The Democratic Party and “Progressives” Jump the Shark

I never thought I’d live to see the day when the Democratic party devolved to this point. If someone had told me that one day the party of John and Bobby Kennedy, the party of progressive thought and deed, the party that was conned in 2000, would lose its moorings to the degree it has I would have dismissed the story as the rantings of a lunatic. Who would have imagined that in order to push the candidate preferred by the press and the establishment that the party bigwigs would actually advocate disenfranchising millions of its own people, aided by the amen corner of the so-called “progressive” blogosphere?

How is it possible that the entire netroots community, all Democratic members of Congress and the progressive press haven’t banded together to demand that the DNC resolve this mess immediately, instead of blaming Hillary Clinton for it? While it’s all well and good to assign blame to the sneaky Republicans in the Florida legislature for tricking or forcing Democrats into the untenable position they’re in now, the fact is that the Republican party punished Florida while managing to enfranchise the state’s voters. After all, half a delegate slate is better than none. And we can argue all day about whether the DNC had the right to do what it did. The point is that we have reached this point with nary a solution in sight.

I’m sorely disappointed in all the cowards and enablers who have let their blind fealty to Obama/hatred for Hillary Clinton keep changing the subject again and again. The issue is not Hillary Clinton remaining in the race, although various muckety mucks in the party have graciously given her permission to do so. The point, again, is that the Democratic party has given its tacit approval to disenfranchising their own supporters. No Republican dirty trick could have done the damage to the party that the DNC and its minions are inflicting. Not even Lee Atwater could have devised a stunt to splinter the Democrats like telling the voters in Michigan and Florida to go get stuffed.

And here we are, stuck with lousy leadership that can’t even rally support among its own pathetic caucus to get out of Iraq, which is the thing voters put them in office to do. They can’t come up with a solution to let the voters in Michigan and Florida be heard. And when we have the temerity to complain we’re told by Howard Dean to “shut up”. How much longer can this continue before the implosion?

  • fooj

It’s shameful and you’re absolutely correct in calling these “imposters” COWARDS.

  • 30 yrdem

Is there going to be a party left by the time Obama and his camp are done with it? Dean is a coward for not stopping the “Hillary get out” parade. It is going to blow up in their faces.

  • chris c

It’s unbelievable and it’s going to backfire.

Between their pitiful performance battling Bush in Congress and their current attempt to shove a centrist -who calls Tony Rezko and Jeremiah Wright his pals- down our throats, I no longer see the point of being a Democrat. And I have been a Democrat for thirty years.

If I wanted sexism, corruption, and voter disenfranchisement I would have registered as a Republican.

  • bluesky

How can we make our voices heard more loudly. I write emails, and make phone calls daily. I don’t feel that we are getting anywhere. Larry and Susan do you have any ideas on how we can strongly revolt against this unethical and un-American DNC?

  • Thrasyboulos

There needs to be a pretty sharp people powered Democracy Movement within the Democratic Party.

    Count the votes, Howie!

Maybe a Democratic Goddess of Democracy statue at the convention.

    Here’s my protest.

Dean is not going to stop the Hillary Get Out parade. It’s his one chance to escape the undemocratic fiasco he’s helped create.

He made a mess on the carpet, and now he’s counting on the Dem elite to help him clean it up. Presto! No Hillary, no count the votes problem.

Dean is a snivelling coward. And to think I once held him in high esteem. More fool I.

  • It’sNotMe

We should have seen this coming, I guess.

After Nancy Pelosi took Impeachment off the table, David Obey called activists “idiot Liberals”, Congress went along with passing the FISA Bill so they could take their July 4 vacation, NOTHING has been done about the DOJ and the SAs being fired and replaced with “Loyal Bushies”, White House employees have been issued subpoenas and they’ve been IGNORED…nothing has been done about it.

Oh sure, Waxman held hearings, Conyers held hearings, Boxer has held hearings, Leahy has held hearing, but what has anyone actually DONE to the THUGS who have broken the laws? NOTHING! IMCPO, this has all been a dog and pony show for we peon voters just to string us along until the election.

