Ouch! Those Are Hard Facts!
By SusanUnPC on March 22, 2008 at 3:12 PM in Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton
“It’s no secret that the Obama campaign is in political hot water.” — Phil Singer, Clinton spokesman.
Here are just a few of the stories pointing to the downfall of the Obama campaign:
- “Obama struggles to limit damage in pastor row as white voters slip away,” The Guardian (UK), March 22, 2008
- “Latest Poll for Pennsylvania (Democratic Voters): Guardian UK,” March 22, 2008: Clinton 56%, Obama 30%, Undecided 14%
- “Presidential Daily Tracking Poll,” Rasmussen Reports, March 22, 2008: “On Saturday, Obama’s favorable ratings slipped a little further—46% favorable, 51% unfavorable. Before the Pastor Problem became big news [See NoQuarter's stories on Rev. Jeremiah Wright here], Obama was viewed favorably by 52%. One month ago, he was viewed favorably by 56%.”
Here’s more from The Guardian’s story today, including the classic comments of one Joey Vento in Philly:
I can only imagine how much fun the Guardian reporter had in interviewing Joey:
Listen for a few minutes to Joey Vento, owner of a south Philadelphia institution that serves gut-busting sandwiches through a takeaway hatch, and the scale of Barack Obama’s problems become apparent. Obama is having the worst week of his campaign. It is, some believe, a week that threatens his chances of becoming president.
“That minister, that was terrible, all his sayings. He’s preaching hatred,” Vento said. “The thing I didn’t like about Obama; you’re telling me for 20 years you been going to that church and you never heard that?”
Vento, 68, was speaking about Obama’s former pastor and spiritual adviser, Jeremiah Wright, whose sermons have been aired repeatedly on US television denouncing the US as racist.
The clips have alienated the white voters, such as Vento, that Obama needs in his next contest with Hillary Clinton, to be held in Philadephia and the other towns and cities of Pennsylvania on April 22. But it goes further than that. The danger for Obama is not just that he could lose badly in Pennsylvania but that senior Democrats will wonder whether the loss of white votes could cost him the November general election.
The latest poll in Pennsylvania by Public Policy Polling puts Clinton on 56% and Obama on 30%. The same polling organisation showed her having overtaken Obama in North Carolina, which is also still to hold its primary: she has 43% to his 42%.
Phil Singer, spokesman for Clinton, told reporters: “It’s no secret that the Obama campaign is in political hot water.” …
[...]
[T]he sight of Wright calling on his congregation to sing God Damn America instead of God Bless America is not one from which Americans are going to be diverted easily. A theme that emerges from the bars and diners of white Philadelphia is suspicion that Obama’s failure to disown Wright and his presence in his church for almost two decade suggests that he himself is secretly resentful towards white people. A stray comment during an interview may have helped contribute to that suspicion when he referred to his grandmother, who had voiced her concern about being mugged by a black person, as a “typical white person”.
In Chickie’s and Pete’s restaurant and sports bar in Philadelphia, John Fernandez, a chiropractor, said Obama must have known what Wright was preaching. “How can you be that tight and not know or share some of those opinions? I was leaning toward him a little bit, but that took it over the edge,” Fernandez said, hollering to be heard over the din of the bar and televised basketball game. “You got to go to another church, or you share those opinions.”
He described Obama’s Tuesday speech as “great damage control” and “a beautiful rebuttal”, but he was not won over. Fernandez said he wondered whether Obama shared the opinions Wright expressed. …

Here are EARLIER STORIES HERE on the big shift and the frightening prospects for a general election:

- “A loss of cataclysmic and historical proportions is afoot!” [Update]
- Obama Knows He Has an Electability Problem [UPDATE! x2]
If you haven’t read them, all the stories are important. But perhaps the most frightening is this story that shows how Obama cannot even guarantee a victory in Massachusetts, the one state that even George McGovern carried in 1972.

[...] NO QUARTER added an interesting post today on Ouch! Those Are Hard Facts! [...]
