Hillary on Greta’s Show Tonight:

She’s all “go,” our candidate — all the way:

PART TWO BELOW:

  • Patrick Henry

Wasn’t that Great..Hillary seems so relaxed and Positive..Where does she get that energy>>?? Greta was really Nice too..

I”m with Greta..just listening to hillarys schedule wears me out..and there is such a long way to go..but hillary is ready for a convention Fight..

    Hillary IS..so ..so..so DEMOCRAT……!!

I have Visions of all the Great Old Democrats who carried the Banner..Cheering Hillary On..Shouting…”YOU GO GIRL”…..show them What The LEADER ..The Standard bearer of the Party Can Do..

    Hillary Marchs On…God Bless her………

  • mathomas

Go Hillary! That was brilliant. It’s going to the convention, and we are going to win this thing. I can feel it.

  • No-obama-nation

Hillary has substance to her responses. It’s great to hear details about programs and not sophomoric statements such as, “Yes We Can.”

  • CognitiveDissonance

I loved the interview, particularly her strong stance about seating FL and MI. Isn’t it amazing that Hillary has to go to Fox to get a fair interview? I never imagined I would say that, but there you are. Greta also did a great interview with Bill in New Orleans a week or two ago.

  • JoeySky

She was so confident. When talking about FL & MI, she almost dared anyone to block the seating of the delegates. “They will be seated”. hehe

  • Catriley

How could anyone watch Hillary when she’s talking, unscripted like that, and not believe she would be the greatest president for us? She’s just magnificent. I’m always blown away at her command of the issues, and total understanding, and her humility. I LOVE that she just gets right down into it and calls out Obama for ignoring the importance of Florida and Michigan. How exactly does he think he could get elected in November if Florida and Michigan is dissed in the primary? He hasn’t won a swing state yet — winning a bunch of small caucus states is hardly a home run.

Okay, forgive me for being a total chick, but I LOVE Hillary’s outfit! That color and the scarf print is tres chic!

    • PMS

I LOVE that she just gets right down into it and calls out Obama for ignoring the importance of Florida and Michigan.

Yep, a floor fight with the Credentials Committee. Good, old fashioned Convention Politics the way I grew up with it. Enough with the “predestination” of the DNC!

    • mimi

Hillary’s command of the issues is what blows me away.

How can anyone listen to Senator Stammer/Uh as he struggles to grappel with the most basic issues confronting the USA today.

  • Dora Ratquila

I love Hillary and despite the Bosnia misstatement which the Obamabots (with the complicity of the pro-McCain media – because he will ultimately benefit if Obama gets “selected” as the nominee), she will win this nomination and the presidency! It is just so tragic that so many otherwise intelligent Democratic party bigwigs – such as Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson to name a few – have become so myopic to shove Obama down our throats despite Exelon, Rezko and now, Wright?! Are these people closet Republicans who want to curse FDR and Truman’s party as the party of white-bashing, America-hating, slumlords and racists? NO WAY! Go Hillary, we’re behind you every step of the way!

  • DisenfranchisedVoter

Thank you to Greta for actually giving Hillary the opportunity to speak without attacking her for something. I cannot believe I watch FOX News these days. I don’t care about the conservative slant as long as they a reasonable in their analysis. It seems like conservatives are the only ones who can do that these days (Pat Buchanan and Frank Luntz are two examples).

  • Alberta Baer

I am so proud of her.
Why should we vote for another man when we can have athe most qualified candidate who happens to be a woman?

    • Centrocitta

It’s definitely in the stars and in the cards for Hillary (a Scorpio) this year. She’s going to win big in November. Personally, I would like to see her put on her Deportation Hat and start removal procedures for certain individuals and their families who don’t belong in my country — and I’m not just talking about immigrants from south of the border.

      • chris

What the fuck? What kind of joke is that?
We have a deportation in our immediate family that is real deal, its not a joke. Sorry to jump your shit, but not funny. Did you mean Lou Dobbs?

      • Centrocitta

By the way, Hillary should start looking in Texas — specifically Austin.

        • simon

We can deport Bush and Cheney’s Texas gang?

Oh, good, does that mean we can finally win the war?

And Chris, I’m sorry for what your family is facing, it must be very difficult.

  • Greenley Greene

Another strong performance…. every debate Senator Clinton demonstrates her command of the issues while Obama wanders through the talking points of his speeches.

