Obama’s pastor Jeremiah Wright - NEW videos

UPDATE: On Feb. 20, after a fiery guest sermon by Wright in Little Rock, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette ran an article that said: “On Tuesday, Wright criticized the U.S. invasion of Iraq and likened the insurgents to the Israelites under Babylonian rule.” (Politico)

– Watch throughout. Among the never-seen-before videos, included in the clips above, are Wright’s comments about Israel. Fox News aired those new videos on Friday, March 14, 2008. Now, here’s yesteday’s interview of Barack Obama by Fox News reporter Major Garrett, who is assigned to the Obama campaign:

BELOW: The video of Jeremiah Wright’s ONLY interview on a U.S. network, in 2007 on Hannity & Colmes on Fox News. (On March 14 — yesterday — Hannity & Colmes replayed this 2007 interview in full.)

Read “Obama’s Church: Cauldron of Division.” A snippet:

[Obama] continues to attend a controversial Chicago church whose pastor routinely refers to “white arrogance” and “the United States of White America.”

In fact, Obama was in attendance at the church when these statements were made on July 22. [CONTINUED below]

[...]

A visit to Wright’s Trinity United is anything but Oprah-style friendly.

As I approached the entrance of the church before a recent Sunday service, a large young man in an expensive suit stepped out to block the doorway.

“What are you doing here?” he asked.

“I came to hear Dr. Wright,” I replied.

After an uncomfortable pause, the gentleman stepped aside.

On this particular July Sabbath morning, only a handful of white men — aside from a few members of Obama’s Secret Service detail — were present among a congregation of approximately 2,500 people.

The floral arrangements were extravagant. Wright, his associate pastors, choir members, and many of the gentlemen in the congregation were attired in traditional African dashiki robes. African drums accompanied the organist. … Read the rest of “Obama’s Church: Cauldron of Division.”

HERE is the 2007 interview of Jeremiah Wright — the only interview of Wright on any network — posted in March 2007 at YouTube:

Wright is clearly delusional and insane. What does that say about Obama that Wright is his spiritual mentor?

Comment by TeresaINPa | 2008-03-17 09:27:59

I don’t know about Insane, but he is clearly off in left field. I think Obama sat and listened to this crap for 20 years and should stop throwing his good friend and mentor under the bus.

ps.. .I can not listen to all these tapes. I am interested in finding out if the guy spouted anti-gay rhetoric while on the pulpit. Gay baiting in the black church is one of my pet peeves.

Comment by Bill Lynch | 2008-05-02 13:52:50

Where there is one kind of hatred, usually others creep in. Wright has made token gestures toward HIV/PWA’s but anti-Semites in the pulpit also claim they just “love” the Jewish people. Black homophobia is no less real than White homophobia and it is not just the Robertsons and Falwells; Louis Farrakhan cannot be forgotten. Usually those who bash Jews are anti-gay as well. Wright may feel okay supporting gay rights if he sees it as undermining the White “power structure” he is so paranoid about. One problem with the gay community is many think as long as someone is not openly homophobic they are okay, and we must look at the larger picture. If Wright feels White gays are more privileged than Black gays he would denounce White gays. With him, it’s hard to believe he has any love for White people, gay or straight.
Wright could not get away with this free expression in any African nation and certainly he could not live in his costly digs while cursing out that nation’s name and integrity. He does not go back to “The Motherland” of Africa because in this “evil, racist America” he has found the only place that will tolerate his nonsense.

Obama’s interview with Major Garret is rich. Because Obama was working in the Senate all day he did not learn of this controversy until he got back to Chicgo late Friday night. I bet it became known and he fully understood the consequences to his campaign as he was flying over Pennsylvania. That was pretty fast work setting all those live interviews (KO, FOX, Cooper) upon arriving home in Chicago.

Little Lord Obama’s pants are on fire again! Looks like his lies and deceptions have come back to haunt him. It’s about time.

Clever YouTubers out there - splice in Wright’s pelvic-thrusting sermon of Bill riding Monica the way he rides the black community with Obama answering Major Garrett that Wright is “a biblical scholar” and “well-regarded preacher” known for “talking about the social gospel” and “if I thought that was the repeated tenor of the church then I wouldn’t feel comfortable.”

Also be sure to get the part of Obama saying he’s been a member for twenty years but has known Wright longer.

