made one side or another unhappy, just like every other election in US History. Someone wins, someone loses. But this is a whole other breed of cat. Just disgraceful, and they wouldn’t listen to us. I’m still so PISSED.
WMCB
Yup – whole other breed of cat is right. I kept trying to tell people (who assumed my opposition to Obama was just sour grapes) that this was different.
Look, I am older. I have been through MANY elections, and had my candidate lose plenty of times. This was not the same, because this guy wasn’t just “not my pick” or even God forbid “the other side”, he was DANGEROUS for this country.
But they poo-pooed it, wouldn’t listen. I’d have taken anyone who ran before Obama. I’d have taken crazy old Gravel, or Paul, or any of them.
I’mFedUp
Yup, me too. Our country has always survived, regardless. For all the railing on Bush, we’re STILL HERE. That’s why I would get so pissed when my Obot friends would just say I was a “Republican” for voting for McCain. I do like Senator McCain a lot, but I was standing in line at 5 am. to vote AGAINST Obama, not for a party. That’s what they didn’t get. That anything, any party, would have been better than the shit sandwich we got.

At the foundation of personal freedom is the right to make your own decisions, invest and risk your own capital, own your own property and keep that which you are willing to work and sacrifice to earn. It’s called economic freedom, aka capitalism.
But capitalism is public enemy #1 in America today, thanks to decades of class warfare and the art of division via social envy, all for purpose of political gain
.
Life, Liberty and the right to individually define and pursue Happiness has been replaced with the right of some to take from others against their will, in the name of a greater common good, better defined as the entitlement mentality.
Who is John Galt?
I just put that bumper sticker on the Moss Mobile today.
I’m not sure the Rolex Commies around here will get it…

