Frank Luntz on Hillary’s Remarks about Rev. Wright [Update: Luntz on the Primary]

ALERT: Hillary will be interviewed tonight on On the Record with Greta Van Susteren (7/10 p.m. PST), on Fox News. [That two-part video is now up here at NoQuarter.]

Now, for some very interesting observations by Frank Luntz [Part One] on last evening’s Hannity & Colmes (and don’t miss Part Two below):

UPDATE: Below, Frank Luntz, Part Two, on the state of the primary race between Obama and Clinton — it’s fascinating, and every REAL Democrat will love what he says!

Special thanks to C.S. for getting the videos for No Quarter.

::::::::::::::::::

Isn’t that amazing how Wright went on sabbatical in January? Just in time for Obama to call him his “former” pastor?

And now Wright is cancelling ALL of his appearances in Florida, Texas and elsewhere. I wonder what that is about. I do wonder.

By the way, Mr. Obama did not attend any Easter Sunday services at any church this past weekend. He most certainly did not want to be in Chicago for the Easter weekend, did he.

I wonder what that is about. I do wonder.

Perhaps he held a private prayer session poolside in the Virgin Islands.

  • Joe

Obama didn’t attend services in Chicago because he wanted to lie low. He knew that if he did attend, he would have to face questions as to why he didn’t disagree with his church’s new pastor’s sermon.

    • salo

This is why all office seekers should be Episcopalian.

It’s a bland religion and easily adaptable to power because they are all so polite.

Bishop Desmond Tutu want to my Alma Mater at King’s College and he’s about as dangerous as a kitten–nad has 10 times the cred as Wrighty.

Great guy btw. Risked life and limb for liberty an justice for real.

  • Fleaflicker

    Let every vote count.

That pretty much says it all. And Luntz saying that Hillary has more Democratic votes was tremendous.

Thanks so much for these videos!

    • bert

The world turned upside down and topsy-turvey all at once since it was FOX saying this. FOX !!!!! The channel I love to hate. More news outlets need to be telling the facts like they are instead being de facto Obama cheerleaders and Obama campaign megaphones.

      • salo

That was actually a wide ranging discussion.

Luntz appears to be a fairly open minded guy.

It’ weird seeing them actually have a discusion that bings up all the arguments in a sane way.

        The World Turned Upside Down.

This is like Alexander at Gordium. Cut teh knot damnit!

    • Kourian

And Luntz saying that Hillary has more Democratic votes was tremendous.

Well she does. Always has had. But no mention of how the other one’s been encouraging Repugs to cross the line and vote (but they’ll vote Repug in November natch). And worst of all how Heifer Hannity cut Luntz off. What should happen is people say ‘now that’s true and we should look into it’. But they don’t. Democracy derailed.

  • Kevin

okay – someone makes a snide remark regarding ebonics rather than answering someones question – I call them on it, and now I’m being moderated.

I see. Yes, There is no discussion or interchange, let alone education as to why I should pick one candidate over the other. It’s merely mindless support of Hillary.

And how does that make the posters here any different than the “obamabots, etc.” they deride?

    • Kevin

Obviously the comment had nothing to do with this thread – apologies…

      • simon

your comments never have anything to do with anything of relevance, kevin.

        Why start now?

        • TeakWoodKite

wrong blog silly man. The apologies of rethorical beings are posted down at D’trickle down hope.blob. (speaking of scary)

I’m a “garlic nose” reporting in. But I already knew Obama was a fraud so I didn’t make the mistake of voting for him in my primary. Not so for many Italians I know. Apparently, Rev Wright doesn’t just hate white people, he gets specific!

I wonder exactly how many Italians there are in America? I do hear yet another giant sucking sound of votes being removed from this fake Barack Obama. Again.

I already despised Obama as a woman, but now I have yet another reason.

    Love,
    Garlic Nose
No wonder the Rev cancelled his bookings. I cannot wait to hear the bullcrap Obama spews on this one.

    • Kevin

see – that’s exactly what I mean. Earlier today, not you Molly, but one of the regular crew – who normally attacks anyone who exhibits anything other than total allegiance to Hillary let slip a racist remark.