Comment by Taylor | 2008-03-19 01:09:58

Well, youre actually wrong about that. The article just showed that he WAS present during an anti-white america sermon and nodded his head in agreement the whole time. This story was on newsmax way before the sermon that talked in detail about why blacks should not vote for hillary was leaked. Plus he dnied ever being present during something controversial… but then he admitted that he was today.

I read through the first page of comments and was
slapped in the face again about the right-wing’s
re-phrasing and twisting Democrats’ views…or statements.

Very clever how he twisted Hillary Clinton’s LBJ remark…

“although her statement, which carried the inference that blacks owed Democrats given that President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (despite more Republicans than Democrats having voted for it) was a bit weak.”

Plus he was quoting Dick Morris, of all things. ( the inference wasn’t there except in this blogger’s mind. clever, huh?}

And we are reading this right-wing blogger because?

“although her statement, which carried the inference that blacks owed Democrats given that President Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (despite more Republicans than Democrats having voted for it) was a bit weak.”

That’s sadly true, however, most of those Democrats soon became Republicans… the other shoe Repub’s never mention.

But I agree that link is of no value other than to get a glimpse of how the far right thinks.

My…My, aren’t we the sweet innocent little peach! Your slandering-pandering partisan nonsense is what it is Suzy-Q. Pretending to be an honest objective observer of the ongoing debate doesn’t pass the smell test. You and your mentor, Saint Larry of Dis-information, have turned what used to be an interesting forum of diverse opinion into a partisan swamp of invective and pejorative “silly season” nonsense. The choice before the American people is far less than ideal for sure, but we must remove the Conservative ideologues from control of our government, be they Republican or Democrat, and that presents all of us with only one reasonable choice. This not about the dissembling rhetoric of the religionists and their idiotic obsessions, nor it is not about the pandering distractions that the corporate media feed the mindless racist and feminist lemmings, it is about a “populist uprising” by the college youth, the informed professionals, and the progressive citizens who want to change the path our government is on politically, economically, and militarily.
You and your sycophants herein, with your slander and misinformation, are a small part of the problem that, hopefully, will be relegated to the dust bin of our political history.

Little Lord Obama doesn’t think holding the “Conservative ideologues” accountable is warranted. His OWN words. He didn’t have a problem signing on to Cheney’s SECRET energy bill, either. How has pumping gas been working out for YOU lately? Hell, the list goes on and on.

It’s laughable to suggest that Sue (Suzy-Q…again, YOUR words) doesn’t pass the smell test. I thought Obamatrons were “above the fray” and didn’t need to resort to pettiness and divisive behavior. Obama’s 2006 Earmarks

Sen. Barack Obama released his list of 2006 legislation with earmarks today. He has the list on his website here.

Among them, an $8 million request for the “High Explosive Air Burst Technology Program.” Ultimately, $1.3 million in funding was awarded for the program. [More...]

the defense project was overseen by General Dynamics, one of the nation’s largest military contractors. Obama’s Illinois finance chairman, James S. Crown, serves on the company’s board of directors and his family holds a sizable stake in the company.

Crown and his wife, Paula Crown, are members of Obama’s National Finance Committee and have raised more than $200,000 for the Obama campaign, according to a list of fundraisers posted on Obama’s campaign website.

snip: from OBAMA’S WEB SITE…

The request reads (from his website):

Obama Requested $8 Million And Helped Secure $1.3 Million For The High Explosive Air Burst Technology Program. In 2006, Obama requested $8 million and helped secure $1.3 million for High Explosive Air Burst Technology funding. Through General Dynamics, this project supported the 25mm Bushmaster cannon, the primary weapon on the Army Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV) and the US Marines’ Light Armor Vehicle (LAV). Under contract for System Design and Demonstration (SDD), GD-OTS is developing a Family of Ammunition for the Army’s Future Combat System (FCS) to include a High Explosive Air Burst (HEAB) round. This program will upgrade the capability of the current forces BFV and LAV. Additional funding for the 25mm HEAB for the SFV and LAV will ensure this program will run effectively during its planned service until 2051. [House Report 109-676 (109th Congress); Obama Request Letter To The Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, 2006]

General Dynamics in 2006 was the largest military contractor in the world.

