Hillary’s Campaign Comes Out Swinging
By Campskunk on March 22, 2008 at 11:22 AM in Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton
In Friday’s conference call, Phil Singer wasn’t shy about telling reporters how things are changing in the race. The email announcing the call, entitled “Obama Campaign: Just Words,” made the following arguments:
At this point, it’s no secret that the Obama campaign is in political hot water given the news stories of the last few weeks and is desperate to change the subject.
The ground is shifting away from them. And their response?
First, disenfranchise voters - Prevent new votes in Florida and Michigan . Stop voting in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Oregon West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Kentucky, South Dakota, Montana, West Virginia and Indiana.
Second, peddle photos of President Clinton shaking hands with Reverend Wright less than 48 hours after calling for a high-minded conversation on race. Well, President Clinton took tens of thousands of photos during his eight years as president. Stop the presses.
Third, accuse our campaign of having something to do with Senator Obama’s passport file being breached, a reckless charge that has zero merit.
Fourth, continue attacks on Senator Clinton’s character in an effort to implement what the Chicago Tribune called a full assault on her ethics.
Fifth, stonewall the press: no tax returns, no state records, no answers about the inconsistencies in the Rezko story.
Singer continues with a summary of the state of the race now - it’s all just words from Camp Obama.
So it’s not a pretty sight - it’s all part of a pattern of just words.
Senator Obama talks about voter participation while actively disenfranchising millions.
He calls for high minded debates while practicing lowdown politics.
He promises a different kind of campaign while attacking Hillary’s character.
He promises transparency while hiding basic info and stonewalling the press.
It’s no wonder that Americans are coming to see that for all of his lofty rhetoric, Senator Obama’s candidacy is really just words.
It’s no surprise that Americans are expressing serious doubts about his ability to answer the 3am call.
It’s no wonder that top journalists are calling the Obama campaign desperate, saying that it’s amateur hour in Chicago.

And like a good little republican, he accuses the Clinton campaign of doing the things (low politics, race baiting) that his campaign is doing.
Does everyone here know that, yesterday, there were recommended diaries at both Daily Kos and at MyDD that accused Hillary Clinton of not only getting into Obama’s passport file but also of the engineering a fake story that her own passport file had been pilfered?
That is how LOW the misnamed progressive left has gotten.
I think it’s a frenzy of talk to bully her out of the race, which won’t work. I think he’s afraid of the next two scheduled debates, where he’ll have to answer to these smears and defend himself as lofty and high minded in the face of his actions. I wish it were just words. Slander, smears and name-calling are acts. Promises are just words.
No….
This is the end of Left Blogistan 1.0. The ‘Big Man’ version which, it is quite obvious to all thinking beings, is now flailing around in it’s death throes.
Wave buh…bye Kos…Marshall…Bowers.
Wake up Jerome.
I ran across this statement on Cannonfire the other day and I believe it to be true.
“The ghastly erosion of PRINCIPLE and DECENCY on the left is no trivial story. Arguably, this development is more important than is the election itself.”
Bill Richardson and every other backstabber haven’t seen the end of it. It’s amazing to see all the miserable, little souls selling themselves cheap.
If the super delegates start making a move now and help this guy win before everyone has voted it would be a disaster.
I have no doubt that Hillary is going to be our nominee!!! The idea that the numbers don’t mach is just something that all of OB supporters are playing to get this over with, and the timing of it is very suspicious.
Well I don’t think so…his numbers are down, he’ll be going down even more in the coming weeks. I don’t think all of this press is helping him at all because he lost all credibility, he’s not really charming or particularly likable on TV, he stutters his way throw interviews and leaves an impression of someone that’s up to something no good. I know, I never liked him so it’s easy for me to see those things, however I never liked Huckabee either, but at list I enjoyed seeing him on TV.
Obama makes me turn the channel.
I can feel that there is more about Obama that is just about to come out and we need the time.
Hillary will win huge! Just wait till she starts wining, this party will really start in Pennsylvania!!!!
If I hear Jamal Simmons on CNN one more time defending Rev. Wright’s hate speech about the government infecting black with HIV by talking about the Tuskegee syphilis experimentation by saying “Bill Clinton apologized for that”, I’m going to scream.