I’m Canadian. Some in the US hold us up as an example of socialism. We do have more rules and regulations and more government interference, if that is what you mean. But our banks are perfectly healthy – the most healthy in the world at this time because of the restrictions put on them by the government. People here are still getting loans, just as they did before the crisis. No one ever goes bankrupt because of medical problems. I LOVE our health care system – not me or any of my family or friends or neighbours have had any complaints. The service is very good – and of course, free. The doctors make all the decisions about the care and the government just pays the bills. Health care is ‘life’ and not entitlement.
I am very (small l)liberal. The John Galt idea is good in theory. But he was intelligent, hard working and produced things. When many at the top are dishonest and do not produce anything of value – only take from others – the Galt theory falls apart.
andrew191
Your claim that your health care is free is remarkable. Does it just fall from the sky? Do your Doctors, nurses, hospital staff, etc work for nothing? When you claim that your Government picks up the tab, where do they get THAT money?
I was up at Whistler not too long ago and I got into a discussion about health care with one of the locals in a bar. I was complaining that the Labatts Blue that I could buy in the States for $15 a case was over $40 a case in Canada WHERE IT’S MADE!! The guy rather proudly boasted that while things in Canada are much more expensive, if he breaks his arm it’s paid for. I figured I had already spent a small fortune above what I would have paid in the States, so I asked him if I could break his arm to get MY money’s worth! He sadly turned down my request.
So, your health care isn’t free, I paid for it!
I’mFedUp
At least Canada had the common sense and dignity to turn Billy Ayers away…Speaking of Billy the Terrorist…
That they did Fedup……….ahahahaha I am still laughing over that
Marge
Good! Yes, there are ‘sin’ taxes. We do pay more for booze and cigs. And we pay a lot of taxes. So ‘free’ health care isn’t, of course. But….. our money does not go to insurance companies. Everyone pays for health care, and without the greedy insurance companies, the tax load really isn’t too bad.
Question: if it costs you $12,000 for health insurance for your family and then you have to fight the insurer to pay and have high co-pay costs – and then maybe you have to spend $5,000 before the insurance kicks in; and I pay $8,000 more in taxes than you do but everything medical that my doctor orders is paid for – just show my card…. who is better off?
andrew191
We would be better off with medical savings accounts. I agree that eliminating insurance co.s (a middle man) would reduce costs, MSA’s would do that. Reforming the legal process that allows frivolous lawsuits would create a HUGE savings. A pair of scissors the size of the Moon to cut through mountains of red tape would help.
For all of it’s faults, our medical system is still the finest in the world. It would seem to make more sense to focus on the problems instead of scrapping the whole system, or letting it fall under the control of the most spastic and awkward manager to ever to walk the planet (the U.S. Government). Our Government was NOT set up to run a 7-11 let alone a multi-billion dollar industry. And if it tries, we die!
I’mFedUp
This is (was) the greatest country in the world, with the greatest health care. It would be better to work it out another way, rather than socialize this poor country into the ground. I can’t believe we’re having a conversation in which it is debated that Canada has a better lifestyle. Wow.
sandi78
Our health care system may be the “best in the world” for those who can access it, but far too many Americans can’t, and that number grows every time someone else loses a job that provided health care. Our doctors, nurses and hospitals provide terrific care, for those who can pay. One’s ability to access health care should have nothing to do with one’s job.
That is the huge problem with the great American health care system, the delivery of said health care.
Nobody ever says that a National Health care system is free. It’s not, no more than a huge military is free, or education, or roads. Along with those other items that benefit the whole population, the cost comes out of taxes.
What do you consider a “frivolous” law suit? Usually, they’re the ones that you don’t personally benefit from. The cost is a very small percentage of the total cost of health care in this country. If doctors policed themselves a lot more carefully, then there might be a lot less need for such law suits.
I’mFedUp
Well if we didn’t have illegals using the ER for delivery rooms and doctor’s office visits we might not have a problem. The people who don’t belong here drain the system and costs go up for all of us.
andrew191
As an EMT, I’m required to spend a shift every once in a while at the Harborview ER (Seattle). My first time there was a real eye opener. The halls were filled with beds occupied by the usual drunks sleeping off the effects of alcohol that had rendered them unconscience and unresponsive. About 7 years ago one of the female drunks fell down and bumped her head, then retired to one of the beds for drunks. Several hours later she was dead of a head bleed (much like Natasia Richardson). Her family sued and was awarded a fortune. It then became SOP to give a CT scan for every drunk that comes through the ER doors. The cops can’t leave them on the streets, they can’t take them to jail because if they croak there the cops are in trouble. So they’re dumped in the ER. I once spent a whole shift doing nothing but wheeling drunks in and out of the room where the CT scan is. A procedure that you or I would have to fork over a thousand bucks for, is given to a dozen or so drunks every night for free to cover the hospital’s ass. All because of a FRIVOLOUS LAWSUIT!
Malpractice insurance is one of the largest expenses a doctor has, and for some specialists like obstetricians, it’s their greatest expense.
There is NO ONE in this country that does not have access to the system, whether they can pay or not! Nobody is turned away, even illegals and recidivist drunks. It’s the law.
sandi78
Right, nobody is turned away from hospitals that take federal money. That is the law. But the bigger, more important point is, why do those people have to wait until they need to go to an emergency room becaue they don’t have health insurance? We are hurting ourselves as a nation by not ensuring that everyone has easy access to health care without having to go to an emergency room.
As for all the drunk you talk about, it seems as though all of them are homeless and very poor. Hospitals have closed down recently, notably in Los Angeles, for, amongst other things, not providing care to patients waiting in waiting rooms. If someone is in a hospital waiting room, “drunk beds” or whatever and don’t get necessary care, then yes, the hospital is at fault. What is frivolous about that? It’s only considered “frivolous” because in this country, because of the way health care is funded, too many people have their collective knickers in a twist about who pays for what.
Yes, some medical specialties have ridiculous malpractice premiums. Rememeber what I said about doctors policing themselves? Not all doctors are good doctors. And yet they would like us to believe that all holders of medical degrees are equal when it comes to treating patients. We all know that is not true, yet without malpractice suits nothing ever happens to doctors who are known by their colleagues to be dangerous to patints. Unless and until the medical associations start weeding out the bad doctors, malpractice suits will continue.
Then another reason for htese suits comes right tto the subject here. As you say, obstetrics has one of the highest malpractice costs. There are a huge number of things that can go wrong during labor and delivery. That is why most mothers go to hospitals to give birth and how hospitals sell their maternity services – so that skilled medical care is right there if needed. When that skilled medical care screws up and your baby is born with problems that will require a life-long need for expensive medical care, and if it wasn’t your fault that the baby ended up like this, and you certainly can’t afford this care, what option do you have? Again, a single-payer, government-run health plan removes that issue completely, so it would also remove the major financial cause of many malpractice suits.
andrew191
Actually, the big, big, BIG point is that the whole debate about healthcare needs to be reviewed at a fundamental level. The premise that healthcare is a “right” is WRONG. The whole argument about the details of healthcare delivery and quality should then be framed within the understanding that it is a business, and it’s product is not a God given right. There can be NO RIGHT if it requires someone else to provide it.
50 years ago, few people other than communists would have claimed that they had a “right” to healthcare. With Johnson’s Great Society, medicare, medicaid, and the creation of employer provided medical insurance (medical insurance became a perk offered by employers to maneuver around Nixon’s wage and price caps), people started to assume incorrectly that health care was a right, because they had grown accustomed to having it. IT’S NOT!! It is also very important to understand that the explosion of medical costs runs remarkably parallel with the degree of government involvement. The more government gets involved, the higher medical costs get. There’s a fundamental law of economics that explains this relationship. And your solution is total government involvement? As a way of cutting costs? That’s insane!
Please read the article from the April 1991 issue of The Freeman (Vol. 41 No. 4) titled “Medicare: Prescription for a Fools Paradise” to get a better understanding of what government involvement has, and will, do to our healthcare system. Then get back to me if you have problems with my premise that government involvement in healthcare has been, and will be, a dissaster. (sorry, I don’t know how to post links, you’ll just have to do a minor search for the article.)
elise
andrew, life is precious no matter who. It is unconscionable for only rich and privileged to be given the health care they need. It is not true that indigents have the same care as someone with health ins. They are dismissed from hospitals ASAP and are treated by residents and interns without supervision of a staff doctor.
andrew191
Elise, food is necessary for life, so food is life. Rich people naturally have a far greater choice of the type and quality of food they eat. Should there be government controls and standards for the type, quantity, and quality of food given to every individual in this country? Should the government determine a standard diet for all? Who should be given the authority to administer the National Diet Mandates? Will the food police monitor farmers to make sure they only grow and produce products that the government has determined will maximize the nutritional needs of the public? Those sorts of programs are what led to famine in the Soviet Union, and caused that miserable communist experiment to implode.
Food, housing, clothing, and healthcare may all be considered necessities, but that does not make them “rights”. And touchy feely concern and empathy for the unfortunate victims of the primary law called “Life isn’t fair” won’t change that fact. Please read the article I cited above, then we can debate from a shared foundational reference point. Try this; http://www.fee.org/publications/the-freeman/article.asp?aid=797
It’s a great article even if you don’t like hearing bad news.
I’mFedUp
What’s the matter with you? It’s not just the “rich” who have health care. And by the way we don’t get it free. For God’s sakes I pay $1,000 a month for my insurance. Where do you get that we get it free? Indigents get the exact same care in hospitals and you can thank George Bush, Sr. for that.
andrew191
Here’s a sad but remarkably related news flash. It is now known that Natasha Richardson was initially sent to a medical facility in Canada for her head injury. The facility was equiped with a CT scanner but Richardson was not given the scan that may have saved her life. In the Canadian healthcare system they consider “cost benefit analysis” in their treatment of patients. Richardson didn’t qualify for a CT scan. So, in Canada, a glamorous movie star is denied the life saving treatment that is given freely to hapless drunks in the States. And you want to adopt a Canadian system here? Read the article I linked to above.
I’mFedUp
I told my mother about that today. How sad. The lefties want us all dead for their own free ride. Pisses me off.
Seattle Moss
Hello Andrew,
I was on the go yesterday but did take the time to read your comments regarding your career as an EMT and how you must work at Harborview medical.
First off thank you for all the life saving work you do!
You more than anyone can see what happens with socialized health care.
All you have to look at is how dirty and what a mess harborview has become.
andrew191
Sandi, this sad event with Richardson also destroys your argument for the necessity of lawsuits as a means for quality control. Richardson’s family will not be able to sue because they would in effect be suing the Canadian government. If government takes over our medical system, lawsuits would no longer be a factor for weeding out bad Doctors. In fact, bad Doctors would have greater refuge under the protective umbrella of the government than they do now, similar to the protection bad teachers have. The image that many people have of a glorious, efficient, and inexpensive government run medical system, is a cruel illusion created by equally cruel politicians to get your vote. Reality always destroys such illusions.

