Anti-Hillary Media Bias Proven!

Something unusual has occurred during the past few days. An actual journalist has been questioning what has become the conventional wisdom concerning Hillary’s campaign. Finally we have a respected person bringing in other respected people to discuss the issue of this Democratic nomination process without the constant influx of lies that the Obamedia has perpetuated.

This rational discussion began March 31st on Lou Dobbs Tonight. A segment of the show was dedicated to the negative media bias against Hillary. [The VIDEOS are BELOW.] Perhaps most significant was the fact that Dobbs actually presented hard evidence that proved that the media was biased in favor of Obama.

LOU DOBBS TONIGHT

Those voices in favor of Senator Obama say Senator Clinton should end her campaign for quote “the good of the party.” And that a long campaign would quote “tear the party apart and ensure a Republican victory in November”, but when it comes to the largest audiences the three nightly broadcast newscasts, the bias is seemingly most pronounced. The nonpartisan Center for Media and Public Affairs has found that since last December, 83 percent of the reporting on Senator Obama was positive. Only 53 percent of the reporting on Senator Clinton was positive.

30% is a significant difference!
It seems clear that this pro-Obama media bias (Obamedia) is an intentional strategy concocted by the Obama campaign and the Obama media supporters.

Howard Kurtz, the Host of CNN’S RELIABLE SOURCES explains the strategy best. By keeping these all these calls for Hillary to drop out of the race in the news, it makes it impossible to use her best weapon in the arsenal: discussing the issues and presenting her solutions for America. If all people are talking about is how Hillary getting out now would be for the good of the party, or if she stays in and prolongs this nomination process it will tear the party apart and ensure a Republican victory in November then people won’t even listen to Hillary’s great progressive solutions to move our country forward. Because the solutions won’t be covered. And that is exactly what has been happening.

I think that should be up to the voters to decide and I think that by making this topic (A) in the race, it means that her message can’t get through on the economy or… Well, some of the stories have made that clear apparently, for example, calling on her to bow out. But look at my newspaper, “The Washington Post”, on Saturday front page headline, Clinton resist calls to drop out; Sunday front page headline, Clinton vows to stay in the race until convention, although that was an interview initiated by the senator saying that she is not getting out, but we won’t let her talk about anything else.

Get that? She won’t be able to talk about anything else. Her plan to fix the economy… means nothing. “She should do what is right for the party.” Her plan to provide for everyone to have health insurance… “but she can’t get enough delegates for the nomination”. Hillary up by double digits in PA, WV, KY and IN… “she is giving this election to McCain.”

See how easy this strategy works?

Lanny Davis had the courage to say what many of us have been thinking and writing about not so quietly for so long: This dreadful obvious double standard.

The second point, very quickly, Lou, is the double standard. We had this tremendous media frenzy, because I believe she made an honest mistake where news reporters at the time described and this is from the “Charleston Gazette” at the time in Bosnia that there were snipers protecting the first lady in a combat zone. She made an honest mistake when she said she was fired upon and we had two days or three days of media frenzy.

Now in the last three days we had Barack Obama on the front page of “The Post” yesterday where he misrepresented his father coming over to America through the use of Kennedy money. We have him taking credit for an immigration bill which he actually according to Senator Dodd had very little to do with. We have him saying that he didn’t know that Rezko was involved in wrongdoing…

So you all see how this double standard works now, Right? It is a very simple strategy.

First of all smear Hillary as a racist and a divisive figure who is only interested in herself and doesn’t care about the party. Gloss over the fact that Obama has a 20 year intimate relationship with a racist and a bigot. Kill that “typical white person” story. Next, make the case that she is a liar and reinforce that Republican meme by finding a single mistake she made and blowing it up as if it was an international incident. Cover up the fact that Obama lied about Selma and about his father’s relationship to JFK. Ignore the fact that Hillary has actually been all over the world and has met with countless foreign leaders while Obama couldn’t even find the time to convene an important meeting concerning NATO and Afghanistan. Facts hardly matter. Then, harp on the facts everyone already knows. She cannot win enough pledged delegates to win the nomination outright. But ignore the fact that Obama can’t either. And finally make her appear evil to actually want the entire country to decide who the nominee of our party is rather than do what traitors like Bill thirty pieces of silver Richardson, Pat democracy only when it makes me look important Leahy and Chris will you please convince the people of Connecticut to love me again.. here Dodd suggest.

