Greetings,

As long as I am at it, I thought I would post this that came through Democrats_2008 today; it goes along with this thread on Miller and the Bush Administration.

Front group associated with Cheney calls for Bush to be dictator... for life...
Buckle up kiddies. I am cranky and this is not making things better:

Family Security Matters a neo-conservative based think tank has published an article advocating that George W. Bush should be a dictator for life. The organization has since taken the article down, but is still viewable via this cached link.

"Conquering the Drawbacks of Democracy:" By Philip Atkinson

The article written by Philip Atkinson states that Bush would fail his country by becoming an ex-President or can achieve greatness by becoming President-for-Life Bush in order to bring sense to Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Atkinson is bluntly advocating that Bush should become dictator for life with these outrageously anti-American statements.

From the article:

President Bush can fail in his duty to himself, his country, and his God, by becoming “ex-president” Bush or he can become “President-for-Life” Bush: the conqueror of Iraq, who brings sense to the Congress and sanity to the Supreme Court. Then who would be able to stop Bush from emulating Augustus Caesar and becoming ruler of the world? For only an America united under one ruler has the power to save humanity from the threat of a new Dark Age wrought by terrorists armed with nuclear weapons.

Atkinson also advocates that Bush should get rid of everyone in Iraq through military force and repopulate the country with Americans.

From the article:

If President Bush copied Julius Caesar by ordering his army to empty Iraq of Arabs and repopulate the country with Americans, he would achieve immediate results: popularity with his military; enrichment of America by converting an Arabian Iraq into an American Iraq (therefore turning it from a liability to an asset); and boost American prestiege while terrifying American enemies.

Although these statements by Atkinson are completely insane and entirely anti-American, the author also shows complete ignorance as to the type of government the United States is supposed to be. The author states that Bush is a victim of Democracy when in fact the United States is not a Democracy.

From the article:

Yet in 2007 he is generally despised, with many citizens of Western civilization expressing contempt for his person and his policies, sentiments which now abound on the Internet. This rage at President Bush is an inevitable result of the system of government demanded by the people, which is Democracy.

The inadequacy of Democracy, rule by the majority, is undeniable – for it demands adopting ideas because they are popular, rather than because they are wise. This means that any man chosen to act as an agent of the people is placed in an invidious position: if he commits folly because it is popular, then he will be held responsible for the inevitable result. If he refuses to commit folly, then he will be detested by most citizens because he is frustrating their demands.

Although I do agree that Democracy is a horrible form of government, Atkinson's argument holds no water since we do not have a Democracy in this country. The United States is in fact a Constitutional Republic, so it is not possible for Bush to be a victim of Democracy.

Unfortunately, Atkinson might get his wish of a Bush dictatorship. The HSPD-20/NSPD-51 directives issued by Bush states that the President is to have complete control over all three branches of government during a catastrophic emergency. In addition, the Department of Homeland Security plans for continuity of government operations have been kept secret from Congress.

Either way, Atkinson the author of this article is clearly an insane individual who hates America. From advocating the colonization of Iraq with Americans as well as a Bush dictatorship, it is clear this individual needs some serious help. It also leaves questions as to the judgment of this Family Security Matters organization considering they openly published this anti-American trash. An investigation by Free Market News Network, found that Family Security Matters is actually a front group for the Center for Security Policy a group that Vice President Dick Cheney is a known associate of. Removing the article was clearly a means of damage control and it shows how rabid and insane the neo-conservative base has become. This article shows that today's neo-conservative is nothing more than the 21st century equivalent of a Nazi in pre World War II Germany.

This is what comes of aligning with fascists in order to fight the Commies. Both should have been the enemy.

Conservatives preach about liberty and freedom. Liberals put them into practice.

By the way, there are many liberals who don't support Obama--I missed the kool-aid calling (and there is that little point about thinking for one's self). Have fun.

Greetings,

I am not sure what, exactly, Lynette is complaining about; I missed the accronym she is refering to. Why is she blaming us because Obama had a poorly run campaign? Hillary had a good campaign, and is clearly the better candidate to run against McCain. And it is BECAUSE she is the best candidate for President that the leaders of the Democratic Party had better wake up. I am not worried about the party's best interest, just the country's.