When we lived up in Plattsburgh NY, we would visit Montreal (nearest big city). Rarely bought anything there…everything was just so much more expensive. And our town was a BIG destination for the Canadians. They would come down in the busload and car load, buy tons of groceries, clothing ect… discard the bags in the parking lot (on the ground, don’t get me ranting about that:-), and head back to Canada. They did it because it was so much cheaper here in the US.
Yeah, they definately pay for healthcare in Canada…just through the backdoor.
LDW
Yes, the taxes on alcohol and cigarettes are probably higher in Canada than in the United States. $40 for a case of beer in pricey Whistler is probably in line with the inflated prices charged for everything in Whistler, including the fact that a small vacant lot will cost you more than a million dollars, and even a simple sandwich lunch at the cheapest restaurant will cost more than $10.
Yes, taxes are higher in Canada, but Canadians get more services from their government than Americans get from theirs. And even if you spent $100 a week on beer (that’s 7+ beers per day), you’d only be spending $5,200 per year, and not all of that is tax. What do you think you’d pay if you were hospitalized in the States with a broken arm? Do you think five thousand would cover it?
In Canada, medicare is a right for all permanent residents. You get medicare whether or not you have a job or switch jobs. You get medicare from the moment of your birth onwards. No pre-existing conditions can disqualify you. There is no ‘lifetime cap’ for your family. You can choose your own doctor, and don’t have to see whoever a local HMO decides to work with. In Canada, the doctor and patient decide on the course of treatment, and not some insurance company clerk whose only job is to deny, deny, deny.
Yes, there are problems and delays, and remote regions where care is not always state of the art, and where access to specialists can require travel (paid for by the government). But the United States has many problems with their medical system. It’s more expensive per capita than the Canadian system, and still leaves many millions with no coverage, and millions more with inadequate coverage. There are delays and mistakes, and regions where no care is easily available, and the government doesn’t pay for individuals who have to travel to get care.
andrew191
….”When many at the top are dishonest and do not produce anything of value-only take from others-”. Marge, this perfectly describes our government. And it’s government tyranny that drove John Galt away, and destroys capitalism.
Marge
I was actually thinking of the US banking system – and the huge salaries and bonuses for people who have produced nothing – and the CEOs of failing companies being paid huge amounts – but the government is dishonest, too…… Quite right.
But the John Galt idea is too simplistic in 2009. The companies that do produce goods have out-sourced to Asia. Today Galt would likely live in Shanghai or Taiwan. All the smart productive innovative people in North America could ‘quit’ – and we would never notice.
anon
“All the smart productive innovative people in North America could ‘quit’ – and we would never notice.”
I disagree. If productive, innovative people ‘quit’ it would only be a matter of months before food supplies and goods were exhausted. No engineers, architects, scientists, doctors, etc. = no replenishing of food and goods nor repairs, much less anything new. You need more than a hard hat and a screwdriver to maintain an energy grid, manufacture anything, maintain an edible food supply. Without us “productive bits of the economy” the unproductive bits would descend into hapless chaos pretty quickly.
Who is John Galt?
cynic
You seem to believe that all of the productive, creative people in our society are politically conservative.
I’mFedUp
No, we think that the people who voted for Obama, who did it because they thought he would pay their mortgages, buy their food and gas, while they sit on their lazy asses living off the people who work are the real stars of society.
Thanks for that 0Zero vote. Wanna bet it doesn’t work out too well for you?
http://deleted Buzz Latte
I knew someone in college that had a rubber stamp that said, “Who is John Galt?” It showed up everywhere on campus and had some people really scratching their heads.
I didn’t even know it was my friend that would stamp up everything. I found out he was going out at night and stamping notices, student bulletin boards and everything else just short of destruction of property charges.
Ah, I keep dreaming how fun that would be now.
Sort of like The Monkey Wrench Gang…
andrew191
Except that George Washington Heyduke is the antithesis of John Galt.
http://deleted Buzz Latte
Yeah, BUT they were both operating out of a self interest and making a statement against regimes. Be it commericalizing the southwest or striking because of the limitations of the free mind.
andrew191
Everyone operates out of self interest, so that’s not a good way to compare or contrast them. Galt was a creator of things on the highest levels of man’s achievement, Heyduke would likely hope to destroy those creations.