The whole point of this is not to presuppose or prejudge anyone – yet, just as people complain about Wright and point out his supposed racism, they in fact harbor it and rather than just say what’s on their minds (which in fact may not be racist as your comment is – you’re merely reacting to what you heard).

Why are so many voters suddenly saying they’d rather vote for McCain than Obama… not on principle, but for for far baser reasons they’d never cop to.

Again – not you personally Molly (I would hope).

      • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Molly

Thanks for the benefit of the doubt Kevin.

I will NEVER vote for Barack Obama. You could put a gun in my mouth and I will not pull his lever. If you want to follow him, go for it. By the way, what nationality are you? I would suspect Reverend Wright had something to say about your people too.

I don’t hold it against you people who keep trying to show that Obama is real or ‘good’ or ‘honest’ or ‘a man of peace’. I know better and the burden is upon me to protect those of you who have been entranced by his spell. This is not a good man, Kevin. Not anymore than Bill Ayers is a good man or Tony Rezko is a good man, or Reverend Wright is a good man or Rashid Khalidi is a good man, or Louis Farrakhan is a good man.

        • Kevin

“I don’t hold it against you people who keep trying to show that Obama is real or ‘good’ or ‘honest’ or ‘a man of peace’. ”

I’ve never asked you or anyone to vote for one candidate or the other. I simply have pointed out some of the silly and weak arguments and supporting statements – and asked for better. Whether on this site or those supporting the opposing candidate.

Both sides have failed miserably… that’s what’s freakin’ depressing.

          • 1950democrat

Personally I’m beginning to see Obama as sort of deluded. I think his intentions are good; he was raised among nice people (though they were white guilt liberals, at least his grandfather).

But somehow he got the idea that the only way to be realistic and win is to do dirty Chicago style backroom stuff — like getting ALL your opponents thrown off the ballot. Or gaming the system in other ways, rather than making an honest up-front case to the voters. That is, he will do anything to win. It’s like he thinks his personality will be so great for the world that the end justifies any and all means.

Just as there’s a disconnect between his speeches and his actions, there’s a disconnect between his ends and his means.

            http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=a74fca23-f6ac-4736-9c78-f4163d4f25c7&p=10
Obama internalized the Alinsky maxim to always live in “the world as it is and not as we would like it to be,” and, starting with his race against Palmer, he put it to use. In the world as we would like it to be, every election should have more than one contestant. In the world as it is, especially in Chicago, you challenge your opponents’ signatures and knock them off the ballot.
When I asked Ron Davis if Obama is too idealistic, he laughed. “Barack knows how to play the game!” he told me. “I would hope we would not have a pie-in-the-sky type for president. These are not the times.” Galluzzo concurred: “First of all, he’s committed to his values. They are not bullshit to him. He personally believes the principles he’s espousing. Now, do I also believe he’s ambitious and will do whatever it takes to win? Yes.”

            • mimi

He’s confused and conflicted vis a vis his ethnicity. And he’s NOT a nice person. So forget that!

            • Fred C. Dobbs

              >>> Personally I’m beginning to see Obama as sort of deluded.

      • Fleaflicker

If someone spewed something racist here then please name names so we can discuss this logically.

      • TeakWoodKite

Let slip what? Where’s the link or the quote Kevin?

“The whole point of this is not to presuppose or prejudge anyone”

Are you for real? If you had read the last artical by FleaFlicker you would see prejudgement and presupposing going on.

more importantly than that I am trying to vet some one for president and some looking to be the democratic nominee.

      • Mike Howell

Because they’re white, jewish, gay, Italian and AMERICAN!

    • Kourian

Yeah Molly you’re right but these people aren’t playing fair. They’re going to hijack the nomination – and the election – if they can. That’s why feeling outraged as we all do isn’t enough. I just wish I knew what we’re supposed to do now.

    • Hope

Molly I am also! I’d like to throttle that asshole.

  • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Molly

Barack Obama is a racist sexist pig. Far as I’m concerned, the gloves are off when it comes to name calling. I am sick of this pig pulling the race card and teaching his cult members to do the same. They learned it from him. He learned it from the Black Panther Wright.

