Barack Obama, From Hope and Change to Mr. Cellophane
By Larry Johnson on April 22, 2008 at 8:37 PM in Current Affairs
Quick now. A couple of questions. How can Barack be viewed seriously as the candidate of “hope” and “change” when he is the candidate of the entrenched, Democratic, dynastic families? If you have got the Kennedys, the Caseys, the Daleys, and the Hoffas in your corner, what exactly are you going to change?
Based on tonight’s performance in Pennsylvania, the only “hope” Barack is offering is to the Republicans. If he is the Democrats’ candidate come November they will have a solid shot at victory. And on the change front? Barack will change the odds of the Democrats ability to wrest control of the White House from almost certain to almost impossible.
You da man. If he accomplishes this feat, he may have no recourse but to seek solace in Chicago. The musical, not the city. As performed by John C. Reilly in the movie, CHICAGO.