That’s pretty sad when Canadians are paying more attention to what’s going on than our own MSM. They forgot though about the people like me also stocking up on seed. Well I have to be able to grow something, can goods will only last so long.

IMFEDUP, excellent article, sadly is true. It’s possible for the real Patriot Americans be able to organize a “MARCH”. This time we can name it the ” FREEDOM MARCH”. I hope we can reach the million too. America should not wait, until the ” knife reach the bon”, like in a communist Romanian revolution. The people endured all the humiliation for almost 50 years and they just exploded. The end was catastrophic. I would never wish that to hapen here. Just a peaceful way to show how we the ordinary Americans really feel about our government.

So the adds we were “fed that don’t tell the truth” were Obama’s? Who would have guessed he was lieing? UMM the 18 million that voted for Hillary? and the people that voted for McCain?
Carlaforhillary
Love the video!!! Can I ask a question? Didn’t we get a tax cut with the stimulus bill? I receieved a letter with my paycheck saying that due to Obama signing the stimulus bill, I would be getting up to 400 back spread out through the year 2010 and 2011 and that even if you don’t pay taxes you will get something back. So that is different? If it was the tax cut, then Obama would have said that during the press conf. right?
Also, since the budget didn’t pass yet, isn’t it true that the tax cut may be included? (Not that I think it will be) Also, if we do get a tax cut, does anyone know how long it will last? I’m sure it will have some strings attached-like we get a tax cut now but it goes up double next year..
I want to post this video on my facebook page, but I just want to make sure I have my facts straight when I have to deal with 0bama supporters.
This issue is of a special concern to me,(and everyone in general) as I live in Los Angeles, where as of June 1, the sales tax will be going up to 9.75 percent…..
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out!
cynic
There should be a reduction in the federal tax withholding reflected on payroll checks received for wages earned after April 1st. Of course, some state officials are taking advantage of the opening to make a grab. If so, try to direct your anger accordingly. I generally like to be pissed off at the correct people as a matter of principle.
Ferd Berfle
try to direct your anger accordingly
I’m sure many on this blog would love to direct their anger accordingly but beating the living tar out of scrawny obamabots is against the law.