    Love,
    Garlic Nose.

    • Fleaflicker

I agree. The garlic nose was kind of taking it over the line a little for “Reverend” Wright.

      • CognitiveDissonance

Yes, when I heard the “garlic nose” reference today, I knew this man wasn’t just a racist, anti-American blowhard. I think he’s also just plain insane. These are the ravings of a lunatic, folks, plain and simple.

        • Mike Howell

A hate mongerer of epic proportions sure,

Less than a month ago I followed Taylor Marsh home from the Huffingpost and I haven’t looked back. From there I found so many great sites and this is one of my favorites. Thank you.

A long time ago during one scandal or another I would read posts on FDL or the orange one. They were just over-awed when the MSM “picked up” one of their stories, or were filled with angst because the MSM was ignoring them. And I thought “Oh, what’s up here”. I felt that they didn’t understand their new media and (I can picture what I mean to say but can’t find the words) something like having an interstellar space ship beg acknowledgement and validation from (what?) a horse and buggy.

Anyway, please stay rooted in reality and our media.

  • DisenfranchisedVoter

Everyone watch the Frank Luntz part II video. Luntz is on target. Man oh man, I don’t share the same beliefs as people like Luntz and Pat Buchanan but they are the only ones who are truly giving a fair and honest analysis this primary season.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

A FAVOR: Don’t reply to Kevin. He switched his user info and was able to escape moderation with a few comments. If we don’t reply, it’s easier to simply erase his comments. Thank you for your help.

    • dooner

I keep reading about people being “moderated’. What exactly are the rules? I saw a lot of profanity expressed by some but they were not moderated.
      Could you elaborate, please?

      • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

Some people have been essentially “spamming” the threads, with a large number of comments, interrupting otherwise interesting discussions. And regular visitors here tired of it, and complained directly to me by e-mail.

I do not censor people. But if they post too many comments that are intended to interfere with normal discourse, I’ll moderate their comments.

I have okayed a number of the comments today of those I placed on moderation because I am making an honest effort to be fair although I anticipate that those on moderation will not feel I am fair. So be it.

        • dooner

          Thank you.

How do I find your e mail?

Ok Susan, you have my commitment.

Susan you have always been fair with your moderation..Hope all is well with you.
well in three weeks Jordan leaves Iraq for his long trip home,
Everyday now seems to take forever..
So the other night Theresa asked me..Who do you think is better Hill or obama?
So i tried to explain thier positions and she stops me and asked..forget that crap, who will bring the troops home first? That’s who I’m voting for…And you guys thought policy wonk statements are the meat and potatoes of an election…Not with some people…many vote on 1 or 2 issues and with emotion..

Thank you for all you do here Susan!

Luntz and Buchanan are openly advocating for Hillary Clinton, and Buchanan spelled it out over and over again, that Hillary “Clinton will unite the Republicans” who may feel iffy about McCain.

So I am not so enthused about their endorsements.

    • Fleaflicker

I really don’t care what Buchanan thinks. If he really believes that Hillary will unite the Republicans more that Obama/Wright’s anti American rants will he is clearly delusional. Hillary Clinton is a patriot. No one disputes that. Not even Karl Frickin Rove.

  • http://thehorizontalworld.blogspot.com/ Mary Jo Kopechne

I wonder if Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean got to hear these videos. It’s mind blowing that Fox News offers more intelligent discussion on Florida and Michigan, Obama and Wright, and Hillary’s rightful place as the democratic nominee than our own party leaders.

Not only do I feel unrepresented by the Dem party now, I feel betrayed by them .

    • Fleaflicker

The good news is that we have the final say in all of this with our votes.

      • Andy

Talking about Pelosi; remember those comments on ABC ? Well seems that finally we were not the only ones to email her. It seems 20 Clinton supporters wrote her a stern letter about her comments and the need for her to rectify what she said ASAP (what she won’t do). Take a look, there is a link to the letter as well:

        http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

What I don’t know is what is what Reid is referering to; I don’t like the idea forcing SD on June 1st to
align themselves quickly. And I don’t trust Reid, Dean and Pelosi.