It is a very undemocratic strategy to be certain. And in fact it is reminiscent of some of the most heinous Republican smear campaigns ever enacted. This makes Bush’s McCain sired a black baby campaign look like child’s play. People like Robert Gibbs and David Axelrod should be proud to have taken this Democratic party into the realm of fascism, party bosses, henchmen and thugs that this Chicago style Obama campaign prides itself on. They will certainly go down in the history books as the most vile campaign managed in recent history.

But here… have a look for yourself what was said on Dobbs show Sunday night.

Pretty cool eh? Well, maybe not if someone is an Obama supporter.

The best thing to all of this is that Dobbs didn’t just let the story go. It wasn’t a token gesture of actual journalism. No, Dobbs brought back what I consider to be a forgotten time, when journalists actually reported the news and did so in a manner that merely reported the cold hard facts accurately. Dobbs is not a talking head. He is someone that Murrow would be proud of. And to those who don’t know who I am referring to, it doesn’t surprise me in the least.

For the second night of examining the Obamedia anti-Hillary bias Dobbs decided to level the playing field. He started out stating the obvious point that no one else seems to be discussing.

Clinton Makes Declaration to Fight Until the End

As an Independent and I’ve got no view one way or the other on the Republican or the Democratic side of this thing. But what you said was she can’t win the nomination. Neither can Senator Obama.

Neither can Senator Obama! It’s about time someone actually said that. And it explains exactly why they want Hillary to get out of the race. Because in their eyes, Hillary is standing in the way of the Democratic party of making history. God, what a bunch of undemocratic, misogynistic, fascist hacks.

But Dobbs wasn’t satisfied just to state the obvious point that no one has even been whispering, he lays the whole thing out in a manner that even Axelrod and Plouffe won’t be able to explain away. Nor Saint Obama the Unifier, for saying it was ok with him if Hillary stayed in the race. So kind of his arrogant, pompous, privileged ass don’t you think?

And she has the lead in super delegate votes, so why in the world is there this compulsion, this absolute insistence in the national media to talk about the fact she can’t win the nomination? Neither can Senator Obama. And I have never seen in my career greater favoritism being applied in the national media broadly speaking than in this campaign in behalf of Senator Obama and against Senator Clinton.

You know something Lou? I have never seen anything like this in my lifetime either. Not in over a half century. And frankly, it seems more like fascism than democracy to me. Pure propaganda. While the current bias of the media does not violate the letter of the law because it is not Congress that is suppressing the press, we are surely witnessing a concerted assault to the spirit of the law. And it is a grave insult and injustice to all those gallant patriots that have sacrificed their lives and limbs to protect our Constitutionally guaranteed Freedom of the Press.

And what of our voice? Our votes? Yes, that guaranteed expression of our voices has been suppressed as well. But not by the Congress. It has been suppressed by none other than the Democratic National Committee. Coming soon to an oxymoron near you. Yes Howard I am from the Autocratic wing of the Democratic party Dean has determined that the unfair rules that three states (IA, NH and SC) are allowed to violate are more important than the votes of every state.

There is nothing more unfair than not, not to have those votes counted in Michigan and Florida. And if this is decided by super delegates without recognizing and counting and enfranchising those voters in Michigan and Florida, that’s when we’ll hear something unfair is it not?

Well a division of the delegates is not a vote. And a vote is required to be Democratic with both a small “d” and a large “D” in both in Michigan and in Florida. Can we agree on that, gentlemen?

That bears repeating: A division of the delegates is not a vote. I don’t know how anyone could have spoken this clearer.

In closing I leave you with the Mr. Dobbs himself. Because these printed words cannot possibly describe the absolute clarity and relevance of this wonderful American’s voice. Our country needs a lot more journalists like Lou Dobbs.

He is beginning to cause me to reexamine my objection to human cloning.

Thank you to C.S. for getting these videos to NoQuarter.

Fleaflicker–fantastic post. I’m growing fonder and fonder of Lou Dobbs with each passing week. I do hope he continues to use his clout on his network to call the media out on what they’ve been doing this election cycle. Here’s more critical analysis on the subject:

When Will Anyone Ask Him Tough Questions?