Can you feel the power in the following songs? Music can have such a tremendous impact on the spirit.

“This is a land full of power and glory,
        Beauty that words cannot recall.
But her power shall rest on the strength of her freedom.
Her glory shall rest on us all.”

Phil Ochs, songwriter and singer

Dec 19, 1940--Apr 09, 1976

A takeoff on the "This land is our land" song, slightly modified. Lyrics as reprinted in Fred and Irwin Silber (eds.), The Folksinger's Wordbook, New York, NY, 1973, p. 315.

This land is their land,
It isn't our land,
From the Wall Street office
To the Cadillac car-land;
From the plush apartments
To the Hollywood starland,
This land is not for you and me.

If this is our land,
You'd never know it,
So take your bullshit
And kindly stow it,
Let's get together
And overthrow it,
Then this land will be for you and me.

To take back this country, that is what we are gathered here for.

Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond recently issued a letter to Democrats to get on board. You can see their letter at: http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/07/top_democratic_official_sends.php -- I wanted to share my response to them.

Dear Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond:

I am writing in response to a letter from you that I saw at the site
listed above. I respectfully want to say that I completely think you
are missing the point of the large masses of people who take issue
with the primaries. When I saw the bias in the media in January of
this year - I had not yet decided who I was going to vote for. I was
leaning towards Sen. Biden before he dropped out. But the media came
down on Sen. Clinton like I have never seen. This happened while Sen.
Obama was put on a pedestal - not criticized, not analyzed with any
depth. And this did have an impact on the results. My cousin - an
Obama supporter - saw this bias. My dad - a republican - saw this
bias. In fact, I encountered few people who didn't. And so it
completely boggled my mind why no prominent Democratic leader stood up
at the time and called this out. In fact, the first person and/or
outlet that I saw report on this was Saturday Night Live when they
finally came back after the writer's strike. Only then did people
slowly start talking about the elephant in the room - the
discrimination and hatred towards our most successful female
presidential candidate and the rock star treatment of Obama. Tell me
Mr. Fowler and Ms. Germond - exactly where were you during this
blatant bias and why did we not hear your voices. Had the situation
been reversed- and the primaries were wrought with racial
discrimination that was accepted and glorified by the media - what
choices would you have made? Would you have remained silent, or would
you have stood up for a member of your own party and for basic civil
rights? I really would like you to reply and let me know the answer
to that question.

Additionally, people keep talking about the fact that Obama is
exciting because he is bringing "change". I guess they can't speak of
his long experience, his record, his accomplishments, or any of those
aspects - and so they speak of this so-called "change". Let me tell
you my limited experience with those who represent both the democratic
party and those who represent Obama. I have personally encountered a
lot of hatred. I recently sent emails to delegates. It was not a
divisive email. There was nothing negative against Obama. It was
simply a request to allow the roll call at the convention for Sen.
Clinton. I received an email back from an Obama delegate in Texas -
Amy Everhart. Her exact words were: "Get over it, loser." I was
shocked. This is who represents your party. This aligns with the
type of hatred that I have seen from many Obama supporters. We
corresponded a few times over email and in a subsequent email - she
did admit that she saw the sexism in the media. And so - I ask you
again - if the situation were reversed - and Obama was discriminated
against in the media, would you understand if black America formed
coalitions to rise up to address this important issue - or would just
tell them to "Get over it losers." Or as you put it -- would you feel
"fatigue and irritation" for so many people's unwillingness to get in
line? I don't support Obama because he does not have the
qualifications to be president. However, had this reverse situation
happened - I would have rooted on any Obama supporters for taking on a
much bigger issue than party affiliation. After all, what good is the
Democratic Party - a party that is supposed to stand for civil rights
and fairness for all - when they do not practice what they preach?

And so.... you may feel fatigued and irritated - and we are so sorry
that it has touched your life so. But you need to ask yourself - why
are there so many groups forming from nothing and challenging this
election? Do you think we just are doing it for fun? Look - I
normally have better things to do than write a bunch of strangers with
more power than me to tell them to open their eyes and look outside
their Washington bubble for 2 seconds. But - here I am - getting
involved with politics for the first time in my life... because I
simply cannot allow this to happen without speaking up. Do not
expect others to get on board with a party that ignores their own
principles. My friends - it is just not going to happen.