I think if people are still talking about Wright in 2 weeks you can put a fork in Obama.
NEWS FLASH!! Polls are meaningless—it’s the actual VOTES that matter and Obama is leading in actual vote count. Any way you spin the numbers, Billary will not win the nomination.
What exactly are you Billary supporters looking for in the numbers anyway? No way, no how, not gonna happen. Take it in the pants and move along. But hey, there’s always 2012. Ha!
OBAMA08
Any pinhead who has to resort to using the “Billary” insult isn’t a progressive, isn’t an adult and isn’t very bright. IF Obama does get the nomination, and that is not certain, he will need the votes of all “us” low-information, old white women to beat McCain. And having his supporters and surrogates insult the former DEMOCRATIC President of the United States is not gonna garner much interest in us supporting your candidate.
Most of us voted for Bill Clinton twice. Twice you pinhead because he’s the only Democrat in the last 40 years to sit in the White House for 2 terms. And your dimwitted, sleazy candidate spends most of his time attacking Bill and Hillary Clinton instead of telling us exactly what it is he’s going to do for us. Or he might try taking on John McCain. If he’s got the nomination locked up then why keep swinging at the Clintons. Seems like acts of desperation not of someone sure they’ve won. Maybe he spiked the ball too soon?
We don’t much like him anyway and insults only harden a resolve NOT to support him in the GE.
So go to bed junior, you may think you’re clever but you just did more damage to your candidate amongst people that don’t like him anyway. Some of whom may just hold their nose and vote for him anyway. And many of us won’t.
News Flash to you, Jr. [h/t to KenoshaMarge]:
It’s the actual VOTES that matter in the general election too. Barack Obama won’t get enough of them to win.
[...] NO QUARTER put an intriguing blog post on Ouch! Those Are Hard Facts! [...]
Americans, it is wake up time, not only for the DNC but everyone to realize something they are neglecting!
The world is also watching, it is trying to understand how organizations like CNN and other news medias are supporting and admiring a candidate for President of the United States who has a 20 year relationship with a Spiritual Advisor who preaches hatred and bile messages against his own country! A candidate who shows more respect for said preacher in a speech than his own grandmother! A candidate who has repeatedly lied to the voters not only about his relationship with his Spiritual Advisor, but over NAFTA and his other elationships! A candidate who claims to have pressed the wrong button 5 times, and could have his finger on the button of a massive nuclear arsenal! A candidate who will talk of Uniting and yet divides continually!
Yes the world is watching and the world decides America’s fate as well, the world has abandoned America in its stuggles due to Bush, you not think it will hesiate or retract further with such a person in the White House?
And people wonder why the US is having the difficult times it is having in the world right now! Especially after this candidate has lied at first over talking to a foreign Government about a trade deal, then when caught cold handedly, lays claims the foreign Government misunderstood the discussion, who wants to deal with someone like that?
America has alianated itself for 5 years in the world community, does America think the world leaders want to forge ahead with a possible leader who has the kind of background that is being exposed that Obama has?
So is most of America.
The sad fact is that the Wright thing is not the real problem. The fact of the matter is that Obama is unqualified. He is getting a pass on the Hope and Get Along message. No demands for substance in terms of experience. That was George Bushes main problem. No ability to discern the issues from competing factions giving him advice. Obama will be another George Bush from the left.
What is more disconcerting is the Democratic Party leadership like Pelosi is not able to see this. They are banking on the fact that McCain is also incompetent.
So - our Democratic Election process goes for the lowest bar of qualifications like we did for Bush II twice. I suspect there will be a lot of stay at home people this election which will affect the lower races.
Don’t forget the “Bill Clinton is like McCarthy” smear floated today by the Obama campaign.
So bill clinton is “Joe McCarthy”, hillary clinton is a “monster” — his grandmother is a racist loser, but his racist pastor is a winner — Barry is NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME.