funny. Why yes, there was nothing more than I would like to have done then slap the guy who was wearing a “Bros before Hos” during the primary.
Carlaforhillary
I knew you would be the one to answer me Cynic, and I appreciate that.
And yes, I already figured out that my stimulus is getting voided by the sales tax going up 2.75 % So, I’m really not angry at 0bama about that. But then again maybe it is all a fed/state conspiracy…sort of kidding there…
Here in Cali, we also get taxed on our tax refunds!
I will however, be not be happy if we don’t get the 95% tax cut as he promised, then I’ll post the video. Really, won’t you be upset as well? He did promise it right?
I try to be angry at the correct people myself, hence the question.
Thanks again.
cynic
Yep. If he doesn’t ultimately make good on a tax cut for 95% of all taxpayers he’s going to pay the price in lost credibility. I would also be angry with him. The money would matter to me, but the breaking of an explicit promise would matter far more. If the tax cut doesn’t come through with the budget, he can only escape may blame if has fought hard for it every inch of the way. Just making a fight for show wouldn’t be good enough.
cynic
…only escape my blame, I meant to say…

I find it very interesting someone who chose the SN “Cynic”, would be the one to fall for all the hope and change and unicorn BS. Or who would believe Obama could increase all the spending he wants to his programs, but not have to raise taxes.

The $400 from the stimulus is just that – a one-time stimulus, going to everyone. It is not the tax cut he promised.
Hubby got one of those slips in his paycheck as well, and he makes well over $250,000.
Carlaforhillary
Thank you! That is what I thought. And I know your hubby isn’t getting anything.
WMCB
Yep. We weren’t for Hillary because we were worried about us, financially. She made it very clear that our taxes would go up, and we were okay with that. We backed her because we cared about our country, and our kids, and our neighbors, and our relatives – she would have done it responsibly, and with fiscal discipline. Most people don’t mind paying a little more, if it goes into the hands of someone they TRUST to do good with it.
Lyn
Do you remeber whenever Hillary had something she would spend money on, she showed WHER that money would come from? and then I remeber the debate and they asked Obam what he would cut since the economy was getting worse and he wouldn’t answer, that’s because he wouldn’t cut anything, just increase the deficit and increase EVERYBODY’s taxes.

I like this from ABC:
OBAMA/BANKER LOVE FEST-President Obama invited 13 bank CEO’s to the White House and didn’t yell at anybody. Well not that we know of anyway. Betsy Stark notes that when the financial execs “emerged an hour and 45 minutes later, they fanned out across the White House lawn with one message” (and it’s right out of “High School Musical”): “We’re all in this together”. To summarize: exit hating, enter cooperation. What’s with the bi-polar reaction? Stark: “The Administration is aware that it cannot accomplish its ambitious agenda for reviving the economy…without the partnership of the banks.” Let’s see how long it lasts.

Unfortunately we can’t undo the 2008 election (well, I want to believe we could if we truly wanted to get Obama out of office, but America hasn’t learned how to protest angrily enough yet!), but at least if he has already made himself a one termer than thank God, thank God, thank God. Now if I only believed we could survive the one term!
Not to be OT, but I do have hope that he won’t even be a one-termer. If more people do what these people in Georgia are doing…I’m just sayin’…it’s in our hands to undo what’s been done to us.

Barack Obama is the minnie vinilli of politicians. He lip reads his speeches on TOTUS. I can’t wait for the Internioonal journalist to show him using the prompter next week at G20.

I always thought his wording on that promise was tricky. 95% of FAMILIES making less than 250k? So did that mean that in a family of husband/wife working if the two combined make over 250k no cut—that could be 125 and let’s say 126 and no cut. It seems that is a lot of the upper end of the middle class and in most big urban areas that is a good income but it does not make you in the moneyed classes.
I did not vote for OBAMA. I did not drink the KOOL-AID. I knew all along he was a lier. He and his wife are master manipulators. They go home at night and laugh at how they fooled ALL the people who voted for him.. He is CLUELESS. He has never ran a local city, did you really think he could ran the whole US. This is a “Shame on America”. One of those European countries said this same thing.
The democrats , Pelosi, Reid, DNC, and Dean helped crete this mess. Now those of us who did not vote for OBAMA have to listen to this NUT every day, still in campaign mode.

If you think it will be easy to defeat Obama in 2012, take a good look at this. The “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act” (or GIVE Act), purports to expand the spirit of volunteerism in America. It is, instead, an insidious mechanism that uses taxpayer funds to build a uniformed cadre of paid ACORN “volunteers” who will be solely focused on re-electing Barack Obama in 2012.