I always thought Gore was probably the best person for president in my lifetime and he was certainly done in by the liberal/progressive side of the Democratic party. Now I think Senator Clinton is as good and may be better than Gore. And the liberal/progressive elites, once again, are going to deliver the Presidency to the Republicans.

    • Catriley

Glad to hear I’m not alone in that! I had always thought that Gore was my dream candidate, and now Hillary just makes more sense to me now. Hillary’s steadfast commitment to “green collar jobs” as a way to stem climate change AND put Americans back to work, has really impressed me.

People keep saying that they think Edwards and Gore will endorse Obama to put and end to the primary season, but I have so much faith in both of them that they would not grandstand like that, and put the needs of the DNC ahead of the voters. Hillary speaks to what is near and dear to Gore and Edwards’ hearts, I wish I could have a ticket that includes any of those three! What a winning combo for America!

  • http://hillary-clintons-voice.com Sharon

I am so glad to hear someone talk, in depth, about ways to fix our very broken economy. Sounds like she is not afraid to tackle the tough problems and stand firm on solutions. And, I do like what she said about us ‘rolling up our sleeves’. She honestly tells us that this is going to be hard work for all of us. NO sugar-coating it.

I also like her positive attitude and stance. I think with her history and relationships with foreign leaders and dignitaries, she will be able to regain the world’s confidence in America again, and that will help us to recover. Confidence in our Leadership. I want that again!

    • Northwest rain

Good — let Mrs. Obama run off at the mouth all she wants! Sort of shows the contrast — or the result of going to a racist church for so many years.

After she said she’d have to “think” about supporting Senator Clinton is she won the nomination — and it depended on Clinton’s “tone” — I’ve had no use for Mrs. Obama.

    • Mechan

      I saw this yesterday

I especially picked up on the fact that this speech was given in SC….my question, did she give this speech before the primary because if she did…she was “baiting” the students with her little speech about “comfort zone”…”you know what I mean she says”….what a piece of work she is…In my eyes she was working these kids and reving up another generation with her hate…she bothers me greatly and I personally think she is trouble..this campaign is full of it..they are anything but uniters.

      • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

        YOU ARE IGNORANT!

        ….

        so says Michelle.

        • Mel

“It’s easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions, it makes you feel justified in your own ignorance…That’s AMERICA”

This is the real explanation that should have been Obama’s speech on RACE last week! Thank you for telling the truth Michelle, something your husband is incapable of doing!

          • Mel

And I forgot, this is the real truth about Rev Wright and the church!

Amen for the truth from the Obama with balls in the family!

  • Mary B

This interview was wonderful. And the reason that I will vote only for Hillary. She will make the best President.

  • kenoshaMarge

Watching her it suddenly became clear to me why she is so hated by some from both the left and right.

Here is a strong, smart woman who refuses to knuckle under or to give up. She refused to go hide and play the victim when her a$$hole of a husband couldn’t keep his damn pants zipped. She carved out a place for herself in the political life she loves in New York. They first were suspicious of her and now, knowing her, they vote for her overwhelmingly.

She’s what all weak men and women loathe, a reflection of what they can never be. I always wondered WHY so many hated her so much. A strong, smart woman isn’t respected or desired in the United States. Big boobed females with the brains of a gnat are the American dream from weaklings of both sexes.

    • rjj

Hillary’s problem is you can’t get implants of what she’s got. That diminishes the Mitchells, Dowds, Sally Quinns, and nipped, tucked, botulinized, embalmed heads of CorpsMedia.

      • Centrocitta

And for sure, Laura Bush is no Carla Bruni — or Jacqueline Kennedy.

        • simon

Big boobed females with the brains of a gnat are the American dream from weaklings of both sexes.

          Are denigrated, too.

But again, you can’t let the media’s hermetically sealed environment determine reality, or we’re all in trouble.

None of them are capable of evaluating the problems this country face, whether it’s Olbermann, Obama, or Bush, I don’t even pay attention.

You know, control of the media works both ways, ie as much as they try to use it to hurt Clinton, I get the impression it can be used against them, feeding them false pictures, to encourage bad decisions.

Which can be fortunate, or unfortunate for the nation. An uninformed leadership makes horrible decisions for the country, but for those with another agenda, well, it does keep that leadership busy, doesn’t it?