It was such a nice little act. They wanted us all to believe they were actually DOING something and they were! They were playing us for FOOLS and they think we’re too stupid to know it. Well, I know it and I will NOT be treated like an uninformed fool any longer. They can either start acting like the Democratic Party and do what they were elected to do, or I-AM-FINISHED with them. That’s my promise to the Democrat elites who think I’m an ignorant, uninformed fool who they can lead by the nose to vote for them NO MATTER WHAT. They are SO FREAKIN’ WRONG!

  • pixclick

I’m with you 100%. I’ve been afraid of this for a month now and have said to my friends I just won’t vote for president if FL and MI aren’t counted in a legitimate way. I too have been writing and emailing, but Dean et al don’t get it. Really, what does it take???

  • cdo

    Q–what will it take?

    A–a mass exodus

  • ginaswo

I second that emotion, what can we do to make sure MI and FLA get revotes BEFORE the primary season is over

we seem to be a silent majority out here
and all the emails calls and letters arent having an impact that I can see..

I’m writing as an Obama supporter here, but one interested in keeping the party together as much as possible. However, I do get a little disgruntled at all the talk about how we Obama supporters are selling out progressive values to prop up the candidate supported by the media and DC elites at the expense of the candidate supported by the people. The fact is, Obama is, by all counts I’ve seen, well ahead of Clinton in the national popular vote totals (and yes, you have to include the caucus states, because otherwise you’d be “disenfranchising” those people, wouldn’t you?). Clinton may well reverse Obama’s current lead in the remaining contests, and at that point if Obama’s still ahead in pledged delegates I’ll have more sympathy for Hillary’s position–based on my progressive values that the will of the people should be faithfully translated through the political process. But until that happens, until Hillary takes a popular vote lead, no one can complain that the election is being stolen from her.

Everything else that’s going on besides voting is just bluster, on both sides. A bunch of high-profile Obama supporters have called on Hillary to drop out. So what? She doesn’t have to drop out, and she isn’t going to. That’s fine with Obama, and that’s fine with me too. And hey, maybe she’ll surprise us and come back and win this thing. In that case, I’ll support her and campaign hard for her until November. I just wish ya’ll would make a similar commitment if Obama wins. Neither of them are perfect, but both are far superior to McCain. I hope ya’ll agree!

  • Marco

Are party memebers in MI and Florida doing anything to get the attention of Dean and the media? People should be on the streets.

As for jumping the shark, that happened when “progressives” with Obama’s blessing painted the Clintons as racists, making Karl Rove proud in the process. Talk about a “fairy tale.”

  • lifelong dem leaving party

ben, the problem with the argument based on the lead is that obama got the lead through nefarious tactics, primarily by the media, but with his full cooperation and impetus. as just one little example, the media knew all about the wright thing, but only covered it when they absolutely had to and even then did their very best to do damage control for obama. if they had brought out the story before iowa, new hampshire, super tuesday, etc., there is no way obama would have gotten as many votes as he did. odds are high that he would’ve had double digit losses instead of victories in some of those states. so any argument based on delegate counts is illegitimate. (there are many other reasons to question the validity of the argument, but this is just one small example).

  • Kevin

And Hillary’s explicit statement that she would be good commander in chief, McCain would be a good commander in chief, but not Obama – that’s not making Karl Rove proud as well?

  • lifelong dem leaving party

    completely agree.

i’m in texas, where we don’t register by party, so i don’t have the opportunity to make the symbolic statement of switching parties. i do, however, have the opportunity to vote and contribute to not only mccain against obama but also whoever runs against any superdelegate who supports obama. the way we speak is indeed a mass exodus. the only way they know we’re actually gone is when they lose in a landslide. i’m looking forward to it.

i’m also looking forward to that smug smirk of obama’s being wiped off his face.

  • lifelong dem leaving party

she spoke the truth. who cares if karl rove is proud?

  • http://vbonnaire.wordpress.com valentine bonnaire

The inside politics are dirty, I think. A further look at Blue State digital and the concept of “Party Builder” is in order, as all us Dems suffer the ongoing nightmare unfolding before us.