SNIP:
Mr. Crown, whose family’s investments include a major stake in the military contractor General Dynamics, said family members normally avoided taking sides in a primary, in part because it was not good for business. But with Mr. Obama, they made an exception, with 10 family members giving a total of $112,500. “I was just so personally impressed with Barack that it was worth the risk,” Mr. Crown said.

SNIP:

organization’s diverse interests range from large-scale office buildings such as Rockefeller Center in New York City, to Aspen Ski Company and the Ojai Resort in Ojai California. Additionally, the Crown family holds significant stock positions and board memberships in General Dynamics, JP Morgan Chase, Sara Lee, and Hilton Hotels, as well as investment holdings in the New York Yankees and Chicago Bulls.

GEE, OBAMA ..I WONDER HOW THOSE MAYTAG WORKERS ARE DOING NOW?????????

OH …YOU WORKERS THOUGHT OBAMA WAS GOING TO TALK TO CROWN ABOUT YOUR JOBS????..WELL MR. CROWN SAYS OBAMA DIDN’T..

I BET …MR. CROWN WAS IMPRESSED WITH OBAMA.

This appears to be far worse than the NAFTA-gate lie, because he has seems to have no real defense. How can he pretend that he actually knew he wasn’t present at any of the comments, when he demonstrably was?

What’s he going to say, Oh, I didn’t know about that particular comment? Then how could he make the blanket claim that he wasn’t present at any of them, if he wasn’t even aware of what all of them were?

Comment by PMS | 2008-03-15 13:27:22

How can he pretend that he actually knew he wasn’t present at any of the comments, when he demonstrably was?

Well, he’ll probably laugh, and say, “You know Larry, I don’t listen to sermons in church. Nobody does. Do you?” And then another laugh.

If that line doesn’t fly, he’ll say that Wright “hoodwinked me, he bamboozled me, I was boneheaded… but don’t forget, I possess superior judgment to Hillary Clinton.”

Barack: Here’s the $64,000 question that’s so worrisome to so many Democratic voters. What else is out there? What don’t we know about you that the Republicans and Fox News are holding for October? You’ve admitted fudging on Rezko donations. You’ve fudged on The Trinity United Church of Hate. You accidentally “pressed the wrong buttons” on many votes back in the Illinois legislature. What else, please?

Comment by Mary | 2008-03-15 14:16:32

The question I haven’t seen anyone ask yet is why did Obama choose last night to slip in the extra Rezko information? Yes, Friday night is considered, I think, to be the end of the week’s news cycle. But that’s my point. He obviously wanted to slip this in so that later he could say he already revealed that. It makes me wonder what *else* he knows is coming out concerning his relationship with this slumlord.
Maybe I’m cynical (sp?). But I think I have pretty good reason, don’t you?

I’m with you Fed Up. What else is going to surface? At this point, not only has Obama lost all credibility, but the Democrats who support him look like the Republican’s worst stereotype of anti-American, far left wingers. I want BO out of the picture before they can use this against all Dems.

What is most sad for Obama’s followers is that Obama is not “left.” He is nothing more than an opportunistic demagogue, like his “spiritual leader” Rev. Wright. When has Obama done anything substantial to stop the war, restore our Constitution, break up corporate monopolies, promote alternative energy?

Comment by Kathy | 2008-03-15 14:02:39

Maybe out of respect, Wright only preached about love and Jesus when Obama was there. On the other days, say when Obama was traveling or slept in, he said all this new and inflammatory stuff that had people jumping up and clapping and shouting “amen.”

I mean, that makes sense, right? Because that’s what Obama is saying, that it never happened when he was there.

Comment by apishapa | 2008-03-15 14:08:49

Either Obama is not as regular a church-goer as he likes to have us believe, or he is lying, because it seems that Rev. Wright goes on these rants quite often.

I think Obama’s attachement to the good Reverand has more to do with the fact that he is as is pointed out in every aticle about him; “one of the most powerful black ministers in the nation“. I think Obama attends that particular church and has as his advisor that particular minister, for the same reasoon he has so many other questionable asociations (Rezko, etc). These are powerful people and Obama likes to associate himself with power.

Now that it has come back to bite him in the ass, he is hell bent on running away from his close friends and advisors.

I have seen other politicians do the same thing; they always attend the most “powerful” church in the community and there’s a reason they do it too.