Does the Obama camp really think we are so stupid that we wouldn’t see the psychology of associating Bill Clinton’s name with this shameful thing. Bill Clinton had nothing to do with that, but he apologized to AAs for the incident ever happening! What a bunch of jerks.
Guess they never heard the phrase “as you sow so shall ye reap”. It’been a week of reaping for them and there is more to come and they deserve every bit of it and more.
I missed him. O’Reilly has had on the head of the editorial board of the Kansas City Star, who thinks that nothing Wright said is wrong. It’s staggering… and he is the one who writes the lead editorials for that once-fine newspaper.
(I had a good friend who was a major crime reporter for the KC Star … he died on New Year’s Eve 1999 … he would be utterly appalled if he were still alive … he and I had such great times collaborating on his crime Web site.)
It is too bad Singer went easy on Obama on friday!
Not speaking on the speech of Monday and how it violated Obama’s prior message of “It isn’t a black America or a white America, la di da di da” until it became convenient to save Obama’s ass!
It is a shame Singer didn’t mention Obama’s big losses of those Republican and Independants that he stacked caucus’s with in recent polls who have abandoned him!
It is too bad Singer never exposed the “New Change” obama brings with him, is the Chicago style of Government now being exposed in a Chicago court room!
It is a shame Singer never went back to the 4 page memo from Obama’s campaign on Race in defiance of Obama’s speech monday!
It is a shame Singer never mentioned “The Illinois Combine,” the sort of style Obama keeps talking of now being explained in a Chicago court room that is the Illinois custom of quiet sharing of power across party lines for the benefit of a fat connected few?
It is a shame Singer never brough up in Obama’s speech that the only mention solely of women in it was when he threw his gandma under the bus, otherwise, he basically ignored women completely as victims of dicord in America!
It is a shame that Singer never asked for Obama to explain why he did not make an effort to appear at the Black congress in New Orleans or the Black ministers gathering in Atlanta earlier this year, yet a white women candidate did, when Obama tried to make it genuinely dire in his speech monday of the racial divide in America that needs to be talked about! Maybe had he appeared at the Ministers gathering in Atlanta, he could have spoken about his relationship with Rev Wright and all the good the man preaches week in and week out!
Thanks for bringing the New Orleans event up. Hillary showed and the audience was polite. Then she gave an incredible speech on how things need to be changed. Education, investments in inner city neighborhoods, she spoke of police and justice reform, and she showed she knows what the real problems are. There is a lot to be done, and it was embarrassing that Obama had a scheduling conflict, and he needed to be excused. Somehow Obama is always in need of some excuse.
Yes, and while “polite” is accurate to describe their initial response to her, it seemed to me that by the end of her speech, they had somewhat warmed back up to her, possibly remembering her real record on issues of concern to the AA community and realizing that she would take action to address those issues, not just make pretty speeches and then call it a day.
We have posted some stories here about her New Orleans speech — and how Barack Obama shined on that national black convention. And Truthteller posted a fantastic story here just a few nights ago on Hillary’s remarkable speech. SEE ALL HERE.
It’s time for Obama to drop out of the race. If he thinks he’s going to live down the bad press from the Wright videos, he is sorely mistaken. Middle America will not forget and they will surely not forgive.
He’s damaging the Democratic Party with his reputation now, and no matter what HRC does, Obama’s petty attacks and bogus reporting, a la his passport, designed to turn attention away from what we now know about his affiliations with the unsavory likes of Rezko and Wright, are simply causing more division.
We should get the word out that on behalf of the party (and the country) Obama should drop out.
As to Richardson’s endorsement, read this by Clemons, written in January. Richardson is a liability.
http://tinyurl.com/25nt2j
Mary Jo Kopechne:
That’s quite an article by Steve Clemons; I didn’t know this about Richardson…wow.
Thanks for bringing it up.
I read today at Taylor Marsh that Obama’s co-chair of his campaign, General McPeak, has started comparing Bill Clinton to Joseph McCarthy. The reason is apparently because Bill CLinto said he wished the campaign could just be between two poeple who love their country debating their policies, and all of this other stuff that always gets pulled into campaigns could just stop.
Somehow wishing for a civilized debate makes him a commie hunter. This is how low Obama can sink. This is how bad he has become. Shame on him.