        • Andy

Does anyone know who the people signing the letter are? I don’t recognize any of the names.

(CNN says the are Clinton backers)

          • Andy

Ah, they are major donors to her campaign: GOOD!!!

    • Nellie

Mary Jo – I too feel betrayed

What bothers me most is that I thought the definition of leadership was getting out in front of and taking charge.

How on earth did Obama get this far?

      • barbh

Well, I’ll probably get called a racist by someone, but he got this far in part because he is an African American candidate and the AA community is coming out in very large numbers and voting for him. That is what Geraldine Ferraro was trying to say. His position is much more moderate than Hillary’s, his healthcare plan is not anywhere near as good, on Social Security he wants to “keep everything on the table”, just like Bush. Probably have us all invest in Bear Stearns… I’m in my 50s and just got news today that my company is changing their pension plan, of course it won’t favor us! So I’m feeling especially grumpy about just the Social Security issue.

        • mimi

I won’t call you racist, but I will say that your perception is wrong. The same amount of black people came out in support of Jesse Jackson way back when. Lest people forget Jackson registered over 7 million new voters under his Rainbow Coalition, named such because Jackson was attracting various ethnic working class people tired of ‘trickle down Reaganomics.’
What’s different this time is not the AA community’s support, but all these so-called white Progressives and left wing nut jobs who have aligned themselves with the fierce Hillary-haters faction. You can’t blame the Iowa Caucus on the AA community. AAs got riled up once it looked like white people were supporting Obama too. The math is simple: we comprise 12% of the voting populace. We can’t get a black president without the cooperation of a substantial number of white people. Once it became clear that white cooperation was in place, all systems were go.

When Ferraro pointed out that the country was ‘caught up in the concept,’ she was talking about white people and the MSM. AAs always vote their tribe, like everyone else. Believe it or not. Lots of AAs voted for Al Sharpton, too. It has to be faced that Obama was very successful in appealing to large numbers of whites. And he’s manipulated both the AA community and the white comunity to his advantage.

      • http://thehorizontalworld.blogspot.com/ Mary Jo Kopechne

As far as the so called progressives of the Dem party, I think a short answer about how BO got this far is simply white liberal guilt, as generated by the elite of the party. Most of the people I know who are Obama supporters have never had any real association with people of color and they see Barack as a way to “make Up” for America’s racist history.

I mean the IDEAL–a black, harvard educated president–sounds good. But it appears many people–his supporters and the stupid media–don’t want to go behind the ideal to look at the man. Who is he? what has he accomplished? what are his credentials? who does he owe? who owes him? where has he been? does he know ME? Working class people ask those questions. Why others don’t is a mystery, a mystery that will bite them in the butt if they don’t wake up soon.

The media want to make money, so their willing to shill for whoever is the biggest taker. But everyday citizens–who the F knows? As far as the leaders of the Dem party. Cowards? Idiots? Blinded by power? Afraid of being called racists?

It makes me nauseous and I’m beginning to understand apathy as a way of coping.

        • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Molly

As far as the so called progressives of the Dem party, I think a short answer about how BO got this far is simply white liberal guilt,

Well if his spritual advisor has taught him that I am a Garlic Nose, I no longer have any guilt. Barack Obama can take his sexism, racism and Black Panther buddies and shove it as far as I am concerned. He has done more damage to the wonderful African Americans I have known in my life than anybody I can think of.

          • kenoshaMarge

I don’t think the party elite or many of the Obama supporters understand the anger that many of us are feeling Molly. They are not “offended” by Reverend Wright so of course it is only us simple-minded folks that are. Problem for them, and IMO for the party, is that there are so many more of us simple-minded folks than there are of the elite.

For many of us anyone, anywhere, that says “God Damn America” is an enemy. Say “God Damn This Administration” or any administration or any particular law or whatever and we may disagree but we won’t be offended.

