What's wrong with you, expecting intellectual consistency from the media? Yes indeed, if they attempt to humanize themselves (see Hilary Clinton today) they're lampooned....but when they elucidate policies, they're written off as wonks. But it's the liberal media's fault!!

Wow! So it's all Bill Clinton's fault?
I seem to recall Clinton being criticised roundly by the media for being too much of a wonk, giving too many policy details in his speeches. (Ditto for Gore.) His State of the Union addreses were described as "laundry lists" of proposals. You may not have liked what he proposed, but there was substance there, and the public liked it.
In contrast, Obama speaks in platitudes. (Change? We got plenty of change in 2000 and look how that worked out!) However, the media loves this kind of simplistic drivel. They hate to have to analyze detail because it takes work.

Absolutely right. It's this constant, unending feed of empty suits which is demoralizing this country and creating such immeasurable cynicism and disillusionment among the American people and then Obama claims he is a candidate of change.....but change from what? George Bush changes tomorrow. He is wearing different clothes. He is spouting a couple of different words. These people diminish the meaning of change when they spout such fatuous, empty platitudes. The cynicism of the American political establishment only continues to amaze-and depress. And the really sad thing is that it's obvious he has some very clued-in insiders when the man himself, I get the sense, knows how he could truly galvanize and shake America up. He's smart enough, capable enough, imaginative enough, to really shake things up. But he's obviously calculating enough to overlook these attributes, and that is ultimately just very very sad.