The dishonesty here at No Quarter is really starting to bother me. First we have Shelby Steele presented as a Stanford academic rather than as the right-wing looney that he is; now we have Joey Vento put out there as the humble seller of cheesesteaks. Susan, you must know what the whole story of this guy is. You want to make him The Everyman Whiteguy Small Business Ethnic blah-blah….here in Philly it’s well known that he’s a racist asshole. I can’t stomach Obama, but frankly I’m starting to wonder exactly where you and Larry are coming from.
Direct your complaint to The Guardian. There is no reason on earth I should know who Joey is, particularly since I live 3000 miles away.
Steele: Think of him what you will, but his remarks made great sense when applied to Obama. I NEVER ask people to endorse the entire history of people I quote / just that they consider the person’s remarks and think about them.
Like Doris Lessing, I find that when ideology is all that’s considered — e.g., Steele is a ‘winger loon therefore we must ignore all he says — that all common sense goes out the window.
Thankfully, I participated in high school debate for three years. Such rigorous preparation taught me that there are arguments on all sides of every issue, and that no one ideological view is always correct.
That’s been a breath of fresh air in my life — it opens me up to listening to ALL kinds of people. It’s not only informative, it’s a lot of fun.
So what is it about the posts that you find Untruthful? Please explain your actual objections to the POSTS, instead of attacking the messenger.
Typical - question the bringer of the information, not the information itself.
Joey may be an extreme example, but there have been many other news reports in both PA, NC and IN that reflect the perception of average American white voters. Polls back this up–Obama is losing the critical white, Independent, and Republican voters that gave him the extra margin he needs. Without the Dem base, which belongs consistently to Clinton, he cannot win. And I agree with Susan about Steele. I saw him interviewed on Bill Moyers in January, and there is a lot of truth to what he says about Obama’s appeal. By casting himself as a “blank slate” without any particular strong identification, a larger group of people can project their fantasies on to him. If he reveals himself as a particular individual, he will lose some of those people. He has gotten away with this due to the complicity of the media, but it was inevitable that the illusion was shattered. It could not be sustained indefinitely.
LA & Susan
LA, all you have to know that ANYONE who can find something deragatory on Obama, true or not, will be happy to post it here. It could come from Fox, Drudge, Limbaugh, and all the right wing nuts like Shelby Steele, it will end up here.
Steele is indeed an unfortunate choice, he has long been discredited for cathegorizing all blacks into two groups: All the succesful ones are “Bargainers”, such as Oprah, Bill Cosby, Sidney Poitier, Tiger Woods, Obama…or they are “Challengers” like Jessie Jackson,or Sharpton.
The problem on this blog is that the posters are really not familiar with the background source of the material, or the credibility of it.
And anyone willing to post anything derogatory about Hillary, true or not, can find an eager audience at DailyKos, MoveOn, HuffPo, etc. And anyone willing to smear Clinton in any way can get right through to any of the hosts over at Air America.
The only difference is, the posts here about Obama are fact-based. And criticizing Obama won’t get you flamed, banned, or smeared by mindless drones who won’t admit there is no Santa Claus.
If there’s stuff here about Obama that is Untrue, please, enlighten us. Don’t tell us the messenger is flawed, tell us what is Untrue about the Message. Don’t drop condescension like “the posters are not really familiar with the background source of this material.” Tell us why the material is wrong.
Actually, I, a liberal all my life, was completely
blown away by Steel in his interview with Bill Moyers. He does indeed categorize black’s choice of ways to interact with Whites as two categories…the Bargainer or the Challenger.
BUT…if you continue to listen, he says there is a third way and that is to treat the other as the individual that he is…without the masks. Stunning when you think of it.
He said he got tired of the mask and its burden in living an authentic life. Indeed, he has stepped from the role that is assigned by liberal…yes…as Doris Lessing would say…Dogma.
I personally found him to be a thoughtful and courageous individual…and he has paid the price
for his choice within his own community.
Yes. He called the Jesse Jackson/Al Sharpton/Rev Wright community “totalitarian,” as if anyone who didn’t play by their rules was shunned and not included.