But we little peons, we the information-challenged, we the uneducated people without the money to get our teeth fixed or our illnesses attended to, we the people that find the angst of those making $50-$60,000 a year and whining about it hysterical, we don’t like a man like Wright standing in a CHURCH and doing and saying the kinds of things he does and says. WE ARE OFFENDED. And all the make nice talk in the world is not going to get us to vote for the candidate who sat with his family and listened to this kind of language.

        • yttik

          Three cheers for apathy!!

LOL, unfortunately no matter how hard I try, I’ve never been able to do apathy.

      • Fred C. Dobbs

        >>> How on earth did Obama get this far?

        “Magic Negro Effect.”

A little Belafonte-ish appeal to certain segments of the electorate… Old White Ladies, you know who I mean.

Uncontested subliminal assertions of Moral Authority and Superiority based on melanin levels.

A truly ambitious (and probably evil) woman behind him, pushing him hard and far above his Level of Incompetence.

        Mass gullibility.

        Shall I go on?

Yes please do Fred. I also agree with you completely on the wife. I hate to sound sexist here, but this woman is the surrogate president.
I generally get a very bad, angry feeling from her despite her efforts to appear friendly and cheerful. The eyes give her away.

    • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Molly

I wonder if Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean got to hear these videos.

I hold this phoney trip against Pelosi and Dean personally. That is why I am going to switch to Independent. These people do not represent me. On Pelosi’s face, I see the look I have seen so many times in Corporate America. The look of a woman who wants it to be her instead of the other woman. In Dean, I see a coward. His name should be Coward Dean. After watching how poorly he is leading and how cowardly he truly is, I am glad he was displaced from the last Presidential election.

      • mimi

Isn’t Pelosi Italian? I think people should get this info to the Italian Defamation League. Is there at least a screen shot of the derogatory comment?

        • Hope

          Mimi:

Yes Ms. Pelosi is Italian. We should ask her why she is supporting a man whose spiritual guru has made vile statements against her heritage. Actually I think her home town, SF, has a big problem with Columbus Day in that they believe the Italians also savaged the Native Americans. So I guess, according to their circular reasoning, it would be politically correct to quote Rev Wrong regarding the Italian lynching of Christ. According to the far left anything of European blood needs to be ethnically cleansed and replaced with a more colorful version of truth and justice.

          It is all ludicrous.

  • Andy

What’s with Hannity? He is making Obama’s case over and over about SD going with plurality when he won’t get majority. Maybe I am reading too much into this but I noticed in David Brooks, Hannity and a few other from the right a suddent rally to Obama’s talking points; maybe they figured out that they are really better off
with Obama against McCain (look at the polls state by state) since they really have him with Wright, Rezko, Meeks.

Luntz in Part II is trying to make the “intellectual” but Hannity&Colmes don’t let him.

The much hyped WSJ/NBC latest poll is rigged

Did you see Tweety tonite hyping the latest WSJ/NBC
poll as the Rev.Wright having no negative effect on BO?

    ………..

The Journal-NBC poll was conducted March 24-25 and included telephone
interviews with 700 registered voters, with an oversampling of 177
black voters. The margin of sampling error was plus or minus 3.7
percentage points for all registered voters, 4.3 points for white
voters and 7.4 points for black voters.
    http://tinyurl.com/2rx3r4

    It’s rigged.
    Shocking! ;o)

    • Andy

Yeah, I noticed also the over-sampling. You can check the methodology and it is suspicious.

  • Andy

The margin of ewrror of 7.4% for black voters is absurd.

This is attention to Larry and Susan and anyone else who understands hacking:
This video says no longer available. This has happened at some time with almost every video that is pro-Hillary or makes Obama look bad. Usually the video comes back, but not always.
It has also happened with anti-Obama blogs.
It sure seems as if Obama’s people are hacking and I am sick of it. I feel sick at the idea that he could be our next president.
I am sick of his disgusting trolls all over the Internet, being nasty and stupid. Do they really think they are helping his cause?
I am sick of their lies and dirty tricks and then accusing Clinton.
They are turning everyone off and destroying the Democratic Party. Exactly what the Repubs want. They must be Repubs pretending to be Obamites. Obamites can’t possible be that stupid. Can they?!?
A possible president hacking blogs and videos? Or his people doing it. Same thing.
When I first noticed this happening I thought I was being paranoid. Then I tried to ignore it because the thought of it being true was too horrifying. But it has happened so many times it probably is true.
    Seems like Fascism to me.