Maybe, they think he is attacking him when he asked for decency because they are incapable of it.
This is the strategy Obama has used from the beginning. cull all words to find something you can say is a smear and then get outraged. It looks stupid because he isn’t being smeared, he’s being asked to stick to the issues. Manufactured outrage is the stable of his hope message?
Excellent summation, anna shane.
Manufactured outrage is the stable of his hope message?
It isn’t even maunfactured at Whirlpool, were they produce things are meant to spin.
There’s a DEVASTATING YouTube vid linked y some at Marsh’s site. The Weather Underground and Barack Obama. It includes Bill Ayers bragging about bombing the Pentagon and disrupting the air war for days, and then talks about John Mccain being shot down.
Look for that a lot this fall if Obama is the nominee.
Because there are so many real Commies in Obama’s past (just your typical ’60s SDS-lefty like me), this stuff amkes Axelrod real nervous. They must know they can’t win.

I just saw a clip of McPeak doing this on Fox. Obama was standing at McPeak’s side with his arms crossed and his brow furrowed, like he was about to cry.
I did a rather benign piece on Tony McPeak at myDD not too long ago. Maybe I should update it a bit..he
seemsto carrycarries a grudge against the Clintons. And he wasn’t around when “Tail Gunner” Joe McCarthy was.http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/2/2/181831/2989
Story behind the story: The Clinton myth
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0308/9149.html
Bill Keyes:
SurveyUSA March 20 2008: Great Polls for Clinton:
Matchups between Clinton-McCain and Obama-McCain in
Missouri (they pick the presidential winner)
McCain 53 , Obama 39 Und. 9 McCain +14
McCain 48, Clinton 46 Und. 6 McCain +2
Obama is not even in the ballpark of the satistical error!!
Massachusetts (Dem. stronghold)
McCain 47 Obama 47 Und. 6 TIE OMG Obama will be the first to lose MA…
McCain 42 Clinton 55 Un. 3 Clinton +13
Obama is unelectable Obama’s numbers against McCain will go nowhere from here but downwards
What time is it ? It is time for Obama to drop
Great post Andy.
Oh I have absolutely no doubt that Obama cannot beat McCain, but Hillary cant either.
But the main reason McCain will win is that by the time the Democrats get done pulverizing each other up to the last vote at the convention in order to win I believe their would have to be some kind of unification process where the loser backed the winner. Why? Because I really find it hard to believe that the Democrats can win if they dont at least all get behind whoever is the eventual nominee.
So I would ask all of you Hillary devotees will you back Obama if he is the nominee?
You dont have to answer I all ready know what the answer is.
Will the Obamabots as you so fondly call them back Hillary if she is the nominee?
Same answer, I already know what I and most supporters of Obama will do.
So the outcome of the election in November is clear as I have said for months….McCain wins
and the Democrats lose and then for God knows how many months this blog and most others will spend more countless wasted hours not trying to figure out what when wrong but doing a perpetual blame game.
Oh and BTW lets not forget about Congress, that august useless body of ppl we helped the Democratic party get control of two years ago. Even if they retain control of both houses (not likely) if they have not done squat by now against Bush what makes you believe they would do battle with McCain?
They may retain control of the House, but McCain’s coattails will give the Repugs control of the Senate which will guarantee a continuation of the Bush regime…same ol shit different boss.
Get ready for it folks this is what is going down however you still have seven months of sticking your heads in the sand and believing your “girl” will be the next POTUS.
AINT GONNA HAPPEN, PERIOD.
ooh, I am scared of “girls.” I’m scared enough of girls, but “girls”? Terrifying.
Vandehei? He just said this on NPR not that long ago..
Whoever wins Ohio basically wins the presidency,” VandeHei says. “That goes back 40 years.”
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=87851193
He sure got it wrong on Huckabee, too.
Neither candidate can win with delegates, there is no myth there. It’s a simple fact.
The only myth is Vandenhei is a serious reporter. That’s a simple fact.
