Wrt to comparing Pearl Harbor with 9/11, the reason why Truman was able to finish off the Japanese within three years are two monstrosities called Hiroshima and Nagasaki, grave war crimes. Can't really say that I find that very impressive. Nothing the US should be proud of. Can you imagine Bush saying "that's fucking it, let's nuke Iraq and the Afghan/Pakistani border region" and actually doing it, just to finish off Al-Qaeda?