I just want them stopped before we lose the country all together.
No 0bama youth, ACORN loses their support, maybe the census can be put right, and they can stop the insane spending. If the Republicans haven’t learned their lesson with GWB and GWB3,then it’s all over. I don’t necessarily believe that the Republicans are better than the Dims, just that maybe if they can gain a majority again, they might read the writing on the wall and give us what we need. At this point, I do believe they want the country to be saved from these traitors.
I’mFedUp
You might be right about just disempowering the scum. Does that mean Pelosi has to give up her big fat jumbo jet?
The GOP is looking really normal, safe and healthy to me right now. I pray they can perform. It’s our last hope IMO. The stuff that’s going on is just plain terrifying and might be irreparable at a certain point.

That is the biggest problem, the party was hijacked by Socialist/Communist under the guise of being Liberal. Liberal thinkers help/look for way for a country to progress. These people are the furthest things from Liberals.
Liberalism is a broad class of political philosophies that considers individual liberty and equality to be the most important political goals.
Liberalism emphasizes individual rights and equality of opportunity. Within liberalism, there are various streams of thought which compete over the use of the term “liberal” and may propose very different policies,
but they are generally united by their support for constitutional liberalism, which encompasses support for: freedom of thought and speech, limitations on the power of governments, the rule of law, an individual’s right to private property, and a transparent system of government.
All liberals, as well as some adherents of other political ideologies, support some variant of the form of government known as liberal democracy, with open and fair elections, where all citizens have equal rights by law.
Name one thing in that quote that has to do with the Democrats that are running things right now? How what they’re doing makes them Liberals? Or Conservative Blue Dog Democrats? How the primaries were run. Seems to me they’ve violated with HR1388 alone(The Give Act)the 13th Admendment.
I’mFedUp
What that batcrap crazy party is has nothing to do with “democracy.” But we all knew that was coming. Between Pelosi and Obama there’s nothing but greed, hubris, and Anti-America policy that belongs in a Banana Republic, not here.
Diana
Please let me add how Hillary was treated. There isn’t a Liberal in this world. A true Liberal that would have sat back while Olbermann was saying the things he did. While people were making the signs they did about her. While people were being called vile names for their opinions. The threats. The actual physical abuse. Trying to silence a large majority of the party. Etc…etc. Everything we seen during this election goes against the very definition of the word Liberal.
In total agreement FedUp. Too many from the party allowed their anger to cloud their judgment. We’ve seen nothing come from these people that is Pro-American. Constitutional. They ignored all the warning signs, when there were several huge red flags. Just in how he changed his mind during the primaries. First he was for it, then he was against it…on everything. His associations. “Tell me who you run with and I’ll tell you who you are.”
I’mFedUp
Diana, when I saw the sheer viciousness of the left, the threats, intimidation, thuggery, hate, violence, namecalling, you name it that went on with Hillary, the primary, Palin, etc. I almost left the country back then. The left has become so Anti-American, elitist and full of BS that it’s a disgrace to this country. I have to hand it to Hillary for keeping her cool through it all. I can say for sure that I wouldn’t have. When I read the letter her DC attorney wrote to the DNC about the caucus fraud, way back in March of 2008, and saw that she was totally ignored, I knew we were in big trouble. Here we have a NY Senator, wife of a two term President, and she is treated like she’s some sort of guttersnipe. These people have no class, dignity or sense of honor. Well, any group that gives credence to Donkey Brassiere has to suck to start with.

If Obama were a rapper, his name would be “lil Sham Wow” since he likes marketing himself as if he is an infomercial product
I’mFedUp
That’s funny because the Sham Wow guy just got busted for beating up a hooker in Miami.

The big difference between Porky Pig and Obummer is that Porky doesn’t use a Teleprompter. Neither does Bugs Bunny. Heh.

This is INCREDIBLE! I am saving this video for my “Obama Lies” Collection. We couldn’t believe this. This man lies from both sides of his fat mouth! I thought he was full of hot air when he reneged on his pledge to rely on the federal money for his campaign. He broke that, then FISA, then then and now the taxes fiasco!
Thanks for holding his feet to the fire, Larry. This should be read/seen by millions. They’re starting to wake up…hopefully….
please write a column on the Afganistan war he just started and his “strategy”….
DaddysDarlin
We never listened to his lies, we can spot a fraud a mile away! Too bad those who lied, cheated and stole the election for him couldn’t.
I have noticed that B**ch Nancy Pelosi is in need of a little plastic surgery lately, Obama must be keeping her up at night. That is when he isn’t busy with his promotional appearances on Leno or 60 minutes, the radio or the internet, we just cant rid ourselves of this tick, this disease that has been unleashed upon our country.
I hope to hell he is impeached and yesterday wouldn’t be too soon. The truth will set we Americans free, when this country realizes that most of them have been duped, they will throw him out on his ass, I am available if they need any help, any at all, just let me know, I’ll wait to hear from you, anytime……. ha ha. No seriously I am available.

