Totally true. I should be a Republican under those rules too. If I was just voting my economic interests I would want to pay less in taxes. Obama raising the cap would affect me.
If everyone voted their personal economic interests we wouldn’t have social security or medicare because people with good jobs would block it. We vote for these things because we want a decent society that takes care and helps people when they need it. The argument about voting your only on your own economic interests will back fire on Democrats because it is the height of self-centeredness.

Donna Brazile said that including equating the gay movement to the black movement is “an affront to the civil rights movement”. I don’t know what her sexuality is, but she is definitely not a supporter of euqal rights.

Everytime I get a fund raising email from the DNC, I tell them,” not until FL and MI are counted”. If they short circuit the process, I will leave the party. One of the core Democratic principles is voter rights. If Dean insists on disenfranchising millions of voters and nominating an illegitimate candidate, leaving will be easy. I don’t think they could call themselves Democrats anymore.

Our primary system needs dramatic overhaul.

I don’t think a candidate should be penalized because the system is badly cobbled together and neglected.

The way this process has dragged on is abusive, inhumane, and prohibitively expensive.

Updating should be a top priority.

Hmmm…..Well all I can say is that it’s pretty clear to me that Dean the Putz does’nt give a whit about the welfare of either the party or people in general….I think he knows he won’t have a job at the DNC so he’s settin up….You could be right. I think other SD’s are afraid of the Sharpton troops…I just think Dean the Putz might not be.

No it makes me think more along the lines of threat or riots in the streets. Roland Martin’s words on CNN awhile back have stayed with me. He said Obama had BETTER get the nomination as “his audience” is going to be REALLY angry.

Of COURSE it doesn’t matter what your sexual orientation is, and of course it is personal. However, in selecting who you vote for as President, it does matter a lot. This is a position that is keey to the unlocking (or locking) of rights. This is a position where opinion rolls downhill, as do votes sometimes. So in that context, it does matter.