I believe him.
The Black superdelegates who have been threatened with challengers in the next election are getting the exact same treatment Steele got. Except that Steele chose to be his own man and not play to the victim hustle.
Barak Obama never had that much courage. He needed that community for his political career.
Steele was very very impressive. He didn’t need to trash his white mother or grandmother.
How is that not full disclosure?
He is “typical” eh? oh thats right, he has opinions and is permitted to voice them cause this is America and he was asked…
Lest we stereotype a guy who has made a cheesesteak for millions….you can find him on food network…
No Cheesesteak! evil Cheesesteak!
I have been reading this general theme all week, but what about the new CBS poll that says a very high percentage of people responded well to his speech and 70+ felt it answered their questions about Wright? Where are they getting those numbers, because every other source seems to confirm that no one’s buying his rationalizations and justifications. BO himself said, “People have short memories.” God, I hope not.

Perhaps the problem is that its people like Shelby, Sean Hannity, Michael Regean, Charles Krauthammer, Karl Rove, Neut Gingrich, Ken Blackwell and even occasionaly Rush Limbaugh’ are the ones at this moment who are seeing and presenting to the mass media the real BO. This is, as fiscalliberal noted above, going right over the head of the Dean’s and Pelosi’s.

Perhaps when battling the likes of MSNBC and CNN it is necessary to have strange and maybe temporary allies. As Churchill said ” He would follow Stalin to hell as long as he was fighting Hitler”
Susan,
I would like to apologize for my previous post; it was much harsher and more personal than the point I was trying to make warranted.
No, Pantload….you don’t have to apologize.
In fact, I loved this line:
Perhaps when battling the likes of MSNBC and CNN it is necessary to have strange and maybe temporary allies. As Churchill said ” He would follow Stalin to hell as long as he was fighting Hitler”.
I’m reading a new history of WWII right now and appreciate your way of illustrating that old axiom–Politics makes strangefellows.
Believe me Pantload I have had much internal conflict with association like the above group. To quote Dylan “This ain’t a dream, its the real thing!”

Clinton By Far Worst Abuser Of EarmarksPosted January 30, 2008 | 03:27 PM (EST)
In the fiscal 2008 omnibus appropriations bill Hillary Clinton received 261 earmarks, more than five times the number of any other presidential candidate. According to Taxpayers for Common Sense, Clinton obtained 360 earmarks worth $2.2 billion from 2002 to 2006. This record establishes her as by far the worst abuser of earmarks among all presidential candidates in both parties.
Clinton’s earmarks are an important issue for Democrats who worry about the growing corporate control over their party. But the earmark issue may be even more important in the general election because it could become the swing issue this fall allowing the presidency to remain in Republican hands.
In the fiscal 2008 defense authorization bill, Clinton pushed for more earmarks than any other senator except the chair of the Armed Services Committee. Clinton received 26 earmarks worth about $148.4 million (by contrast, Obama had only one earmark, requested with several other senators, to help children with severe disabilities). Clinton has been particularly active in obtaining earmarks for defense companies in New York, helping them sidestep the normal competitive system for contractors. She’s also raised more than $270,000 for her campaigns from these defense contractors.
Hillary Clinton’s $1 million earmark for a museum to celebrate the 1969 Woodstock music festival could become one of the biggest issues of the 2008 campaign. Not only does it anger the culture conservatives who see Woodstock as nothing more than a bunch of pot-smoking naked hippies, but even the people with fond memories of the rock festival must acknowledge that a museum is not exactly the best symbol of its meaning, and that a million dollars should be spent by pandering politicians for this project. The Woodstock earmark was voted out, 52-42, on October 18, 2007, making it one of only two earmarks to be voted down (the other was $129,000 for the home of the perfect Christmas tree project in North Carolina).