Over at my place, I’m looking to unpack “Astroturfing” as an advertising concept the Obama campaign is employing. You’ll find it interesting I’m sure. Especially about that Hillary Clinton as “big sister” ad you must have seen by now.

Hi, and on to part two, now…

Looks like Taylor Marsh is covering what is getting “scrubbed” from the web at the moment regarding Wright…interesting.

  • It’sNotMe

Whoa….that ticked a few Obamaroids off! He’s absolutely right about Mr. Hope. The way he has deliberately used race to win is disgusting and it’s what drove ME to Hillary after the SC racist crap went down.

  • Janis

I agree. It stinks. If they force Hillary out, me and my friends and family (so far 242) are leaving the democratic party of idiots. I would rather see McCain in there than Obama. He is sneaky and such a dirty politician. I believe Dean, Pelosi and the other handlers of Obama preset this fiasco in Florida and Michigan. There is a great post today by Wayne Barrett (in the Huffington Post) which describes how Obama supporters (Drexler et al) helped to screw up the voting in Florida and I forget the other people’s names in Michigan. Pelosi et al have been at this for some time now. Why doesn’t Obama turn over his STATE senate records. We could find out a lot about him real quick. Also, why does he have dual citizenship, Kenya and the USA. If your running for the presidency of the USA then you should only have citizenship in the USA. I don’t like any candidate shoved on me. Every newspaper, news magazine, AOL, its all about Obama, hardly anything about Hillary except if its bad news or news which has been written in a vicious slanted fashion. If you want to get really upset go to Huffington Post. They should rename it the Obama Post.

  • RalphB

McCain obviously has the experience to be CinC. I would argue that Clinton also has the experience due to her Armed Services cmte service. She said Obama would have to speak for himself. That’s more than fair since he doesn’t have a clue.

Seen it coming with Reid and Pelosi aiding and abetting Bush on just about everything he wanted legislatively in 2007.

Here they were swept into power on a platform of getting out of Iraq, stopping free trade and not being tainted by lobbyist money.

Instead we get Obey labeling those wanted out of Iraq as “idiot liberals” with Reid and Pelosi fully funding war.

Pelosi and Hoyer cozying up to K Street. Reid caving into Bush left and right and pushing even more free trade deals down our throat.

Hell you could write a book on what they didn’t do.

  • Kevin

Unfortunately that’s the point I’ve returned to at this point. I’ve felt and said for years that the democrats and republicans are opposite sides of the same flawed coin.

How is Hillary not more of the same “democrat kool-aid” you mention?

Better still – how are true democrats, liberals, progressives, etc. – to resist the zombie call to join the cult of one candidate over the other… and act for real change? Unfortunately, the green party isn’t a viable alternative at this time…

  • RalphB

I’m also in Texas and the democratic party can kiss my ass if Obama is the nominee. Like you, I’ll vote for McCain and against any superdelegate who supports Obama.

This should have been a slam dunk election for democrats, but like you now I’m looking forward to the landslide. Maybe afterward control of the party can be taken back from the beltway bastards who run it now.

  • Marco

I find it more than hilarious that Obama can hail the Reagan years and cheer the GOP as the Party of Big Ideas, completely ignore the 1990s as if accomplishments under Bill and Al Gore never happened, and do this to the thunderous applause of his supporters. Hillary points out the obvious number of years serving on the national stage she and MCCain have, and suddenly she’s saying Obama isn’t fit ti be President.

By the way, Obama praised McCain yesterday and during his Larry King interview, heaped praise upon Bush I – again ignoring a certain Clinton. I am sure Keith Olbermann’s special comment is coming any night now regarding this blashpemy.

  • Kevin

“I think that since we now know Sen. (John) McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it’s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold.

“I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy,”

Tell me, why didn’t she stick w/ her Armed Services Committee service rather than all the nonsense she diverted to, including the troublesome Tuzla comment(s)?