This one’s a goodie
http://mediamatters.org/items/200704280002
Obama aka Obamboozler is gaming the media and the populace for his own political agendas. Obama is playing the victim’s card by blaming Hillary et al for all the negative attacks against him. Obama is no Saint, he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. By the way, that speech he gave on race did not impress me on bit, so I don’t know why the media is going gah gah over it. Talk about conscience eating away at the core. As the saying goes, “a guilty conscience needs no accuser.”
has anyone else reported about this?(I just found it)
Exclusive: Obama Connection to Terrorists Revealed by Talk Show Host
http://www.commonvoice.com/article.asp?colid=8310
I wonder what the real story is on Rezko, so much seems to be missing about his life in Syria, and his current business dealings, there.
Think that will come out?
It will.
Dawnelle:
That is a devastating story indeed; we have been discussing these issues here (simon is an expert)
but seems some in the media are finally starting to
be aware or have the courage to bring it up.
We have to see whether the media at large asks the hard questions vis a vis this issue…
Thanks for pointing out that today’s article.
I hadn’t seen it.
No, but thank you.
I’m aghast the democrats and the press would push such an inferior, corrupt man for President.
Since the press gave us Bush, I too am aghast, but not surprised, they would try to push Obama on us. But that the people running the Democratic Party would join in simply infuriates me.
You just found that? that was alredy circulated by other right wing blogs and freepers. (No wonder you wanted to post it here)
1. Ayers was member of the Weathermen group before Obama was born When Obama met him he was a respected professor who participated in community affairs.
2. Rashid Khalidi: Have you read his book? I have. Yes, he is on the $hit list of people like Dershowitz, because he is Palestinian. Yes, he wrote a book, actually chastising Palestinians for failing to produce themselves a State, for lack of organization, lack of leadership, lack of support from other ARab nations.
He is also a respected member of academia.
You should try to force yourself and examine the information, its source, its validity before you pass it on, to further you advocacy against a Democratic candidate.
Please don’t get me start posting REALLY nasty connections of the Clintons and their fundraising.
Oh, that makes it all better. No one who is in “academia” has shit that stinks.
Do you not understand that subtle nuances don’t exist in politics? Do you not realize what is going to happen your Pony of Hope come this fall? Do you not realize that Hillary has been very easy on Obama, while he has unleashed ever possible attack on her?
And finally, do you not understand that a “liberal elite” Democrat has not won national office since 1960? And that the reasons for that haven’t changed?
He is a hateful, shallow, unsophisticated, Palestinian kook.
Period.
How kooky is he?
Even Princeton turned him down, and Princeton is not known for discriminating taste in kooks.
After the University of Chicago, it would appear Columbia is the last refuge of the throw away radical.
What is it about our Ivy Leagues and kooks?
And the Clintons?
Show your evidence, back it up.
Hit a nerve, eh?
Another point about Khalidi is his connection to Palestine.
Is he dealing with Hamas?
And how does this play into the Rev Wright’s favoritism?
And no, I think it has very little do with ideology, it’s about the cash.
“Ayers was member of the Weathermen group before Obama was born When Obama met him he was a respected professor who participated in community affairs.”
Oh, well, in that case.
Picture the reaction if the Clintons were friends with a domestic terrorist.
Well, that’s the same reaction Obama’s going to get.
Not rocket science.
I think Obama and his minions screwed the pooch by calling the Clintons racists. Seriously, if they’re racists, what does that make me? I was shocked to be told by Obamatrons that I hate black people.(Uh…saywha’?) Nevermind that I’ve been a card carrying member of the ACLU, since before I could vote. And I’m guessing there are a lot more of us out there. Obama has managed to alienate a whole hell of a lot of people. I wasn’t even a Hillary supporter when they lost my vote. Being called a Hillbot shook me up. All I asked was NO DEM ON DEM VIOLENCE over at KOS. That’s when I started looking at Hillary. Then the more I researched her the more I was impressed. Good job Obamatrons!
That’s right. The Obamabots drove a lot a people to Hillary and certainly AWAY from their candidate. But they don’t get that. Which is the problem.
I agree mimi,
They are so obsessed with their candidate that they can’t see that other people have a right to support their own candidate. Then once the name calling and insults start they don’t seem to understand that they are driving people “away” from them and their candidate.
I would never vote or not vote because of what a few anonymous pinheads on some blogs said. I would re-think my vote based on a culture of intolerance by “their” candidate and his supporters.
