It's hard to believe his grandfather would have been angry with the grandmother over her fears to that degree. And creepy. And if the story is a convenient fiction for the purposes of the speech, doubly creepy. Convenient that they are not here to defend themselves. And all of that is a side issue to the "typical white person" statement. Funny he can make broad claims about the typical white person, but anyone who's offended by Wright's talk is a racist. . . can't have it both ways. And really strange coming from the unity guy. And the claim that while going to the guy's church for all those years, he really didn't know what he was saying? Please! That isn't something people would have missed the chance to point out to him. When a "church" south of here started sending out racist garbage in the mail, everyone in town knew where it came from, tried to get them to stop, some sent bible tracts back to them with stiff lessons on how wrong they were--and this is one of the whitest states in the Union. People know what pastors are saying. I also find it creepy that Obama seems more willing to protect Wright than his grandmother. I'd feel kinder toward a person who did not appear to be ready to do ANYTHING for political gain. It sounds fake. If they were so hell bent on doing that, all they'd have to do is step back and say "we're going to let the obama delegates decide". Split the dnc delegates down the middle so that nobody benefits. But they aren't doing that. Could it be that maybe, just maybe, not everyone in the party hates Hillary Clinton? You want to make it seem like she's so hated that she's doomed. Well I've got news for you - she's my senator, and if i have anything to do with it she'll be my president too, but if not she'll stay my senator. The Democrats aren't going to kick her out.