  • It’sNotMe

The problem IS…Mr. Hope is playing the “good guy” here while sending out all his hit men to insist Hillary drop out and then he can play nice guy and say “Oh no, I think she should stay in the race if that’s what she wants to do.” When we all know he’s behind what all his hit men are doing. Just like the race baiting crap in SC and NH. That was all planned and Mr. Hope tried to play dumb. AFTER Hillary lost the black votes in SC THEN the media releases the entire video of what Bill Clinton REALLY said. No. Mr. Hope is slime, IMCPO and a racist and I don’t vote for racists…be they white or black or blue or yellow or purple. Anyone who can sit in a church for 20 years and listen to the racist rants of Jerimiah Wright is a racist too.

Without Obama ALLOWING FL and MI to be seated, he’s illegitimate if he’s the nominee. No better than BUSH when appointed by the SCOTUS in 2000. There will be no difference between the 2 in my mind. They both will have STOLEN an election from THE PEOPLE. I could NEVER vote for him and I am 52 years old and NEVER voted for a Republican in my life. I will either write in Hillary’s name or vote for Nader if he’s on our ballot. Never will I vote for Mr. Hope. I made that mistake once by voting for him when he ran for the Senate. I won’t make the same mistake twice. I promise.

  • Annagain

I agree. I am also incredibly frustrated that all the letters and emails I have sent to party elders, the DNC, DSCC, DCCC, and the press, seem to be getting nowhere. If you have any ideas how to better make our voices heard, I would welcome them.

In a primary this close — all voices need to be heard. I have been voting the Democratic ticket for 30 years. Now, for the first time in my life, I am ready to abandon them. What does that tell you?

I guess the powers that be don’t believe me, my friends and family when we write this to them — or they don’t care. In any case, combined, we are a huge voting block that does not wish to support an illegitimate nominee who is being forced down our throats. The DNC ignores our voices at their peril, for they will be sorely disappointed come election day if they continue with this scam.

A dissembling newbie senator who won a lot of caucuses and/or primaries in red states does not a valid nominee make. They can also scrub the TUCC website clean all they want — the damage is done. He is unelectable and the Reupblicans will ride that issue all the way to the White House in November.

  • Ben Goodwin

I don’t consume much media outside of the blogosphere, so I can’t really comment on how much they may have influenced the outcome. I’m sure they did in a thousand ways.

I’m also sure that the nominating process has distorted the will of the voters in a thousand ways, and I support efforts to reform it before the next cycle. But the popular vote totals themselves are the purest measure we have of the will of the people, and they have to be respected. The thrust of your argument is to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the nominating process writ large, to say none of these votes are legitimate, because of the “nefarious tactics” of Obama and the media. If that’s your argument, then go with it, but it’s much more dramatic than anything I’ve seen put forward in the endless debates about FL/MI, primaries vs. caucuses, etc. Also, if that’s your argument, what solution would you propose? A national revote?

  • Hope

    Big Ben:

Nice try! Way to go! Come in here and extend the hand of friendship by trying to take the high road and all. Stop that nonsense! Your politically transparent slip is showing and it is stained with high-minded condescension.

Get this: No matter how you costume-up your candidate Obama in fine lace, linen and progressive petunias, he’s still looks like a sleazy, cross-dressing con artist to me.

  • Ben Goodwin

Okay, thanks for your candor. For my part, I recognize that both campaigns are capable of hardball tactics, and both candidates are ambitious, flawed politicians who nevertheless are strong champions for progressive ideals. They will both be important leaders for the Democratic Party in the next few years, regardless of who wins the nomination. I pledge to support the nominee, whoever it is. I’m saddened to see that the primary process has embittered you towards Obama, just as I’m saddened to see that the primary process has embittered some Obama supporters towards Clinton. But I think it would be a tragedy if either candidate were to win the nomination but then lose the general because of a “mass exodus” from the Democratic Party by supporters of the other candidate. Relative to the history of American politics, I don’t think this particular primary campaign has generated enough heat or substantive differences to merit such a drastic move, and frankly I’ll be surprised if it ultimately happens.

  • Ben Goodwin

A lot of name calling in that post. I admit I’m new to this blog. Is this how ya’ll roll?