I don’t like Obama. I have found him a light-weight phony from the gitgo. I don’t care about his race anymore than I care about Hillary’s gender. I do care when some empty-headed twit has the audacity to call me a racist just because I didn’t like Obama from the beginning and now loathe him because of all of his attacks on the Clintons. I voted for Bill Clinton twice and they were two of the few votes I’ve ever been able to cast without holding my nose.
And now, unlike in the past, if Obama is the candidate, I will NOT vote for him. I’ll write in Hillary and vote for those down ticket Democrats that I think are worthy of my vote.
Maybe someday all the little Obamatrons will realize that insulting and marginalizing voters they just might need in the GE was stupid. Nah, that won’t happen. That would take a degree of honesty and introspection I don’t believe they have. And anyway, it will all be the Clinton’s fault anyway.
KenoshaMarge, that’s rich. In the same post where you claim Obama supporters are driving Hillary supporters away by insulting them, you go on to insult Obama supporters as “Obamatrons”. Hypocrisy much? By your very own logic you’re driving voters away from Hillary.
I know I’ll vote for whomever the Democrats nominate, whether it’s Obama or Clinton. I prefer Obama, but I’m not emotionally unhinged like so many of the people here (or on DKos) that I can’t recognize how much better off the country would be with either Democrat as president.
Josh Marshall wrote a great post on the topic today. He concludes:
I know you didn’t threaten to vote McCain or Nader (as some commenters here have), but failing to vote for the eventual Democratic nominee is effectively the same thing as voting for McCain. Is that really what you want?
Obama stated that he doesn’t know if HIS voters will cross over to vote for Clinton. His wife said she didn’t know if she could vote for Clinton.
You ask “but failing to vote for the eventual Democratic nominee is effectively the same thing as voting for McCain. Is that really what you want?”
Sounds like it’s EXACTLY what the Obama’s want. So much for unity, eh?
I have little doubt that the Obamas will get behind and fully campaign for Hillary if she is the nominee. Just as I have little doubt that Hillary will get behind Obama and campaign for him if he is the nominee.
What I have more doubts about are some of the Obama and Clinton supporters I see here and elsewhere who are so wrapped up in their candidates that they lose the big picture. This election is more important than either candidate, and we can’t afford the luxury of tearing down whoever our nominee ends up being when the alternative is more of the status quo.
The Clinton campaign did not even mention the Obama campaign advisor who likened Bill Clinton with Joe McCarthy. Of course that news did not break until late last night.
I have been offended and angered by many of the Obama campaign words and tactics. But that was the lowest blow of all, and finally for me, is the last straw.
To date I have said that I would vote Democratic in Nov. I hate to say this, but if the nominee is Obama, I will not. The man does not deserve votes for this extremely divisive campaign he has waged. He reminds me more and more of Bush, Cheney, and Rove.
This breaks my heart. These same pople who a couple of years ago were bemoaning the fact that Bill Clinton was term limited. They all loved him. ow, they stab him in the back. Calling Bill Clinton these vile things.
I am so sad. I have been a Democrat for 35 years, but I will not vote for Obama. No matter what. I am so angry at these asshole for taking my party and turning it into something I no longer recognise. Clinton did not do this. Obama is doing it.
Just imagine seeing this come fall.
Imagine you’re a moderate to conservative Democrat not sure about Obama, but not comfortable voting Republican.
Imagine you’re a very conservative Republican who is not convinced McCain is conservative enough.

Read what Bill Clinton actually said.
Another reason why I hate the liars in the Obama campaign.
With Obama, it’s ALL about him, all the time.

You are welcome Andy
and Thank YOU for being a part of this great “enlightened” community of bloggers.
If there were no places like this - I think many of us would MOVE quickly NORTH. Or something less drastic perhaps like have a heart attack! j/k
I used to wish I was NOT disabled. But I’m now rethinking that wish. I would be sooooo in the dark otherwise.
Dawnelle…The NORTH wouldn’t have you, Hon’
because?????????????
I like Hillary?
And by NORTH I mean Canada
it was a joke
r u being racist?
Maple Leaf IS the symbol for Canada.
And they are more inclusive, actively welcoming people from all parts of the world. So they would be put off by some of the race and hate mongering that is displayed in the mentality of the people on this blog. I know I am…
Baloney; they are quite anti-immigrant; ask latinos for example.