I’m thinking of Iraq, on the news this morning, FWIW, Iraq is getting pounded.

How good do you think the decisions are out of Washington, with these people so incapable of understanding reality, these people spinning this worthless propaganda, not dealing realistically or intelligently with anything?

But you know, they want government by Axelrod, and Rove, they get government by Axelrod and Rove.

But what are they missing, and who is manipulating them?

In a nutshell, they need to get real, and start reporting like intelligent people, or they lose the war. Not only is the American public uninformed, making decisions from false premises, so are the Washington decision makers,(military, too) it’s their environment, also, you just can’ turn it off.

Mediocre ad men can’t, don’t win wars.

I read once the White House will only watch Fox news. Can you imagine the propaganda bonanza it presents, in terms of feeding bad information to the administration?

          Yow!

          • Gregoryp

Well, Simon the media knuckleheads aren’t allowed to say or allude to the truth. All the news stations are owned by giant corporations who have a vested interest in suppressing the truth. The talking heads all have kids in college, mortgages, credit card debt, student loan payments, etc. They don’t have much choice in the matter. That is why you see them show a graph, or some poll numbers, or whatever and tell you it means or says exactly the opposite of what it really does. Very few look very happy saying things on the air that they know are blatant lies. There are some though that are true believers and enthusiastically dish the propaganda. It is really the American people to determine the truth for themselves. They can either question everything and use their own minds or they can believe everything they hear. In the end though if people are fooled by any disinformation it is their own damned fault.

      • Centrocitta

Imagine being a man in Italy — where all the big boobs are natural — and not plastic!

    • BernieO

I think a lot of the women who hate her are women like Arianna Huffington or Maureen Dowd who think they are smarter than Hillary and are jealous. Arianna was a political wife (Republican) who was considered the power behind her husband whom she was helping to rise in the system. I would be she saw herself as a potential First Lady, but her dream came crashing down when her husband came out of the closet.
domediagirl wrote that Chris Matthews hated Bill Clinton because he saw him as a guy from dogpatch and was put out that he got all the women.
This is all about their own bruised egos.

      • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Molly

BerniO, you are very perceptive. I would add Pelosi to the list as well. She has that look I have seen so many times in Corporate America. The look of It Shoul Be Me Instead Of Her. Women haven’t learned what men have known as one of their greatest secrets. They circle even a mediocre man’s wagon. And if Obama is anything, he’s mediocre. Women, on the other hand, thwart one another in the competition ring. It’s a kind of self-loathing thing.

        • Tricia

I agree–I see it as we campaign. As soon as women learn to look more closely at each other and what value and resouces we bring to the table, we will have ourselves more excellent women in powerful places. It’s our last frontier.

    • ybnormal

“She’s what all weak men and women loathe, a reflection of what they can never be.”

Marge, I think there’s truth in the jealousy motive. But also consider another emotional aspect; that some people out there seem to be angy that Hillary disapointed by not adequately executing their own vengeance by proxy against Bill to their satisfaction. In their view, nothing short of a shotgun in the face would have been good enough. – which of course leads once again back to their own insecurity.

    • http://noquarterusa.net/ SusanUnPC

It’s like what McGovern said the other day — that our “macho” culture has a problem with strong women.

Tough, I say. She is unstoppable. Thank god.

    • Catriley

You nailed it KenoshaMarge! I truly believe that the incessant attacks on Hillary, from years and years ago, have more to do with fear. The GOP and democratic rivals have long believed that Hillary has every qualification and quality to be the first woman president. They keep smacking her, but she never stays down.

When I think about the millions being thrown at that “escort” because she slept with a Governor, and how she will now be rich and famous because of it, I realize that America has so far to come in treating women equally. Girls still believe they have a better chance of getting a million-dollar spread in Hustler Mag, than being president.

Hillary is changing the landscape of what’s possible for women, and the media is fighting it every step of the way.

  • Andy

Wow, that’s thinking on your feet, have a profound knowleadge of what the problems are; how to solve them and the grit to do so. Absolutely impressive.

  • http://hyper-educated-uppity-woman.blogspot.com Molly

Obama must have been in the fetal position after he watched this interview.