  • ybnormal

I never ceases to amaze me how many people are willing to push core American ideals into the back seat, in the interest of giving a free pass to established authority.

So many these days are fond of saying (to FL and MI), ‘they broke the rules, too bad’. Under these so-called “rules” however, Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina were already given explicit exceptions to the Feb 5 earliest primary date. But the earlier dates apparantly weren’t early enough. All three exceeded even the early date exceptions. Did any of them lose half their delegates according to the rules? Hell No! They lost NONE of them!

So then FL and MI, anticipated this and figured they probably wouldn’t be sanctioned either. Not the brightest move overall, but when you throw an alternate expectation into the mix of state politics, things happen.

Once again same question; did FL and MI lose half their delegates according to the rules? Hell No! They lost ALL of them!

That’s according to another rule that allows the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee the discretion to change the consequences to breaking rules, I suppose because they feel like it.

Now a lot of voters predictably don’t like the changes to the rules, which were changed because the Rules Committee didn’t like the rules – apparantly consequences to the rules are off the table when they threaten first always status of ‘special’ states. So does DNC make good faith attempts to broker a solution? Hell no! Now it’s Hillary’s fault!

We’re supposed to believe according to pundits and comfy long-term Dem party players that Hillary is at fault for not quitting (and allowing DNC off the hook) – even though the pledged delegate difference between her and Barack is roughly in the range of only 20% of the shortage either one of them has for a nomination based on pledged delegates!

We must be living in an alternate universe – you know, the one where Dewey beat Truman.

  • bluesky

I was just thinking how incredibly stupid we look to Republicans right now. We called foul in 2000 when not every vote was counted in Florida, and we disenfranchise 2.5 million voters in Florida. We claimed the popular vote should be the deciding factor when deciding on a President, and now we claim the popular vote is not as important as the pledged delegates. God can we learn from the Republicans here? They say Democrats are wishy washy, and we are proving their point. I never ever thought I would like anything Republican, but now I’m watching Fox news.

Tennessee Guerilla woman had an enlightening post called the Clinton Backstabbers that reminded me how the Republicans revere their own, while we destroy one of our greatest presidents. It made me sad, but it also made me wish in some ways we were more like Republicans. I really can’t relate to my party one bit right now. Where is the morale high ground here?

    http://guerillawomentn.blogspot.com/2008/03/clinton-backstabbers-video.html

  • It’sNotMe

Do you REALLY believe the Republicans are going to let Obama win? You do know they have NO QUALMS about playing the race card against him, right? They will destroy the man. Sean Hannity has already stated the MSM has a boatload of garbage on Obama. All that means is they’re saving it for the GE. There is no way, on this great Green Earth, that Obama will win the GE….with or without a Democratic exodus from the party.

I was completely neutral in this battle UNTIL SC happened. Shame on him and his hit men for accusing 2 people, who have spent a lifetime working on behalf of civil rights, of being racists! Shame on HIM and shame on his supporters for furthering the blatant, hateful and disgusting LIE just ti win. It makes me sick. He has set race relations back YEARS.

I do think you’re underestimating the anger of the Clinton supporters. Misogyny doesn’t sit well with this typical white woman and neither does racism.

The comments at MyDD were entertaining. As one would expect, the ones about ‘white’ states going for Obama missed an obvious point. That being – how many of those states held caucuses? Noting that Obama tends to win caucuses but not primaries, one asks ‘what was the difference’? The difference was that in caucus states Republicans voted for Obama. Can Dean possibly think that in the GE those repubs will still vote for Obama? The answer is ‘not bloody likely’.

I’m saddened to see that the primary process has embittered you towards Obama

Sir; I am not bitter, I am disgusted. It is the man himself that is immoral. The corrupt nature of the “process” is a symptom of Obama’s intentional efforts to win; at the cost of the civil rights of 2.5 million people, just for starters! What is he afraid of? The truth and he can’t handle it. He has been like this his entire life. I assure his vitories are empty ones. And REALLY BAD karma to boot.