Maple Leaf, are you a US citizen?
Holy Crap. The CEO of the company in charge of passport security is an Obama adviser. Oh Susan, where art thou? This is going to be sooooooo interesting how Obamatrons SPIN THIS ONE!
The guy’s name is John Brennen.
Yep. From CNN:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/22/passport.files/index.html
Oops.
Where is your apology Keith Olberman and MSNBC for saying the Clintons were involved with breaching Obama’s passport privacy??
Oh I know..lying for Obama means never having to say you are sorry for your filthy, disgraceful lies!
I bet those falling ratings are just making the big boys happy in the 30 Rock MSNBC offices.
Oh and when i sent a correction to Jack Cafferty this week about what really happened in Fla..he sent me a note back immediately..he wrote..
i quote JACK CAFFERTY EMAIL BACK TO ME: “YAWN”
that is what these so called journalists think about reporting the truth to you..

I got a similar response from the Ed Schultz camp a few months back when I was defending Hillary.

LARRY INSERTED AN UPDATE HERE:

MORE FILTH from pro-Obama people, via an e-mail I got from someone reliable but who shall remain anonymous:
I listen to Nova M Radio, a liberal radio station out of Arizona. I
also get their podcasts. They have Randi Rhodes, (pro-Obama) Mike
Malloy (less biased than most) and Jeff Farias (used to like him but
now he’s totally anti-Hillary.)
If anyone has the time, please write Jeff Farias here
jfarias@novamradio.com
And tell him that his shows are veering into the extreme with all the
Hillary bashing and using wild conspiracy theories to do it!
His latest wild story is that Hillary is a member of an extremist
political front group known as The Family or The Fellowship and they
want to take over the world by ending wars with diplomacy! I’m not
kidding, this is supposedly a bad thing. Imagine taking over the
world and ending wars with diplomacy.
He bashes Hillary on her religious practices regularly — in fact
every day this week.
I suppose this is in response to Obama and his bigoted pastor. I
have written him 3 times this week and he keeps directing me to ready
these crazy conspiratorial articles about Hillary and her prayer
services. Please someone help me combat this, this guy is on the
airwaves every day spouting this stuff. He has a daily 3 hour show.
His callers lately are all anti-Hillary, and this guy is a supposed
Democrat. It makes me sick.
He sent me an email this morning telling me to read this garbage
about this political group he says is disguised as a prayer group.
It’s from Wayne Madsen, who is not a reputable journalist at all.
Here is the article: http://www.insider-magazine.com/ChristianMafia.htm
Farias is talking about this every day!
Susan,
Why do you think that all liberal/progressive radio shows are NOT supporting Clinton (I haven’t heard them so I can’t say if they are anti Hillary)
Why? What does it signify?
Your thoughts, please…
Soros, and Geffen, and the others with cash, that’s what it signifies.
Obama is still a criminal, part of the combine.
If it’s not Obama, then McCain will do, same as in Illinois.
Clinton is the only they can’t depend upon to cheat, and steal.
Per the Rezko trial, yesterday, Rezko and Levine put 150,000,000 of the teachers pension fund in with Carlyle.
WHAT a small world.
The rumor has been that Geffen has decided to make destruction of the Clinton’s a life’s work when Bill Clinton didn’t pardon Leonard Peltier. I do not know if that is true, but as a gay American, Geffen should be ashamed of his support of Obama. This is the same guy who brings Donnie McClurkin out on the stump with him!!
By hook or by crook!!
Lynn Samuels hates Obama…of Talk Left. She nailed him from the gitgo. She has no time for his whining and race baiting and a few other things. And she is very liberal.
Bill Press is for Hillary
Alex Bennett…not for Obama…more for Hillary
Just some that I have listened to on Sirius
If it comes down to a choice between Hillary’s Pastor or Church and Obama’s?
It’s a no brainer.
Simon, and PMS
Not surprisingly, you have responded to the questions of you have read Prof. Rashid Khalidi’s book. Clearly, you just continue your usual hate filled frothing, without knowing anything about the person.
So, Prof. Khalidi is just a Palestinian kook?
Talk about stupid stereotyping…
Some of you really sound like you are off your medication…
Sajo, calm down, we need to agree to disagree, and certainly we’re both mature enough to respect each other’s opinions.