    • kenoshaMarge

Nah, just preparing the latest “spin”
She has given dozens of smart, informative speeches that are ignored or mined for something that can be twisted to show her a being dishonest or racist or whatever the evil flavor of the month now happens to be.

    • Mechan

He hasn’t left the “fetal position”…LOL..
that was a good one and worth a morning chuckle..

As for Hillary on Greta’s show…I love this woman because she is so brilliant, can think on her feet, knows her subject matter and doesn’t need notes to talk..what a brilliant mind she is gifted with..that’s why Obama Mama is threatened by her.
You take him off script and he is like his “Uncle Teddy”…every other word is Ah!…while he thinks…sad..
(ps)…Obama has lots of uncles if you think about it, Uncle Teddy, Long John Kerry, The mighty Reverend Wright, the indited Rezko, who did i leave out…

  • terri

OMG! A totally wonderful interview coming from Fox News! The earth moved! Hil looks GREAT! Good choice of wardrobe, that hot pink is strong and in-your-face. It’s a good color for her. She sounds strong and competent. I’m glad she did this on Fox News.

I hope the DNC is paying attention and will abandon their plan to call the SDs to Washington RIGHT NOW and make them cast their votes on the basis of who’s leading RIGHT NOW. That’s what’s in the works people.

    • Catriley

I hope the DNC is paying attention and will abandon their plan to call the SDs to Washington RIGHT NOW and make them cast their votes on the basis of who’s leading RIGHT NOW. That’s what’s in the works people.

Terri- Are you serious? Could this be the meaning of Reid’s cryptic comments this week that it’s going to be ending soon? Could the DNC and the power players be so incredibly.. well.. stupid as to think that Michigan, Florida, and the remaining states would not be angry and unforgiving to be disenfranchised this way? I just cannot fathom how the DNC power brokers are missing the point that their precious Obama hasn’t been able to win an important state, is polling below Hillary against McCain, and doesn’t have a chance in November. Yet.. they are trying to force this on us.

I know it saves them time and money to have a ridiculous convention that is ceremonial at best, but everyone has a right to be heard! Even if it means a complicated and messy convention. That’s what they’re for. I do hope that the plan you’ve hinted at is not real.

  • Fleaflicker

I justed loved hearing Hillary say she will push on to the convention to seat Michigan and Florida. That is the best news I have heard in a while. And while the Cultists will have us believe that she is tearing apart our party for the sake of her ambition, we know the truth of this. Because it is now quite apparent that it is the Obama campaign that is interested in disenfranchising voters in Michigan and Florida. When he pulled out of Michigan to begin with he let them know that he didn’t care about their votes.

I fully support taking this to the convention if need be. If a floor fight is what is needed to solve this then so be it. The party elders sure as hell aren’t doing their jobs.

  • Dawnelle

Saw it last night as I am now a new (occasional) FAUX news viewer.

The ONLY place in town to get even the slightest fair news on Hillary. Even though they still get hacks like Beckel and Bennet up there to trash her more often then not.

And Hannity is ecstatic about the thought that Obiwan can be defeated now. He already thinks Hillary can…………… he is wrongo!!!

    lol

  • Mostest

Hillary is one tough PERSON. The whole MSM/pundit class has been hammering her relentlessly to quit since, well, Iowa. All Hillary keeps doing is winning. She is a fighter. That is the kind of president I want.

Obama has a bad week and he runs off to the the island and ask to be “left alone.” Now the pundits are saying Hillary is trying to destroy Obama. BOO F#$king HOO! What Obama can’t stand up to a GGGIRL? He has to ask his surrogates to ask them to ask her to stop. Obama is fast changing from Obambi to just a punk. A punk who can’t fight his own battles. A punk who runs away and ask “to be left alone.”

As the BIG DAWG said, politics is a contact sport. If you want to play football, you can’t be afraid of taking a clip now and then. Strap it up and lets play ball, baby!

    • mimi

      No…. that’s Senator Punka$$.

  • ybnormal

Hillary says in this interview that when people talk to her out on the trail, what they’re most interested in is the economy and healthcare; which I hear as, the economy of THEIR personal finance. I think it’s interesting that this is in response to a question generally reflecting on what Obama says about his pastor and what Hillary says about the shooting threat in Bosnia. Rather than grind away at those points, Hillary successfully addressed a greater issue instead. READY!