A CLOSE relationship. He profited from the misery of others SIR! And even if it WAS true (which it is not)he did not know what does that say about his “community involvement”? At a generous minimum, it portray’s indifference.

Do you honestly think he won’t repeat this on a national level? When his actions to this point has shown repeatedly he will?

A child can see BO will not win the GE and frankly I don’t think he is meant too. We have seen the DC Dem elite bend over for the GOP so much, at every turn, that it’s not too fantastic for me to believe they want to lose. MaCain in office while they keep their posts would suit them just fine. They would MUCH rather lose than see a Clinton in the White House. If any Dem will stop this, it’s going to have to be the down ticket ones who will get screwed as we carry only Washinton DC. Is this what Dean meant by a 50 state strategy??

  • tewuwei

I’ve been asking myself, and anyone else who’s listening, Why does one segment of the Democratic Party feel so compelled to destructively mutate the meme that is President Hillary Clinton?
All I can come up with is, as in most political intrigues, follow the money. Money -> power -> money. Ouroboros.
Electing Hillary Clinton initiates a new zeitgeist. The smokescreen is that “Hillary is more of the same.” But power holders know viscerally that is not the case. The only way to try to beat her is with another paradigm shifting agent, and especially one who is willing to be a reflective chameleon “uniter.” Enter Barak Obama. He even referred to himself as someone onto whom others project.

This “problem” re the FLA and MI delegates is not that hard to solve, if where there is a will there is a way. Is there a will?

The voters in both states have already gone to the polls, in spite of horrid weather conditions in MI, at least. Those voters should be respected. Their votes can be counted, and should be counted.

If there is a problem with the “rules” of the DNC, if they feel that they have to reprimand these two states for stepping out of line (does this sound like junior-high hall monitoring or what?), then reprimand the people responsible for making the decisions, not the voters who went to the polls.

For example, take away some votes from the SDs of these states (maybe each gets 1/2 vote instead of 1?), but keep the pop vote and elected dels intact. Something along those lines.

This should not be a big deal unless there is an attempt to manipulate the outcome, hmmm?

All along, you “center/left” Democrats obsessed with Bush hatred, wailing about Iraq, broke bread with and supported the moonbat “Daily Kos” crowd; see the vicious campaign waged by the crazies (abetted by this web site, among others) against Joe Lieberman.

    To paraphase Obama’s favorite preacher:
“The chickens have come home to roost.”

    You have made this bed.
    Sleep in it.

    UNITARIANS FOR OBAMA..”..

I got a great “gate address” I like to send him to.
see if he can dial that one up at 3:00am.

There can only be one Ra!

I found it! The seventh symbal! We’re going home.

Healthcare is a human right if we are morally required to uphold the dignity of our fellow human.

“If I wanted sexism, corruption, and voter disenfranchisement I would have registered as a Republican.”

    Sobering, isn’t it?

When it comes to Nov. Hillary cannot influence my decision. Ultimately, it is not just about Hillary. It’s about the behavior of the Democratic Party this Primary Season in conjunction with other missteps in the past.

You know that line? Well the Party crossed it.

Towing the Party Line is no longer an option for me. And THEY DID THAT! Not Hillary.

It’s incumbent upon me to show them this.

  • mimi

This is what it comes down to.

They are so FREAKIN’ WRONG if they think they can play me like this.

  • jimbo

    Repeat after me:

    “Governor Dean,

This is mutiny. Find a way to bring Michigan and Florida into the picture immediately, or I will not vote in the GE”.

Asking this leaves wiggle room, since
all that is being asked is to give Michigan and Florida their voice. If they get a chance to speak, and Obama wins the whole thing, then the right thing has been done and we can move on. If Michigan and Florida are denied, then fuck Dean and Obama and anyone else who deny Michigan and Florida.

Are you listening, Pelosi? Do the right thing.

  • mimi

” If that’s your argument, then go with it,”

All the way to November, pal.

And the DNCL is responsible for this attitude. Along with bama and his supporters who have played the race card while pretending not to. And, it’s still going on. Months ago he should have realized that he could not win without Hillary’s supporters. He has not even offered near a concilliatory tone. Even as his supporters belhave in ways out in the field that are despicable.