    • http://thehorizontalworld.blogspot.com/ Mary Jo Kopechne

I’ve noticed this too, speaktruth. I copy and paste entire articles now that are critical of Obama because their links go dead. Youtube and other videos are simply lost.

      • TeakWoodKite

I work in IT and I have seen evidence of this as well. I first noticed 9 months ago on the C-Span in the form of google bombing when the question had anything to do with Obama vs whoever. or any negitive poll. It has progressed to were you work every angle “in the room” as a lay person and it get right next to Obama and out go the lights. In terms of probability is cuts against the grain. One must also keep in mind who controls and can manpulate the sources of information available to the curious public and the increasingly few intrepid reporters.

Mary Jo, I am up to several thousand pages of scarapped articals.

        Thanks for the tip ces.

    • ces

When it first comes up, go to keepvid.com and enter in the exactly url from youtube. (You click the youtube icon and click on the ‘copy to pasteboard’ or whatever.)

Then you can save/download the file, but you’ll have to rename it as a .flv file.

Then use something like VLC (free opensource video player) to watch the flash video files.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

It is fine now. Try again! I did tell C.S. to check his videos though.

    • simon

      Seems like Fascism to me.

      Also bait.

It’s pretty easy to track the hackers, and know who is doing it, in fact I’d say damn easy for most feds.

So, who are the usual players, and how often do they show up?

Pretty soon they’re in a database, unbeknownst to them.

Sometimes, an anti Obama video is simply law enforcement fishing for online trouble makers.

Just because the FBI isn’t knocking at your DOOR, hacker amateur, doesn’t mean you haven’t made it into someones database, your Internet moves, traced.

      Kinda naive.

Again, the googlebomb set, not too bright.

I’m always amazed by the length of rationalization some Internet hackers go to, believing the military, or the NSA can’t find them.

      You’re kidding right?

You always believe what you see?

    • Hope

      Speaktruth,
I’ve “heard” on MSM that Obamatrons are very computer savvy. I guess your experience with the videos and blogs is in support of that belief.

      Wow! Another form of Bushism.

  • http://speaktruth speaktruth

And yes, I did see Tweety with that poll and turned off the TV. I don’t believe it either. Definitely hyped.
I am especially sick of the media lies.
And figuring it’s still more Repub tricks. Still not sure how they want it to play out though, for McCain or Obama. Or either, because there’s no difference?

  • No-obama-nation

Not only am I a “typical white person,” according to Obama, now his close friend, preacher and advisor (Rev. Wright) has further insulted my heritage by taking aim at italians for having “garlic noses.” In addition, Obama’s National Co-chair, Jessie Jackson, Jr. stated to the Washington Post, after Obama won a caucus in January, the following:
“The natural reminder here is O.J. [Simpson] — how does an African American candidate attack a white woman?” said Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.). . . .” (What does this statement have to do with an election???)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDaO7N-JujU

So, Obama and his close associates have insulted “typical white people,” “italians,” and “women.”

There is an obvious thread in Obama that is sexism and racism, and he is an obvious misogynist. Oh, one final thing, have you seen the Obama Girls? What’s that all about?

  • rightagain

This is so cool. I just race home to hang out with all you guys. Usually I just
read the blogs. I don’t listen to Air America anymore. I listen to ambient electronic music. I don’t read the Nation blog, even though part of a letter I emailed was printed in the magazine with jesus on the cover (“It’s just time for a woman. That’s all.”) I wince and go to TPM only cuz I can check the latest polls and see where Hillary is nationally. I hardly ever stay long on Huff post. I quit D ..oz a few weeks ago. I listen to parts of the nightly news on each network and then go to our local station and listen to who got robbed, how much snow we are getting (in late March) and then I try to unwind. I find watching PBS works. I am listening to Peter and the Wolf as I write. In other words, I am going nuts.