Fact: Media pitch Obama.

(note: stop-obama.org website is under maintenance now–may have to wait a bit before accessing links)

WOW Terrific links - Thank You!

Comment by mimi | 2008-04-02 15:44:53

They will ask him tough questions once he’s the nominee. ‘Gaslight Coverage’ will continue with this scenario: “The media has begun to scrutinize Barack Obama and now there is the growing clamor of outrage saying that the media is not being fair.” To which the media will respond, “The public complained that we weren’t asking him tough questions. Now that we are, they’re complaining about that too. We just can’t win.”

They really think we are stupid. And if we let them get away with this, they are right.

Comment by AmyinSC | 2008-04-02 17:27:17

The article cracked me up - thanks for the laugh. Maybe the MSM could take its CUE from this article! I sure would love to see Obama get those questions!

(Can I just say that I wish there was a way to acknowledge posts with which we agree, or just like, with a rating system a la TalkLeft.com. Just sayin’!)

Great post today Flea!

Dobbs is the only person I listen to on CNN now. I am so sick of those “objective” “analysts” that appeared out of the sky for Obama. Roland could take a story of Obama waterboarding somebody and find a positive in it while blaming it on Hillary. The worst one is that miserable scowling old prune Cafferty. He always looks like he has a gas pocket and he’s another one who could take an Obama story and come up with a negative question about Hillary. I think his all time low was the question, “Will Hillary Do Anything To Win?” As if Obama wouldn’t do anything to win. Try posting something positive about Hillary on his blog and see what happens. I also think Cafferty has a great face for radio. He’s fowl to look at.

ALSO..

Is this Additional Fact MORE Deliberate Manipulation of Public opinion to Create MORE Anti Hillary Bias to those doing Hillary Research..

I am Preparing to go to the COUNTY CONVENTION soon
as a Hillary delegate..I have put together a binder of various delegate material I have recieved..and wanted to Add some Positive Material from the Internet..and PRINT it Out..

First I went to GOOGLE..Typed in “HILLARY CLINTON..
QUALIFICATIONS.”..hit Search..Virtually every Artricle was Negative..and ofter Mentioned Obama..

Then I Did another Google..”HILLARY CLINTON..EXPERIENCE…” Search..again a Long List of NEGATIVE Headlines..articles..and Frequent references to OBAMA..

Then I did a Google “:HILLARY CLINTON RESUME”..and again Saw Several Negative headlines..

Its always negative for Hillary and refers to positives for Obama..in many cases..At least the first several search attempts..

Try it Yourself..

QUESTION…Can SEARCHS also Be manipulated to Bring up negative comments..Impressions and Create More Bias..??

How many other searchs on Hillary Clinton come up the same way..??

My Impression is that We Have REACHED A new level oF information Warfare ..Propoganda..Media Bias..Manipulation..and Tampering wityh the Election Process In the United States that is the Next STEP UP…from what we experienced from the
George W; Bush campaign and ROVE TACTICS..

It seems to me..The Power People and money people in Politics Decided on OBAMA and Put a package together a long time Ago..They didn’t want Hillary..are using every Means to Beat Her..

Ruthless..Unethical..Savage..Brutal..Sexixst..and Discriminating Acts..Manipulation at every turn.

Yes.

What is interesting, if one has the time, is to repeat the experiment using different search engines. Betweeen each search flush your cashe. There are many ways to make this happen and it just depends on what methods are used.

One needs to remember Axelrods AKP&D Message & Media consultancy has AT&T and other for clients.I am not implying any TinFoilHat stuff, I am just saying that “our” government is “filtering” the internet 24/7 for intel, and what other “programs” they run is an educated guess. If you had the means and had no fear of getting in trouble for it, it can be done. Just depends if you are Rove or Axelrod, they want the same thing for different reasons.
What a Brave New World eh?

When austroturfing “support”, one critical piece is what information people read on the net. How many people scroll past the first page of results?

Among ASK’s other clients: AT&T. The telecom company, formerly known as SBC Communications, had been a customer, Sedler confirms, when it requested ASK’s help to defeat a broadband referendum in three Fox Valley suburbs in 2004. ASK received $22,500 for its voter-persuasion drive.