The Woodstock earmark raises further questions about the corrupt system of obtaining earmarks. On June 21, 2007, Clinton and Charles Schumer’s $1 million earmark for the Woodstock museum was approved by a Senate committee. Nine days later, billionaire Republican Alan Gerry, the driving force behind the museum, donated (with his wife) the maximum of $9,200 to Clinton’s presidential campaign. That same week, Gerry and his family gave $20,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee run by Schumer. Since 2005, the Gerrys have donated $18,600 to Clinton.
This wasn’t the only Clinton earmark in 2007 to raise questions about timing. On June 27, 2007, Clinton and Schumer earmarked $900,000 for the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where James D. Watson was the chancellor until he resigned in October 2007 for making racist remarks. Watson has donated more than $70,000 to political candidates and PACs, and gave $3,000 to Clinton’s presidential campaign on May 17 and June 25.
The Los Angeles Times reported how Clinton had supported government funding for a major campaign contributor’s plan to build “a mega-shopping mall complete with 10 Broadway-style theaters, an indoor river, a Tuscan village and a 39-story luxury hotel” called “Destiny” near Syracuse. Clinton arranged a $5 million earmark for transportation access, and $1 billion in federal bonding authority.
The Los Angeles Times also found that at least eight of Clinton’s biggest fundraisers who brought in more than $100,000 in donations are affiliated with the beneficiaries of her earmarks. By contrast, Barack Obama had only gotten $10,000 in donations from some trustees of the Shedd Aquarium, which received one of his earmarks.
In mid-January 2008, Clinton received an important endorsement from Rev. Calvin O. Butts III, pastor of the Abyssinian Baptist Church of Harlem and a prominent black leader. But this endorsement is tainted by the fact that Clinton provided $1,431,500 in earmarks in the 2008 federal budget for Butts’ Abyssinian Development Corporation and its youth and social service programs.
Earmarks create at least the appearance of political patronage for nonprofit groups. In order to get money from politicians, these organizations must play the political game of offering their endorsements. Because earmarks are the arbitrary decisions of members of Congress, leaders of nonprofit groups are reluctant to risk losing a valuable source of free money.
Keith Ashdown, research director for the Taxpayers for Common Sense, told the Los Angeles Times that
While Clinton has exploited earmarks for political gain in New York, Obama has led the fight to expose earmarks and change the system. Reason magazine noted that Obama’s role in passing the Federal Funding and Transparency Act “can’t be overstated.”
Obama, unlike Clinton, refuses to endorse any earmarks that directly benefit a private corporation. Since coming to the Senate, the Los Angeles Times discovered, Clinton had gotten $500 million in earmarks specifically benefiting 59 corporations, and she received donations from employees at 64% of those companies.
Obama was one of only two senators (with Republican Jon Kyl of Arizona) to release his requests for earmarks. Clinton and other legislators only have to reveal the earmarks that are approved, not all of their requests, and Clinton has opposed Obama’s efforts to require open scrutiny of these requests. Obama’s website offers his promise, “Obama will slash earmarks to no greater than year 2001 levels and ensure all spending decisions are open to the public.” This may not sound like much, but it would result in a massive decline in earmarks.
Earmarks were one critical factor in the devastating decline of the Republican Party in recent years. The 2006 elections were a landslide for Democrats, largely because the Republican-controlled Congress was seen as corrupt and wasteful. The scandals of Reps. Randy Duke Cunningham and Jack Abramoff both involved earmarks and the payoffs from the beneficiaries. Cunningham was convicted on charges of taking millions in gifts from a military contractor in exchange for earmarks.
Republicans, after being burned by earmarks in the 2006, will try to turn the tables in 2008. In November 2007, 72 Republicans without the support of their leadership called for establishing a Joint Select Committee on Earmark Reform. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) noted, I get standing ovations when I talk about earmarks.”
><
John McCain declared during a Republican presidential debate on October 21, 2007, “I have fought against out-of- control and disgraceful spending that’s been going on and I have saved the American people as much as $2 billion at one stroke. In case you missed it, a few days ago, Senator Clinton tried to spend $1 million on the Woodstock Concert Museum. Now, my friends, I wasn’t there. I’m sure it was a cultural and pharmaceutical event. I was tied up at the time.”