    • Hope

I know what you mean. I’ve had to turn to Faux News to find out what is going on with Hillary.

Has anyone ever counted how many times an hour Obama’s name is spoken on CNN or MSNBC?

Is there a Parrot in the house?

  • http://thehorizontalworld.blogspot.com/ Mary Jo Kopechne

If you missed it on TV, Taylor Marsh just put up the video of Hillary being interviewed tonight by Greta Van Susteran. Hilary was great.

    http://www.taylormarsh.com/archives_view.php?id=27297

  • http://speaktruth speaktruth

    I finally saw the video.
Luntz was great. He told the truth clearly and simply. Any other idea is simply spin which totally obliterates the millions of voters who support Hillary.
I saw numbers yesterday that showed that with the votes of Michigan and Florida counted and with committed superdelegate vote counted, Clinton is leading Obama!
I don’t know why the Clinton campaign is not circulating these numbers. They are at least as valid as the present numbers that favor Obama. And yes, I know Obamaites won’t agree but who cares.
Obama certainly did campaign in Florida with cable TV advertising, Hillary did not, and she still won. We know that if he’d won he’d be screaming racism if they didn’t count the votes. He ran ads there probably planning that if he won. Since he lost he fights for the opposite. No character, no integrity.
I think all Clinton supporters should be saying that it is she who is leading now, not him, and if anyone should drop out for the good of the party it is Obama.
    It’s the truth.

  • rosaleen

Perhaps he held a private prayer session poolside in the Virgin Islands.

Good one, Susan! Great site you have here.

  • llilytoo

As a DEM it’s deeply embrassing to me to be lecture by Frank Luntz about our failure to count votes!! DNC! Get your act together! Whoes next to point this out? Karl Rove? What party am I in?

    • kenoshaMarge

You sure aren’t in the Democratic Party that I belonged to for almost 40 years. I am now an Independent and damn well intend to stay one. The Democratic Party elite and leadership probably always had nothing but disdain for the blue-collar workers they counted on for their power. If so, at least they had the decency to keep it quiet and to throw us enough bones that we were able to make a decent, if not lavish, living and a chance to send our children to college. This is no longer the case. Democrats like to “talk the talk” but many, if not most, no longer “walk the walk”.

By their votes you shall know them. Obama likes to showcase himself as the anti-war candidate yet he’s voted to fund it. Big talk, little or no action.

As for Pelosi and Reid, they are an embarrassment. Also, lots of talk and little or no action. Then there are the Blue Dog Democrats that have infiltrated the party and are doing their best to hand Republicans everything they want.

I could go on, but it’s all just too depressing. I thought that maybe Hillary, being on the inside, knowing how Washington works, and being smart and as hard working an individual as you will ever see might have a chance to make some changes. Not many because for all the campaign rhetoric there is just so much a President can do unless they have a supine congress like Bush had. And unless they have no ethics, no guts, and no intention of doing what the voters of this country gave them a majority to do ala Reid and Pelosi.

I think the Obama supporters believe that once their guy is nominated all us pointy-headed little libs will toddle over to back Obama. I think they’re wrong. I think the elite’s both in the government, in the media, and in the blogophere, underestimates the anger of the blue collar voters and especially of the older women voters.

We don’t like Obama, we don’t like his supporters or surrogates and we won’t vote for him. You can try and scare us with the specter of the evil McCain but that’s not going to work very well. McCain simply isn’t loathed the way Bush was and is. And while we may not be “well-educated” most of us are smart enough to write in a candidate or to ignore voting for president and vote for the down ticket candidates we support.

      • Alibe

McCain might not be loathed like Bush is now, But Bush wasn’t loathed in the year 2000 like he is hated now. McCain needs to be understood just like we understand Bush now. McCain has been sanitized by the MSM. They think he is a macho guy. They were suckered by Bush and he is using the same tactic on the media guys. They are such scum sucking fools. They will soon be saying about how we all want to eat barbecue with John the maverick McCain. Even if you don’t dislike McCain as much as Bush, he will have all the same criminals around him. Add to that scenario, McCain is old, has had bouts with cancer and who knows what else. His advisors will have an even greater impact than normal. We are in deep trouble with the way this election season is unraveling. The media is in the pocket of McCain and Obama. The polls appear to be fixed. How can we change it?