PATRICK HENRY…
ANSWER

Yes. You CAN affect what comes up with popular searches– by doing something called “GOOGLE BOMBING.”

I’m not sure what they do. I think you waste hours and hours of your life searching on google a popular term– and somehow linking it to stupid shit.

It’s for young ugly boys without girlfriends. It’s for those kids who are not good at sports, are not THAT smart. These are the same ones hacking, stalking Hillary supporters (women) online and in life, and they do death threats too.

This is what the Virginia Tech shooter would be doing if he were alive today. Instead of getting these Columbine shooters help, love, direction, job, girlfriends, and so on—people like Markos at Daily Kos help them spread their hate.

Markos is teaching hackers, google bombers, how to also be terribly damaging to women and race bait.

ARE WE UNIFIED YET?

Thank you, thank you, thank you and it’s about time. Finally, we are starting to see pushback to the Obama frenzy we have been subjected to for the past few months. People are starting (many of us started long time ago), to look at both candidates with open eyes. Check out the polls for Pennslyvania, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Indiana. Hillary supporters, have started to speak up,(actually yell) and I believe are voices are beginning to resonate across the country. The DNC had better wake up. This is not a slam dunk for Obama. Thank you Lou Dobbs, and lets keep urging others to speak out on this double standard, that has gone on for far too long. There is only one choice-Hillary 08.

Comment by norrismorris | 2008-04-02 17:54:58

Lou Dobbs makes Keith Olbermann look like a stuffed self righteous pompous imitation of Ed Murrow. An ass of an imitation anchor/entertainer.

Olbermann has become laughably self important and journalistically corrupt. Dobbs is speaking his mind about what is really happening without taking sides. He’s doing a journalist’s job of being objective and searching out truths, whatever that brings.
Congrats to Dobbs for telling it as it is, and not flinching. The media bias has been unheard of and never seen before in such a massive wave of misreporting, underreporting, and showing an alarming tendency of propoganda talking points as wholly owned subsidiaries of the Obama campaign.

Mark Halperin of “The Page”, gets it fairly fair, and most often than others. But almost the entire media has entered into a pact to take Hillary down.

Some of this is misogyny, some is fear that comes from fearing black anger and black backlash. Some of it comes from wanting to be on the winning side for “access” as they did with Bush as they think it’s going to be Obama, so why not kiss ass now?

And some of it comes after many years of the GOP machine’s successful efforts to brand Hillary as a bitch, and piling it on has worked. The framing of the brand “Hate Hillary” has worked to a large degree. It’s somewhat orgiastic. People can’t stop as they get their anger off. They’ve been told it’s ok to hit on a strong woman who has the nerve to seek the ultimate power.

So…the Press and entire Media are telling Hillary, “Iron My Shirt”.

And of course, some of it is coming from the perception that Obama is a cool one with immense charm, and as I heard Michelle say at a rally months ago, “No one knows how utterly brilliant this man is”

And please not let us forget a very powerful tool in today’s politics……….the race card as played by black preachers and politicians, and the pressure of continually owning the word frames of “white guilt” and playing to these emotions at all times.

I had written Lou Dobbs off after the way he kept harping on the Nancy Pelosi and a bigger airplane crap. He either didn’t know what the hell he was talking about or he deliberately lied.

Now here he comes and is the most honest about this mess of anyone I have seen or heard. Whodathunkit? Unlike Obama supporters Dobbs actually seems to be outraged about people being disenfranchised. How quaint. And good for you Lou. Maybe I’ll start watching again.

Damn I hate it when I have to change my mind and take someone off my a$$hole list and put them back onto credible!

Thanks for the great post, Fleaflicker! I never would have seen this, since I stopped watching television news altogether. I see in the LA Times, that Howard Dean AND Nancy Pelosi are changing their tunes…do you think our letters and e-mails worked? I’m going to believe they did!

Comment by norrismorris | 2008-04-02 17:32:44

The emails might have had some effect, but I believe they’re buying time so they can get Hillary out of the picture Before the convention, and seat delegates from Fla and Mi AFTER Hillary is out, thereby no one can see what they’ve done as they arrive at the convention WITH the delegates, AND with OBAMA set as nominee. Thereby they get their boy nominated, and appear democratic by seating the delegations with Hillary out of the picture.