Like others, I am no longer a Democrat. Blame Dean, Kennedy, Kerry, Richardson, Leahy, Pelosi and Obama.

Yes. A mass exodus from the party, which won’t even be a party be the time this primary season ends. “It’sNotMe” summed it up very well above. I’ve been disgusted with the so-called leaders for two years now–they’ve done none of the things we put them into office to do.

I think when Obama loses the general election, if not before, there will be a mass defection from the party. I no longer think it can be shaken up from the inside as Markos of Dailykos has been preaching. There will be many, many disaffected former Democrats and Independents who can begin the work needed to construct a new political party. I can’t call myself a Democrat anymore.

  • mimi

You all don’t get it. They are not listening. They want Hillary to drop out so that the cool down/healing process can begin. They’re counting on a dissipation level of the emotions people are feeling.

Hey Dean, Pelosi, Obama, Kennedy, Kerry, Leahy, Richardson:

    DON’T HOLD YOUR BREATH!!!!

    LIEBERMAN…..????

    LIEBERMAN….???

‘The Chickens Have Come Home to Roost” because some “Crazies ” Broke Bread and Said Bad things about Lieberman.. ??

anything that upsets obamabots is good with me. may their racist, koolaid drinking, sexist, hatred spreading, willfully blind, little minds go into overdrive as they try to understand the concept that not everyone agrees with them.

  • lifelong dem leaving party

    ditto.

tired of being told i’m racist and stupid and uneducated because i find obama repugnant. tired of being told that hillary is only where she is because of bill – liars! tired of obama making references to her “having tea” then obamabots saying oh no he never disparaged her contributions. tired of the whole mess.

cynical enough to have given up hope on our party coming to its senses. but will be extremely happy when obama loses big time in the general. hate the idea of seeing his face and hearing his name until november (although change the channel quickly), but look forward to his complete disappearance from the limelight after his disastrous trouncing by mccain.

hope hillary can win later, since the boys have made sure she can’t this year. and hope we can have an african-american president in my lifetime (God willing another 20 or 30 years), but not this one! never this one!

  • lifelong dem leaving party

i don’t care what pelosi and dean do. too little too late too bad so sad. they’ve lost me. they could grant florida and michigan double votes and i still wouldn’t care. they disgust me. fuck them. period. whatever they do can’t undo the harm that’s already been done by creating the perception of the inevitable obama nomination.

i’m looking forward to the 527 ad for mccain about the hamas people in gaza doing calls to primary states to get votes for obama –

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=21YF7ggCG6g.

already we know that his church did a pro-hamas church bulletin. so obama says he doesn’t read the bulletins. yeah right! now we see hamas people making calls for him. he’ll say he can’t control that – maybe, maybe not. but won’t matter. can’t wait to see the ads. obamaites excuse and rationalize anything. they don’t understand that repubs won’t see it that way.

  • lifelong dem leaving party

so right, mimi. they could end up with a very serious case of oxygen deprivation waiting for us to come around. oxygen deprivation causes brain damage, but they apparently already have that if they think we’ll forgive and forget. not by november. and not by 2012 or 2016 or whenever if the same idiots are still running the party.

  • CAE

Normally I would agree to no on McCain, but Obama is such a weak and vulnerable candidate that if he were elected it would mean a four year breather for the GOP. I would rather see McCain spazzing out trying to deal with an uncooperative congress than give the GOP four more years to come up with a better candidate.

  • wry

Yeah, I love Hillary for her strength to rise above this, but I can’t. I’m sick of the sexism in my party that I’ve supported for 30 years. Mustn’t offend the 26 year old netroot bloggers, mustn’t offend the “independent voters” and the caucus bullies. Well guess what Howard and Nancy, you’ve offended me!
“young voters” will move on to the next new thing in fifteen minutes anyway, and you’ll be left with no one to pour the damned coffee.

  • wry

Good idea! Voting against the super delegates as well. Spread the word!