Later Hillary said she doesn’t believe any Democrat can win in Nov GE without a FL and MI vote in the Dem primary, and says Obama doesn’t want to support having that vote. She doesn’t spell it out specifically, but it does lead to the thought that Obama is too short sighted about the primary versus the GE. SET!

Overall, I think Greta did a good job of posing questions from a person on the street point of view, instead of the more typical practice of TV journalists who seem to be more interested in expressing their own burning inspired thought. Not bad for a lawyer/broadcast-journalist.

Also overall, I think this interview will help Hillary, given the positive way she expressed herself, and also the fact that it was on the widely viewed Fox in primetime. GO!

  • themomcat

This is the person I want to be my President. She is BRILLIANT! No stuttering, hemming or hawing, no errs, or hummms. Not a pause or contradictions. Just poise, intelligent, confidence and absolute conviction of her agenda to turn this country around. JUST BRILLIANT!

  • ybnormal

I guess a remaining question is:

How many Dems voting in the upcoming primaries have long since tuned out of Fox?

  • ybnormal

    More on FL and MI.

Though it’s currently getting fair to middling play in the news media, this could very well turn out to be the turnover play of the whole campaign game.

At the moment, Hillary is on record as supporting the FL and MI primary votes, while Obama is on record as not. This is more than just an appeal for her own campaign. FL alone is in the top 5 of # of electoral college members. The results of their primary voting WILL be remembered.

Pundits keep talking about Hillary’s steep uphill battle for an automatic nomination; but the real battle is not even defined yet.

IF Hillary can get enough delegates to keep Obama out of an automatic nomination with delegates, then it’s up to the subjective opinions of the super delegates. The supers have party success as their primary goal. If votes are obtained from FL and MI, by whatever legitimate means, then whoever pushed that agenda publicly (currently Hillary) will have a big leg up with the super delegates. Even if Obama later supports the FL and MI votes, it will be seen by many as a flip-flop, versus Hillary’s original consistent position.

There’s some real IF’s in there, but if it turns out this way, the resulting momentum could roll over both Obama and McCain faster than you can say “who’s on first”. GE voters will remember who it was that cared about their vote.

The crowd loves a spectacular turnover.

  • PamFlorida

Sorry to get off subject, but as a Floridan, I must address the Fl/Mi. issue. I do not see how the DNC can refuse to count Fl. & Mi. before the final nomination. Neither candidate will have the requisite 2025 pledged delegates to claim a win. The DNC arbitrarily imposed sanctions on two extremely important states and have backed themselves into a corner. The power brokers behind Obama will insist on keeping Fl. & Mi. out until he is the nominee, using the “rules”, “fairness”, and threats. I believe these people are behind the push to force Sen. Clinton out in the name of “Party Unity”. Furthermore, I am disgusted with Bill Richardson’s endorsement of Obama. His reasons rang false to me and I deplore his implied criticisms of Sen. Clinton. I heartily agree with James Carville’s opinion of Richardson-he sold out.
The “rules” in this situation are not set in stone. The playing field should be leveled by seating Fl. & Mi. (allowing unpledged delegates to vote as they see fit) and then the SD can weigh in if necessary.

Good, substantive interview. It stands in particular contrast to Sen. Obama’s speech this morning, which could almost have been titled, “How to disincentivize American entrepreneurship through abstract Marxist collectivism.” Of course, that is what Obama was taught by his mentors, so we shouldn’t be surprised.

  • jamzo

seemed like i was watching greta and hilary doing an infomercial

  • http://www.oohnuance.blogspot.com madamab

What has been making me crazy is that Fox News and the rightwing wackos have been more balanced towards Hillary than the traditional media!

But then I figured it out. Conservatives love people who don’t succumb to their bully tactics. That’s why they’re giving Hillary a little respect.

We Democrats seem to be more enamored of HOW someone wins (or appears to win) than what that person will do AFTER he/she wins. Thus, we often favor people who are more “nice,” as Obama appears to be, and who, more often than not, are completely destroyed by the latest Rovian tactic or invention.

Hillary is tough, fearless, brilliant and deeply practical. In short, absolutely 100% Presidential, in the FDR mode. Ready on Day One indeed – she’s ready NOW.

  • CPLUMMER

Way to give it to ‘em, Hill!! Loved it and love you! Hillary ’08