If Hillary doesn’t cave, they will tar and feather her as ruining their chances against McCain, and keep her off committees, etc in Senate Hell.

Hillary should do exactly what she wants to do, and then run for Governor of New York State, and let the party fend, fend, fend, if Obama is nominated.

The fear of Dem leaders is the upsetting and very aggressive tactics of black leaders amd pols who threaten delegates, supers, elected officals, black caucus, with vitriolic tribes and regular threats of death and if not actual death…political death.

What a lousy situation.

Anti-Hillary Bias, indeed.

A group out of Chicago is doing their own investigations on Obama’s “work” there. Original Footage here in their trip to the SouthSide Chicago.

If only the reporters would come down and investigate the conditions on Obama’s beloved Southside Chicago.

Read the video description. Help the spread of this vid. Let’s bring the world to this Chicago.

http://hillbuzz.blogspot.com/2008/03/if-you-cant-help-city-how-can-you-help.html

People are hurting here — when Walmart tried to move in, a group of ministers blocked the bid. One of the Reverend Wright. Later, a Walmart was opened in another poor area more northward and they got 16,500 apps for 450 jobs. Unbelievable.

Just a hunch, but something about Obama’s “legal career” is starting to stink.

Was this also a calculated move to avoid any controversy which could hurt his chance for election?

Meaning, no legal work done, whatsoever, or very little? (Except for the horrifically corrupt Rezko, aye…)

According to stop obama.org, he did NO trial work, at all, he is not attorney of record, anywhere.

With all the BS surrounding Obama, I wonder if he even really passed the bar, or if Rezko arranged something for him, given how Rezko worked the governor’s office.

lol, just kidding.

I think.

Comment by Nellie | 2008-04-02 15:54:25

Short answer - This whole scam with Rezko, Auchi etc is a Hawala syterm. It is much more than just laundering money so taxes can be avoided and amounts never surfacing. It is also the placement of people. Obama is the “Placeholder” in the position at any given time.

Look at it as if Obama was named Chief Executive Auditor of Bank of America. This provides him justification in moving around. He is like the Bank officer who appears to be diligently working around closing time - is the last to leave - leaves the back door unlocked and the safe unsecured. Of couse a few hours later that given bank is robbed and Auditor Obama is just Shocked, shocked I tell you.

He has done this by either manipulating given laws, filling out paperwork for LLC’s, foundations etc, or writing new laws as is the case with the Health Facilites and Teacher Retirement laws in Illinois. He also gets to be on “boards” so that way any cumbersome policies can be ignored or re-written.

Here is a good explanation of how hawala works from Interpol

http://www.interpol.int/Public/FinancialCrime/MoneyLaundering/hawala/default.asp

He did actually do around 10 cases - mostly civil rights - in a courtroom - but he was not anywhere near lead lawyer. I’ll try to find the link for this last later.

My finishing course was the youngest son of the finance Minister from Indonesia under Shuharto, whose mom would come over ever 4-5 months to make sure her “baby” was okay - and she would stay with me because her sons apartment was only 2 bedrooms. She tauhgt me, among other things, how to look at the outside of houses and judge not by number of square feet, but by number of servants to maintain upkeep.

Long story short - I know - but honestly - other than you guys, how many Americans know how it works?

And yesterday, the 20th Chicago Public School Student was killed from gun violence this year. Killed, not injured.

He turns his back or looks the other way.

Did you notice how Lou keeps saying there is a media bias and Bill, tries to change it about SDs and conventions and does not acknowledge what Lou is saying there is a media bias? it is like 2 people standing next to each other giving 2 different speeches

Print editorial meetings set out to print what they want to print and what they determine to be of important/pertinent to their readership. This goes beyond the Obama campaign. Perhaps the electronic media operates differently and more idependently, but what we read in print, and most probably, what is reported on TV, i.e., CNN, MSNBC,Fox News etc. is planned down to the wire by editors and their superiors.

We don’t really know what is at play here but I would suspect it is far more globally complex than we can prove at this point.

I believe when our grandchildren study this primary in the history books, they will be reading about how the first woman president saved Democracy.