Yes, such as Bush and Haggard. That one was a real winner. I hope everyone remembers that Bush had Rev. Haggard advising him on many national issues. Too bad we didn’t know about that little association before the election. This time we do know about some of these questionable advisors in Obama’s life.

Do, we want Reverand Wright advising President Obama? Does anyone believe Obama will truly sever ties with his most trusted spiritual advisor for over twenty years?

Another problem for Barack is the Rezko issue. Is Rezko the “white man” that Rev. Wright warns about? Just where did Rezko get the money to donate to Obama’s campaigns? How many apartments in Chicago had to go without heat to make up that $250,000.00 Rezko donated to Barry. And how many poor Chicagoans had to forgo improvements in their dire living conditions to have the $600,000.00 to buy that landlocked vacant lot so Barrack could buy his mansion away from the mean streets? It is not pretty and it is not ethical and it stinks. If Barack used Rezko money for his grand lifestyle, does that make Obama culpable for the slum conditions imposed on his constituents? And if he didn’t know this, he is either lying or……

Is Rezko the “white man” that Rev. Wright warns about?

Fascinating question.

As for where Rezko got his money, use our search engine to look up “Auchi.” And SIMON and TEAKWOODKITE — chime in. (Those two know this subterranean, bamboozling story like few others.)

Comment by TeakWoodKite | 2008-03-15 17:39:04

My Apologies about the long post. SusanUnPc, you are to kind, as I would have to quit my job and be full time at this to get through all the influence peddling Obama and Michelle have been a party to. (As it is, I am purchasing a monster laptop to support all the concurrent pages and not get “virtual memory low errors”.)

Obama states that the seller had “someone” that had an option on the lot that was connected to Rezko. I have not been able, as of yet, to find the person’s name. (FIND THAT MAN!)

Keep in mind that the seller did not look to subdivide until Michelle Obama became aware of the property while serving on the Historic Landmark commission.

The line Obama is pushing in the last reiteration, that their Realtor told them about the property it is pure bullshit. It is meant to deflect attention away from Michelle Obama using her position on the Historic Landmark commission to jam the seller. The Realtor has stated publicly that she was the “contact-e”.

What nags at me is why the sellers have not spoken publicly, what if any hush factors are involved in their silence and why the only “statement” ,in the form of email, from the seller is from Obama’s campaign.
I ask myself, If I was Obama I would want the sellers front and center, if there was nothing to hide. The sellers have been told to STFU by their lawyer and or Fitzgerald’s office.

Obama told the Sun-Times that neither he nor his campaign fund had been served with subpoenas, and had not been interviewed by Rezko’s defense team.

Notice how parsed this statement is and does not include any reference to any steps taken by Fitzgerald. Voluntary Depositions, grand jury testimony and the like don’t always require subpoenas.

And asked whether Rezko introduced him to a lot of people, Obama said: “He was helpful to me, as I said, early in my career. Not so much introducing, but reinforcing relationships with aldermen and people on the South Side, mainly because of his development work.

Obama has said that the alderman would have known about the conditions of these properties with out heat and water, not him. He defended the owners in COURT, the outcome being a 100 dollar fine. He not only knew enough to mount a defense and had “re-enforced” his relationship with the alderman in his sphere of influence pedaling. Which alderman and which people?

They said [the house] had to close the same day as the [lot closed]
Answer: “I understand, but they already had an option [on the lot]”
Question: So, how did Rezko jump ahead of the guy with the option?
Answer: “That I don’t know.”

Yes he does because it is someone they both know. Rezko had someone place a marker while he got the funds lined up.
Fitzgerald knows this.

Comment by Mel | 2008-03-15 14:58:38

During the interviews yesterday, if Obama lied over attending the church during any of the questionable preachings, which he did lie over, then guess lying about Rezko is easier, since to lie about ones faith is worse than lying over ones patrons!

What suprised me in retrospect is the talk of the land strip! Obama claimed he paid 1/6th the price Rezko paid for the land to show no inapropriate act on Obama’s part! Ok, so how come no reporter jumped up to ask about the $14,500 fence Rezko install as part of the deal? So the strip of land was a net sale of $90,000, below the price Obama claimed and another graft payment to Obama from Rezko!