As much as I despise IDF tactics that target innocents, I despise Palestinian, or other, Ivy League kooks who advocate the murder of innocents.
Why would I even listen to someone who is nuts, someone I don’t respect as an intellectual equal?
There are numerous reasons Khalidi is skewed in the head, most of them having to to with denial. All aggression, terrorism is based on denial, and passive aggressive behavior. Some fight like men, terrorists fight like MEOW, kittys.
Period.
I’m not looking for guru, I know how to think, I don’t need a cult, I don’t need to feel dangerously outrageous, or rebellious, to be noticed. I don’t need to be noticed, I guess others need that validation, one way or another. Like Lenny and Squiggy.
You know?
I wasn’t brought up that way.
The minute they advocate or participate in the murder of civilians, they’re nuts. The minute they advocate conquer and divide, they’re not players, or they’d know why, in the long run, it fails.
Period.
Sometimes I get the impression that those who venerate men like Ayers do so because they need to feel the anti hero , the rebel.
Except they come off like Lenny and Squiggy, from Laverne and Shirley, trying to imitate Marlon Brando in “The Wild Ones.”
It just doesn’t quite cut it, and the implications are real.
I think if Obama were awake, he wouldn’t get near a man like Khalidi, due to the violence.
Innocent people die.
It is not cool.
Obama looks like a clueless dork.
Second attempt at posting:
Susan, didn’t you see the article posted here by Barbara Ehreinreich, describing the religious right prayer group Hillary belonged to with people like Rick Santorum, Tom Delay, and so on?
It described that Hillary sponsored a bill with Rich Santorum that would allow a pharmacist to refuse to fill out birthcontrol prescriptions and healthcare workers to refuse treating gays, police men refuse to protect Planned parenthood buildings…
It really turned off my feminist friends and relatives.
Can you back it up with a link?
Otherwise you appear troll like.
Stupid troll like.
I think Maple Leaf is referring to this article:
I don’t know any more than what I’ve read in that article. Clinton is reputed to have strong religious views, but that’s not proof. The article is short on direct quotes or attributions. Perhaps Andy can point to the rebuttal, since I don’t know who the “we” is he’s referring to?
I don’t make up stories as others like to do on this blog. I have read the article and interviewed the author.
Also: Have you heard of Google? You could have found the link and reference.
I guess researching and reading are too taxing for you.
http://www.motherjones.com/cgi-bin/print_article.pl?url=http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2007/09/hillarys-prayer.html

Indeed I have heard of Google. In fact, that’s how I found the article I linked. It certainly wasn’t because you’d left a link.
Before you go questioning other people’s motivation, why not consider the fact that you’d heard of this article, read it in the last few days, and not bothered to find it?
As for what that paragraph says, it tells me that there were concerns about the bill, and Clinton either didn’t share them or didn’t care about them. Which one is it?
Cujo, for cryin’ out. My note about google was to Simon, who wanted ‘proof’ of the quote regarding Hillary sponsoring an anti choice, anti women’s freedom of reproductive rights bill.
The link is there, read the whole article.
As for Clinton, the paragraph is clear, she sponsored the bill with the most notorious anti-choice right winger, Rich Santorum, who lost his re-election. The bill didn’t pass because of Republicans like Specter opposed it.
That is why a lot of feminists are turned off by her
OK, I read the article. (Mother Jones? come on). It was opinions about opinions of truncated opinions of others opinions. I trudged through the dreary text and could not find the legislation. I would appreciate a link to the actual legislation and the pro/con write-ups. Yes, I can look up the info on congress.org and find the position papers if you provide the bill no. A date would be nice too.
I hope you aren’t trying to discredit Clinton for some legislation while disregarding Obama’s. It is always effective to note legislation that Obama has backed to compare. People might be more prone to read your links and trudge through the article no matter how trite and drivel laden it may be.
Well the MJ article was idiotic, but at least MJ, unlike Ehrenreich, refrained from truly stupid cracks about her hair (hey she’s changed it, so she’s searching for identity).
Since you claim to have interviewed the author of this SENSATIONALIZED article, did you bother to ask who the only UNNAMED SOURCE was that she used?
Nevermind.