I use to wonder why the republicans hated the Clintons so much (by the many books and columns written many people have wondered that, too). I use to wonder why Hillary was targeted so much. Was it sexism? Was it that she stayed with Bill? Was she too aloof? Was she too secretive? Was she too pretty? Was she too unattractive? Was her ankles to fat? Was it that she preferred pantsuits to dresses? Was she too smart? Was she too much of a “career” woman and not Tammy Wynette?
And then the whole “Monica” affair. The Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones stuff. Why did Hillary stay with Bill? Why was there a blue dress? Why didn’t Hillary just leave Bill and spare herself some of that public humiliation and embrassement (and I mean before Monica)? Why? Why?

It is because Hillary had to go through all of that to be able to survive this.

I am a firm believer in destiny. I believe every moment of each of our lives has been set. “Free will” is the path we take to get to those moments. All the years of battling the republicans, Bill, herself, whomever was preparing her for this moment. Can you imagine, Kerry or Al Gore taking this kind of heat?

Hillary was born to arrive at this moment. From born to Wellesley to HERE.

I believe Obama is a fatally flawed candidate. Obama is connected to too many characters (Rev. Wright, Rezko, Ayers) that did not respect the values of America. That only recognize the ugly America not the beautiful America. There is a cockiness, arrogances to Obama that speaks of ugly cunningness that makes me alarmed.

I also believe the MSM along with its corporate owners want to fundamentally change how WE americans pick OUR president. Corporate America with all of its billions and trillion can not stop one person from walking into a booth and voting. That simple act of voting cancels out all of their billions, all of their lobbyist clout, and all of their bought politicans. So, Corporate America has to use its Media power to make us vote a particular why–they have to”manage” the narrative. They have to “jimmy” the infomation so we vote for whoever they want for whatever reason they have.

Hillary staying in the race demonstrate that the corporate media cannot DENT the AWESOME power of the simple act of voting. For as long as she stays in the race the narrative corporate america has constructed starts to falter a little. The narrative starts to unravel a little. The longer Hillary stays in the race the bias a few saw in the beginning starts to become more obvious. It becomes more obvious to the non political junkie. The “narrative” can not be supported and it begins to crumble. See Lou Dobbs. Then the question becomes why is the Media bias towards Obama and against Hillary? What is their business here? Why is Obama being cramped down our throats?

Our grandchildren will be reading and studying about this time in American History. I also believe they will be taking field trips to see the monument of the first woman president Hillary Clinton who saved Democracy (Big “D”).

Wow… I’m not sure which is more hilarious “This rational discussion began March 31st on Lou Dobbs Tonight” or both you and Lou touting Center for Media and Public Affairs (CMPA)as a non-partisan group.

Reading the transcript disproves your “rational discussion” claim… it may have been intended to be such, but it certainly didn’t end up that way.

But let’s get back to the presumptive topic at hand - you note the 30% difference in “positive” stories. Neither you or Lou ask how CMPA came up with that - you merely cite bias as the obvious reason. Ummmm… okay.

What’s funnier is I’d put money on the fact that you didn’t find Lou so wonderful, when he was slamming Hillary’s stance on H1B’s or the Indian trust, or any number of other issues in the past - and when he starts attacking her again you’ll forget this moment of glowing praise.

Do I think the coverage is unbalanced - sure, do I think it’s part of the media conspiracy to further subvert the will of the people and deny Hillary a shot - nope, the media is the media. Fickle and opportunist. Don’t worry - they’ll be attacking Obama soon enough.

I think you are right at least on one point: Lou Dobbs is not a friend of Hillary Clinton. And yes, he will be bashing Hillary again soon enough and will eventually make his way to Obama.

The difference with Loud Dobbs, if I may so humbly suggest, is that he is at least right some of the time. Unlike many Obama supporters who will not, under any circumstance, find wrong in themselves, their candidate or those who support him.

And Dobbs should really be seen in the correct light. He is an opportunist of the grandest kind. No better or worse than all the rest currently polluting our airwaves and passing themselves off as “journalist.”

The goal is to make money. Lots of it. The fastest way to make yourself rich (did you know that?) is to write a book that makes it to one book list or another. Shoot, what a sweet deal these guys have. They just pick their subject, rail against it on TV for free, pander their book, get rich.

I wish we could all just stop pretending it is anything else.

