We Are The Ones [Update]

UPDATE: He-is-the-one’s big speech — he’s “multi-racial,” says surrogate Susan Rice on Morning Joe today — is at 10:15 a.m. ET. You can be sure that all the news networks will carry it live. I wish they’d done the same for Hillary Clinton’s remarkable speech on Iraq yesterday. (We are getting the video and text of Hillary’s speech, and will have it up today.) P.S. If you missed it, read Larry Johnson’s send-up of Ms. Rice.

Can you hear me?

It’s Flineo’s latest. See his other videos, most of which we have featured here. Proudly.

Over at MyDD, where my story below is running in the recommended list, I added this video at the top of the story, along with these remarks — because they’re attacking me and my character, per usual:

Those people shown at the end of the video? Those are the people who will have heard Jeremiah Wright’s words and will not forget. And no excuse-making in the world can remove those searing ugly, divisive, racist remarks from their memories.

I know such people. I live around such people. You may not. Believe it or not, they don’t go to blogger conventions. In fact most of them, when I mention a blog, have no idea what I am talking about. But, since I do know these people, I can guarantee you that they see through the excuses. They know the HATE behind those words. They will not forget.

And, Michelle Obama? Now all of her anger at America makes perfect sense. She has listened to Rev. Wright for years. She agrees with Rev. Wright. She shares his hostility and anger towards America. And, I tell you, is there any better writing on the ‘net than Truthteller’s expose’ of Michelle Obama below? Wow.

“Who are responsible?” ?

Comment by S.Markom | 2008-03-18 08:00:23

I was listening last night and an Obama supporter said that Jeremiah Wright was an Army veteran as if at would cancel out his hate-filled speeches. My answer to that is that Benedict Arnold was an Army officer.

I cannot imagine what Barack Obama is going to say in an hour that will put this behind him and justify his making Wright a campaign Advisor?

This is going to be a time when this party is going to have to examine its moral fabric in a painfully honest way. These super delegates will have to find the courage to do what is right for the party.

Comment by GodDamnAmerica | 2008-03-18 08:11:02

I guess all these Obama supporter will vote for John McCain then, because McCain-the-veteran can do no wrong.

Comment by sean | 2008-03-18 23:57:32

examine it’s moral fiber??? Oh like this country’s morals are whats at stake here? like we’re a beacon of hope and equality. I wouldn’t care if the kkk themselves endorsed Barak, i’d still vote for him, i’m not basing my vote on who the guy in the next booths voting for. I’m basing it on the most qualified, unlike the majority of those who voted a clown into office 4 and 8 years ago.

Hey SusanUnPC, not to be a troll or anything, but you leveled a hefty charge against the Obama campaign yesterday that turned out to be bogus. Even Williiam Kristol has recanted. When are you going to do the same?

Comment by SusanUnPC | 2008-03-18 08:43:21

I removed the link from my story, and said so. After all, it was only, at best, an ancillary element of my story — and, I had also linked to Mr. Obama’s denial. I further pointed out that the KEY question for Obama is this:

Why won’t you release your schedule that notes the dates when you attended church and heard the sermons of Rev. Jeremiah Wright?

FURTHER, there are numerous more questions that Mr. Obama must answer today.

I doubt he’ll answer a single one. Can you?

Comment by sean | 2008-03-18 23:59:21

You are pathetically petty.

We are the ones alright. We are the ones being hoodwinked, bamboozled, spun, lied to, conned, flimflammed and otherwise bullshitted.

Thanks to a cheer-leading media and a bunch of Obama supporting liberals with no integrity and no interest in fair play we will more than likely see an Obama vs McCain election.

Poor picked on little Obama will then find out what it’s like to have a “real” attack machine leveled at him and his puny little credentials. He will long for the good old days when that nasty mean Hillary was picking on him. And those of us that supported Hillary Clinton are then supposed to be outraged when he gets the same treatment we watched our candidate get from the media and many on the left. Please hold you breath until that happens.

And the rest of us, barring something untoward will see either A. a beleaguered Obama Administration that will be under siege 24/7 from many, of not most of his formerly adoring friends in the media. Republicans will obstruct as they always do and then point to an administration that can’t get anything done.

Or, B. Cindy and John McCain will take up residence in the White House and who knows what he will do.

If the press are on the ball they may pursue this topic:

In his books he mentions Rev Wright ____ and _____ and ____. On book takes its title from a Wright bon mot. How well known is Wright in the African American community? Is he a big deal on the evangelical circuit? Were the references to Wright a nudge and a wink to “black nationalists” without any explicit promises being made…hidden well enough that most white readers don’t pick up on the reference. Are the references to Wright a dog whistle to radical elements within the black community? How can Obama square funding Wright with the unity schtick?

How does he keep a straigh face as he panders to two crowds?

You guys are really sad. May God Bless your faded souls, for your guilt blinds your reason.