McCain observed, “No one can be president of the United States that supports projects such as these. And I believe that wasteful spending has got to be eliminated. And I will have this debate and win because she is a liberal Democrat and I am a proud, reliable, consistent conservative Republican.” McCain is right. Columnist Robert Novak noted that “Sen. John McCain on the campaign trail…is cheered for promising to veto bills with earmarked pork.” Unless the press continues to ignore the corruption issue for the next year, any Republican presidential candidate could make a devastating critique of Hillary Clinton if she is the Democratic nominee.
But it’s not just Republicans who hate pork barrel politics. The Boston Globe editorialized that earmarks “bring the whole appropriations process into disrepute.”(Dec. 30, 2007) Markos Moulitsas Zniga, founder of Daily Kos, noted: “It’s this sort of abuse, repeated many times over by many congresscritters, that drives the public’s disillusionment with our Congress. Real reform on this front needs to happen.” Ryan Alexander, President of Taxpayers for Common Sense, noted on Bill Moyers’ website: “the earmarking process is a breakdown in democratic decision-making in the Congress.”
The Democratic Congress has taken some steps to scale back earmarks. The first senate bill of the new Congress in 2007 focused on corruption, and the Democrats have turned back the rise in earmarks. According to a new website from the Office of Management and Budget tracking this information (created because of Obama’s legislative proposals), there were 13,491 earmarks in the 2005 baseline for $18,942,858,000. After rising close to $30 billion in 2006, earmarks in the 2008 House/Senate conference bill dropped to 11,737 requests for $16,871,939,000.
But if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, then it is certain the Republican candidate will rail against her as a symbol of corruption in Washington. All but one Republican presidential candidate comes from outside Washington DC, and Sen. John McCain has strong credentials in attacking earmarks and government waste.
In an election when Democrats should be able to win easily by denouncing the corruption and waste of the Bush Administration, the reverse may occur if Clinton is the nominee. The anti-Washington sentiment raging across the country could easily turn against the Democrats (Congress already has ratings lower than Bush) unless their nominee is a clear reformer.
Earmarks are much more than a symbolic issue about corruption in Washington. They represent a decisive difference between the two leading candidates in the Democratic race, and if Hillary Clinton emerges as her party’s nominee, her embrace of earmarks could be a critical issue helping Republicans retain the presidency.
Earmarks are a necessity, or would you rather take Dubya’s word for it that money will got to your district?
Trying to play that up is a spot caes of being disingenuous.
Ouch is the Wright, I mean right, word.
To john’s point, go to Huffpo right now and watch the last vestiges of Arianna’s credibility and sanity circle the drain. Her hacks under the banner “He’s Back” are flat out lying and twisting Bill Clinton’s words from yesterday and they’re even going back to twist his fairytale comment again.
And Hard Facts,
Obama has taken lobbyist money for his campaigns for years, even money from oil companies. I know he says he doesn’t, but he can’t fight the record of donations.
Where’s your article on that? I am not saying Hillary’s and Barack’s monies in earmarks and contributions are equal if I am to believe that article, but words matter, right?
A deeper look at Rezko for some items.
Keep in mind they first met through a “religious initiative” that sounds like a deal to have channeled some taxpayer funds through his hateful preacher in order to register voters.
Why should he not profit?
“Energy & Natural Resources
http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/latest/campaign-donors-47030305
Of $5.54 million spent on the campaign, this sector has given 59% to Republicans.
Clinton: $793,000
Obama: $728,000
McCain: $681,000
While Clinton has taken in the most overall, McCain has taken in more from oil and gas interests ($284,000 to Clinton’s $276,000 and Obama’s $157,000).”
Yet Obama is quite close to Hillary’s total, having taken less Oil and Gas money. Nuclar polluters can donate as well.