Comment by Smilin' Jim | 2008-04-02 21:09:40

“Neither you or Lou ask how CMPA came up with that - you merely cite bias as the obvious reason.”

Well lemme see now…….

CMPA headline: MEDIA BOOST OBAMA, BASH “BILLARY
CMPA subhead: Hillary Pilloried ?

These results are from CMPA’s 2008 ElectionNewsWatch Project. They are based on a scientific content analysis of 765 election news stories (22 hours 15 minutes of airtime) that aired on the flagship evening news shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX (the first 30 minutes of “Special Report with Brit Hume”, which is most like the network news shows in content and presentation) from December 16, 2007 through January 27, 2008.

Fifteen yards and loss of down for spin cycle meltdown.

“boost vs.bash” or “pilloried” is currently trading at forty biases….. you still have to feed the pot before you can call.

Now if that is sociopathic bashing or pillorying, then all is revealed. Regrettably, one would then have to prove how something as brain-dead as the media can exhibit the symptoms of sociopathology. These little problems never stop. Pity.

I contacted you old prof at trollschool and he recommends your best fallback position is to prove that CMPA has a conservative bias (as FAIR, a media group with a liberal bias, says). Then, of course, you would have to show how a conservative bias would trump the obvious fact and the statistics. If George Wallace had said the Sun was one AU away, would that make it a lie? Science is so unfair.

However that analytical approach wouldn’t be the usual triumph of style over substance that the Obama crowd celebrates, would it?

the biggest secret everyone knew? But it proves that repeating lies can confuse the public. But some good news, Howard Dean has come out in favor of counting the popular votes in Florida and Michigan. So, as of now she’s ahead in the popular vote. And far ahead in Democratic votes.

7. The Rev. Wright story notwithstanding, the media still wants Obama to be the nominee — and that has an impact every day.

I love Hillary and hope she wins but she should kick Bill in the cajones for the 1996 Telecommunications Act which made possible the consolidation of the media in the hands of old, white, male, mostly Republicans.

Comment by pm317 | 2008-04-02 19:47:37

Without a rational, unbiased, intellectually honest press/media, democracies can not thrive. This is how we got Bush in 2000, the Iraq war, and now this..Haven’t we learned anything? Some of us have. There is an uprising which is evidenced by the support for Hillary. We will have to see if we can reach a majority to squash their efforts in time.

Comment by Ron from S.F. | 2008-04-02 20:41:18

I have been saying for weeks that without counting full delegations from Florida and Michigan, there is not much of a chance of any candidate getting a majority ( 2,025) delegates. The rules state that the nominee is the one with a majority of delegates, not the most of them. Could that be why they want Hillary to concede? And howard Dean is responsible for this mess we are in. When was it decided that winner take all primaries weren’t democratic enough? And the caucuses are fairer? Ha! I thought that the media bias was obvious, even before SNL turned on the spotlight. That includes columnists Dowd and Rich and even Brooks and all of so-called “progressive radio”. Is there anyone on Air America who is not for Obama? Why should TV be any different? They are just not all as obvious as Fox. Nobody asked me.

Comment by Marc1A | 2008-04-02 22:39:15

This is sad but will only be recognized after the campaign is over. The media always does one of its self-analysis and admits what a terrible, unbalanced job it has done, when it’s too late. Like their look back at their pre-war coverage.

I’ve never really cared for Lou Dobbs, but have to agree with him about the Pro-Obama/Anti-Hillary media bias in this campaign. This bias makes me angrier by the day. I still plan to vote for Obama should he be the Dems’ nominee, but he’s NOT my first choice by any means.

Hillary has every right to stay and fight (as does Barack), and the remaining states have a right to choose their candidate. The contest is too close for one or the other to give in right now. It is arrogant and presumptuous for the Obama campaign to keep crying “Surrender, Hillary!” — sounding much like the Wicked Witch in “The Wizard of Oz.”

OTOH: No one should claim that the Center for Media and Public Affairs is “nonpartisan” (per the first quote from Dobbs above). Here are the funding sources and folks behind CMPA from SourceWatch:

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Center_for_Media_and_Public_Affairs

As SourceWatch concludes: “The data reveals that the overwhelming proportion of CMPA’s funding comes from conservative foundations.”

Not exactly non-partisan funding sources, or a non-partisan media watch organization.