OMG! I was just commenting to my husband that Obama made the choice to run as a black man - even though half of his original family was white. He could have used this multi-racial argument very effectively from the start. BUT to bring it up now and get voters to dismiss the fact that he has capitalized on his AA heritage and ignored the other half just so they forget Rev. Wright is unbelievable.

It won’t work. Can he produce ANY video to support the fact that he has lived multi-racial?

I have said from the start that Barry and Michele planned his political career from the get-go. (they probaly used Bill and Hillary as their role models!) Their decisons on everything from the start was POSITIONING (THAT’S A MARKETING/ADVERTISINGT TERM, BTW) to bring them to his POTUS run. THEY MADE THOSE DECISIONS and one decision they made was to “play it black”.

It’s to late to re-define the past 15 years of their lives to try and convince us that they really aren’t “black enough”.

I call bullshit.

As a multi-racial person with a multi-racial family how could a person sit there and hear a paster talk down about one side of my family for 20 years and let my daughters hear this for several years and let this go one is beyond me. It speaks of a bigger problem. A lack of self-respect. A person who will do anything. This person has a problem.

Comment by Salo | 2008-03-18 09:21:16

Obama may also have thought that it was bullshit.

Comment by rwc | 2008-03-18 11:40:13

It points to a man who doesn’t see himself as multi-racial at all, otherwise he would be in a Afro-centric church where white people are portrayed as evil and racist by the pastor.

And how could he stand it, given that he was raised by white people? well a lot can be inferred and none of it says anything nice about Obama.

I suspect that the speech we’re going to hear is the one he intended to give at the Democratic Convention in order to ‘unite’ the party. He’s been forced to play his ‘Ace,’ earlier than he would have liked.

I hate to break it to you guys, but I don’t think that this will bring him down with regard to the nomination. Oh, he’s toast in Nov. unless McCain’s health flares up or his divorce papers get mysteriously unsealed, which given the history of the charmed political life Obama has lived, coupled with his cunning and shrewdness, could happen.

The kool-aid crew has replenished their IVs. So it’s incumbent upon us to keep hammering this guy’s kidneys. It’s back to basics: release his passport so we can know where he has traveled, expose his state senate record as a sham, how he is slowly edging away from his commitment to pulling the troops out (bring back the Samantha Powers comments about that), Canada/NAFTA, and put his qualifications side-by-side with all that Hillary has accomplished.

We also have to hit the DNC in droves and make them understand that he will NOT UNITE the party!!!

I hope I’m wrong, but I figure that after the speech, the plan is to hit Hillary with something to put this issue to rest as far as the Primary is concerned.

Of course, the Republicans only care about Nov. and they are digging for a video, if they don’t already have it, that places Obama at least one of those speeches. And they probably have something else up their sleeves.

This is an excellent video and hits the nail on the head. Obama is the liberal’s version of Bush. Obama is saying whatever is needed to get elected, just as Bush did. The media have purposely not informed the public about the real Obama, as they did with Bush. Look at the mess we are in now.

This is the year that a Democrat should have easily been elected to the White House but thanks to the missteps of the party’s leadership, the Republicans will maintain control. Great job Dean and Pelosi.

The MSM will air every second of Mr. Hope’s speech and they couldn’t give Hillary the time yesterday to cover her Iraq policy speech. I had to go to C-SPAN 2 to catch it all. Is there something wrong with this picture? I-Am-So-FREAKIN’-Sick-Of-MSHBN! They have set this speech up to be Mr.Hope’s “atonement” moment so they can all love him again. Now they will have an excuse to shower him with their adoration. Rachel Maddow, Tweety and KO will be weeping with joy today.:(

After this Racist Rev. Wright hit the news, Michelle Obama’s “attitude” made so much sense! NOW we know why this is the first time she’s ever been proud of her country. I also now know why many AAs HATE white people….all white people, no matter who they are. THIS is what they hear from their preachers. Hate. PURE hate.

This man cannot be the leader of this country. That’s all there is to it. Racism is racism. I REFUSE to vote for ANY racist…be they white racists who hate black people or BLACK racists who hate white people.

If this was Hillary’s minister preaching anti-black crap for 40 freakin’ years, Hillary would have been forced to drop out of the race already. I’m sick to death of these double standards.

I was watching CNN yesterday morning, with my back turned because I multi-task, and low and behold they broadcast Sen. Clinton’s speech, LIVE, for about 3/4’s of the speech. I switched to C-Span 2 for the rest. I was rather impressed that CNN did this. I don’t know if any other cable or network news station did this but CNN did.
I have no intention of watching Sen. Obama attempts at rectifying his membership in a church whose chief spiritual adviser hates America. I cannot believe that Sen. Obama was not aware of Mr. Wright’s hate speeches after he admitted that while he was a student he listened to Mr. Wright’s sermons on tapes from 1988 to 1991. (I will not give Mr. Wright the courtesy of the title “Reverend”, he does not deserve it.) The Media and the Republicans are and will have a field day with this. We will end up with McCain as president if Obama is the nominee.