Hi Larry,
I read a post from Will Bower concerning our campaign debt. Has the debt really been retired? Can you confirm this? I can't wait to start jumping up and down!

to hell with Judith Miller. Every Republican and Democrat in the U.S. Government and its corporate state media should be tarred and feathered for lying to start an illegal war of conquest in Iraq. 50+ British killed and its called terrorism, 100,000+ Iraqis killed and its called freedom!

A Question:

Is there any evidence that the Bush administration withheld suspected Iraqi WMD-site intelligence from the U.N. WMD inspectors on the ground in Iraq in the months before war started?

I can imagine the Busheviks doing this. They grudgingly went to the U.N., and we know how much they like the U.N.. And then U.N. WMD inspectors did return to pre-war Iraq. Why do I have the sneaking suspicion, therefore, that the Busheviks decided to be very uncooperative with the U.N. WMD inspectors as far as sharing intelligence with them?

Pre-war, Busheviks stated emphatically that they knew "exactly" where Saddam Hussein's WMD was hidden. Exactly? Were the U.N. inspectors in Iraq informed about these "exact" locations? I don't think so.

One article written by an embedded reporter at the beginning of the war stoked my curiosity. In it, the writer stated that the unit he/she was with pulled out of a raging, ongoing battle, skirted it and raced ahead to check out a suspected, hidden WMD site.

My thought at the time was, "why the hurry? Hadn't this apparently prime WMD site been already checked out by the U.N. inspectors during the previous months? Oooh, not unless the Busheviks withheld intelligence information from the U.N. inspectors in the run up to the start of war!"

I guess this would be just another example of the Busheviks "fixing," or using, intelligence for their own nefarious purposes.

Anyone consider that J.Miller might be an Israeli agent and a plant in the NYTimes? She is clearly a radically politicized reporter committed to the spread of government propaganda. She does not really resemble a reporter as much as a policy ideologue. She could very easily be an Israeli mole. Remember that The NYTimes has a very large and devoted Jewish readership that is rabidly pro-Israel. Many of them were fooled into beleiving the WMD myth and were terrified that Hussein was getting ready to launch a bio attack against Israel. Remember all the nonsense about his 'medium range missles'? This was all disseminated as government propaganda to make people hysterical and to cultivate the proper fear base for the Invasion. My brother, a fairly level-headed doctor, a graduate of Harvard and a liberal was pro-invasion for these reasons only. Yes I beleive its quite possible that J. Miller is some kind of government agent. Who knows? Perhaps one in the grand tradition of G.Gordon Liddy. One willing to take one up the ass for her boss. If she isn't a spy then she sure is one hysterical war criminal. They hung Nazi propagandists at Nuremberg for spreading lies and fomenting wars of aggression. If the Hague ever really did gain jurisdiction and power she could very easily be given life for her obfuscations and crimes. Just think about the consequences of one person's actions. What a contribution to war, imperial occupation, outrageous profiteering and smokescreening, torture, the condoning of torture and the grand deceit of a regime drunk on its own power this subhuman has made.

The greater shame is that the faux journalists in this country are turning Miller into a martyr for the cause. Her lies were largely responsible for giving credibility to the march for war. The lapdog press continues to cower in fear rather than clamor for justice in this vicious crime against a whistle blower who exposed Bush's Niger myth.

For shame.

Miller was and is a schill for the administration. I would venture to speculate that she has been either in the direct employ of the CIA disinformation bureau or has received training and or funding from a government entity(i.e. suposedly moribund Pentagon Disinformation branch). She now smirks as she is escorted off to jail. How much is Karl paying her to protect his slimy butt?

The bitch should fry for treason.

This is no First Amendment issue, not when the act of disclosing national security informatoin (like the I.D. of CIA assets) is a fucking CRIME.

Judith "Queen of Iraq who carries water for the Bush administration while posing as a NYTimes reporter" Miller should be hung. It fucking pisses me off that MY tax dollars are feeding the lying bitch.

In light of Judy Miller's support for the White House cabal... and in light of the fact that she never submitted a story on the "Plame Affair" maybe she does not want her role in the Wilson smear exposed to the world. In other words maybe she is protecting herself.