Our medical system is perfect. Instead of spending tha money for changing it, better made it affordable for everybody. Lover the cost Stop the hospitals charging $ 30.00 dollar for a tylenol for MRI $2000 – 3000 dollar, for a colonoscopy 3000 and up. The government should stop this rip-off. My friends mother had one open-hart surgery,(she is retired) just for the room the ins, company charged her 65.000. The whole medical bill( I saw it) was 396.000 thousand dollar. She paid just 300 dollar. Who paid the almost 400 thousand and where that huge amount of money went. Medicare, Medidaid are not private ins, companies, so, where the money went?
I’mFedUp
The money is because people are using the ER like a doctor’s office, then not paying the bills. Since by law we have to take, and treat, anyone who comes through the ER regardless of their insurance, etc. then the people who never pay make us pay for them. There IS free health care in this country. For the illegals that drive around the hospital parking lots for 24 hours of labor, just so they can deliver in the ER. For everyone illegal here, who pays NO taxes, takes illegal jobs, sends their money back home, and then we pay their ER bills. If someone had the guts and brains to stop that, then health care would be more affordable.

Here’s a ray of sunlight: Last night’s news reported on the local “Camp Obama” meeting for our area. In attendance were a couple of our 1st term politicians (a County Supervisor, and a couple of district pols). Their big turn out looked to be about 25 or 30 people. No one has been coming to canvass at houses that I’ve heard of…I might call Dim hdqtrs and inquire…So much for taking the pledge.
Another ray of light…states are beginning to pass laws denying medical care and welfare payments to illegals. I know, I know, who wouldn’t have thought that was already law but the libs get around those pesky things for their supporters.
I’mFedUp
Thank God Annie. It’s the first step in real health care reform. We wouldn’t BE in this situation, as I have said on countless other threads, if we weren’t carrying the burden for those here illegally.
lorac
But people w/o insurance go to emergency rooms for routine health care – I don’t think they’d be allowed to pass a law that prevents emergency room care….
(unless they’re allowed to turn away the ones who don’t have a life-threatening condition – the people with colds, and wounds, etc)
I’mFedUp
It was George Bush Sr. who passed the law that mandated treating anyone, anyone, who goes to the ER actually, and I think we should get rid of it, especially since we’re going to give free health care to everyone anyway. Then why would anyone need to go to the ER? I think they should modify it and stop the fraud in the meantime. We can’t take the burden anymore.
daisyjane
We’re all screwed, I’m afraid.
I am probably a bit more conservative than many here. That said, what attracted me to this site and other PUMA sites was the notion that other people besides me saw a crime being committed in the primaries.
In the past, I was not a particular Hillary supporter, because I heard so many rumors about her. But she surely gained traction with me and others like me, in her Senate career. She proved to be a responsible and deliberate legislator. She has gained my respect.
If there was ever a single good thing that would come from having this nitwit in the WH it is this: We (the happy middle) are in this together. We can disagree on small things (is an abortion okay at 4 months but not 8 months?) and things like that. But at the end of the day, we are all Americans brought up in free market capitalism.
I suspect I’m not the only one who sees three long years of misery ahead. This character is clearly over his pointy head.
The most astonishing thing I’ve seen recently is how many members of Free Republic (yeah, THAT one) are wishing Hillary was in the WH instead of Mr. Teleprompter. As God in Heaven as my witness, I never expected to see that.
Here is, I think, the thing: Hillary is red, white, and blue. She had a completely normal American upbringing. I don’t, for a moment, believe she would sell this country out. She is a patriot, even if others don’t agree with how we solve problems here…she is not UnAmerican.
However, this current turkey IS UnAmerican. And everyone knows it. He is selling this country out, left and right, as fast as his evil ass can, to please whomever it is that is pulling his strings. He’s devaluing our currency, at a rate that is breathtaking. We will be paupers within a couple years, if this keeps up. Don’t expect the Republicans to help. They are valueless. Trust me.
This schmuck is making me wonder if I should fly to Lourdes and take a dip in the water, hoping for a miracle!

Last night after I read one article in canadianfreepress.com., I made a comment that didn/t go true. What I ment to say is, the people should not wait until the anger will take over their good judgement and act violently. The mob style anger scares me. What is better to do, ask our representatives to organize Town Hall meetings, where the people can express peacefully their desappontment. Remind them he/she was send to Washington to represent you the constituence not himself. And, if he/she can’t do the job, next time you will send somebody who will do. The AIG outburst scared me. The poeple shouldn’t be angry of them. They didn’t steal the money. It was given to them by the indolence of our senate, house and finally the president, who sign a bill without reading it first.BTW don’t attack the family and children. They didn’t do nothing wrong.

If, in fact, the promised tax cut ends up on the cutting room floor, then we have to start calling our President very simply what he is, a liar.
Ginger
But by the time of the election he had it down to anyone making more than 50,000 dollars would pay more, so he even went back on it when he was campaigning. He whittled it down every week……even he didn’t know what he was saying by vote time…………..so no one really knows what he promised.