        • MarkL

Um, McCain may have many faults, but lack of machismo is not one of them.
He’s got a lot of courage.

          • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

I agree, Mark. He has a lot of problems, but I cannot begin to imagine what he endured as a POW. I also cannot imagine how he turned down an early release from that unremitting hell. But he did it.

I do not want him as president. That’s for sure. But he does have some qualities that one cannot help but admire.

And I think it’s cool that he respects Hillary because he knows her, and enjoyed being with her on their trips to Iraq and elsewhere. And that McCain disrespects – has contempt for — Obama because he knows Obama too. Because Obama screwed him over on a highly important Senate collaboration.

      • Hope

Thank you KenoshaMarge. I appreciate your thoughts and comments. And I also agree with you.

      • TeakwoodKite

By their votes ye shall know them

        “Call me Ishmael.”

Why is Senator Obama like Captain Ahab?

        KenoshaMarge; props.

  • mimi

Why on earth would anybody think AAs would care about the Rev Wright flap? Now that’s just plain stupid.

    • Kevin

Come on Mimi… that’s like saying all caucasians agree w/ Pat Buchanan’s comments re: how african americans should be greatful for slavery, etc.

  • Hope

Why is it okay to bash my Italian heritage according to the Rev Wright? My poverty-stricken grandfather and grandmother came here under very adverse conditions, worked their way up despite their complete lack of education and never ONCE took money like some others.

If it isn’t okay to bash one race/ethnic group i.e., AA, then why is it okay to bash others?

  • http://www.oohnuance.blogspot.com madamab

I would like to speak up here, as a lefty-left, well-educated, 40-year-old, white female liberal who has not liked Obama from the first.

Obama is about as un-liberal as a Democrat can get.

A real liberal doesn’t attack his Democratic candidates from the right. He doesn’t marginalize giant swaths of the voting population by dismissively saying he’ll “get their votes.” (No, you won’t, fuckhead.) He doesn’t minimalize his female opponent by saying she lashes out at him “periodically, when she’s down.” He doesn’t propose milquetoast domestic programs that cut out the working class and give millions and billions to Wall Street. He doesn’t pretend he’s anti-war, then vote to fund the war time and again.

If Obama is a liberal, then I’ve swung all the way around on the circle to become a right-wing conservative!

Hillary is the true liberal in this contest, which is why my vote proudly goes to Hillary in November!

    • StatBabe

Actually, the really ugly piece of misogyny that BOTH Barack and Michelle Obama pulled was when they each said at different points that when Hillary was down, “the claws come out”–a totally sexist remark that was far worse than ANYTHING that Geraldine Ferraro or Hillary Clinton said!

  • Kevin

“A real liberal doesn’t attack his Democratic candidates from the right.”

Guess that explains these remarks Hillary made:

“I think you’ll be able to imagine many things Senator McCain will be able to say,” she said. “He’s never been the president, but he will put forth his lifetime of experience. I will put forth my lifetime of experience. Senator Obama will put forth a speech he made in 2002.”

Again, you’re slamming Obama for things that Hillary herself can be accused of.

  • Maple Leaf

Long time no see, but this is still the same old same old toxic stew, perculating and burping up racial, ethnic hostilities.

Just came from Drudge where I didn’t see No quarter listed, but saw Daily Kos

Daily Kos has the second most loyal visitors of any news site on the internet according to Nielsen. Drudge is first.
Nielson logged 1.2 million unique visitors to Daily Kos in February

Much more variety, much more interchange…

    So long………..

    • Hope

A leaf floating in the wind!

  • Cath

I’ll say it again, as I see my first two posts never showed up. (Hoping this isn’t some sort of subtle censorship because I disagree with this article.)

I support Hillary 100%. However, Frank Luntz is notorious in the professional survey research community for unethical behavior. He has been censured by at least one major organization (AAPOR).

Luntz is not the best person to cite in support of our candidate. We can do better.