Original asking for the entire parcels of land if memory is correct (if not, I take the Obama jive) was $2.3 million so the sellers got their price, so what was the deal when Rezko came in, what was discussed during the walk through, doubt it was gee nice place, or are people really that ignorant? Was Rezko’s former partner and the one who placed the initial offer on the land, Obama’s first attempt at buying the property? Can we take Obama at his word when he flat out lied about his church?

Gut feeling is Obama sprung the interviews so no one was really prepared, now Obama can go merrily on his way saying geez guys, I sat down with you and again you are bringing things up when it was all discussed before!

Control the clock in any sport and you control the outcome of the game! Obama did just that once again!

This kind of grandstanding, dashiki-wearing, carnival-barker showmanship are embarassing. I would respect Obama more if he had Malcolm X as a spiritual mentor rather than this dude. Intellectual cogency was a Malcolm X trademark. This guy doesn’t have it.

What a mish-mash of paranoid ramblng (the government invented AIDS to target black people), twisted logic (the brothers should turn their guns on who instead of on each other?) blowhard vanity and the occasional accurate remark.

I wonder if Obama was even paying attention when he was in church. It makes it seem like he did it for opportunistic reasons, to better relate to the constitutency he was building then.

Wouldn’t matter, anyway.

Its hateful, it sounds kooky, and it blames America, and white men, as opposed to a system most were trying to change. Even as a victim, it’s not the American way to seek revenge, an action which is only internecine. Justice is another thing…

Would be a shame, though, if Wright, through his church, were connected to the greater financial corruption around Obama.

Is it connected to the Nation of Islam?

There is no excuse, it is appallingly BAD judgement.

Earlier on the day that Obama visited the nursery school, she addressed a congregation at the Pee Dee Union Baptist Church, in Cheraw, a hamlet of about six thousand known as “The Prettiest Town in Dixie.” The church’s makeshift gravel parking lot, next to the Pee Dee Ice and Fuel Company and bounded by train tracks, was full. After an invocation by the Reverend Jerry Corbett and an introduction by the mayor of Cheraw, Obama came to the pulpit. “You all got up bright and early just for me?” she asked the mostly elderly, almost all-black crowd. “Yes!” they roared.

Obama continued, “On behalf of my church home and my pastor, Reverend Wright, I bring greetings.”

In the story about Obama’s church on Newsmax, it mentioned that Oprah had attended this church but wasn’t there very long and distanced herself from
Wright after she left….so what did she hear that
Obama says he never heard and maybe she should have told her buddy Obama….get out of there.

Hmmmm. And how long before Oprah realizes what a drag Barack’s going to be on HER bottom line?

Didn’t Mark Furman say he never used that word. 2 week vacation , 3 month sabatical. Hiding your spiritual leader and mentor, hmmmm.

BO claims that the sermons HE heard were all positive, help the poor, bla, bla, bla. Yet, none of the congregants seems shocked to be hearing Wright’s rants and attacks. In fact, they’re pretty in to it!

Well.. I doubt that Obama chose that church, as some have questioned, because of its power. If his book is to be believed, he chose it because he “felt at home” there. There is absoutely no way that he did not know of the church’s preachings. Wright is a “mentor” “spiritual advisor” “friend” and “moral compass” to Obama. That is not the drop-in on major holidays type of relationship with the church. It’s his church. He donates thousands of dollars to them.

Ironically, there are groups of black ministers who are quite angry with Obama for dropping Rev. Wright and denouncing him like this. I think that Wright’s teachings are vile and hateful, and it distresses me to find out what Obama supports and holds close to his family — maybe even more disturbing is that he will disavow his “spiritual home” after 20 years, all in the pursuit of the White House. This is not a casual acquaintance or a work colleague, Wright was family to him… Michelle calls it her “church home”, and yetit’s worth nothing because he wants the White House so badly.

If he had any character, he’d resign his campaign today instead of selling out his church (as wrong as they are.)

They took all the clips down from YouTube. They probably think they can hide the facts from us by doing that.

They’re running scared. Good.

This is only the beginning. Count on it.

These people are secret anti-american from wright to Resko to Ayers. Obama hangs with anti-americans who are very un-happy with this country as is his wife. Therefore he is too, very dangerous. He is very friendly with Isreal’s foes, very dangerous. We as a country are flirting with fire. This man should not be the Prez not the VP.

Getting yourself pastored by a radical hater shows bad judgment. Lying about it when asked by the media shows dishonesty. Request for presidency denied.