When is the press going to wake up and see how Obama really brought his home is as much to blame for the housing crisis as anyone else he likes to blame
The seller of his home paid 1,650,000 in 2000 Obama paid the same 1,650,000 5 years later in June of 2005 when the housing market was on fire all the proceeds the seller wanted for the sell of his house was inflated on lot that the felone brought Tony Resko. This is so criminal this is gift he was a senator at time. You see all this info on Zillow

Isn’t this an old post? Did anything else happen on the Sunday talk show today.

We got a tax cut. $400–which is showing up in worker’s pay to the tune of $13.00 a week. Isn’t that so? Or am I wrong?
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t support Obama. But I think we may have forgotten the $13 tax rebate? Or could someone explain to me?
Obamaphobe
$400 a year tax break, $1,800 a year new energy costs to each household. What’s wrong with this picture?
http://firefox AnnieCollier
I don’t know. I did work (before I was laid off) last year so supposedly would qualify for that $400 stimulus (those filing taxes were the folks on that one). But then again, I also have SS so all of those beneficiaries were supposed to get $250 from the stimulus as well. But, maybe my stimulus is the $25 extra per week added onto my unemployment benefits…Oh, WTH, I’m so confused…wait…I think that’s the real point.

Obama’s in the White House. That’s the problem with any picture right now in America.
Tea, anyone?

CS, Kennedy “ideas” that he was afraid to implement because he thought it would hurt his reelection chances. So the LBJ person deserves the credit.

ConcernedMother…ROFLMAO. Cyanide happens to love Obama, so what can we do?

We’re certainly paying for failure at present, but it’s not for the failure of the guy who has only been in the White House for 90 days.
WMCB
Yes, it is, because he is doing all the wrong things to fix the problem he was left.
If I hired a contractor to remodel my house, and he screwed it up, I’d fire him.
Let’s say I hired yet another contractor to fix what he screwed up, and told him UP FRONT that it was going to be one hell of a job, the place was a mess because of the first guy. And he told me UP FRONT that he was more than capable of handling the job, that he could absolutely fix the problems. He showed me his plans, and assured me that the job was NOT too big for him to handle, and actually got offended if I suggested it might be.
Then he shows up. With a crew that is the SAME lousy subs who were working for the last contractor, and were ripping me off, and also with obviously too few guys to do the job. And he won’t stay on the job site, but keeps running off to god knows where. And he starts in doing the EXACT same things the first contractor was doing, but even worse. And he’s going WAY over budget.
Given that scenario, I’d be perfectly justified in saying he sucked. For him to reply: “But look at all this meeeeeessss that the laaaaast guy left! I didn’t create all thiiiiis!” is the height of stupidity. Yeah, it’s a mess – THAT’S THE JOB I HIRED YOU FOR, YOU MORON.
sandi78
Don’t forget that he was in the Senate for four years. Just because he spent most of that time running for president doesn’t get him off the hook. He helped create the mess he “inherited”.
Lyn
PERFECT description!!
Carlaforhillary
I was kind of thinking along the same lines..Everytime I hear Obama blame Bush, I cringe, and I think to myself, didn’t he campaign on saying he could fix it and fix it correctly? I don’t remember him ever saying I have this plan..not sure it will work, might make us worse off..elect me anyway.
Last week, I listened to his Town Hall out here in Cali on the radio. This is what he said paraphrased: Things will get better. I don’t know when, and I don’t know what will happen along the way, but things will get better. Everyone clapped, and I’m thinking-he didn’t say anything worth clapping over. He just said he didn’t know the answer. The follow-up question should have been: Didn’t you say during the campaign you knew what to do?
Elizabeth
Obama’s reply is that the post election ecnomic collapse was more dramatic than anticipated, of course conveniently blind to his own role in bringing down the markets, while proceeding to make the crisis worse, double the deficit, and skyrocket the debt.
Lyn
NOT to mention he WAS in the Senate the past couple years (even if he rarely did his job) while the Dems were the majority causing alot of the mess he “inherited” it’s not like he was a gov of a state that didn’t have anything to do with all the spending in DC
http://noquarter foxyladi14
what a great analogy thanks..
imustprotest
Bravo WMCB and might I add that Hillary also inherited a mess but she’s out there 24/7 sleeves rolled up WORKING on it!
Lyn
Can I vote “C” Both?
beachnan
Thanks WCMB. I love your analogy. I’m going to steal your description when I talk with an Obot. I am so tired of everyone giving him a pass. Yesterday, I was listening to a widely listened to financial program. I have heard this guy knocking different Presidents for years, so what does he say about this mess–Obama is getting bad advice. Well maybe if he studied the issues more, and actually did his job, he would know it was bad advice and not take it. Honestly, the buck stops with Obama. I am so disgusted with these guys who are so willing to not hold him responsible for his actions.
