The most remarkable facet of Obama’s 92-minute discussion was that, at the outset, he pledged to answer every question the three dozen Tribune journalists crammed into the room would put to him. And he did….

When we endorsed Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination Jan. 27, we said we had formed our opinions of him during 12 years of scrutiny. We concluded that the professional judgment and personal decency with which he has managed himself and his ambition distinguish him.

Nothing Obama said in our editorial board room Friday diminishes that verdict.”

Also, Zell, a real estate developer, MUST be connected to Obama, Rezko and Auchi somehow, Obama being the Kevin Bacon of the politically corrupt.

Is Rezko still a friend?

“Yes,” Obama said, “with the caveat if it turns out the allegations are true, then he’s not who I thought he was, and I’d be very disappointed with that.”

And it’s that friendship, Obama said, that probably kept him from realizing it was a mistake to enter into a real estate deal with Rezko.

“Probably because I’d known him for a long time, and he’d acted in an aboveboard manner with me,” he said. “And I considered him a friend. … It’s further evidence that I’m not perfect.”

Hey, this is slightly OT, but why isn’t Michele’s comment that she wants to rip Clinton’s eyes out getting more play?

It’s so revolting, no one wants to touch it, it’s lower class, you know, unworthy of a future persidency, this lack of control, class and world class diplomacy.

Truthfully, people feel embarassed for her.

The stereotype is of the Obama’s as ghetto trash, and the republicans will exploit it, essentially giving the Obama’s enough rope.

I agree. Obama has gone beyond damaging himself to now starting to damage the entire party.

And the democratic party leaders will keep their heads in the sand, doing nothing.

This calls for bold decisive courageous leadership, and the ostensible democratic leaders, will again, fail.

I hope Clinton’s people can start to assert more control of the party, because without, the democrats are fated toward a wash, in the fall.