“Sweet column: Chicago’s Exelon execs donations to Obama become issue for Clinton. Yucca Mountain.
(this is a longer version of the print column)
LAS VEGAS, NV.—Yucca Mountain is a battle cry in this state.
http://blogs.suntimes.com/sweet/2008/01/sweet_column_chicagos_exelon_e.html
Congress has been wrestling for years over whether nuclear waste from other states—Illinois is one of them, with leftovers from power generating nuclear reactors—should be stored at Yucca.
Nevadans, to put it mildly, are against designating Yucca as a permanent waste repository, putting the state at odds with the Chicago-based Exelon Corporation, the nations’ largest nuclear operator, supporting a Yucca dump.
Yucca is more than a hot button issue here. Yucca is radioactive.
Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton and John Edwards all pledged that the Yucca site would never be developed, reinforcing those pledges at Tuesday’s debate.
Now, days before the Saturday caucus vote in Nevada, Clinton, at the debate and in a new paid radio spot running statewide, is highlighting the campaign donations Obama has taken from employees of Exelon.”
Taking less from oil and Gas than McCain, or more from nuclear polluters?
I wonder if Hillary dropped out,
Would Wright fiasco go away?
Would Rezko trial go away?
Would Obama’s connection with Ayers go away?
Obama camp and his surrogates seem to think that Obama’s problem will magically go away if Hillary dropped out.
They forget that GOP haven’t really bring up Odinga yet.
Do you know Odinga? It’s going to be another big hit at FOX news. Their rating going to go through the roof when they run the story.

I feel that Barack Obama’s biggest laps in judgement comes from sitting in that church, listening to this hate speech and not speaking out. The effect of this kind of rhetoric is destroying young black men who are struggling in the inner city. It also has the potential to promote violence and it most certainly causes disrespect and resentment between the races.
Just recently in the news several young white women in Georgia and North Carolina were drug from their cars and executed. Their attackers were young African American males. Did these young men see these young women driving in their SUVs and think of them as “white and privileged”, as described by Reverend Wright. Where these young men capable of these crimes because they were subjected to, or taught these hateful sermons?
There is nothing good that can come from Reverend Wright no matter how much good he does in his community because he has planted a garden of hate.
Diana, there is plenty of hate speech on this blog
You think we will be ‘drug’ out?
Dear Mary
This is one of the most pathetic accusations.
“He didn’t need to trash his white mother or grandmother.”
When did he do that? You and some others would like to believe and perpetuate that but it is just your willfull, hate-filled explanation.
I’m a former Clinton supporter (voted for him 2x) but observing them during this election campaign I have grown to dislike them. But I always thought that I’ll hold my nose and vote for the Democrat, Sen. Hilton, if necessary in the general election.
But seeing the raw hatred of so called Democrats on this blog….???
I remember reading that Obama got an earmark for the hospital where his wife works. Once he got the earmark, her salary was raised $200,000 to $300,000 for the same position. This sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.
Hillarys’ earmarks all go to businesses in New York State. That is what representatives go to Washington to do–fight for money for businesses in their states. The congress passed them all.
I remember seeing an earmark for autism. One out of 100 boys born are born with autism. I am not against productive earmarks. I am against bridges to no where. This is one senator trying to get money back for her state. She sure is successful at that. I am sure you know that Woodstock is located in a depressed area of NY State. Possibly a museum would draw tourists and support the economy of upstate NY.
Oops! This must be the kiss Billary’s ass blog. Get your heads out of the sand—-it’s not BILL who’s running, even though he’d like to. Not voting for Obama in the GE just shows how pathetic Hillary’s sheep are. Her sheep are a good flock. They’ve learned well from the master. Do and say anything to get elected is Billary’s theme song. What the hell is she going to do when she has to show up for court before the GE regarding the campaign fraud lawsuit? She’s taken lying to the publics face right out of Bill’s playbook. Sniper fire? What a joke!
She needs to ride off into the sunset—-and take her puppets with her. See ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya!!
